  1. Bruiser Brigade kicked 2021 off to a great start already. So far, we've released two albums from the label -- J.U.S's GOD GOKU JAY-Z and now, Fat Ray's Santa Barbara -- roughly a month apart from each other. All signs are indicating that we could be getting monthly drops from the label with Danny Brown sitting at the driver's seat. As the executive producer of both projects, he left his fingerprints across both projects while also delivering a few guest verses. On Santa Barbara, Danny Brown assists Fat Ray on a gritty East Coast-influenced, "Dopeman Heaven." The two rappers swap tales of the streets and the struggles of the dope trade Press play below on Fat Ray and Danny Brown's new collaboration, "Dopeman Heaven." Check out Santa Barbara here. 2. OnlyFans became the place for adult entertainers to make bank during the pandemic, but when Bhad Bhabie suggested that she may join the site, many people were concerned. The 17-year-old has been a social media star ever since she burst onto the scene as a 13-year-old out of control child on Dr. Phil and now, she's a rap star with over 17 million followers on Instagram alone. However, her age continues to be a talking point as the teen weighs her OnlyFans options and clarifies what the public can expect if she decides to add her name to the growing list of celebrities making their way to the app. Gregg DeGuire / Stringer / Getty Images"Let me make something super clear I said I would not make a only fans to show my naked body but I'm not opposed to making one for my fans to see different content and b able to interact with me on another app," she reportedly wrote on her Instagram Story. "Still haven't made up my mind tho bc ppl think only fans is only used for f*cking and sucking and naked girls." There have been dozens of celebrities who have made a pretty penny via OnlyFans—some rumored into the tens of millions. Not everyone has gone the nudity or sexual route and instead use the platform as an opportunity to create exclusive content and personalized chats with fans for a fee. Still, Bhad Bhabie's age remains an issue for the public. Check out her post below. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/eg151R8IJmcView the full article
  3. Danny Brown is getting more comfortable taking on the leadership role of the Bruiser Brigade collective. The rapper is only a little over a month removed from dropping J.U.S.'s GOD GOKU JAY-Z through his label and now, he's following up with another drop from Bruiser Brigade. Detroit legend Fat Ray unleashed his latest body of work, Santa Barbara through the label today. Danny, who serves as the executive producer, shared the project on Twitter, calling it the "best album ever." With 12 tracks in total, Fat Ray enlists Danny Brown and Bruiser Wolf as guest features on the project while a majority of the project's production comes from Raphy. Black Milk and Crisfantom also contribute to the project's production. Check out Fat Ray's new project below. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/t339FmvFAbwView the full article
  4. As America waits for the next installment of stimulus checks to hit bank accounts, Moneybagg Yo is boasting about his financial come up during the pandemic. It's safe to say that 2020 was the curveball that no one expected as the global pandemic has caused thousands of businesses to permanently close while just as many others are still struggling to stay afloat. Millions of people found themselves jobless while others attempted to adjust to working from home and the entertainment industry was placed on pause as studios figured out a new gameplan. However, some artists have been able to make the pandemic work in their favor, and Moneybagg is celebrating his accomplishments. Mike Coppola / Staff / Getty Images"Not gone lie I made a couple Ms in da pandemic, ion want it to end," the rapper tweeted with a smiling face, 100, and shrugging emojis. "I feel like the pandemic help a lot of people." Moneybagg Yo was quickly met with pushback as the public reminded him that over 485K people have died from COVID-19 in the U.S. alone and many continue to face financial hardships. The backlash didn't go ignored and Moneybagg returned to make things right. "I apologize to everybody I offended my comment was very insensitive it was not my intent to hurt anyone." Do you think people were being too sensitive? Check out his tweets below. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/MM3i7YSigB0View the full article
