  1. Despite 50 Cent's status as a seasoned internet troll, the rapper is undeniably talented. His new single "Part of the Game," which serves as the theme song for the upcoming Power Book III: Raising Kanan show, has been very well received by fans of the former G-Unit member. The song features additional support from NLE Choppa and R&B crooner Rileyy Lanez. The track has performed fairly well on the charts thus far, which is likely what prompted 50 to unveil the extended version of the record with an extra verse from the rapper at the end of the track yesterday (February 12). A day after dropping the updated version of the track, 50 also debuted the new matching visual for the song Saturday. The video depicts 50 Cent and NLE Choppa in various different scenes posing next to luxury vehicles, complete with scenes from the new series mixed in between the pans. Set in the 1990s, Power Book III: Raising Kanan is a prequel to his popular Starz series Power that will track the early years of 50 Cent's character Kanan, who dies at the end of the original series after being set up by titular characters Ghost, Tasha, and Tariq. Mekai Curtis will star as a young Kanan in the new series, while Omar Epps, London Brown, and Joey Bada$$ complete the rest of the cast list. Check out the music video for the track above and, as usual, let us know what you think down in the comments. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/J7OQyz8OoLYView the full article
  2. It's only been a few months since Gucci Mane and Jeezy squashed their tense feud. The pair went face-to-face for Verzuz where they went track-for-track. Of course, it was only right that they closed out the show with a performance of "So Icy," a record that has never been heard live before for roughly 15 years. The history of Gucci Mane and Jeezy has been told on numerous occasions but who better than to shed more insight on the topic than Zaytoven. At the center of the feud was Zay who produced "So Icy" for the collaborators. He explained how he helped Gucci Mane prepare for Verzuz and pieced together the tracklist for his Verzuz. During a recent interview with Zaytoven, he explained his appreciation for both DJ Quik and MC Eiht, especially given the tension between them. Similarly, fans who found themselves engulfed in their long-standing feud between Jeezy and Gucci likely appreciated the music so much more because of its authenticity. "I think the sport is what draws us closer to the music," explained Zay. "Anytime Gucci had a problem with somebody, or wanted to say something to somebody, I'll pat him on the back, like, 'go for it.' People wouldn't think that, but that's how I am because I'm a fan. I'm a fan of the sport." Theo Wargo/Getty ImagesOf course, Gucci's biggest beef would be with Jeezy. Despite standing firmly in Gucci's corner throughout the years, he admitted that he loves Jeezy's music. "I love Jeezy. I remember going to listen to Jeezy and I'm like, 'boy, ain't nobody harder than this man right here. He's super hard.' But at the same time, we'll go against that. Ain't nobody harder than Gucci. And I feel like that's how it was back when MC Eiht and Quik was battling, and that's what made me love it," continued the producer. Admittedly, it was Gucci Mane who put Zaytoven on to Jeezy in the first place. "Gucci was a fan first. He was the one who told me, 'Man, Jeezy so hard. He made me wanna do a song with him. He's the hardest.' And I'm like, okay, bet. Like, he put me on to Jeezy," said Zay. 3. Over the past few years, one of the most popular running shoes on the market has been the Nike Air VaporMax. This shoe was originally shown off back in 2017, with Travis Scott occupying as the face of the new silhouette. At first, many were skeptical of the shoe thanks to its bubble-like Air Max unit on the outsole, although eventually, people began to realize just how comfortable the shoe is. Since that time, Nike has refined the sneaker and it has received a plethora of new colorways and variations. As you can see in the images below, we now have a fresh look at the Nike Air VaporMax 2021, which is the latest model in the silhouette's lineup. This sneaker has a few changes, including an embroidered Nike swoosh on the sides that creates an interesting contrast with the rest of the Flyknit makeup. Interestingly, the first colorway of the Nike Air VaporMax 2021 will be very colorful, with shades of pink, green, and blue, found throughout. A release date has yet to be revealed for these although you can expect them to drop sometime this year. Let us know what you think of this new VaporMax, in the comments below. 