  1. Given everything he has contributed to hip-hop throughout his storied career, The Alchemist has no shortage of fascinating stories gleaned from countless studio sessions. Today, the producer opted to share one from the vault, penning a heartfelt reflection in honor of Roc Marciano's 43rd birthday. In addition, he shared a snapshot from a studio session between Marci and Prodigy, who ultimately worked together on collaborations like "Death Sentence" and "In Heaven's Home." Johnny Nunez/WireImage/Getty Images"I’ll never forget this day. Watching two of the greatest voices from NY in history/ two of the most important voices for me put the forces together," begins Alchemist, sharing a snapshot of the recording session that brought Prodigy and Roc Marciano together. "I remember around this time @rocmarci music was giving me the same feeling i would get from a P or Nas . I told P when he came home, played him Marcberg . He agreed. we all linked for “Death Sentence” on Albert Einstein. After that they would reconnect and go up even more on “Heavens Home” which still haunts me when i listen to it." Alchemist & Budgie ft Prodigy and Roc Marciano - "In Heaven's Home""In the last 10 years Roc has gone on to build an entire empire & nobody deserves it more if u asked me," he continues. "Aside from being a leader & innovator with the pen , his style of production also opened up a whole lane of its own . And dare i say that his pen is actually GETTING BETTER ! In the 10+ years weve been rocking together we built a friendship outside of the music business , which is very rare in this game. I never take any of it for granted. Happy arrival day @rocmarci thanks for being a great human and inspiring all of us !!" Check out Alchemist's heartfelt message to his friend and collaborator Roc Marciano -- who also happens to be one of the most consistently acclaimed lyricists currently putting out music right now. Not only that, but Alchemist's post also shines a light on the late Prodigy, himself a formidable lyricist and one-half of the legendary Mobb Deep. Check it out for yourself, and show some love to some real emcees in the comments below. Happy birthday Marci! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/BwOk6buQ0JMView the full article

  3. Quando Rondo ended the year with a lot of media coverage stemming from his connection to King Von's shooting death. The Savannah, Georgia-based rapper was present on the scene where King Von lost his life. His associate, known as Lul Tim, reportedly fired the shots that ended Von's life after the rapper seemingly sucker-punched Quando, as allegedly seen on video. As Von's murder suspect remains behind bars, Quando is off the hook as it has been revealed that the rapper is not under investigation. He has been moving around freely, appearing to be pretty unbothered about his connection to King Von's killing. At times, Quando has gotten pretty menacing with his threats on social media. He continued that activity with a new picture, posing with a couple of his homies, Crip bandanas, and guns. "On Ralphie Grave I’m thirsty For Some [blood]," wrote the 21-year-old rapper on Instagram. "These N***as Think Sh*t Sweet Aint nobody Safe Not Even My kind , From Now On It’s My Way Or The Grave yard And I Mean That Sh*t." Quando Rondo doesn't seem to be playing around anymore, and he's definitely ready to tell even more of his story on his upcoming release. The rapper has been teasing his next mixtape, saying, "Y’all B*tCh Ass N***az Keep Smaccin Y’all Lipz And Shakin Y’all Ass ! Y’all Really Gone Hate Me When My Tape Drop !" What do you think about Quando Rondo's recent activity on social media? http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/SB-rQLYowNsView the full article
  4. Over the past few decades, the NBA has been bubbling into one of the most popular sports leagues in the entire world. Athletes like LeBron James and Steph Curry are international superstars, all while teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, and Boston Celtics, are household names all around the world. As a result, many of these teams are worth billions of dollars, and their valuations continue to increase, regardless of the product on the court. Recently, Forbes put out its annual list of most valuable teams, and some of the names here shouldn't surprise anyone. As it stands, the New York Knicks are the most valuable team in the league at $5 billion, while the Warriors come in second at $4.7 billion. From there, the Lakers are third ($4.6 billion), all while the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics are fourth and fifth at $3.3 billion and $3.2 billion, respectively. Despite the Knicks' poor results, Forbes explained while the evaluation is so high. Michael Reaves/Getty ImagesPer Kurt Badenhausen: "The Knicks have lost nearly 70 percent of their games over the past six seasons and won only one playoff series since 2000 and have still managed to retain the No. 1 spot. The team's valuation is largely a result of the $1 billion renovation of MSG, a blockbuster local TV deal and the team's place in the largest and richest North American sports market." Teams that have new arenas