  1. No, no, no. Remember? You're the useless hippie stoner. I was just tired.
  2. Remember the web site that listed the top 10 or so ways the world could end? Yes, mass insanity was one of them.
  3. Which brings me to my next point....... There is no way in hell a true survey turned up in favor of Slash.......I mean Slush. It has to be pure writer's choice.
  4. Just another Hollywood disaster waiting to happen. That, or a sex tape waiting to happen. One of the two might prove more productive, however, ..............what the fuck am I talking about again? Damn it. This is what sleep deprivation does to a person. They start posting about celebrities and before you know....................**Ken falls unconscious**
  5. You do research on facts, not opinions. If it's opinions, you either do a survey, or you do it based upon your own opinions.
  6. I suppose in a technical way, Freddie Mercury had a better voice, but Plant had some odd, untamed, almost god type voice to him. You could never mistake him for anyone else, and when he sings, you listen.
  7. The reason this happened is because every member of Led Zeppelin kicks a Mount Everest amount ass. Anyone who is disappointed by this has bad taste in music. I’m just kidding, but Led Zeppelin does kick rock piles of ass.
  8. That old bastard was drifting north, and not in a "I'm your grandfather! Sit on my lap and we'll play Digging For Dimes" type of way, but more like a "Hi, my name is Robert, and I'll be molesting you this afternoon" type of way. He was undoubtedly heading for a celebrity style ass grope and subsequent enema. I’d have beaten him with a large rock. Such is the nature of Hollywood I guess...
  9. As you wish.... :duck hunt: :duck hunt: :duck hunt: :duck hunt: :shootin: :shootin: :shootin: :shootin: :shootin: :shootin: :shootin: :shootin: :shootin: :shootin: :shootin: :duck hunt: :duck hunt: :duck hunt:
  10. I was thinking the same thing, only without the words "less than".
  11. ..............proving once again that the majority of people who go to see movies are drooling retards who would pay to see anything.
  12. Very odd. I've always seen complaints on message boards and forums talking about bugs in the Soulseek client. Even method, a dedicated Soulseek user, said in this very thread that Soulseek has an unordinary amount of bugs (meaning it's buggy).
  13. I was dramatizing, but there's still no excuse. It's not like it has to be sophisticated. It's a client for a simplistic centralized network. I know. You said that. Same reply though.
  14. Having a shitty application doesn't prevent you from going "mainstream" (if there is such a thing). The network is what is most important in that determination. It's a convenient excuse to say that they purposefully coded a pile of donkey shit in order to stay out of the "mainstream".
  15. Sure to be a hit musical on broadway.
  16. Don't make excuses for them Method. If they weren't such shitty programmers, not only would you have the Soulseek community that you like so much, but also a nice stable client. It's not supposed to be that way. You, and others, deserve better.

  19. Changes: From June 6th and later... June 07, 12:40pm: the distributed network seems to be functioning pretty well, although not yet what we're aiming for. one primary cause seems to be an intrinsic instability of connections between parents and children, and the prime suspect is a prone to inaccuracy timeout mechanism. this is corrected in the 3rd test version which is now posted. June 09, 8:47pm: yes yes y'all, i screwed up the child depth relay code. here's a great example of why you shouldn't program when you're stoned. feeling geeky? ok then. one thing that's done on the new distributed network that's wasn't done before is that for each client we are now keeping track of what we call: child depth. when the client doesn't have any children, its child depth is 0. if the client has any number of children, its child depth is 1. unless they have any children of their own in which case it would be 2. unless those children have their own children... you get the idea. what child depth signifies is the number of levels of children a client has "under them". that information lets us make fairly sure that the distributed network as a whole doesn't grow past a certain depth, and that in turn helps give faster search results and more of them since ultimately there is less chance of failure along the way. this kind of depth information is collected from the very bottom of the network -- from childless children to parentmost parents each hop is automatically counted as one level of depth. this is what our problem was: without the proper intervening logic we made the client consider the word of the most recently talkative child over any of those that preceded. this is no good if we're already recorded to have one child of say, level depth 3 (thus making our own - 4) but then are told of a child that has a child depth of 0 (which incorrectly records our new depth as 1 when our actual depth hasn't really changed. silly? yes, but that's being overworked for ya. and this is what test 4 is all about fixing. June 13, 9:56pm: 5th test version posted. more important fixes to the networking code. Homepage
  20. Change log: 07/08/2005 New set the filter on a per-search basis, instead of application-wide. No longer app crash if the destination folder is missing. Some minor bug fixes and code optimizations. Homepage
  21. Yep, sick shit. And for more sick shit................. http://www.beatking.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14098
  22. July 7, 2005 Opera Software has released a preview version of its flagship browser that integrates a BitTorrent client, letting users retrieve files in that popular peer-to-peer format... Read Full Article When they release it from their website via an HTTP link, I'll add it to the BitTorrent client list.
  23. Well, they're both Gnutella clients. No matter how much a particular client spruces things up, there will never be a major speed difference between Gnutella clients. It's the same network after all. Same users, same files. I suppose GUI wise Limewire probably has an edge, then again they're both Java written, which makes them clunky.
  24. That's the thing that most people don't realize about terrorism (and things like guerilla warfare). You can't "beat" it completely. Even the Soviets (with the sort of "retaliatory terrorism" you talk about) got bogged down in Afghanistan. And let’s not even get into the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. If someone wants to strap a bomb to themselves and get on a bus, chances are they will succeed in detonating said bomb in the presence of another human being. This also applies to planting bombs too (and escaping), though that's harder to pull off (in comparison). I suppose the main point though is that becoming a terrorist yourself or wanting other horrible human beings to commit acts of violence in such a broad.... ....way makes you no better a person than those who committed this crime today. That mosque you just wanted blown up could have innocent people inside it who don’t know anything except their daily lives and their religion. You have so much hatred for the terroists (for good reason) yet you also want to BE them? Doesn't make sense.
  25. On a side note, the Egyptian ambassador that was abducted in Iraq has been killed. http://edition.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/07/07/iraq.main/ It looks like they're going full scale now. I worry about the other the European countries listed in the article. They're probably very susceptible to simple bus bombs (like those in Israel). As a matter of fact, I can't think of a country that isn't susceptible to bus bombings. They're simple yet deadly. Glad to hear that you're OK MI. Stay out of harms way.