4. On Friday, we got some new photos of Dr. Dre in the studio with KXNG Crooked, Smitty, and Focus, courtesy of Focus’ private IG account. Focus posted three of the hip hop artists in the studio together, alongside the caption “You see it!!! Group of kings…” Crooked also shared one of the photos to his Twitter account, where he Tweeted, “I told the [goat emoji] I’m on a mission with this one!” Both Crooked and Dr. Dre are originally from California, with Crooked formerly being signed to Death Row. All signs point to the west coast natives cooking up some new music in the studio, so hopefully, we’ll hear more about what they’re up to soon. For now, however, we just have these photos, but it looks like everyone’s having a pretty good time. Seeing Dr. Dre out and about is certainly uplifting for many, especially after he was forced to recover from a serious brain aneurysm in early January. Brain aneurysms are very often fatal, so the hip hop community rallied behind the megaproducer and hoped the best for his health. On January 15th, it was reported that Dr. Dre successfully made it home and would be finishing his recovery there. On Thursday, he was spotted on a dinner date with Apryl Jones in Hollywood, so he appears to be doing pretty well. In any case, it’s nice to see the music icon back to doing what he does best: making music. [Via] http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/8F9N2BL7h2YView the full article
  5. 2021 is looking to be a significant year for Dreamville. While the J. Cole co-founded label has yet to release a project this year under the imprint, their scheduled releases show that quite a few artists have albums set to arrive this year. Namely, J. Cole, JID, Bas, and Omen all are expected to unleash projects under the label this year. Cole's project already has a name, with a tentative title set as The Fall Off. Perhaps gearing up to get their monstrous year underway, the star-studded imprint announced a limited edition Valentine's Day merchandise set to go on sale tomorrow. The label announced the news on their various social channels on Saturday (February 13). Posting an adorable graphic of a brown teddy bear lying in a bed of roses while donning a Dreamville sweatshirt with 'F.$.S.' and a red heart etched on the front completed with vibey-R&B instrumentals in the background. A message reading "Spead Love" flashes on the screen before the short clip ends. Explaining the promotional video in the caption, the imprint penned, "Dreamville, Spread Love. A limited-edition Valentine's Day drop and more.... Tomorrow! #ValentinesDay." The message was completed with a bear, red heart, and rose emoji. Fans were not sure if the cryptic announcement meant the hoodie would be going on sale, or if they would be selling the bear and hoodie combo. Considering the Valentine's Day theme, it's more likely the latter. Are you looking forward to the mysterious limited edition collection? 6. Colombian singer-songwriter KAROL G dropped some new heat this past Friday on a new track featuring fellow Colombian artist J Balvin and Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA. KAROL G is primarily described as a reggaeton artist but also uses elements of trap and sertaneja, fusing her influences to create tracks that are irresistibly danceable. Her influences are clear on “Location,” which starts off as a strings-heavy country track and quickly transitions to an upbeat reggaeton beat. J Balvin, who is also Colombian-born, is widely considered to be the “Prince of Reggaeton” and is one of the best-selling Latin music artists across the world. The artist is also no stranger to awards, earning five Billboard Latin Music Awards, four Latin Grammy Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and two Grammy Award nominations throughout his career. He was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine in 2020 and has sold more than 35 million records worldwide. The music video has all three artists singing in the desert, driving high-speed vehicles through the dusty heat. Everyone is adorned in Western gear for the video, including jewel-studded cowboy hats and boots. The country-inspired video is a welcome collaboration between cultural styles and certainly shows that KAROL G, Anuel AA, and J Balvin are able to move between musical genres with ease. Listen to the new song and watch the music video below. 