  5. Birdman's been in the game for nearly 30 years and has managed to build one of the biggest empires in hip hop. He's been a driving force behind the success of artists like Lil Wayne and there's no doubt that his guidance helped shape Young Thug into the superstar he is today. Birdman's run in the rap game is like none other and he's still standing today with wealth to show for it and plenty of stories to tell. Earl Gibson III/Getty ImagesBirdman celebrates his 52nd birthday today. Even a few years into his 50s, Birdman is looking healthy as ever. The rapper shared a shirtless photo to the 'Gram that properly showcases his collection of tattoos including a portrait of Lil Wayne on his chest. "52 any weather built 2 last," he wrote, seemingly comparing his body to a Ford. "Evrryday of life is a BDAY #STUNNAMAN," he added. Being that he is Birdman, we'd only hope that after upwards of 30 years in hip-hop, he'd be treating every day as if were his birthday. While Birdman has been relatively low-key in recent times, he has hinted at retiring in the future. Last summer, he hopped on Young Money Radio with Lil Wayne where he discussed releasingLike Father Like Son 2as a farewell project. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/b5TIMLr-n9YView the full article
  6. It's been over three years since Migos released their last studio album, Culture II. There have been many developments in their personal and professional lives in the lead up to Culture III yet the singles that they've dropped haven't necessarily been memorable. There was "GNF" with Travis Scott that failed to stick, despite how good it looked on paper. Each member also delivered solo albums and those didn't necessarily satisfy fans, either. By the time they teased a new single called "Birkin," fans said they fell off. Neilson Barnard/Getty ImagesThroughout everything, they've maintained that a new album would be arriving in the future. 2020 was a write-off due to the pandemic and any chances of performing were canceled so it wasn't shocking that we didn't see Culture III drop last year. However, it seems that they're just about ready to begin the rollout. Just a few weeks ago, Migos unveiled a trailer for their forthcoming project and following the Super Bowl, they made sure to let fans know that they were back in the studio. Even last night, when Quavo was out to dinner with Saweetie for Valentine's Day, he found a way to squeeze a bit of work in. Paparazzi flashed pictures as fans approached Quavo while he left the restaurant, asking for autographs and an update on the release of Culture III. "It's comin' real soon. Less than a month and a half," he said as he entered his car. Hopefully, the recent criticism from Akademiks, and other fans, influenced the Migos approach to the third installment in the Culture http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/hYL6Gj3RgtsView the full article
  7. We've all experienced witnessing viral overnight stars in the past — remember Rebecca Black? — but none have come close in recent times to comparing to Tessica Brown aka "Gorilla Glue Girl." Being that this fairy tale ended on a positive note, with Tess getting her hair fully restored thanks to a $12,500 surgery that she received for free via medical hero Dr. Michael Obeng, we figured it was worth giving a happy update. First, take a look at how it all began. In all honestly, if Tessica doesn't make it in hairstyling, makeup or blue contact lens tutorials, she definitely has a future in comedy should she choose to go down that route. Even though her hair being Gorilla Glue'd down to her head for a full month wasn't a laughing matter in the least bit, her delivery of the news made it pretty damn hilarious. Thankfully she's moved on to a shorter 'do that hopefully won't give her the same problems as last time, although we doubt she'll be putting Gorilla Glue anywhere near her mane anytime time soon. In addition to a fresh hairstyle, Tessica Brown is also doing some good by taking majority of her $20,000 GoFundMe earnings and donating money to the Restore Foundation, which according to TMZ provides reconstructive surgery services for people around the world. Oh, and in case you were wondering, the barber didn't charge her for the new cut given all she's already been through. We shouldn't have to say this, but please do not try this at home for the sake of viral fame — def not worth it, ock! Peep Gorilla Glue Girl's new and healthy haircut below, and let us know down below in the comments section if you think Tessica Brown has another 15 minutes of fame left in this viral moment she's got going for herself at the moment. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/lE02iCcPt14View the full article
