  1. Valentine's Day is a time for many couples to unapologetically put their romance on display. With that being said, it's usually a day where many people finally choose to do boo-reveals and post their secret romances on social media for the world to see. Not quite by choice, Jaden Smith and Cara Delevingne seemed to have done just that when paparazzi captured the Life in a Year co-stars publically kissing in West Hollywood on Valentine's Day. The 28-year-old supermodel has been acquainted with the 22-year-old as far back as 2017. The son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith can be seen giving Cara a huge bouquet of more than a dozen red roses. She then locked lips with the rapper/actor after he handed her another gift of a giant bear on the street. The two co-starred together in the long-delayed film Life in a Year, filmed back in 2017. Delevingne shaved her head to play the role of a terminally-ill teen named Isabelle who falls for Daryn, played by Smith in the romantic drama. The film started streaming on November 27 on Amazon Prime Video. The London-born actress and model has previously been linked to Miley Cyrus, Jake Bugg, Michelle Rodriguez, St. Vincent, Paris Jackson, and, most recently, Ashley Benson. Smith has reportedly previously dated the likes of Madison Pettis, Stella Hudgens, Kylie Jenner, Amandla Stenberg, Sarah Snyder, and Odessa Adlon. At the time, there's currently no word on the nature of Smith and Delevingne. While the Valentine's Day gestures did seem pretty romantic, there's no telling if these two are actually an item. 2. Though Lupe Fiasco does occasionally cover disturbing and challenging subject matter, seldom does he dive with such commitment into darker sonic territory. Yet on his classic The Cool, one of the project's most engaging conceptual tracks also happened to be one of the most haunting in "Put You On Game." Off the bat, the vibe is completely different than what Lupe generally kicks up, this one fueled by a foreboding arrangement of orchestral strings; it's the soundscape of battlefield long after the massacre, where the survivors have no choice but the reflect on the carnage. Seeing as it's Lu's 39th birthday today, it feels appropriate to celebrate the ambitious lyricist by highlighting some of his most compelling work. As it happens, he dives headfirst into "Put You On Game," his narrative prowess in full effect as he embraces the evil within. What makes it so interesting is the cold detachment within his lyricism, almost as if he's surveying the world as an omniscient and omnipotent narrator. While it's seldom celebrated as one of his defining works, it's certainly one of the most immersive, likely to linger long after the fact like a particularly unsettling dream. Happy birthday Lupe Fiasco -- may there be plenty more conceptually-driven highlights still to come. QUOTABLE LYRICSI taught them better than that I taught them aim for the head and hope they never come back I'm glad your daddy's gone, baby, hope he never comes back I hope he's with your mother with my hustlers high in my traps I hope you die in his trash I can't help it, all I hear when you're crying is laughs I'm sure somebody find you tied up in this bag Behind the hospital, little baby crack addicts had http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/CVcxW50HrUUView the full article
  3. It's a pretty busy day for hip-hop birthdays. The Weeknd, Lupe Fiasco, Denzel Curry, and Conway The Machine are all celebrating birthdays today, and so is YFN Lucci. Just a few days ago, the Atlanta rapper remained locked up on murder charges so it's nice that he was freed in time to celebrate his big day with his loved ones. For Lucci, he's celebrating a big one, hitting a new milestone as his girlfriend, Reginae Carter, sang his praises on Instagram. "Happy birthday baby, I love you," wrote Reginae, sharing a trio of pictures of her with her boyfriend. "The big 30 (I mean 21) lol enjoy your Day." The two celebrities look loved up in all three of the photos. Their woes as a couple have been well documented over the years, especially following their split when Reginae caught Lucci at the infamous Cucumber Party. Throughout the rapper's recent legal drama, Reginae has held him down, continually showing support on social media. Paras Griffin/Getty ImagesToday, YFN Lucci turns 30. It's a big day for him and it's amazing that he's able to celebrate freely. Since his release from jail, the Atlanta native has been quiet on social media, likely staying clear of any added charges as the feds surely have a close eye on him. Happy birthday, Lucc! 4. 