7. The ongoing pandemic has undoubtedly continue to hinder major releases going into 2021. However, we've still received some great music so far. This past Friday, specifically, was incredibly fruitful in the rap world, specifically with the release of Judas & The Black Messiah: The Inspired Album that included contributions from some of the biggest names. Plus, other heavyweights unleashed some new singles. As usual, we got everything you need to catch up on from Friday on this week's Fire Emoji playlist. Here's your breakdown: One of the biggest records that dropped was Nipsey Hussle & Jay-Z's collaboration, "What It Feels Like." The record, which was originally recorded eight years ago, emerges as a highlight from Judas & The Black Messiah: The Inspired Album. Kodak Black blessed us last weekend with a brand new single following his first outing since his release from prison. "Every Balmain" is a necessary listen this week. As Erica Banks continues to gain steam with the success of "Buss It," she brought along Travis Scott for the official remix. Along with those two offerings, we also highlight some new heat from Pooh Shiesty's album, Shiesty Season, a brand new hit from YSL featuring Thugger himself, along with T-Shyne and Meek Mill, and Kevin Gates' surprise drop, "Plugs Daughter 2." 8. LeBron James is still thriving at the age of 36, and at this point, it seems like he is good for another five years. Younger NBA fans have grown up with LeBron as the star of the league and when he retires, it is going to be a very sad day. For now, however, LeBron is still displaying his greatness, and fans should be enjoying it and soaking it all in while it's still here. On the flip side of that, there are some nights where LeBron faulters, leading to some hilarious blunders. That's what happened on Friday night as he missed a dunk while playing against the Memphis Grizzlies. Following the game, LeBron's former teammate Richard Jefferson asked the Lakers star about the mishap, which led to a hilarious response from LeBron, who was self-aware about the whole thing. “I don’t know, RJ. I really don’t know, man. I don’t know if everything is okay … the ‘Washed King‘ is really starting to catch up with me," LeBron explained. The "Washed King" narrative has been circulating for quite some time now although LeBron hasn't let it disrupt what he sets out to accomplish with his Lakers. In the end, the Lakers still won last night, and LeBron had 28 points in the process. Based on these stats alone, it's clear that LeBron won't be going away anytime soon. 9. After releasing his debut mixtape Shiesty Season, Pooh Shiesty has been making the rounds at various different interviews to promote the project. Awkward interview moments are extremely common, especially with invasive interviewers. The "Black in Blood" artist grew annoyed with an interviewer after he was asked about Lil Durk and King Von. "I know you and Durk are super cool and like, he was going through so much especially like, losing King Von how'd that song go about and what has Durk taught you regarding being in the studio with him?" said the interviewer in the loaded question. "Oh, you talking bout Durk," Shiesty responded, slightly confused by the question. Nodding, the interviewer continued, "How was making that song?" "What?" asked Shiesty, confused. The interviewer, equally confused, also responded with a "What?" before Shiesty asked, "What you say you said something about King Von?" The interview then goes, "Yeah, I said with Durk losing Von around 'Back in Blood,' has he shown you how it is in the music industry going through highs and lows? Pausing for a moment, he shakes his head before saying, "I don't know man, next question, rest in peace King Von." The awkward exchange prompted many to condemn the interviewer for asking such a salacious question. Others pointed out that the question was perfectly reasonable, and that Shiesty was just high in the video, causing him to not understand the question. What's your take? 10. During a protest in June 2020 following the murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, Buffalo police were caught on video pushing over a 75-year-old man named Martin Gugino. In the video, police officers advance on the man, who was not armed. When the man refuses to step back from the line of police officers, a couple of the officers reach out and push the man, causing him to fall back onto the concrete. The man then begins bleeding out of the ear while police officers move forward, stepping over him. This week, a grand jury in Western New York dismissed the charges against officers Robert McCabe and Aaron Torgalski, both of whom are seen on the video shoving Gugino. During Thursday’s press conference, Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said he did not regret his decision to drop the charges, noting that while Gugino “should not have been shoved,” he should have been arrested for breaking curfew. The two officers are still suspended for now. Martin Gugino spoke out after hearing about the dropped charges, telling WIVB News in Buffalo that, “You shouldn’t injure people. You just arrest them. What’s the problem with arresting them that would’ve been normal.” Gugino also says he and other protesters should have been allowed to continue protesting in front of City Hall, according to their first amendment rights. Watch the original video of the officers below, and let us know what you think in the comments. [Via] http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/TymjMDrtvKYView the full article