  8. Fans of Wendy Williams were not happy this Sunday when her ex-husband Kevin Hunter used Valentine’s Day to make his new relationship official. Hunter posted a photo to Instagram of him and Sharina Hudson holding hands. The relationship between Hunter and Hudson is one that began while Williams and Hunter were still married, Hunter welcoming a new baby with Hudson before he and Williams had even divorced. The Instagram photo, which currently has more comments than likes, is captioned, “QUEEN & SLIM ....back @ it again!! LOL..CELEBRATE YOUR QUEEN ELEVATE YOUR KING! ENJOY!!!!” Fans certainly had a lot to say about the post, many commenters warning Sharina about Hunter’s inevitable future infidelity. “You are really a poor excuse for a man,” one commenter wrote. “Keep talking about your ex wife’s parenting does NOT take away from the fact that you cheated on her for YEARS and had the NERVES to have a baby on her. Stop trying to deflect from your bullshit! Be a man and admit that what you did was wrong.” Ouch! Another commenter added, “Slim & queen ending don’t go well. Yikes! hopefully ur queen don’t end up cheating on u too.” Some fans remained hopeful but cynical of the relationship, saying, “She may be your queen but she was sleeping with a married man for years! Hopefully it works out. Smh.” The relationship between Hunter and Williams has been nothing but rocky since the start, Williams revealing in her recent Lifetime documentary that she’d found out about Hunter’s cheating very early on in their relationship. The couple didn’t finalize their divorce until January 2020, months after Hudson gave birth to her and Hunter’s child. Things are certainly messy. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/z4Mvss8B-1gView the full article
  9. 22Gz has been at the forefront of the Brooklyn drill scene before its explosive arrival into the realm of mainstream music. From the release of "Suburban" to 2020's Growth & Development album, he's maintained an uncompromised authenticity in his music which is why many gravitate towards him. Last month, he made his feelings about Staten Island's CJ evidently clear following the success of "Whoopty." The rapper went off on CJ, saying the rising MC is giving him "6ix9ine vibes." Just a day later, he cemented his feelings on wax with the release of "Goofy/Back In Blood." During a recent interview with AllHipHop, 22Gz explained why he felt the attack is warranted. As mentioned, he's among those considered a forefather of Brooklyn's drill scene and his real-life experiences are what propelled him towards stardom. He explained that he doesn't feel that CJ is actually rapping about his authentic life, especially by using terms like "Whoopty" that have been largely associated with gang culture. "I just want people to know what the truth is, we gon keep it 100. Especially [since] this drill rap. There's a lot of rappers in this category who been through some real s***, so we ain't just gonna have somebody come [and] make this whole s*** some flawed, fake s***," said 22Gz. Ultimately, he wasn't looking to bully or antagonize CJ but he did want his credit with hopes the "Whoopty" rapper would tap in. "I didn't even say that to really expose boy, but it's like hey if he can lie about that, why wouldn't ya'll think he'd take my whole s*** and run with it?" continued the rapper. "I wouldn't even mind. I just wanted the credit for my s*** because I done gave sauce to damn near everybody in the city and nobody tapped in. Even the opps use my s*** -- all the lingo you see, all the dancing, that's mine." When it comes down to the Tekashi 6ix9ine and CJ comparison, 22Gz explained that those were the two biggest artists to jack his swag without giving him credit or even hitting him up. For 6ix9ine, it was the whole Blicky phrase that he popularized on "GUMMO." CJ, it was the sound of drill and the use of "Whoopty." CJ recently sat down with HNHH for the inaugural edition of our new editorial series, Rise & Grind, where he discusses the origins of "Whoopty," his upcoming EP, and Wu-Tang clan. 10. Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers scared fans yesterday as he went down with what appeared to be an Achilles injury in a game against the Denver Nuggets. Davis was completely pulled from the game and didn't come back, as the team was looking to take every precaution necessary. Davis has been dealing with an Achilles injury over the past few weeks, and his return to action on Sunday only made things worse. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Davis received an MRI this morning and it ended up showing a strain in his calf, as well as swelling in his Achilles. These injuries will keep Davis out of the lineup until mid-March, although the Lakers could keep him out for longer if they feel the need to. For now, the Lakers and Davis have agreed to a more conservative approach here, as they don't want Davis to get hurt worse before the playoffs. AD is integral to this team's success, and they can't afford to lose him, otherwise, their championship hopes will be dashed. Now, LeBron James will have to carry the weight of the team on his back, as AD seeks to get better. This is a season unlike any other, and it's important to give your players the best chance at getting healthy possible. At this point, the Lakers seem committed to doing just that. 11. Ari Lennox has been putting in solid work for the Dreamville team, having released her acclaimed album Shea Butter Baby in 2019 -- not to mention a few key features on the acclaimed Revenge Of The Dreamers 3 compilation project. And though she hasn't quite taken over the mainstream, at least not yet, that doesn't mean Ari doesn't have a few major hits to her name. As it happens, the Dreamville melodist recently secured herself a RIAA certified platinum plaque for her titular single "Shea Butter Baby," which also features an assist from J. Cole. Scott Dudelson/Getty ImagesHaving been originally released on the Mike WiLL Made-It curated Creed II soundtrack, Ari brought the track back for Shea Butter Baby, though it's safe to assume that it was always meant to be a crucial part of her debut album. And now, it's also Lennox's bestselling track to date, with the sensual and intimate video currently boasting over forty-two million views on YouTube alone. All things considered, it's not exactly surprising to see her taking home a shiny new plaque for this one; perhaps she'll find "BMO" upgrading from gold to platinum before long. Either way, congratulations to both Ari Lennox and J. Cole are in order. Hopefully we'll see some new music from both parties shortly, as the time certainly feels right for another rush of Dreamville drops. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/me-JFZxds5YView the full article
  12. If you're tired of hearing about this recent Meek Mill vs Tekashi 6ix9ine altercation, imagine being the one that has to cover it by the minute! In all seriousness though, the situation is starting to get a bit out of hand now that Wack 100 is included in the mix. Following a very public exchange Wack and Meek had earlier, it appears that your favorite Dreamchaser is literally laughing his way though some serious social media pettiness. Image: Brad Barket/Getty Images for 105.1We wouldn't be surprised if there were more responses by now, but it looks like Meek has taken to the comment sections on multiple photos that Wack 100 recently posted to clown him for all sorts of things. On one post that features Birdman in it, Meek wrote, "Stock sucking bird man dick too for opportunity lol you ain't even post ya wife for vdatv [sic]" and also adding, "And you never addressed why you was biting ya man back out! You cracked the back door on ya own people you pussy for that! Where is this n***a from lol fake ass tough guy lol." On the last video we posted from Wack 100, Meek also let him have it in the comments by writing an extensive note that reads, "You a old n***a that be fighting online lol I still wanna test you from that nip shit i know you not really built..... you be tryna manipulate n****s to ride for you.... lol you posted me 3 times on Valentine's Day you a old n***a jealous of us young successful n****s." In another extended comment — Meek has a lot of time on his hands today — the Roc Nation signee also had this to say: "DM YA NUMBER AND WE CAN MEET WHEN YOU GOT TIME you a pussy you don't push ya tool lol you a internet n***a fasure .... I'm not one of these industry n****s that's fake scared of you I'm from Philly lol you better go group some ni****s up for me or something because you not really built like you talk... [sic]" So wait, Meek...you'll only video record 6ix9ine, who actually ran up on you, but reserve actual threats for Wack 100, who was stating an opinion on his Instagram account that you could've ignored? Something's not adding up here! Listen, if you think this was petty before, just read all that we posted above and then really let us know how you feel down below in the comments. Don't be surprised if we're updating y'all in another hour or so with yet another jab or response. 