50 Cent's television empire continues to fire on all cylinders, with upcoming series like Power Book 3: Raising Kanan and the anticipated BMF currently in the works. Set to follow the life and rise of Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory and his notorious crime empire, Fif has previously described the ambitious series as "a movie" -- a hype-inducing claim that came with a budget-increase request to home network Starz. Frederick M. Brown/Getty ImagesNow, 50 Cent has confirmed that some progress has been made behind the camera, taking to Instagram to share a promising update on BMF. Director Tasha Smith has officially wrapped up the first two episodes, and 50 opted to celebrate the occasion while stoking further hype for the anticipated series. "@tasha4realsmith got the job done episode 1 and 2 in the can," captions Fif. "BOOM." At this point, it's certainly exciting to see the series beginning to take shape, and we can only hope that 50 continues to be forthcoming in his updates as production progresses. Though there has yet to be a proper release date for BMF, many details about what's to be expected have already been released. For one, the cast includes Russell Hornsby, Steve Harris, Kash Doll, and more. And while this one is a bit more general, 50 has teased that BMF would be "bigger than Power," though claims of such nature should always be taken with a grain of salt. Either way, with production moving along at a steady pace, don't be surprised to see the official first look sooner than later. 5. Russell Wilson and Ciara have not been shy about publicizing their love for each other. A quick look at Ciara's Instagram page confirms that fact, and their recent appearance in GQ Magazine's Modern Lovers March edition solidifies that fact even further. While also touching on Ciara's past relationship with Future and dealing with his "public toxicity," Russell also revealed that his biggest fear in life was losing the R&B songstress. With such a loving union, it's no surprise Ciara received queen treatment from her NFL beau during lover's day weekend. Sharing a behind-the-scenes video of their aforementioned GQ cover shoot, Ciara wished her hubby a happy Valentine's Day. She followed by uploading a shot of the happy couple on a private jet to somewhere beautiful, likely to continue celebrating the holiday somewhere together. She captioned the photo set, "Sweet Times With My Sweet Love." In her Instagram story, she gave a closer look at the red rose petal decorated private jet Russell had decked out for his boo, complete with chocolate-covered strawberries and wine. She went on to share five different gifts from the Seattle Seahawks, each with a different one of the five senses written on it, likely with a matching gift in each box. The couple wed back in 2016 and share two children together, although Russell also plays an active role in the life of Ciara's son with Future, Baby Future Zahir Wilburn. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/MBJKAan56DIView the full article
  6. Lil Durk is the voice of the streets, but he won't be showing out like that on social media. While he's well-respected wherever he moves, the Chicago rapper isn't planning on returning to jail so he's making steps to reduce his street activity... on social media, at least. Seeing a bunch of his peers get locked up for their moves, including Casanova, YNW Melly, Lil Loaded, and, most recently, Yella Beezy, Lil Durk doesn't want to be the next superstar rapper to get arrested so he's keeping his social activity to a minimum in an effort to not dry-snitch on himself or his OTF homies. He clarified why he's been more careful on Twitter. "The goal is not to go to jail so y’all will never see me do tuff shit on here to look street," said Smurk. "I am the streets." Lil Durk has proven to be one of the biggest rappers of the year so far, achieving sustained sales activity for his latest album The Voice and the accompanying deluxe edition. He's featured on one of the most buzzing songs in the country, "Back In Blood" with Pooh Shiesty, and he's in the midst of his greatest career surge. It would be a shame for him to get locked up right now, so he's smart in limiting what he posts. 7. Draymond Green is one of the most outspoken players in the league and he's speaking out with regards to Andre Drummond's current situation in Cleveland, chastising the NBA for double standards when it comes to players requesting trades and teams publicly shopping their players for deals. His three-minute post-game press interview is making headlines after the Warriors defeated the Cavaliers on Monday night. While the game was a blowout, it still managed to be filled with drama after the Cavs decided to sit Andre Drummond until they find a suitable trade for him, moving forward with Jarrett Allen as their center. "I would like to talk about something that's really bothering me," said Draymond Green to start his interview. "And it's the treatment of players in this league. To watch Andre Drummond, before the game, sit on the sidelines, then go to the back, and to come out in street clothes because a team is going to trade him, it's bullsh*t. Because when James Harden asked for a trade, and essentially dogged it, no one's going to fight back that James was dogging it his last days in Houston, but he was castrated for wanting to go to a different team. Everybody destroyed that man. And yet a team can come out and say, 'Oh, we want to trade a guy,' and then that guy has to go sit, and if he doesn't stay professional, then he's a cancer. And he's not good in someone's locker room, and he's the issue." Ezra Shaw/Getty ImagesThe forward went on to reference the situations surrounding Harrison Barnes and DeMarcus Cousins, saying: "And we're seeing situations of Harrison Barnes getting pulled off the bench. Or DeMarcus Cousins finding out he's traded in an interview after the All-Star Game, and we