like the Golden State Warriors have been able to increase their worth, although for now, it seems like the Knicks will remain at the top thanks to their market, and newly renovated home as Madison Square Garden. All of the teams in the top 5 have a ton of history, and we doubt the order will flip, anytime soon. 5. It's been ten years since we last received an album from Bad Meets Evil, the diabolic partnership forged by Detroit emcees Royce Da 5'9" and Eminem. And though there have been a few hints indicating that a sequel is on the horizon -- for the most part, Bad Meets Evil 2 falls firmly into wishful thinking territory. As such, it feels appropriate to highlight one of the project's highlights, especially in light of our recent conversation with the legendary Havoc. It so happens that the Mobb Deep producer laced the album's opening track "Welcome 2 Hell," conjuring up an appropriately dark and ominous backdrop for Em and Royce to body. On that note, the track contains some of Slim and Nickel's most fluid chemistry, with each verse arranged to segue brilliantly into the next. Should they indeed look to reunite for another new effort, it would certainly behoove them to bring Havoc back into the mix, as his grimy and notably dark approach speaks effectively to the group's preferred aesthetic. Be sure to check this one out now, especially if you need a reminder of why Em and Royce are revered as a duo -- would you welcome a sequel to Hell: The Sequel? QUOTABLE LYRICSGuess who just came through to blast you bitches? 6. Rapper-turned-mogul 50 Cent is known for a lot of things. On one hand, Fif is lauded for his ability to produce amazing television shows like Power and For Life, but on the other, the "Many Men" rapper is known for his unrelenting antics. Today, 50 Cent's infamy grows as it appears that his packed out Super Bowl party this past weekend has allegedly cost the venue that hosted the party everything. According to HipHopDX, Fofty's venue of choice, Sky Addict Aviation, is reportedly facing major consequences after hosting the massive Super Bowl party. The raging bash allegedly was filled with hundreds of maskless people, completely disregarding COVID-19 health and safety precautions. While some fans may have minimized 50 Cent as just the latest celeb to throw a COVID-oblivious shindig, the industry veteran quickly caught the attention of St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman. Now that the dust has settled from Super Bowl weekend, reports have surfaced that Sky Addict Aviation's actions have led to the venue's lease being terminated. According to HipHopDX, the venue -- which had just renewed its lease this past December -- now has six months to pack up and leave the 3,000 square foot hangar and office space. It's unfortunate news for Sky Addict Aviation, but this development will likely make similar venues think twice before hosting events that flippantly contradict COVID-19 protocols. 7. Tom Brady triumphed once again last Sunday as his Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in order to win the Super Bowl. It was one of the most impressive victories of Brady's career and now, he has seven Super Bowl championships to his name. Yesterday, the Bucs got to celebrate their big win in Tampa Bay, and the team ended up taking to the water, where players could be found celebrating on massive boats. Brady was on a boat that cost upwards of $2 million, and the quarterback was certainly feeling the effects of some of the beverages that were flowing throughout the afternoon. In fact, at one point, Brady could be seen chucking the Lombardi Trophy off of the boat, as he went to pass it off to the boat behind him. In the clips below, the act seemed pretty hilarious and dramatic, with Brady's son warning his father not to go too far. Clearly, the Buccaneers were having an amazing time on Wednesday and they have every right to. Not many people were giving this team a chance at the start of the season, but in true Tom Brady fashion, he was able to prove us all wrong. Moving forward, this team will be looking to repeat, although first, we imagine some more drinking will be in order. 8. It's no secret that Future is a pretty toxic man. He's basically made that into his brand, and he embraces it. He seemingly doesn't have the best luck in relationships, ruining just about every romantic union he's entered in the last few years. Recently, he seems to have turned a new leak with Dess Dior, who he genuinely seems to care deeply about, so hopefully, we're witnessing a change. However, we've seen him be pretty toxic with his comments toward his exes, especially Ciara, with whom he shares a son. The former couple has had their contentious moments, but at least one side is moving on with maturity. Ciara and her husband Russell Wilson spoke about Future's toxicity during their recent cover story with GQ, and it seems like they couldn't care about the rapper at all. Frazer Harrison/Getty ImagesSpeaking about the first time he met Future, Ciara's son with the rapper of the same name, Russell Wilson said, "When I got to meet Future, he was young. And the reality was that for me it was a blessing and an