  3. He wasted no time getting back into the studio once he was released from prison, and Rowdy Rebel is showing that he's a force to be reckoned with in the Rap game. The Brooklyn artist was dipping his toes into the pools of fame when he and Bobby Shmurda were sent to prison, and while the world awaits the release of the "Hot N*gga" rapper, fans are excited to see Rowdy enjoying his first months out. For his Friday (February 12) offering, Rowdy Rebel returns with "Jesse Owens," a song featuring additional vocals from Nav. The pair boasts about the finer things in life over a Pro Logic production, and this single is rumored to be included on his forthcoming debut studio album. 4. She's been teasing the possibility of an upcoming project and now we've received a glimpse as to what to expect next from Sevyn Streeter. The accomplished singer is not only a performer but has helped pen some of our favorite tracks from other artists, and on Friday (February 12), Sevyn returned with her single "Guilty" featuring Chris Brown and A$AP Ferg. Sevyn and Chris's friendship and working relationship have spanned years and "Guilty" isn't the first time they've united in the studio. The last time we Sevyn released music was back in October when she delivered "Kissez," a follow-up to her September release, "HMU." She's promised that a new project will arrive sometime in 2021, and until that time comes, stream Sevyn's "Guilty" with Chris Brown and A$AP Ferg and share your thoughts. 5. They already created magic when they joined forces on Nas's last album King's Disease, so they decided to get together one more time for the Judas and The Black Messiah soundtrack. We previously reported on Jay-Z and Nipsey Hussle's "What It Feels Like" entry to the star-studded compilation, and another standout among the many included is "EPMD" from Nas and Hit-Boy. This track, much like the others on the soundtrack, effortlessly supports Judas and The Black Messiah, a Black Panther-centered film that stars Daniel Kaluuya and LaKeith Stanfield. Nas speaks about the errors people make in the streets by mishandling information, especially in our social media-driven culture. Stream "EPMD" and let us know what you think. 7. Next month marks five years since the passing of A Tribe Called Quest icon Phife Dawg, and as Hip Hop continues to celebrate his legacy, it's also gearing up for a new project. It was recently announced that Phife's posthumous album Forever is on its way, and to solidify the project's arrival, we've received the lead single "Nutshell 2" featuring Busta Rhymes and Redman. These three are arguably a few of the greatest rappers to pick up a microphone and "Nutshell 2" is the perfect postscript for the late rapper's 2016 release, "Nutshell." “We are excited about the partnership with AWAL for Malik’s posthumous album release,” Phife Dawg’s family previously shared. “We give all glory to God for allowing Malik to accomplish everything his heart desired, including his solo music. He worked really hard to complete his album before he transitioned, and he was ready to share an album that was near and dear to his heart with his fans. His fans meant the world to him.” Stream "Nutshell 2" and share your thoughts. 8. Last week, fans were treated to an interactive documentary when The Marathon Live Visual Album premiered on YouTube, and now they have received more music from Nipsey Hussle. Next month marks the two-year-anniversary since Nipsey was gunned down in front of his Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles, and his memory has been kept alive through his art, community initiatives, and business partnerships managed by his loved ones and estate. Earlier this week, we received news that Nipsey and Jay-Z had a collaboration on the horizon, and right on time, it's arrived. "What It Feels Like" comes courtesy of the Judas and The Black Messiah soundtrack as it helps to lay the foundation of the powerful film starring Daniel Kaluuya and LaKeith Stanfield. 9. Artists remix and give their creative takes on one another's songs all of the time, but Yung Bleu has a bone to pick with Tory Lanez. Back in October, Yung Bleu shared the Drake-assisted remix to his single "You're Mines Still," a track that fans were excited to receive. It's been racking up streaming numbers for both artists and on Thursday (February 11), Tory Lanez emerged with his remix to the duet. It was up briefly before Lanez returned to say that he uploaded the incorrect version, but while the Daystar rapper figures things out on his end, Bleu has come forward to call Lanez out. Rick Kern / Contributor / Getty Images"Remixes cool but show love ! Y’all n*ggas weird !" Bleu wrote in the caption to an Instagram post. "@torylanez I reached out to u on some let’s work sh*t. "I hope it ain't take you long to record that song," he quipped. "I hope you ain't spent no lotta money, twelve hours in the studio recording that song," said Bleu. "'Cause as soon as you upload that b*tch on YouTube, that b*tch finna come straight down. So, go get ya money back, go get ya refund, go get a receipt. You didn't tag me, you didn't show love. 10. It's not uncommon for established artists to seek features from lesser-known creatives for their projects, but one rapper is claiming that Safaree Samuels took advantage of him. The Breakfast Club was discussing the recent reports that Kevin Hart was defrauded out of over $1 million from his hired personal shopper. The radio hosts took calls from the public, listening to stories where people say they "got got." One man called in to reveal that he lost $1,000 after DMing Safaree's blue-check Instagram account. Paras Griffin / Stringer / Getty Images“This how he got me. He hit me up first actually on Instagram,” said the man. “He was like, ‘Yo, your track is hot.’ This a big producer... He told me that he could do a little promo for me, throw my track on Spotify, on the playlist for me and all that for $1,000. So, I paid him, and weeks and months go by. So, I’m hitting him up. He said, ‘Oh, I forgot you on this tape so I got you on the next project.’ It was supposed to drop in November. So, after November, he completely stopped responding and he basically got me out of $1,000, so I just have to take my L." The man further explained that the first project from Safaree was supposed to drop in September and then follow-up in November, so he has chalked it up as a financial loss. However, there have been scammers taking advantage of artists, as well, and DJ Envy explained to the caller why he doesn't believe Safaree has anything to do with it. Dia Dipasupil / Staff / Getty Images"There's these people that do mixtapes," said Envy. "If you see a bunch of different artists, they'll say, 'Hey, we'll put you this mixtape.' They pay the artist to host the mixtape and the artist hosts the mixtape, they get ten songs from ten different people. And when they get the 10 songs, the artist does the drops and they put the mixtape out. It probably wasn't him, it probably was a company like that that does the mixtape type of thing." Listen to the man explain his situation below. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/ZqvwOlqmZUcView the full article
  11. A wild night out has caused Morgan Wallen to face the grips of Cancel Culture. The beloved country music star was capture on video calling someone a "p*ssy ass n*gger," and after the clip went viral, Wallen became a trending topic. As many called for his music to be pulled from radio stations and the like, Wallen's fans rallied together to support the singer. He found himself on the receiving end of an over 300 percent increase in record sales, but he has come forward once again to apologize for his actions. Rich Fury / Staff / Getty ImagesWallen has been feeling the effects of the consequences of his n-word use as his label has reportedly suspended him and his songs have been axed from playlists. On Instagram, the singer shared a five-minute video where he expresses regret and tells his supporters not to praise his action. “The video you saw was me on hour 72 of 72 of a bender, and that’s not something I’m proud of,” he said. "I accepted some invitations from some amazing Black organizations, some executives and leaders, to engage in some very real and honest conversations," Wallen added. “They had every right to step on my neck... to not show me any grace, but they did the exact opposite. They offered me grace and also paired that with an offer to learn and grow... That kindness really inspired me to dig deeper on how to do something about this.” “This week I heard first-hand some personal stories from Black people that honestly shook me, and I know what I’m going through this week doesn’t compare to some of the trials I heard about from them. I came away... with a clearer understanding of the weight of my words.” The country singer ended his video with a Bible verse and a message to those who have come to his defense. “Please don’t. I was wrong. It’s on me to take ownership for this and I fully accept any penalties I’m facing. The time of my return is solely on me and the work I put in.” Check out his video below. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/Y9aJBU-OH7oView the full article
  12. It's become one of the leading social media apps in the world and TikTok doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. The TikTok wave increased greatly last year when the world was locked in under a global pandemic, and its popularity has continued as we've seen "Stay Home" mandates lifted. Artists—new and established—are finding that their songs are climbing the charts thanks to challenges and dances, but Tyrese reportedly believes that TikTok is only appropriate for a certain age group. Drew Angerer / Staff / Getty Images"I'm gonna go ahead and say it cause it should be said..... TikTok needs to have an age limit," wrote the actor in a since-deleted Instagram post. "Some of y'all whole grown ups are out here looking CRAZY for views..... While your 9 year old at home like 'Mom/Dad you're uploading videos everyday, dancing looking crazy end ain't made dinner in 3 weeks..... Facbook, IG and Twitter..... All of this other sh*t is fir kids." Tyrese isn't alone when it comes to this assessment of the app; TikTok initially was a place for teens and young people to gather together, but the average age of users went up as the app amassed a greater following. Do you think the older generation of users needs to get off of TikTok? http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/iVkkV2s-B5UView the full article