continue to let this happen. But I got fined for stating my opinion on what I thought should happen with another player, but teams can come out and continue to say, 'Oh, we're trading guys, we're not playing you.' And yet we're to stay professional. At some point, as players, we need to be treated with the same respect. And have the same rights that the team can have. Because as a player, you're the worst person in the world when you want a different situation. But a team can say they're trading you. And that man is to stay in shape, he is to stay professional. And if not, his career is on the line. At some point, this league has to protect the players from embarrassment like that." Bryan Steffy/Getty ImagesHe concluded his press conference by saying: "As players, we're told to, 'Ah, no, you can't say that, you can't say this.' But teams can? It goes along the same lines of when everyone wants to say, 'Ah, man, that young guy can't figure it out.' But no one wants to say the organization can't figure it out. At some point, the players must be respected in these situations, and it's ridiculous, and I'm sick of seeing it. Y'all have a great night." Green has a history of getting fined for his comments on the league's transparency and other players' situations. Do you agree with what he had to say? 8. EarthGang has earned a reputation as one of hip-hop's most dynamic groups, unafraid to push boundaries and capable of spitting bars when the occasion calls for it. And with their recent Dreamville debut Mirrorland and Spillage Village compilation project Spilligion in the books, many have been excited to see what Olu and Wowgr8, aka Doctur Dot, have been cooking up next. Today, the pair sat down for an in-person interview at The Breakfast Club, where they shared some key insight into their past, present, and future. Prince Williams / Contributor/Getty ImagesDot reveals that he and J.I.D were expelled from college for stealing, and while it was not ideal at the time, he argues that it helped forge the Spillage Village bond that sparked his musical journey. "After we got kicked out of Hampton, our parents put us out cause we was all disgraced and shit, and we ended up living together," he explains. "It was like, shit, I guess we gon' live together and start rappin'." The pair also reflect on their first meeting with J. Cole, who was impressed after seeing them persevere through technical difficulties during a concert. "He was like 'I got a crib in North Carolina, I have a studio in there,'" reflects Dot. "I don't know what ya'll situation is, but ya'll want somewhere to record at? We was like, yes." Olu explains that they pulled up with one goal -- to make a track. "Cole had just made a beat, and he was like 'ya'll can't stay here unless you rap on this," says Dot, as Olu reveals that the song in question was J.I.D's Never Story highlight "D/Vision." Tommaso Boddi/Getty ImagesAt one point, the OutKast comparison comes up, specifically the narrative that "EarthGang is like OutKast with two Andres." "It's a compliment cause being compared to OutKast is fire," says Dot. "It's an insult because, just like Andre matters, Big Boi matters. If you really know OutKast, and you didn't just hop on Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, you know the records." "You know how Big Boi would come in on 'Southernplayalistic' and 'ATLiens, adds Olu. "You felt that anchor there. In a lot of records he was that anchor for 3000 to spread his wings and do what he wanted to do. And vice versa! A lot of times, Big Boi would [experiment] with the production...It's just disrespectful to not pay respects to both people." As the interview winds down, Olu confirms that their upcoming album will be titled Ghetto Gods. "This whole conversation has been about respect for people coming out the hood," he explains, as Dot adds his two cents. "The balance of being a God and being ghetto, it's cool." When Charlamagne asks as to whether they'll be dropping on the same day as Cole, Dot admits that they originally announced that for hype. "We might be before Cole since we really don't know when that n***a dropping. When he do drop, we ready!" 9. Right on the heels of releasing the deluxe edition of his commercially successful latest album The Voice, Lil Durk has recently unleashed the music video for his collaboration with Lil Baby "Finesse Out The Gang Way." The Chicago-bred rapper and the "Woah" hitmaker have previously appeared together on numerous cuts like "How I Know" and "3 Headed Goat," and have clearly left fans wanting more from the fiery duo. Earlier in the month during a Q&A, Durk teased a potential collaborative effort with the Atlanta hitmaker. When asked if he would do a joint album with him, Durk responded, "I’m bout to FaceTime him and tell em what you said." While no plans were solidified and no set date for the upcoming project was given, shortly after that tweet the two linked up for the music video to the aforementioned "Finesse Out The Gang Way." Fueling the hype even further, Durk reshared a post in his Instagram story of someone suggesting he and Baby do a joint tape together. He added to the photo, "I ain't see this but thisss [insert flame emojis]." Reception from fans of the artists seemed split, with some commentators