13. Sad news is coming out of the NFL today as former pro-bowl wide receiver Vincent Jackson passed away at the age of 38. Jackson was found in his hotel room at a Homewood Suites location in Brandon, Florida, where he had been situated for the last month. Just a few days ago, Jackson's family called the police as they believed he was missing. The following day, the police tracked Jackson down and talked to him before putting an end to the missing person's search. On Monday morning, a housekeeper found Jackson dead in his hotel room. The news has come as quite a shock to the NFL community as many have taken to social media to offer their condolences and to explain just how much of a great person Jackson really was. "My heart aches for the many loved ones Vincent Jackson leaves behind, from his wife and children to the Buccaneers nation that adored him," Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister told the media. "Mr. Jackson was a devoted man who put his family and community above everything else. Football aside, he touched countless lives through his Jackson In Action 83 Foundation. We shared a passion for supporting military families, and three years ago, Jackson was even made an honorary deputy by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office to recognize his dedication to the community. He will be sorely missed by not only football fans across the country, but also the people here in Hillsborough County who reaped the benefits of his generous contributions.” According to police, no signs of trauma were found, and authorities are in the midst of an investigation. Meanwhile, an autopsy will be done in the coming days to figure out the cause of death. Our condolences go out to everyone who is affected by this tragedy. 14. Last year, Busta Rhymes came through with Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath Of God, an album that many in the hip-hop community declared to be one of 2020's best. Especially Busta's own peers, who made sure to give the legendary rapper his flowers -- including Havoc, who actually praised ELE2 as the strongest project of the year. And while it might have been the perfect place for Busta to ride off into the sunset, many are hoping to see him continue to ride the momentum. Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty ImagesAll the more so after the Dungeon Dragon took to Instagram to share a picture of a recent meeting of the minds, one that found him connecting with three fellow rap legends in Cam'ron, DMX, and NOREAGA. "LEGENDARY!!!" captions Busta, alongside the epic pic. "@mr_camron x The Dragon x @therealnoreaga @dmx. WHAT ELSE ARE WE DISCUSSING???" While it would have been enough to see the four lyricists together without the possibility of collaboration, Busta's cryptic question certainly implies that something is indeed on the horizon. It's entirely possible that the link-up happened around the time DMX and NORE connected for "Drink Champs," a conversation during which many gems were unearthed. We can only hope that one of the parties involved shines a little more light on this one, as hearing all four lyricists join forces for a "Never Scared Remix" style posse cut would be a most welcome development. 15. Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri was on an emotional high just seconds after his team won the NBA Championship back in 2019. As any President would, Ujiri made his way to the court to celebrate with his team, when a sheriff's deputy named Alan Strickland immediately began getting hostile. The sheriff eventually shoved Ujiri and the whole thing was caught on camera. Despite Strickland being in the wrong, he opted to file a lawsuit against Ujiri, which had been going on for the better part of a year. Recently, Strickland decided to cancel the lawsuit, ultimately vindicating Ujiri for something he never actually did. Today, Ujiri penned a message to Raptors fans, where he explained what this all means to him, and the emotions he has faced over the past year. "I have decided my fight isn't a legal one," Ujiri said. "Now, the challenge is this: What can we do to stop another man or women from finding themselves in front of a judge or behind bars because they committed no crime other than being Black? That is the work that each one of us must commit to, every day." Strickland has claimed that he faced physical and emotional distress as a result of the altercation, but considering the bodycam footage is now public, it's clear that his allegations were way overblown. Now, Ujiri can rest easy knowing this is all behind him. Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/88tje0p7btYView the full article