  11. Saweetie certainly has a lot to celebrate this Valentine’s Day. She and Quavo have a great relationship, she has new music on the way, and she has a loving father. The “My Type” rapper posted an old photo of her father to her Instagram on Friday, alongside the caption “My first #valentine.” The resemblance in the photo is pretty uncanny, and it’s clear where Saweetie gets her good looks from. Commenters were quick to notice his appearance too, but for a different reason. “We all trynna be his valentine,” said one commenter. “You posting but not tagging. I don’t like det,” said another fan. Twitter also had a lot to say about Saweetie’s dad. Some fans even thought to compare Saweetie's dad to LL Cool J, who often shared a similar style of baseball caps and small eyeglasses. What do you think, is there a resemblance? In addition to shouting out her dad, Saweetie has some other exciting V-Day plans. On Saturday night, she’s hosting a Galentine’s Day sleepover on her Instagram live, which will include activities like games, pranks, and tea spilling. She invites fans to dress to impress since she’ll be letting some of them on the live, telling them to “Tap in besties !!” Check out the Galentine’s Day invite below. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/NtCT5FwKZ8QView the full article
  12. JJ Watt has been a staple of the Houston Texans franchise for years although now, he will be looking elsewhere as the team officially released him this past week. This is a move that has been in the cards for a while now as Watt himself sat down with the Texans leadership and requested to be let go from the team. In the immediate aftermath, fans have been donating to Watt's charity and they have been doing so in $99 increments as a way to match his number. Watt recently commented on the matter saying that it is quite humbling although he has quickly realized that some are just trying to bribe him, as laid out in some of the messages he's gotten. It makes sense that fans would want him on their team considering just how great he has been over the years. For now, however, Watt has been happy to reflect on his time in Houston and even made a special message for fans yesterday. "I'm excited and looking forward to a new opportunity and I've been working extremely hard but at the same time, it is always tough to move on," Watt said. "I just want you guys to know that I love you, I appreciate you, I appreciate the McNair family for drafting me and giving me my first opportunity in the NFL. Thank you, Houston. I love you." Keep it locked to HNHH as we will be sure to bring you all of the latest information revolving the JJ Watt sweepstakes. 13. Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian ended their tumultuous relationship nearly four years ago, but since then they've been in-and-out of the courtroom for years after their explosive break-up. As part of the fallout, Chyna and Rob's E! series Rob & Chyna was canceled as well, which prompted the socialite to sue Kris Jenner and the Kardashians. She has just secured another major victory in the battle after a judge ruled she was entitled to a jury trial in her defamation and intentional interference with a contract case regarding the former show. Greg Doherty/Getty Images Chyna's attorney told Page Six that a California appeals court agreed with the trial judge's ruling that Chyna provided "substantial evidence" supporting claims against Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian and Kylie Jenner. Chyna's evidence backs up her claim that Kris Jenner lied about her allegation that “Chyna beat the s–t out of Rob’s face”," then allegedly used the lie to get the series canceled. “Chyna also proved that, although Kris Jenner was the ringleader for the plot to get Season 2 of ‘Rob & Chyna’ canceled, Kim Kardashian West, Khloé Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner each separately defamed and intentionally interfered with Chyna’s contract for Season 2 — so all three daughters face a trial by jury for their illegal conduct against Chyna …,” Ciani told the publication. Chyna's trial is set to begin on Nov. 29th, 2021 and she's seeking "millions of dollars" in damages. She also has an upcoming jury trial against Rob for posting illegal revenge porn of her in July 2017. That trial is also set to begin in November 2021. Amy Sussman/Getty Images “The evidence in our case overwhelmingly establishes that the claims filed by Blac Chyna are without merit and we look forward to a jury trial to dispose of these meritless claims,” Rob’s attorney, Marty Singer, told Page Six. We'll keep you updated with developments in the respective cases. [via] http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/RexhbPqDjRoView the full article
