"A Whiter Shade Of Pale"

--Harum Procol

The fucking song has been in my head for about a week. It won’t leave. I think it's taken up permanent residence. I think it's ordered a satellite dish from Direct TV, probably for this year's NFL season.

In the immortal words of Keanu, “FUCK ME!”.

Nine Inch Nails right now, I just finished listening to Pretty Hate Machine.....

Usually my mind is like a radio and the "stations" keep changing...so I could have two or three songs going at one time!! And that just drives me nuts!!!:wacko:

Last night (9/1) I was working a Houston Comets game (WNBA) and I had to work by the visiting team locker room and the guy I was working with started to sing CHRISTMAS songs!!!! I went home with those songs in my head!!

that's quite funny

In our country there is a song that goes:

De Pizza Hut

De Pizza Hut

Kentucky Fried CHicken en de Pizza Hut

MacDonalds

MacDonalds

Kentucky Fried CHicken en de Pizza Hut

These lyricks are on the melodie of an English (scouting?) song which I cannot find.

It goes something like

Carmamsasa

Carmamsasa

goody goody goody goody ramsasa

caramy

caramy

goody goody goody goody ramsasa

pretty ennoying all together.

By the way: If someone knows it, he or she will be awarded: By having this song in his head for DAYS!

Ai Garimasu from Jefferson Starship!

It's a great song, so I don't mind so much.

:strumma:

Ai child you are timeless and I love you

Child that I see

And I see you tryin' to lean towards kindness

Now that's what I like to see.

That's what I like to see

I want to see your love

And I want to feel

I want to feel your love.

Ai Garimas? sometimes loving in the rain

Some feel like steel, some taste like candy

Ai Garimas? the same in any language

The same in any name

Call it what you feel

Call it whatever's handy

We don't have to know the name

We don't have to have the same name

We don't have to have any name at all

All 'cause you gave me your love

And now I know just exactly who to call.

That's what I like to see

I like to see your love

And I want to feel

I want to feel your love.

We don't have to know the name

We don't have to have the same name

We don't have to have any name at all

Cause you gave me your love

And now I know just exactly who to call.

hihihihi

In your country as well?

irritating, isn't it?

With us it's just a kid's hype - no big hit, only on parties.

But when it's in your head......

By the way, I am still courious what te name is of the scouting song. I thought it was performed by the Scaffold, but I cannot find anything like it in teir discography.

  • 4 weeks later...

The song I can't get out of my head is Can't Get it Out Of My Head, by Electric Light Orchestra's El Dorado album.

Midnight on the water.

I saw the ocean's daughter.

Walking on a wave she came,

staring as she called my name.

And I can't get it out of my head,

no, I can't get it out of my head.

Now my whole world is gone for dead

'cos I can't get it out of my head.

Breakdown on the shoreline,

can't move, it's an ebbtide.

Morning don't get here till night,

searching for her silver light.

And I can't get it out of my head,

no, I can't get it out of my head.

Now my whole world is gone for dead

'cos I can't get it out of my head, no no.

Bank job in the city.

Robin Hood and William Tell and Ivanhoe and Lancelot, they don't envy me.

Sitting till the sun goes down,

in dreams the world keep going round and round.

And I can't get it out of my head,

no, I can't get it out of my head.

Now my whole world is gone for dead

'cos I can't get it out of my head, no no.

No, I can't get it out of my head,

no, I can't get it out of my head.

Now my whole world is gone for dead

'cos I can't get it out of my head, no no no no.

B12 - Grey Daze

Atom bombs, something's wrong

D.E.A sent to Guam

Acid trips, big fat chicks

Purple Flinstone vitamins

All the needy, rich are greedy

I find out you don't need me

Berlin wall starts to fall

I trip out to the wall

Hooray hoorah

You think I'm stupid

Stay out of my way

You think I'm stupid

Ku Klux Klan makes a plan

To destroy the black man

Air pollution, no solution

What is causing this confusion

Anarchism, satanism

Anti-christ, socialism

A man's brain is deranged

So we think he's insane

Hooray hoorah

You think I'm stupid

Stay out of my way (x2)

You think I'm stupid

that song is so catchy

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