  13. We didn't have "people requiring surgical help for using super glue on themselves" on our 2021 Bingo Card, yet, here we are. February started off with a bang after Tessica Brown revealed on her TikTok account that for the last month her hair hasn't moved. The viral sensation shared that she'd used Gorilla Glue spray adhesive on her hair, causing it to stay in its slicked-down style for weeks. After going viral and receiving tips, a doctor in Beverly Hills, Calif. helped Brown remove the glue and now, she's feeling much better. However, that doctor may be busier than he thinks after it was reported that a man named Len Martin used Gorilla Glue to adhere a cup to his lip. According to multiple reports, Martin didn't believe Tessica Brown's story so he decided to a little experiment by applying glue to a red Solo cup and then checking whether or not it would stick to his face. The answer: it did. “I thought she was just playing around; I didn’t think it was that serious,” Martin revealed to Fox 8 News. “All these challenges going on, I thought, ‘I’ma go ahead and try it.’ And it went backwards.” He said he wanted to prove that Brown was exaggerating her situation but in the end, he earned himself a trip to the hospital. Martin believed he could just "lick it off," but when that didn't work, doctors had to execute a "painful peeling" to remove the cup from his face. He's been told to care for his injuries by covering the afflicted area for upwards of three weeks and if it doesn't heal correctly, he will have to undergo surgery to remove the tip of his lip. Like Brown, Martin insists that he didn't pull off the stunt in order to gain recognition. "But if it helps, it helps and if it doesn't, it doesn't—but that's not what I did it for. I don't want to be sitting up here like this. You've got Valentine's Day coming up; I can't even kiss my own lip." Gorilla Glue has already released a statement about Brown's experience, emphasizing that their products are not to be used on any parts of the human body as the warning label states. We haven't heard this much about Gorilla Glue...ever. Check out Martin's post below. [via][via][via] http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/zN_8t9Gn9-sView the full article
  14. Nelly is more than thrilled to hear his "Hot in Herre" hit receive new life through Erica Banks's "Buss It," and now her single is back with a remix. The Dallas rapper's breakout hit has caused a worldwide viral craze on social media after "Buss It" gained traction on TikTok, and now the 1501 Certified Entertainment/Warner Records artist has landed a coveted feature from fellow Texan Travis Scott. On the remix to "Buss It," producers switch up the beat to complement the Cactus Jack mogul's flow—a cadence that we hear straight out of the gate from the beginning of the song. Erica continues to hold down the hook and closes out the track, making for a remix that fans will enjoy. “My gift for recognizing talent put Erica Banks on my radar, and I knew I wanted her to be a part of what we’re building at 1501 Certified Entertainment," said Carl Crawford, CEO of 1501 Certified Entertainment. 15. He's been living his best "money ain't a thang" life for a while, but Lil Yachty took time today (February 11) to reflect on his past. Five years ago, Kanye West premiered his Yeezy Season 3 fashion collection at Madison Square Garden. Artists including Ian Connor, Young Thug, and Lil Yachty posed for the rap mogul's fashion line and while the latter had a buzz going on in the industry at the time, Yachty revealed the reality of what was going on in his life. Paras Griffin / Stringer / Getty Images"Today 5 years ago I stood in the yeezy show," Yachty tweeted hours ago. "I was still living with my mom and flew on a buddy pass to New York with probably $70 bucks to my name.. but I was mad excited and I feel like my life changed from this day on. My mom and friends cheered me on via text. Thanks Ian.<3." Back in 2016, Yachty spoke about his inclusion in the fashion show and how it created opportunities for him in the industry. "I was originally supposed to be standing in the very back," he said at the time. "Then right before the show, I saw the director, 'Excuse me, ma'am, don’t you think I should be in the front? Don't you think I have the great hair, and the color matches the clothes?' They switched it around and like bam, they put me in the front. That opened doors for me. A lot of fashion doors opened up after that." Those monumental moments have continued to stack for Yachty throughout the years as he's topped the charts, earned RIAA-certified plaques, and has become one of the most sought after rappers in the industry. Not to mention he's been flexing his new luxury lifestyle any chance he gets. Check out Lil Yachty's tweet below. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/_P2ZsawuNsgView the full article