  14. Kulture lives a pretty glamorous life for a toddler, getting her first Birkin bag at the ripe age of two. Of course, it helps when your parents are both multi-millionaires and love elaborate, grandiose displays of wealth. As a pre-Valentine's Day surprise, Offset showered two of the most important women in his life with affection. On Friday (February 12), Cardi shared a series of videos on her Instagram story surveying Offset's elaborate surprise for both her and Kulture. Walking through their Atlanta home together, Kulture and Cardi were both ecstatic to see their living room was filled with beautiful floral arrangements. The decorations continued to each of their respective bedrooms, where Offset left a rose petal display in the shape of a heart on the bed, along with "Love" balloons. The decorations look professionally done, although Offset claimed to have designed the surprise on his own in this video. The Migos rapper also shared an adorable photo on his Instagram page today (February 13) hand-in-hand with Kulture as they walked on a beautiful white sand beach in front of palm trees. The Georgia native captioned the shot, "Walks on the beach with [Kulture Kiari]," tagging the toddler's Instagram page ran by Cardi. It seems like Offset and Cardi have found their way back to love after announcing and subsequently calling off their divorce last year. Happy Valentine's Day to the happy family! 15. Back in November, 16-year-old Claudia Conway shared on her Tik Tok account that she was auditioning for the upcoming 19th season of American Idol. She posted a short video of her in the confessional room, saying that she “met Ryan Seacrest today,” and telling fans to “stay tuned” for her audition. In a new teaser trailer for the upcoming premiere episode, Claudia introduces herself in front of returning judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan. She explains that her parents are “high profile political figures,” and tells the judges, "My mother is Kellyanne Conway. She worked for Donald Trump. And my dad is George Conway. He worked against Donald Trump. It's a lot, but I agree to disagree with my mom and my dad." Claudia also spoke on her internet fame and her social media presence, saying “Most of my life, my feelings had been suppressed so then I got social media and was like, 'Well, yeah. Now my voice is being heard.'” She also asserts that being a singer is her true passion and dream, saying, “But when life is all going downhill, I have my music. Now, I want to get out of the controversy, get out of the drama and let people know that I am a singer and this is what I want to do.” Tensions within the Conway family have only been heightening since November, especially since January’s brutal development where a nude photo of Claudia was leaked on Kellyanne’s Twitter account. Perhaps Claudia’s American Idol audition will be a new lease on life, and we’ll find out if she makes it to Hollywood during Sunday’s premiere episode on ABC. Watch the new teaser trailer here. 16. If you are a sneakerhead, then you are well-aware of just how evil the Nike SNKRS App is. This app has been Nike's preferred way for fans to cop new shoes, and more often than not, it leads to more frustration than actual jubilation. For many, the app is rigged and designed for you to never cop the shoes you actually want. Rare drops typically go over like a lead balloon, and sneakerheads have grown fed up. Despite this, they still continue to test their luck, and for the most part, it hasn't worked to their advantage. Today, the SNKRS App delivered even more Ls as the Air Jordan 6 "Carmine" was released to the masses. This retro was on a lot of people's wishlists, but in the end, a lot of people ended up missing out because, once again, the SNKRS App wasn't on their side. People immediately posted their Ls on Twitter, which made the app trend for a while. It's not the first time this happened, and it certainly won't be the last. You can check out what people had to say about the ordeal, below. Also, let us know if you were one of the lucky ones who copped a pair, or if the SNKRS App got you too. 17. There aren't many rappers who've seen as much success as Lil Durk and Lil Baby throughout the pandemic. 