My wife and I are celebrating the birth of our new baby girl Brianna. She was born yesterday on Cinco de Maya at noon. She and mom are healthy and both of them are coming home today. Unfortunately The hospital wouldn't let me stay overnight as she had a shared hospital room. (damn Hmo's)

I never thought I was an emotional person before but the gift of life is so incredible I couldn't stop the tears of joy. :)

Rob, super-congratulations!!! :good job:  :good job:  :good job:  :good job:

I'll never forget holding my son right after he was born--from that moment on my life has been so completely and utterly changed. It's all an adventure, man, as eventually mild-mannered babies turn into these strange sock-monkeys...

Well in that case, Congratulations on your new born child!

That is a cute kid CTC Command. He is just a bit younger than the age group I look after during the holidays (5-7). Such a great age. Their take on the world can be highly amusing. Although the older ones (8-12) can be a relief to work with when it comes to instructions. They chose not to listen, rather than simply don't understand. lol.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