opportunity to really hopefully be there for him every day and try to care for him in a way that was important for me, that I always wanted someone to do for me. Like my dad did for me. And so I think the greatest thing that I’ve ever learned in life is probably in that relationship with Future, because the reality of being a stepparent is that biologically they’re not necessarily yours, but the reality is that you have to love them as if they are. They’re your own blood in a way. You get to love them that way. And I think every kid deserves that and needs that and yearns for that." Jon Kopaloff/Getty ImagesAsked directly about the elder Future's toxicity in the media and if it made things hard between him and Ciara, Wilson said, "I don’t think anybody made it hard. I think it was easy for us. I think it was about us. It wasn’t about anything else. It was about how we were going to love, and for me it was easy. It was easy to love. It’s easy to love C—every day I get to love her and take care of her and our kids is the greatest gift I have. So I cherish that every day." Ciara chipped in, saying, "And I will also say from day one we’ve been living life for us. Russ—I mean, he did talk about, you know, how he feels and this passion from a father’s perspective, but what’s always been beautiful about Russ is just to see him from day one, excitingly jumping in and changing diapers." While I may be wrong, it certainly doesn't feel like Future is the diaper-changing kind. Ciara leveled up and found herself someone that is going to forever be her partner. You love to see it. 9. There's a reason Young Nudy has become a cult favorite since first emerging as one of many rising voices from Atlanta. Where many of his contemporaries were content with adapting to the ubiquitous sound, Nudy pushed himself to explore more experimental beats, to the point where some of his most acclaimed projects were lined with whimsical and off-kilter bangers. Even to this day, with his new album Dr. Evil steadily on the way, Nudy tends to prefer uncharted territory. Scott Dudelson/Getty ImagesCase in point, the rapper recently took to Instagram Live to preview one of his many unreleased tracks, presumably drawn from the upcoming Dr. Evil. Instrumentally, the producer conjures up an intergalactic backdrop evocative of a fifties sci-fi flick; in fact, the entire aesthetic is kind of reminiscent of the old-school midwest sound explored by artists like Twista during the Adrenaline Rush era. And while he doesn't opt to chop, Nudy lets fly a barrage of g'd up bars. "Yeah, real n***a killin shit," he warns. "Threat, yeah I am a villain bitch / Flex, and I come and take your shit." At this point, Nudy has yet to fully detail his plans for the next big release, though it should be noted that his IG Live previews are often followed-up by the single's arrival. Perhaps this will be the case here -- either way, keep an eye out for more updates on Young Nudy as new developments surface. 10. A rapper's chain is emblematic of their entire personality. It's viewed as an important purchase for a star-in-the-making to continue establishing themselves. Generally, a rapper will go toward the extravagant, icing out a gigantic cartoon character à la Gucci Mane or commission a jeweler to make something that represents you at your deepest point. Or, if you're Lil Uzi Vert, you might forgo the entire chain situation and just get a $24 million pink diamond implanted into your face instead. Over the years, Kodak Black has stunted his signature chains around Florida, much like Lil Yachty has done in Atlanta. Kodak is known for repping 1800 Block in Pompano Beach, getting his hometown emblazoned on a chain. Lil Yachty, referencing his name, has an anchor iced-out in diamonds. Both rappers have multiple pieces that they alternate, so it's not a big deal if one of the necklaces falls out of rotation. On Wednesday night, Kodak and Yachty pulled off a chain switch, swapping necklaces and posing for one of the hardest pictures of the year. Following his $50,000 gift to Yak, whom he lobbied with Trump to pardon, Lil Yachty took a picture with Kodak as they met up, handing each other their respective chains as a show of unity. For two rappers that once seemed to be awkward around each other (or at least, they seemed to be during their 2016 XXL Freshman Cypher), they've certainly become good friends. In other Kodak news, the rapper was rushed to safety after a recent show when his security noticed a red beam shining on his stomach, either from a laser pointer or a gun. 12. Saweetie believes that opposites do attract, telling the Black Is Love panel, moderated by Angela Yee and including Ts Madison, Codie Elaine Oliver, and Devyn Simone, about what she's learned about Quavo during the pandemic, what it's like dating somebody in the same industry, and how the Atlanta rapper taught her how to love. Jon Kopaloff/Getty ImagesFacebook Dating hosted a new panel called Black Is Love, where Saweetie chimed in about what Black love means to her and how to prioritize self-love while dating. Speaking with moderator Angela Yee and panelists Ts Madison, Codie Elaine Oliver, and Devyn Simone, Saweetie