  16. Joey Fatts is preparing for the release of a brand new project in the coming days. G Way 2 is set to arrive this Friday which was sled with the single, "Never Said It's Right." The single dropped last week but before he unleashes the new project, he slides through with an ode to nostalgia with his new record, "Better Days" ft. NHale. The rapper paints a vivid portrayal of his childhood in Long Beach with detailed storytelling over spacey production. NHale's bluesy tone perfectly complements the hazy production and Fatts' laid back flow. The rapper's new project will serve as the sequel to his November 2020 project. Check out Joey Fatts' new single with NHale, "Better Days" below and sound off in the comments with your thoughts. 17. Over these past couple of years, the Nike Dunk has made a huge comeback. While the Nike Dunk Low has mostly stolen the show in this circumstance, there is no denying that the Nike Dunk High is just as important. Last year, numerous classic Nike Dunk's made their return to the market, including the Nike Dunk Low in the iconic "Syracuse" colorway. Now, Nike is going back to the Syracuse aesthetic, this time with the Nike Dunk High. In the official images below, you can see how the sneaker completely stays true to the original. The base of the shoe is constructed with white leather which we can see on the toe box, the side panels, and even the back heel. From there, all of the overlays and the Nike swoosh are a vibrant shade of orange, that gives the shoe a perfect summer creamsicle feel. If you're a fan of the Nike Dunk High, you can't go wrong with these, and they will be dropping soon. March 10th is the official release date for these, and they will be released in full family sizing, which means you can keep the whole family laced up. 18. Sorry y'all — this is not a post announcing a new Rihanna x Popcaan collab off her as-yet-untitled upcoming (?) album. However, it is a photo of your favorite "bad gal" posing topless in her Savage x Fenty lingerie while quoting Popcaan lyrics. Hey...we'll take what we can get at this point! Image: Roy Rochlin/Getty Images The iconic pop diva posed in a pair of silk Savage x Fenty boyshorts and nothing else, and accompanied the flick with a caption that reads, "When @popcaanmusic said “me nuh wan ya wear no lingerie tonight fa me girl @savagexfenty." Of course, reggae and dancehall fans will recognize those lyrics from Popcaan's single "Naked" off his 2018 sophomore album Forever. Rih-Rih took the lyrics literally by getting half-naked herself, and fans in the comments couldn't have been more intrigued. Rapper Bia simply wrote, "MISS THING!!!!!," meanwhile Insecure actress Issa Rae flexed her comedic prowess by writing, "The boxers come with the body?" Other comments were equally as amusing, including actress Vanessa Hudgens ("Hooooooooootttttttt"), rapper Dreezy ("The girls is sittin pretty period"), fellow 2000s R&B diva Christina Milian ("Umm, yes.") and budding pop baddie Chloe Bailey ("omg [heart emojis] how are you so beautiful"). It's clear that the masses love them some Rihanna — who doesn't?! — and we're just glad she's confident and self assured enough to show it all off with confidence and a bit of mystery. In short, that Rihanna reign still won't let up, even after all these years! Take a look at Rihanna, the baddest of them all, as she poses topless in Savage x Fenty and quotes Popcaan lyrics. The only things that would make this better is if it came with, you know, an album with fire features and even better visuals to match. Not asking for much, right? 19. Tekashi 6ix9ine might appear to be a terrible human but that's not what he actually is, according to his lawyer, Lance Lazarro, who recently spoke out against Supervillain docuseries director Karam Gill. Bob Levey/Getty ImagesEarlier today, an interview with Gill was published to PageSix where he details his forthcoming docuseries on the viral rapper, Supervillain. Initially hesitant to hop on board, Gill said that he felt this story was necessary to tell, especially in the social media era. "We’re living in the era of manufactured celebrity, where people can create inauthentic online personas and rise to fame without any talent or morals. Tekashi’s story is exactly that — he’s someone who realized the power of having your own platform," he explained. Still, after examining 6ix9ine's story, he felt like the media and public perception of him was because 6ix9ine is a "truly horrible human being that has done terrible things." Lazarro fired back at Gill in a statement to TMZ where he explained that the director of Supervillain never met his client, so he isn't qualified to make that call. Lazarro explained that 6ix9ine wasn't actually involved in the docuseries, either, but ironically, he believes this is a way to grab attention before Supervillain debuts on Feb. 23rd. Lazarro added that anyone who personally knows 6ix9ine should look at the work he's done for terminally ill children. "He has a great heart," said Lazarro. 