2020 was arguably the year of Lil Baby but Durk also had a triumphant run. The release of Just Cause Yall Waited 2 further established himself as a voice for the streets but it was the release of The Voice that set him up for the success he's seeing this year. Last week, the rapper finally slid through with the deluxe edition of the album after heavily teasing its release. Among the many highlights from the deluxe, he enlists Lil Baby for a stand-out on "Finesse Out The Gang Way." The two unleashed the visual for the single which offers more insight into their icy link up with Meek Mill and DaBaby at IceBox jewelers. The two rappers flex, showcasing their collection of jewelry while rapping their verses in front of many foreign vehicles. The music video also seemingly includes that clip of Durk that went viral last week. Even though Durk admitted he was nervous, that clearly didn't impact the final cut of the music video. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/jx4C9Agcfa0View the full article
  18. It looks like things are still a bit cryptic for Ralo. The Atlanta rapper released his tenth mixtape Conspiracy back in the latter half of 2018, then went on to release his next tape Free Ralo the following year. Two years after its initial release, the 1017 artist revisited his Conspiracy album with its long-overdue deluxe edition. Complimented with eight new songs, the reissue includes his previously released track "Fame" featuring Derez De'Shon, who also appears on four more of the new tunes. Other guests for the album's re-up include Lil Baby, Shy Glizzy, Birdman, and Kevin Gates, among others. On the original LP, Ralo boasted guest appearances from YFN Lucci, Shy Glizzy, and Becky Badass. Ralo has been behind bars since 2018, beginning his sentence shortly after releasing the standard edition of Conspiracy. He's accused of trafficking up to $2 million worth of marijuana by Atlanta PD. 19. Entrepreneur, record executive, and film producer Dame Dash is finally settling down with his longtime wifey Raquel Horn. The two made their engagement official on Wednesday when both posted photos of the casual but exciting proposal. It seems as though Dame Dash proposed to Raquel in their home with the mogul getting down on one knee while Raquel was standing at her desk. Both of them appear elated in the photo, and it makes sense why they would finally decide to tie the knot. Dame Dash presented Raquel with what many called a “unique” engagement ring, one with a thin, gold band and stunningly large square emerald stone. Raquel posted a picture of just the ring to her Instagram, where she captioned it, “It’s official @duskopoppington I love you forever.” Raquel and Dame have one child together already, a little boy born in November who they have sweetly dubbed “baby Dusko.” Dusko is Dame’s fifth child, with two being from former wife Rachel Roy, one with former girlfriend Linda Williams, and the fourth with former girlfriend Cindy Morales. Dame Dash called quarantine the “perfect time to have a baby,” and said he and Raquel were extremely loving and intimate throughout her pregnancy. When asked about Dusko, Dame jokingly admitted, “That’s the only other male that can get those breasts from me, so I’m good with it, and it’s for a good cause — he can have them.” We’re wishing a happy marriage for the couple, and we can’t wait to see the wedding photos! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/2SP9rQHeF9MView the full article
  20. Popeyes became an internet sensation after debuting their now-signature chicken sandwich that sent the world into a spiral, and they’re back in the fold, stepping up their game with a Cajun fish sandwich, in an effort to recreate that viral magic. The fish sandwich includes a crispy flounder cooked to perfection on a toasted brioche bun with crunchy pickles and will be available for purchase nationwide for a limited amount of time. The sandwich is priced at $4.99, a dollar more than their signature chicken sandwich. Popeyes has been extremely successful since the chicken sandwich’s release in the summer of 2019. The chicken sandwich sold out in two weeks and started the ultimate chicken sandwich war. Now, the world is questioning whether the Popeye’s Cajun fish sandwich is setting the tone for another soon-to-be sandwich war. Establishments including McDonald’s and Arby’s have fish sandwiches, but it’s too early to tell which one is the best. Popeyes' Twitter announcement regarding the Cajun fish sandwich has received a lot of feedback already. “Hmmm looks too delicious to be true. Will try it one day,” one user commented. However, some were confused about the sudden jump from a chicken sandwich to a fish sandwich. “You guys are floundering here... stick to chicken only,” another user commented. Popeyes claimed that they “aren’t too chicken to flounder.” Will you try their new Cajun fish sandwich? http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/4McbPeHLqs0View the full article