down for the collaborative effort while others were cool off it. What's your take? Would you listen to a Durk x Baby tape? 10. The most polarizing President in the history of the United States, Donald Trump is kicking his feet up in Florida after his departure from the White House and his impact remains to be a long-lasting one-- even in the hip-hop world. On his final day in office, Trump extended his Presidential pardon to a number of high-ranking hip-hop figures, including Lil Wayne and Kodak Black. Both rappers have shown to be extremely appreciative of the gesture. Kodak previously thanked Trump on social media, but he's taking his support to another level, cashing out on a new championship ring to show love to 45. During his latest interview with Fat Joe and his lawyer Bradford Cohen, Kodak was compelled to show off one of his latest pick-ups from the jewelry store, which was one of the first places he visited after getting out of prison. Being granted clemency by Trump, Kodak wanted to show his allegiance to the former President by getting his name on a ring, flexing his "Trump Ties" piece on camera. At the 19:30 mark in his new interview with Fat Joe, Kodak raised his ring to the camera, leaving time for the viewers and Joe to read what it says. "You see what it say?" proudly asks the rapper. "Trump Ties." Mike Coppola/Getty ImagesMuch of Kodak's fanbase appreciates Trump's pardon of the rapper but doesn't support the former President. However, it makes complete sense that Yak would want to show out, having years removed from his sentence. 11. Megan thee Stallion's career has ballooned to unprecedented heights in the past two years. In 2020 alone, Megan scored two billboard number-one hits with her viral hit "Savage," followed by a remix with Beyoncé, and the unforgettable "WAP" with Cardi B. She's managed to notch four Grammy nominations under her belt as well, and she's showing no signs of slowing her pace in the new year with her latest hit "Body." Kevin Winter/Getty Images for dcp With such a distinguished career in a short amount of time, it's easy to forget Megan was a college student before the fame, and its no surprise Megan has taken a bit longer to finish up with her degree than anticipated. Unfortunately for Meg, she's become the subject of some Twitter trolls mocking her for her extended time spent obtaining her degree. In the tweet posted on Monday (February 15), Meg clapped back at people mocking her college career, additionally revealing she's going to be graduating this fall. She wrote, "Mam Im abt to Graduate in the fall and still gone open my facility.. hope you get them retweets doe," in response to a now-deleted tweet from a troll. The "Body" hitmaker is currently studying Health Administration part-time--of course, online at Texas Southern University while pursuing her rap career. She revealed in an interview back in 2019 she was inspired to get the degree after watching her grandmother care for her freat-grandmother. She added she wants to, ""create a facility for people who are older to go and have somebody help them with their end-of-life care".
She continued in a second tweet, "They swore I wasn’t gone get that degree SIKE," completed with a stream of laughing emojis. Big ups to Meg on the major achievement! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/3vwA4zrRpaIView the full article
  12. Conway The Machine has become one of the rap game's elites in a relatively brief amount of time; that's not to say he hasn't been grinding for a minute now, but for some context, he only recently delivered his debut album in From King To A God last year. Yet upon a quick survey of the lyricist landscape at the moment, it's hard to position Conway anywhere other than Top 5. And with another prolific year ahead of him, with the release of his Shady Records debut God Don't Make Mistakes slated for release, the Machine's position is destined to solidify further. Johnny Nunez/WireImage/Getty ImagesToday marks the Buffalo rapper's 39th birthday, an occasion that found him receiving a heartfelt and celebratory message from his brother Westside Gunn. "HBD TO MY BROTHER @whoisconway may Allah bless u with 100 more minimum," he writes, alongside a picture of a seabound Machine flanked by a scantily-clad sailing crew. "How much this day cost ya?" Busta Rhymes also slid into the comments with a few crown emojis, leaving us hopeful that the pair will soon collaborate in the near future. On a seperate post, Benny The Butcher offered up some kind words of his own, sharing a nostalgic message for his cousin on Instagram. "Happy G day to @whoisconway the Machine you did it ni*ga and we still havin fun wit it like we back at Spoons crib," writes Benny, prompting some grateful appreciation from Conway -- "I love u fool!" We'd like to share some birthday wishes of our own to Conway The Machine, easily one of the sharpest lyricists spitting today -- and who knows, when all is said and done, perhaps we'll start to see the Griselda lyricist as a recurring name in many-a top ten conversation. 