said that she isn't the most affectionate person, but that Quavo is. He essentially taught her how to love, she says. "I think opposites do attract, [Quavo's] such an affectionate person and I'm not, but it's because of my upbringing," she said, explaining that her parents used a tough-love approach on her. "I'm so excited to watch that series [Black Love] because I would love to see a healthy way of how to love. So definitely opposites do attract and he's a loving man and he's taught me how to love." Vivien Killilea/Getty ImagesAs for what the pandemic has taught her about their relationship, Saweetie says that she learned how to cook some of his favorite foods, getting creative because of Quavo's pickiness. "[During the pandemic] I learned how to cook his favorite food, but that’s about it," she said. "Steak, pasta, and broccoli with cheese. Because he doesn’t like vegetables, so the only vegetable he’ll eat is broccoli with hella cheese on it." Finally, Saweetie says that she's happy she found somebody in the same industry, realizing that people outside of music likely wouldn't understand her hustle. "It does really help, talking to somebody who is doing what you're doing because lifetimes ago I've dated other people and when they don't understand the hustle, that brings conflict because they're not necessarily as supportive," said the Icy Girl. 13. Following confirmation that one of the most acclaimed stories in gaming history -- Naughty Dog's The Last Of Us -- would be adapted as an HBO TV series, many were eagerly awaiting to see the casting for protagonists Joel and Ellie. As both characters are beloved members of the PlayStation canon, brought to life by the talents of Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, the stakes were undoubtedly high. The Last Of Us: Story TrailerYesterday, HBO and Last Of Us director Neil Druckmann confirmed that Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey were officially tapped to play Joel and Ellie respectively. Though he has since gained newfound attention for his starring role in Disney+'s fan-favorite The Mandalorian, many were first introduced to Pascal through his scene-stealing performance as Oberyn "The Red Viper" Martell on Game Of Thrones. Evidently, whoever was casting The Last Of Us must have been a Thrones fan, as Bella Ramsey is also an alumnus of the acclaimed series -- she played Lady Lyanna Mormont for three seasons. Rodin Eckenroth/FilmMagic / Dave J Hogan/Getty ImagesPascal took to his own Twitter page to celebrate the news, channeling the Joel spirit with one of his notable quotes. Neil Druckmann appeared particularly thrilled about the casting news, taking to his own Twitter page to share an update. "We're absolutely thrilled to have Bella join the TLoU family!" he writes. "Aaaaand there’s the other half. Stoked to have Pedro aboard our show!" Though we have yet to receive word on an official release date, it's safe to say that The Last Of Us is easily one of the most anticipated new series on the horizon -- especially in the wake of this casting news. 14. Sidestepping the typical Friday release date, Smokepurpp follows up his 2020 effort Florida Jit with a quick new EP, titled PSYCHO (Legally Insane) EP. Over the past years, the 2018 XXL Freshman and Soundcloud rapper at large has worked with artists such as Rick Ros, Jack Harlow, and Denzel Curry, and he's also even become a Grammy-nominated artist thanks to his scorching contribution to Dreamville compilation album Revenge Of The Dreamers III. With the release of PSYCHO, Smokepurpp is bursting into 2021 with a lot of energy, and its first track, "Prom Queen" is already gaining traction early on. The song features a muted, nostalgic sample weaved into a hard-hitting drum pattern, and following its release yesterday, the Florida artist has already complemented "Prom Queen" with a prom-themed music video. In the song's irresistible hook, Smokepurpp boasts, "I was selling acid to the prom queen," and so the visuals, show the "Costa Rica" rapper posing from prom pictures with all of his different dates. The video, like the song, is short and sweet, which falls right in line with Smokepurpp's characteristically lightning-quick records. Are you feeling Smokepurpp's new music? 15. Since first arriving to the game as a lovable and mischievous scoundrel proudly pledging allegiance to the Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All movement, Tyler, The Creator has since evolved into a dynamic, adventurous, and occasionally experimental artist. In truth, there's even a case to be made that the Grammy-nominated rapper has undergone one of hip-hop's most notable musical transformations -- case in point, compare his recent Igor project to his formative projects Bastard and Goblin. Tyler, The Creator - YonkersStill, though many enjoy Tyler's current style, there remains a strong appreciation for some of his earlier cuts -- especially those on which he absolutely snapped. There's a reason "Yonkers" endures as a fan-favorite to this day, even ten years removed from its initial release. For those who remember the launch of Tyler's breakout single, the dark and lyrically-driven track immediately launched him into the mainstream eye, with its eerie video conjuring a refreshing dose of horrorcore vibes. Ten years later, the clip has amassed one hundred and thirty million views on YouTube alone, a testament to its status as a classic chapter in the Tyler canon. So much so that the rapper took to Twitter to celebrate the track's anniversary yesterday, saying little but still managing to evoke nostalgia all the same. "Ten years young," he writes, proof that he still looks back fondly on the early days, even if he has largely left the world of shock-rap bars behind. Check out Tyler's tweet below, and sound off if you think "Yonkers" is a modern hip-hop classic. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/NGSGusXsfboView the full article
