A UNIVERSITY student has been fined £80 — for making “homophobic comments” to a police horse.

Sam Brown, 21, had staggered out of a bar in the early hours and came face-to-face with two mounted officers. Sam, who is studying English at Oxford University, approached one of the cops and asked: “How do you feel about your horse being gay?”

He was taken to a police station and held in a cell until morning — when he was given a fixed penalty fine of £80 for public disorder.

Mom let 11-year-old son drive to school

A Chicago mother let her 11-year-old son drive the family minivan to school while she and her daughter rode as passengers. The van jumped a curb and plowed into a school zone sign.

Now the boy's mother, Erin Sarandah, has been cited for property damage and allowing her son to drive. She also has to find a new school for her son.

Officials at the St. John Fisher Catholic grade school have decided to expel the boy after the Monday morning accident.

Selma: Administrator Goes Overboard at School Talent Show

An assistant school superintendent in eastern Indiana put on a performance at a school talent show that may cost her a job and her reputation.

But Matt and Chris can describe it. They were on stage. “She came up and was dancing with us and booty dancing with me and I cuffed her and I guess it got kind of seductive,” said Chris.

Matt thinks McHaffey should be reprimanded for her behavior, although he admits, “I thought it was funny.”

Parents of toddlers attending a Geneva, NY nursery school responded in outrage after their children were instructed to draw and color a known symbol of the homosexual agenda: the rainbow. A Local 10 News crew stopped by Garrison's house, but no one answered the door.

"He seemed like he was a very nice, intelligent young man," said one neighbor. "He didn't bother nobody around here."

"Once the London borough of Havering became aware of matters concerning members of staff at one of our schools being involved in inappropriate behaviour outside school hours it acted swiftly to initiate an investigation into those rumours.

Inside school hours would have been a completely different story

Teacher Attire Becoming a Touchy Topic

LOS ANGELES -- Teachers are expected to bear long days, challenging students and demanding parents. Now, apparently, some teachers are baring too much of themselves. School boards and superintendents increasingly are pursuing dress codes for teachers. At issue is the same kind of questionable attire most often associated with students.

In some districts, teachers can get dressed down for wearing skimpy tops, short skirts, flip flops, jeans, T-shirts, spandex or baseball caps. Spaghetti is fine in the cafeteria, but shirts supported by spaghetti straps are not welcome in the classroom.

Mom Pleads Guilty to Hosting Sex Parties

GOLDEN, Colo. - A woman who told police she wanted to be a "cool mom" pleaded guilty to sexual assault charges Monday for having sex with high school boys at parties where authorities said she supplied drugs and alcohol.

Johnson, who is free on bail, held parties for the boys almost weekly between October 2003 and October 2004, authorities said. She was accused of providing drugs and alcohol to eight boys and having sex with five of them.

Police said the investigation began after one of the boys told his mother about the encounters, and she reported it to authorities.

What Happens When You Accidentally Buy A $245,000 Car On eBay

Today is the day of odd eBay related lawsuits it seems. The latest is the story of a limo that was once owned by Elvis Presley. The owner tried to sell it on eBay, with a "buy it now" price of $245,000. He was therefore quite happy when someone did, indeed, agree to the "buy it now," price. There's just one problem the owner of the account claims his two year old daughter was playing with the mouse on his computer andshe is actually the one who made the bid. He apologized, but apparently that wasn't good enough. The seller is now suing him for $245,000, plus an additional $150,000 in "damages." There's a lot that doesn't make sense on either side of this case. On the buyer's side, it takes more than just a single click to "buy it now," so some are saying it must be a hoax bid. The guy stands by his claim, though, that it was just his daughter playing around. On the other side, though, is this really worth that kind of lawsuit? All he has to do is put it up again. He claims he did, but that there were no bidders -- which seems odd. There apparently were bidders for the original auction, so it's not clear where they all went. Either way, it seems a bit vindicative to go sue this guy for that much, even if he did make a hoax bid

The seller is a major asshole and should be locked up for fraud :reallymad:

Girl, 11, to go on trial for rock incident

Mayor stands by police in face of ethnic bias claim

Fresno -- Until the afternoon of April 29, 11-year-old Maribel Cuevas' only connection with law enforcement was involvement in a mentoring program sponsored by the Police Activities League.

But that day a rock she says slipped from her hand struck Elijah Vang, 8, in the forehead. A 911 call led to Maribel being arrested by Fresno police officers, handcuffed and taken to Juvenile Hall, where she stayed for five days before a judge released her on the condition she wear an electronic ankle bracelet.

On Wednesday, Maribel is scheduled to go on trial in Juvenile Court on felony assault charges. Authorities say the rock-throwing incident was too serious to be treated lightly.

But critics of the Police Department's actions, including Maribel's father, say the treatment would have been different if Mirabel wasn't a Latina living in one of the city's poorer neighborhoods.

"If this was a middle-class or upper-class neighborhood it would have been a very different outcome," said the Rev. Floyd Harris Jr., who led a 100- person vigil Friday in front of Juvenile Hall to support Maribel.

"Police don't have the same respect for people of color in this town," Harris said.

Fresno's mayor, Alan Autry, commended the department in a statement. "In Fresno, we love our children too much to treat this like it was just a childhood dispute when in fact the consequences could have been tragic."

Maribel says she was defending herself against Elijah and other boys who had thrown rocks and water balloons at her and some of her younger siblings while they were playing behind the low chain-link fence of a relative's front yard in their largely minority neighborhood.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