20. G-Eazy is in album mode, as evidenced by the release of his two singles "Provide" with Chris Brown and the recent "A Little More." And with his new project set to arrive in the imminent future, G-Eazy took a moment to chop it up with Elliott Wilson for an extensive conversation, speaking on his experiences collaborating with both Breezy and Weezy alike. Michael Tullberg/Getty ImagesAfter revealing that Chris Brown was one of the first major artists to co-sign him, G-Eazy praises the multi-talented singer's humility and willingness to show love to his peers. "We've had some heart-to-hearts about music," explains G-Eazy. "It's an unusual life, living as an artist. The touring, the go-go-go, people being in your business. The highs and lows. It's something only certain people can understand." G-Eazy also makes sure to give props to Lil Wayne, who is set to appear on his upcoming album. "It's the record I have with Lil Wayne," teases the rapper. "It's so significant to me because Carter 3 and the whole mixtape era that came prior to that, the ascension of Wayne, hits particularly hard to me. As such a fan in those years of my life, 2005-2007, that's when I was coming of age, beginning to find my voice in hip-hop. And he was on top of everything, he was on the top of his game. And I moved to New Orleans in 2007." "Fast forward a few years, I was managed by Tez, and my first big tour I got taken on was with Lil Wayne," he continues. "To bringing him out at Coachella and putting him on his first Coachella stage -- he never played Coachella yet. Getting to be that guy who brought out Lil Wayne...It's one of those things, like being able to spar with your hero. And it's a real hip-hop record." 21. Ever since John Wall went down with an Achilles injury a couple of years ago, Bradley Beal has been carrying the Washington Wizards franchise. His statistics are absolutely off the charts and some nights, it feels like he is scoring 40 points without a second thought. Now, Beal is on a roster with Russell Westbrook, and despite the latter's MVP status, Beal still finds himself as the central player on the team. During a discussion with the media, Beal explained exactly what it's like to be considered a franchise player, and how he doesn't take it for granted. Beal also mentioned how he wants to help build this Wizards team and see them improve over time. Patrick Smith/Getty Images“It’s a blessing because you don’t take it for granted,” Beal said. “You understand there’s only 450 guys in the NBA and there’s only 30 teams and every team has a quote-unquote star or superstar on their team, a franchise guy and for the Wizards to entrust me with that, that’s an honorable position, one that I don’t take for granted, that I don’t take lightly.” While the Wizards have been off to a rough start, they have shown flashes of brilliance, and if this team gets it together heading into the All-Star break, they could position themselves for a playoff spot battle near the end of the regular season. The key to all of this will be Beal who continues to display bonafide superstar potential. 22. With well over 25 years in the game, Statik Selektah continues to deliver top-tier rap music whenever he drops a mixtape or an album. In 2020, he unleashed The Balancing Act which included appearances from artists like Nas, Joey Bada$$, Conway, and many more. For anyone complaining about the state of hip-hop music, Statik Selektah has been releasing music to satisfy your palette. This morning, Statik Selektah came through with a gift for his fans in the form of an instrumental album. With 16 songs in total, Statik wipes the vocals from each track on the project to allow fans to soak in his production in its purest form. "Before this, I was with my daughter till eight-thirty or when she goes to bed, then I hit the studio, hit the club, the after-parties, the craziness, the nightlife," he explained in an interview with Kazi Magazine. "Then it started all again the next day bringing her to school and picking her up. It was the balancing act for me. This year, it’s just been 20 times more of a balancing act." http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/IzJAtT2zQL4View the full article