  16. There's seems to be a lot of jealousy in Blac Chyna's family, even from her own mother. While their relationship has shown to be toxic at times, Tokyo Toni's latest comments about her daughter's success are extremely hurtful. Chyna's mother sat down with Tasha K for an exclusive interview, where she spoke about her daughter's success, admitting that she doesn't feel proud of her. Arnold Turner/Getty ImagesWhether you like her or not, Blac Chyna has proven that's she's here to stick around for the long haul. She's messy at times, but that's what her fans love about her. The reality star should count on her family to hold her down at the end of the day, but it looks like her mother isn't even her fan. During her sit-down with Tasha K, Tokyo Toni claimed that she's not proud of her daughter's accomplishments. "It's the devil, it's the devil," said Toni when asked if Blac Chyna was the reason why they don't get along. "We're nothing alike. She mimicked me, just like Nicki Minaj did, just like Cardi B and everybody else. Mimicked me. But there's only one of me, how about that?" Amy Sussman/Getty ImagesNow, you know we're not just gonna let that comment slide about Nicki Minaj and Cardi B supposedly mimicking Tokyo Toni. That sounds delusional. But, moving on. She continued her attack of her daughter with more uncalled-for comments. Tasha pressed Toni, telling her there's actually two of her because of her daughter. She wasn't happy about that. "No, it's one of me and it's one of her in which we're two individuals on two different paths-- not of love, but of every day," she said. "No, I'm not [proud of her]. I'm saddened by [what she's accomplished] because I know why she received it. She couldn't receive the same things without doing the things she's done by hurting people. By hurting her nannies, by hurting her friends, by embarrassing her family, by hurting her mother. So, to accomplish all of these things and have all that put on the line, no I'm not [proud]. But on the other side of it, I'm very proud that she has the things that she has. She don't have to sell ass and she ain't gotta go strip. So, on that tip, Mama proud, baby." 17. Even though he doesn't still don his trademark red braids, Lil Yachty is still the same eccentric rapper that burst onto the Atlanta rap scene years ago with songs like "One Night" and "Minnesota." Last year, the Lil Boat rapper dropped off one of his best albums yet with Lil Boat 3 and its subsequent deluxe version Lil Boat 3.5, giving fans insane records like "T.D" featuring A$AP Rocky, Tyler, the Creator, and Tierra Whack, "Pardon Me" featuring Future and Mike Will Made It, and "Flex Up" featuring Playboi Carti. While the aforementioned songs showcased more of Lil Yachty's grungy rap sound, one highlight from Lil Boat 3.5 that brought Boat back to his pop crossover roots was "Asshole" featuring Santa Cruz artist and filmmaker Oliver Tree. Months after its release, Yachty and Oliver have linked up once again to drop a wonky music video for the song, and in addition to starring in the video, Oliver Tree directs it as well. The video begins with Oliver performs a heist in Yachty's bedroom, taking the rapper's popular Sailing Team chain. After Yachty awakens, he hunts Oliver down and eventually captures the thief. From that point on Yachty holds Oliver hostage and starts torturing him, at one point even dragging him through the street on a motorcycle. While it sounds horrifying, the video for "Asshole" is actually pretty vibrant and playful, complementing both Yachty and Oliver's offbeat aesthetics. 18. Tom Brady just won another ring at 43-years-old. Quite possibly the best player to ever step onto a football field, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback is also one of the greatest overall athletes in sports history. While some would argue that LeBron James, Michael Jordan, or somebody else is a better well-rounded athlete, others can use the fact that Tom has more rings than any individual NFL franchise as ammo in this case. That's a tremendous stat and it provokes conversations in other worlds-- specifically in hip-hop, where things are also ultra-competitive. Mike Ehrmann/Getty ImagesAs you know, people are always trying to out-flow, out-perform, and out-rap their peers in hip-hop. The genre is built off competition, zoning in on the best of the best on the microphone and their respective areas. The @RapCaviar account on Twitter wondered aloud if there was a Tom Brady of the rap game, and while people argued that Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, or Kendrick Lamar were suitable to hold that title, one Memphis legend had something to say, inserting himself into the conversation. "Me," tweeted Juicy J, letting his track record speak for itself. As a core member of Three 6 Mafia, Juicy J has made a lot of history. He's had a wildly successful career as a solo rapper too, lending his voice to some of the hottest songs of the last few decades. But is he on Tom Brady's level? 