13. Several days ago, Moniece Slaughter appeared to confirm the dating rumors that Dr. Dre and Apryl Jones have been entrapped in, claiming that they've been together "for a while". Something may have happened though because, in her first update on the matter since then, Moniece has started sharing some very disturbing allegations about the famed mega-producer. In the last few years, several women have made allegations about Dr. Dre, claiming that he has been abusive to them. Moniece Slaughter says that she never wanted to believe the rumors but that, after having a few conversations over the weekend, she is certain that Dr. Dre is a "woman beater". "You know what, I did not want to believe that [Dr.] Dre was a woman beater but after the couple of phone calls that I literally just had, he's a woman beater," emphatically said Moniece on Instagram Live. "For sure." It's unclear who Moniece spoke to on the phone, or whether she's referring to his current alleged entanglement with Apryl Jones. She also did not present any details of the alleged abuse that she's accusing Dr. Dre of, but she may elaborate in the coming days. We'll keep you posted on this story as it develops. Mike Coppola/Getty ImagesDr. Dre has been mentioned in dating rumors with Apryl Jones after they were spotted catching dinner last week. This comes in the midst of Dre's heated divorce dispute with his estranged wife Nicole Young, and mere weeks following the producer's hospitalization after suffering a brain aneurysm. 14. The internet is all abuzz this evening (February 15) after a video has gone viral. A clip from an Instagram Live has been making the rounds over the past hour or so because people are claiming that it involves Megan Thee Stallion and Pardison Fontaine. There have been rumors that the rappers are dating and for weeks they've been leaving each other flirtatious messages on social media. Internet sleuths have been piecing together their Instagram Stories and updates, but after Megan confirmed that she has a "boo" on her birthday, her fans have concluded that Pardi is the person she's referring to. Jon Kopaloff / Stringer / Getty ImagesNot long ago, a screen-recorded video of an Instagram Live began to circulate, and while you can't see who is arguing in the clip, many have suggested that it is Fontaine and Megan. Off-camera, viewers can hear a man yelling for someone to come out of a room before he tells whoever is on the other side of the threshold to "tell Megan to come to the door." All viewers can see is the face of the person filming, and it's clearly Megan's friend who she posted on her Instagram Story along with a group of others who celebrated the rapper's birthday with her. The man off-camera is heard saying, "Y'all got five seconds before I come through this sh*t," and then a door opens. Several women are on the other side and one of them yells at the man, telling him that one of the ladies was using the restroom when he came in. The video abruptly ends and while no one's face is seen and no names other than "Megan" are heard, viewers are giving their opinions on who the man was. They've taken to social media to share their thoughts on how the Houston rapper moves with the company she keeps. Take a look at the clip below along with a few responses and theories from Megan's fans. At the time of this publication, neither Megan nor Pardison have addressed the rumors or the video, nor have they confirmed that they are dating. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/obBn_wwvqaEView the full article
  15. There was a time when the new romance on the block was rumored to involve Future and Larsa Pippen. The wife to basketball legend Scottie Pippen's alleged romance with the rapper was an unlikely match and it didn't take long for the internet to run wild with speculation about their relationship. It was a short-lived pairing that has caused a headache for Larsa because she's repeatedly cleared the air, or at least attempted to, about what really went on with Future. Jerritt Clark / Stringer / Getty Images"People made more of it than it was. It was never like..." Larsa told Jason Lee's Hollywood Unlocked, before she was reminded that Future mentioned her in one of his songs. "That was stupid of him 'cause it was not that. He was delusional. It was not that. It was never that. It was like, I was really sad, I was in a point in my life when I was really sad. I was dealing with do I move on, do I not, are my kids going to be okay? It was a lot of guilt that I felt and he was the guy that was there to see me go through it and he was the guy that I would talk to when I was kinda like, dealing with things. He gave me confidence when I was feeling in a dark place." "He served a purpose. Did I want to spend the rest of my life with him? I don't think so," she continued. "People serve a purpose in your life. It doesn't have to be your forever. Everyone has a time and a reason for being in your life... It was never that serious. It was not like people think it was." Larsa added that Future "wanted to ride the wave" at the time to "get some controversy." Lee told the basketball wife that she's truly looking for love while the men she links up with want to use her name for fame. "I will say I never realized there's a lot of guys that date you for clout until I moved to L.A.," she said. Larsa then took the time to answer questions about other men she's been rumored to be involved with, denying that she had romances with them. After the clip of