  16. Over the last couple of seasons, Kawhi Leonard has blossomed into a fully-fledged superstar, and as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers, he has been able to turn the team into championship contenders. While last season ended on a sour note, Leonard seems determined to put the Clippers in a position to win it all this year, and fans can't wait to see how it all plays out. Recently, Leonard was being interviewed by the media, when he was asked about his admiration for Allen Iverson, who is a legend to many of the young players in the league today. Leonard told Tomer Azarly of Clutch points that he loved the way Iverson played, and that while they have different playing styles, he turned out to be a massive inspiration. “Just his gameplay,” Leonard said. “How hard he played…He played both ends. Just seeing that team with the Sixers, bringing them to the finals and carrying them by himself. That just resonated with me. His will not to give up.” Back in 2001, Iverson took a depleted 76ers team to the NBA Finals, and while he didn't win, that playoff run will forever live in infamy. Leonard knows what it's like to carry a team on his back, and this season, he will be hoping to do the same. 18. Breakups can be difficult, and with Valentine's Day quickly approaching this weekend, emotions are high. The world was given an inside look into Lamar Odom and Sabrina Parr's romance as the couple shared their high and low moments, but once they broke up, things turned sour. Lamar accused Sabrina of holding his passwords to his social media hostage while she expressed that he had many issues to work on outside of their relationship. They've both been appearing on podcasts and shows where they've discussed their split, and recently, Lamar suggested to Wendy Williams that Sabrina had a sexual encounter with Tristan Thompson. Frazer Harrison / Staff / Getty Images"There was some things that kinda always made me look at her out the corner of my eye," he told Williams. "Yeah, like when she told me that she had slept with my ex-wife's significant other. C'mon Wendy, you can put that together. I don't say names if I don't have to but..." After his comments went viral, The Neighborhood Talk spoke with Odom's rep who clarified why the former Los Angeles Lakers star decided to air out his ex's secret. "Lamar only shared what he said on Wendy because he is transparent about his past, especially, with his ex-[girlfriend] Sabrina spreading lies about him," the rep reportedly said. "He felt it was time to share his truth including one of the reasons that Lamar questioned Sabrina and her intentions in the relationship. After all he’s been through he is now healthy and happy living in a new city." It's been reported that Khloe already knew about Tristan and Sabrina's past. Sabrina hasn't responded to the allegations. [via] http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/19-H_pO2BlQView the full article
  19. Tom Brady is fresh off of a Super Bowl victory that gave him the seventh title of his illustrious career. At this point, there is no disputing that Brady is the GOAT, and if you say otherwise, you are simply just a hater. Just yesterday, Brady got to celebrate the big win with his teammates, as the Buccaneers took to the waters of Tampa for an epic boat party that saw a lot of alcohol consumption in a very small amount of time. Now, however, Brady is about to head back to reality, as he has a minor recovery ahead of him for this offseason. According to NFL reporter Rick Stroud, Brady will have a small surgery on his knee, which is meant to simply clean up some of the soreness he had to face throughout the season. At the age of 43, it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that Brady needs to go through these procedures every once in a while. Brady has always tried to keep his body in shape, and this surgery will help him get back up to speed faster for next season. Hopefully, everything goes well for the legendary quarterback, and he can continue playing at a high level next season. 20. For four years now, the bread and butter of the Adidas Yeezy brand has been the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2. If you're a sneakerhead, then you have probably owned a pair of these at some point in your life. Back in 2016 and 2017, the shoe was putting out hit after hit when it came to new colorways, and since that time, Kanye West has been flooding the market with an abundance of models that look very similar to the last. Regardless, the silhouette always sells out, and now, yet another 350 V2 is on the way. This latest colorway is called "Ash Stone," and as you can see from the official images below, it has the perfect color scheme for the Fall months. The shoe has a mixture of beige tones all throughout the primeknit upper, meanwhile, the stripe on the side is orange, which gives the shoe that iconic "Beluga" look that longtime fans will immediately recognize. Overall, it's a clean colorway and one that many will be familiar with. The offering is supposed to drop later this month although an exact date has yet to be revealed. 21. Last fall, Fox News successfully argued in court that no "reasonable viewer" actually believes Tucker Carlson, and the federal judge overseeing that defamation case agreed. About five months later, Tucker Carlson has made some pretty egregious allegations about the late George Floyd, and while several people know that the Fox News commentator's comments are ridiculously false, they are definitely taking his actions as a journalist seriously. In the clip, which aired on Fox News on Wednesday, February 9, Carlson claims that the Democratic Party used "the sad death" of George Floyd to "upend society." That exaggeration is just the tip of the iceberg however, as the political commentator then twists the facts from Floyd's autopsy to create a narrative that Floyd, the man who infamously died after being pinned to the ground under MPD Officer Derek Chauvin's knee for over eight minutes, "almost certainly" died of a drug overdose. Fentanyl intoxication was indeed listed as an underlying cause of death in George Floyd's autopsy, but the Hennepin County Medical Examiner said that the chief cause of death result from "cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual restraint, and neck compression." Carlson's televised statemen was a blatant manipulation of the truth, but seeing that he has survived similar scandals in the past, the Fox News contributor is unlikely to face any significant consequences. 