19. It feels like it's been a minute since Young Thug spoke openly about Punk, his previously-announced follow-up to 2019's So Much Fun. And while he has been relatively quiet about his future plans on the solo front, Thugger has confirmed that the YSL collaborative-album Slime Language 2 is on the way -- in fact, the label has confirmed that another new single from the project is due out this coming Friday, February 12th. In tandem, Thug has taken to his own Instagram page to hype up another new track, this one featuring an assist from Meek Mill and T-Shyne. C Flanigan/Getty ImagesFrom the sound of it, Thugger appears to be steering away from his melodic approach and lining up a banger. Over an instrumental fueled by synthesized horns and uptempo percussion, Thug sets it off. "Abracadabra my bitch way badder," he spits, his restrained cadence an interesting juxtaposition with the hard-hitting beat. "Muthafuck a trend, I be with my kids in the spot cause family matter / everything else you speaking about might get your ass whipped like a paddle." Though it sounds like Thug's verse might actually be a chorus, it's also possible that the track is utilizing a similar structure as Lil Durk, Lil Baby, and Polo G's "3 Headed Goat." Unfortunately, the snippet cuts out before we can get a more thorough picture. Either way, it's promising to see Young Thug embracing one of his more beloved styles, a development that bodes well for those hoping to catch him in his rap bag. Check out the snippet below, and sound off if you're excited to hear this one drop -- whether it's on Slime Language 2 or Young Thug's next solo album. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/atWt7FT8VSsView the full article

After running out of her usual hair adhesive, Tessica had the not-so-bright idea of getting her hair set with Gorilla Glue and, if you've been following the story, you know that she hasn't been able to remove the glue from her hair for weeks. While the move was silly, Tessica has seen her fifteen minutes of fame extended as her Instagram account was verified, she gained nearly one million followers, and she got a free offer from a plastic surgeon to remove the mess she created. At last, Gorilla Glue Lady no longer has Gorilla Glue in her hair. Capturing the procedure on video, Tessica Brown's scalp can finally breathe as Dr. Michael Obeng performed the $12,000 procedure free of charge, helping out the viral lady. It took approximately four hours and, as you can see, she even managed to keep some of her hair! Brown has been keeping people on her journey towards her glue removal procedure, trying multiple at-home remedies and even taking a trip to the ER, which prompted her to consider suing Gorilla Glue for a lack of better instructions on their products. 21. She's been publicly grieving the loss of King Von ever since he was senselessly murdered back in November, but Asian Doll hasn't been off of her grind. The 24-year-old rapper has been sharing bits of her new music and clips of herself with her crew in the studio, and at the top of Thursday (February 11), Asian Doll returned with the music video to her single, "Nunnadet Sh*t". At the beginning of the clip, the Dallas artist showed off her acting skills before grabbing a few of her girls and even more of their favorite firearms as she expressed that she's about that life. The fast-moving, colorful visual jumps from scene to scene as scantily clad women brandish and shoot off weapons while Asian Doll dismisses all things she doesn't find useful. 22. Celebrity stalkers are nothing to joke about for those who are enjoying their moments in the spotlight. In the past, overzealous fans and foes have been responsible for hurting celebrities that they claim to love and admire, and these days no one is taking any chances with their lives. We've previously reported on stars like Brandy, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, and Kylie Jenner working with authorities after being harassed by strangers, and it's being reported that G-Eazy is following in their footsteps. Jemal Countess / Stringer / Getty ImagesAccording to a report made by TMZ, G-Eazy has had a woman named Monika Andrody following him for months, even to the point of lurking outside of his Hollywood Hills home. Andrody has reportedly paced outside of the rapper's residence and even rang his doorbell on occasion, but anytime he calls the police, she's gone before they respond to the scene. The most recent interaction with Andrody was reportedly on January 15 when she reportedly showed up at G-Eazy's home in the evening, and