  23. As NEF The Pharaoh prepares to drop his upcoming album SINsational, the Vallejo-bred emcee decided to bless us with the project's latest single titled "Mentions" which features equally talented rapper DaBoii. Image by HNHHThe collaboration is led by a very familiar soul sample if you're a fan of Anita Baker, with the track incorporating a loop of her chorus from the classic ballad "More Than You Know" off her GRAMMY-winning album, Compositions. The R&B vibes balance out the hard-hitting street shit that both NEF and DaBoii are spitting, giving "Mentions" a familiar hip-hop soul feel that was all over the charts in the 1990s and early 2000s. Whether or not these two are bringing that sound back is subjective, but one thing we can say is that this collab alone makes us very excited for SINsational to drop. The album is set to include 13 tracks, with features ranging from Derek King and the aforementioned DaBoii to Mari Taylor, Offset Jim, Chris O'Bannon and Miami Tha Most. Overall, it appears that the Bay Area emcee is looking to pull this one off primarily on his own with a few dope voice to assist. We're here for it! Listen to "Mentions" by NEF The Pharaoh and DaBoii right now, and be sure to check for and pre-order SINsational over on his social media platforms. Also, take a look at the official music video down below as well: Quotable Lyrics: Been on the road a whole month, now my babymomma b*tchin' Bullets hotter than tea bags, now you limping How many doors you opened up, NEF? More than they know I took some L's on the chin; I'm the bounce back pro I was just in a stolen car, seat back low I got game and I spit it hard, to teach that hoe http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/0_DG_a0F1tMView the full article
  24. In the days of yore, even the most deep-seated squabble could be settled the old fashioned way. And while the duel has long fallen out of favor in this digital world of ours, that's not to say it's gone entirely extinct. The tradition was recently revisited by RiFF RAFF of all people, who took issue with the fact that Tekashi 6ix9ine has been running around picking fights. Exhausted by the controversial rapper's antics, RiFF RAFF decided to challenge 6ix9ine to a clean gentleman's fight, winner-takes-all with two million on the line. Chris McKay/Getty Images"Hello @6ix9ine i see that you like to attempt to start fights with Real Artists that have police records to where if they were to kick your ass in a parking lot then they would go to jail and fuck their money up," captions RiFF RAFF, alongside a clip of his training regimen. "So I, Dale Dan Tony, which (No Felony record) would like to turn the tables and play your game with you as well as Up the Stakes." "I challenge You @6ix9ine in the boxing ring for $1,000,000 cash," continues Jody. "We both put $1,000,000 in a glass case at a Pay Per View event and the winner takes all. I will be training starting today and I suggest you do as well. I will give you 3 months of training as well. See you in the RING you little mosquito. Oh and did you really think you could steal my Rainbow Braids and shark grills and then NOT have to eventually pay the Prada Piper ..... Good Luck 69 you will be 69ing the announcers table when I know you thru the ropes my dear lad.. Let’s Get it." Of course, it's highly unlikely that 6ix9ine will accept RiFF RAFF's challenge, especially given that it's set to be a one-on-one battle. Judging from the sound of it, however, RiFF RAFF is not ready to let this one slide under the radar. His grudge runs deep, and as an originator of the rainbow aesthetic, a debt must be paid. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/2W1uZJLfcGcView the full article
  25. Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers are currently fifth in the Western Conference standings, with a record of 16-10. What makes this particularly impressive is the fact that players like Jusuf Nurkic and CJ McCollum are currently out with injuries. This means Lillard has been forced to carry the team on his back, and with every single game, he continues to impress fans and his peers. While speaking to Jason Quick of The Athletic, Lillard spoke about his season, and how he's had to pick up his game in the absence of some key teammates. In fact, Lillard believes he is making an MVP case for himself, and it's hard to argue with him. Ezra Shaw/Getty Images“It hasn’t been all me. I don’t think it’s been — ‘I’ve done everything’ — but obviously without CJ, I’m going to have more responsibility,” Lillard said. “Without Nurk, it’s going to be more responsibility, communication and just recognizing moments. There are a lot of things you have to be aware of and that you have to take action when you recognize it, that can impact your team winning. And I think I’ve been on top of that. “That’s what you see in MVPs. And obviously, I see myself at the top of the league. I’m one of the best players in this league, and I feel like I’m on that level. And the way our team is playing given our circumstances makes it even more obvious to me.” McCollum and Lillard have formed a dynamic duo over the years and without the former in the lineup, Lillard is asked to do the impossible. So far, however, he has delivered, which is a huge sign for this Blazers team moving forward.