22. If you have ever played the XBOX exclusive Gears Of War, then you have probably heard of the Lancer. This weapon is an absolute unit as it features automatic rounds and a chainsaw underneath, which is perfect for shredding your enemies while in close combat. The Lancer has been the signature weapon of Gears Of War for years, and with each new game, the gun continues to dazzle fans and etch its name in the video game history books. In fact, some people even have lifesize replicas of the gun, which are used to hang up on the wall. Now, it seems like Quavo owns a unique interpretation of the Lancer, except this one, appears to be functional. In the video below, you can see Quavo standing near a field in Puerto Rico, all while wielding an impressive gold gun. The chainsaw attached to the bottom of the gun is fully functional, and Quavo seems to be enjoying himself as he points the gun into the distance. Based on Quavo's Instagram story, it seems like this gun could be used in an upcoming music video, which makes a lot of sense considering just how outlandish it really is. We're sure some weapons enthusiasts will be inspired by this clip, however, as the entire make up of it is fairly interesting. 23. Wendy Williams' love life has been quite the topic of discussion as of late. During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Wendy discussed initially dismissing rumors of her ex-husband cheating. Evelyn Lozada apparently warned Wendy that her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, was cheating on her, and buying shoes for other women in Lozada’s Miami Dulce store-- Wendy admittedly owed Lozada an apology. The talk show host also spilled the tea on her relationship with Eric B and her alleged one night stand with Method Man. Now, Williams is in pursuit of a lucky new bachelor-- undoubtedly something that we will get to see play out on her TV show. As reported by Page Six, an e-mail from Fox producers read, “Wendy Williams IS BACK ON THE MARKET! We are looking for fun men that can handle Wendy.” The 56-year-old is looking for a man between the ages of 40 and 65 based in the US. Other than those two qualities she is “casting a wide net,” and assuring people “this is not a joke.” Despite this, an insider who received the email claims that Williams may be looking for someone high profile to be in a relationship with adding, “not a schlub from the street.” The deadline for submissions is February 11th, suggesting Wendy may be hoping to find a Valentine for Lover’s Day. Since filing for divorce from Kevin Hunter in April of 2019, Williams has been rumored to be with multiple men including jeweler William Shelby, DJ Boof, a wealthy doctor, and Los Angeles-based fashion designer Marc Tomblin. She was even rumored to be dating Whitney Houston’s ex, Robyn Crawford which she denied. We'll keep you posted on Wendy's new lucky man. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/3vujhVJJHs8View the full article
  24. A few summers ago, we all laughed at the video that showed Offset putting Cardi B on to Playboi Carti. When listening to an unreleased collaboration between Offset and Carti, Cardi B's face visibly turned up, and she quickly asked Offset, "Who this is?" The hilarious exchange between the couple even made its way to the Whole Lotta Red rapper, who referenced the moment in a tweet that read, "wHO THiS is???? playboi cahti." Apparently, that moment may have lit a spark in Cardi B's head, because today, the "Up" rapper revealed that she's been hiding a Cardi x Carti collaboration in a series of since-deleted tweets. According to screenshots captured by Upoxx, Cardi clapped back at a fan after they brought up one of her tweets from 2017 which claimed that she has never directly asked an artist to feature on her music. While doing so, she surprisingly revealed that she has a song with Playboi Carti that she's been harboring for a while. "I don't know why this is circulating & trending again but imma make it very clear," Cardi tweeted in response to the fan. "The only people I wanted was 21 savage & playboi carti .I actually still Carti verse safe but he turn his verse in late. This was a trap record so I only wanted trap artist ." Continuing her response, the Invasion of Privacy artist wrote, "I always said this ...I always been shy to ask for features That's why offset always did it for me .He aksed 21 & playboi and the features on my album .Don't come to my page begging and trolling for answers then when I give it ya get mad .WTTFF !" With this newfound information about her secret Playboi Carti feature, it's kind of mind-boggling that such an unexpected collaboration exists. If it ever sees the light of day, are you tuning in?