court documents reportedly state that the rapper is concerned that Andrody will make an unwanted appearance at a public event. After filing for a temporary restraining order last week, the rapper reportedly asked for a judge to extend his protection to Ashley Benson, but that has yet to be granted. The two have been dating for just under a year and days ago, there were rumors that the celebrity couple had broken up. 23. He's readying the release of his forthcoming album On Earth, And in Heaven this Friday (February 12), and in anticipation, Robin Thicke has sat down with Zane Lowe. The award-winning singer is celebrating decades in the industry where he's toured the world, topped the charts, and collaborated with the best of the best, but a song that has been at the center of the controversy is his smash hit, "Blurred Lines." The tune was a collaboration with Pharrell Williams and T.I., but it would land Thicke in court against Marvin Gaye's estate. Jamie McCarthy / Staff / Getty ImagesA court would later award the late-great Marvin Gaye a songwriting credit after finding that "Blurred Lines" was influenced by the singer's classic "Got to Give it Up." That wasn't the only scandal to haunt the single; "Blurred Lines" lyrics were dissected as critics claimed that the song perpetuated date rape culture. Pharrell has come forward to acknowledge that the song catered to "chauvinist culture," but in Thicke's conversation with Lowe, the singer defended his piece of art. "Well, really, I never saw it that way when I sang it or performed it. Usually, the first piece, when it goes, 'Bum, bum, bum, everybody get up,' the crowd goes crazy," he said. "Even people who aren't big fans of mine, that's the only [song] they know... You just kind of take it with a grain of salt." Scott Olson / Staff / Getty Images"The reason I started all of this is because I love music, I love to make music, and then, once I started to perform, I love to perform, so I just go for that part of it," Thicke said, adding that there wasn't any intention for the song other than to make people move. "We're just jamming, everybody is meant to get up and dance. That's all the song is meant to do." 24. His last days in office were devoid of his favorite social media app, and it's been announced that former president Donald Trump won't be returning anytime soon. Throughout his presidency, Trump communicated with his global audience from dawn 'til dusk as many of his controversial tweets were trends across the internet. During the election season last year, Trump's posts were being flagged for misleading information, and soon, he was booted from the platform altogether. Pool / Getty ImagesThere were accusations that Trump had been censored and his MAGA followers found a new home on Parler, but after the insurrection at the Capitol following Trump's "Stop The Steal" rally in Washington, D.C., Parler—for now—is a thing of the past. Twitter has certain policies for heads of state and their inclusion, and because there have been rumors that Trump plans on running for office in the future, it's speculated that he could make a return. Not according to the company, he won't. “When you’re removed from the platform, you’re removed from the platform,” Twitter CFO Ned Segal told CNBC today (February 10). “Our policies are designed to make sure that people are not inciting violence. He was removed when he was president and there’d be no difference for anybody who’s a public official once they’ve been removed from the service.” Justin Sullivan / Staff / Getty ImagesThere were also rumors that Twitter suffered a great loss in users after banning the ex-president. “We added 40 million people to our DAU [daily active user count] last year, and 5 million last quarter,” Segal said. “In January, we added more DAU than the average of the last four Januarys, so hopefully that gives people a sense for the momentum we’ve got from all the hard work we’ve done on the service.” Meanwhile, Trump stated that he may build his own platform and possible political party in the future. 25. A Hollywood actress is feeling the consequences of a social media controversy today (February 10). In a recent TikTok post, Gina Carano, a former MMA fighter and actress on The Mandalorian, suggested that in these political times, being a Republican is much like being a Jewish person during the reign of Nazi Germany. "Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors," Carano said in a since-deleted post. Soon, Cancel Culture was at its mark as it rallied against Carano, and now it's being reported that her career has taken a hit. Amy Sussman / Stringer / Getty ImagesAccording to both Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, Carano is no longer being represented by United Talent Agency (UTA). It has been revealed that Lucasfilm has also issued a statement about the controversy, noting that Carano won't return to The Mandalorian amid the unclear future about her character. “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future," reads the statement. "Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.” The response to her consequences has been mixed, so check out a few below.