  21. Tom Brady is fresh off of his seventh Super Bowl title, and at this point, it's clear that he still isn't finished. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in a position to repeat next season, and Brady is determined to make that happen. Even though he will be turning 44 years old, Brady seemingly still has a lot left in the tank, and it is safe to assume that the Buccaneers will be back in the playoffs, looking to get that second-straight title. While Brady will have to undergo knee surgery soon, it would appear as though Brady is already back in the gym, hard at work. In a new post on the TB12sports Twitter account, Brady can be seen walking into one of his facilities, where he is ready to get back in shape for what should be a fun 2021 campaign. Brady has always been one of the hardest working people in football, and it's ultimately why he has become so successful over the years. The QB has definitely had his doubters but at this point, thinking Brady won't come out on top is a fool's errand. With next season about seven months away, Brady will certainly have plenty of time to recover and get back to his dominant ways. 22. Thankfully, Tessica Brown’s Gorilla Glue tragedy has finally come to a happy ending. Following a 4-hour pro-bono surgery from Dr. Michael Obeng, Tessica was finally able to run her fingers through her hair and relieve the tension from her scalp. Luckily for Tessica, her relief comes right before Valentine’s Day, so she was able to keep any big plans she might have had. In a clip from TMZ, Tessica discusses her plans to return to Louisiana to be with her sister. A reporter asks Tessica, “You got a Valentine’s Day date coming, what’s the actual plan? What’s the move?” She responds, saying that her sister had scheduled a sip and paint, which is a fun DIY activity where you follow a painting tutorial and drink wine while doing it. Tessica also says that she and her sister are going to do a big steak dinner, something that likely feels celebratory following the events of the past month. The reporter also asks Tessica whether or not Gorilla Glue actually reached out to her after her situation went viral. “Personally? No,” she admitted. “I thought they would’ve by now, but no.” According to Tessica, doctors told her to wait six weeks before she can do anything crazy with her hair, but she’s definitely going to do something special with her hair at the end of her recovery period. We can’t wait to see Tessica’s new ‘do, and hopefully, her scalp has a speedy recovery. [Via] http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/RsTZU65dn7kView the full article
  23. The Weeknd just can't seem to take an L. In the past two years, the "Blinding Lights" crooner has managed to cement himself into even more of a powerhouse than he already was. Besides completing his highly-anticipated Superbowl halftime performance last weekend, he's even been awarded his own day in his home city of Toronto for his stellar artistic achievements. Notching another major honor, Showtime is set to air a 90-minute special on the XO artist's 2021 Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show performance later this year. Patrick Smith/Getty Images Aptly titled The Show, it will be produced by Pepsi's in-house content studio and Boardwalk Pictures, while Nadia Hallgren will serve as the film's director. She previously directed Netflix's Michelle Obama documentary Becoming. Content-wise, the doc promises viewers a look into the months of work that went into producing the big-budget show, which saw the Toronto native perform songs all the way from the top of his career to After Hours' biggest hits. "This historic year with Jesse Collins as the first Black executive producer of the Halftime Show brought an opportunity to tell a new story," said director Nadia Hallgren. “We get a window into the process of a diverse team of executives and creatives working at the highest level, in front of and behind the camera. It’s fun to see these masters at work while they also uplift others. I hope this can inspire people to pursue big dreams.” As of right now, no release date has been set for the film. As for another W for the hitmaker, he's set to debut at number two with his recent compilation album The Highlights.