her interview was posted to Hollywood Unlocked's Instagram page, Larsa hopped in the comments to clarify one of her statements. "I didn’t mean he was delusional, I meant that lyric was because it wasn’t like that. I’ve never said anything negative about him. I’m done talking about my past." 16. The romance is only heating up between Michael B. Jordan and Lori Harvey. The actor and his social media influencer girlfriend only recently came forward to reveal their relationship after being spotted traveling to Atlanta and Utah during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Individually, Michael and Lori are quite private about their personal lives, especially their relationships, but together, they're giving the world an inside look at their love. Lori and her "Nugget," her words, not ours, enjoyed Valentine's Day the way a young and rich couple should. According to Lori, Jordan rented out an area at an aquarium and had it decorated in flowers. It was all set up in a tunnel where they had a private, up-close-and-personal look at the turtles as they delighted in each other's company over a special meal. Later, Lori also shared that in addition to everything her man had already done for her on Valentine's Day, he gifted her with Hermès stocks, as well. While other men bought their significant others Birkins, Jordan took things to another level. Take a look at how these two celebrated their love lavishly by swiping below. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/3o2aSR9xEWMView the full article

We saw Offset and Cardi B steal away for a beachside vacation, Quavo and Saweetie enjoy some alone time in their rose-filled room, and Michael B. Jordan rent out a tunnel in an aquarium so that he and Lori Harvey could have some alone time. Famous couples were showing up and showing out all weekend, and earlier today (February 15), Lizzo and SZA revealed a sneak peek into their Galentine's Day celebration. The pair of singers popped up on Instagram together as Lizzo posted a few photos from her Valentine's Day party. She gave special shout outs to her friends who have been supporting and loving her through all the changes of her life. "God sent me some angels forreal," Lizzo wrote in a caption with red heart emojis. "Thank you for holding me down all quarantine we got more to go but thanks for keeping me healthy and sane." 18. We're saddened to report that Rap has lost another artist. It was first shared hours ago on Twitter that Ketchy The Great, an associate of Drakeo The Ruler, has passed away, and almost immediately condolences and tributes poured in. Ketchy was a member of the Stinc Team and made waves on his collaborations with Shoreline Mafia and 03 Greedo, and it was believed that he was on his way to climbing the mainstream Rap ranks. Drakeo confirmed the news of his friend's death while on Instagram Live and wanted to address the gossip surrounding his death before it got out of hand. Often, we read about rappers losing their lives to gun violence, but Drakeo wanted to clarify Ketchy's cause of death so people didn't misread his life, stating that the L.A. rapper died after being hit by a car. "Don't make it seem like...c'mon, bro. You know how these n*ggas gon' get," said Drakeo. "It's on the news. It's on the sh*t. N*gga got hit by a car... You know they finna start, though." Drakeo reposted Ketchy's last Instagram post and wrote in the caption, "LONG LIVE KETCHY THE GREAT IMA TURN UP FOR YOU FOR YOU ALL YEAR !!" Many others shared their disbelief in finding out Ketchy was gone, including Rap legend Biz Markie. Listen to Drakeo speak about Ketchy's death and read through a few tributes below. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/hdtQSefd_0oView the full article
  19. Their first episode of Respectfully Justin is underway and people are questioning the status of Chris Brown's romantic life. The singer has been tied to his fair share of celebrities, most notably Rihanna and Karrueche Tran, but lately, C. Breezy has been sharing sweet nothings on social media with Ammika Harris. The two dote on their son, one-year-old Aeko, but Brown's dedicated fans are often seen online attempting to decipher if the singer is, or isn't, in a relationship with Harris. Imeh Akpanudosen / Stringer / Getty ImagesDuring their premiere "Toxic Valentine's Day" episode on Sunday (February 14), co-hosts Justin Combs and Justin LaBoy posed a few questions to Brown about his personal life. At one point, Breezy was asked if he was single or taken, especially because he publicly flirts with Ammika online while rumors of romances with other women abound. The singer slyly smiled and answered, "I'm single with a girlfriend." He was pressed to explain what that entails and if he dates two or three other women, but instead of responding, Brown laughed it off and asked to take a shot of alcohol instead. Everyone joined in to laugh along but on social media, Brown's fans praised and ridiculed his response. 20. If there is anyone that knows the burden of unsubstantiated rumors going viral, it's Kandi Burruss. Back in 2017, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star faced rumors reportedly spread by Phaedra Parks that Kandi and her husband Todd Tucker planned on drugging castmate Porsha Williams. It was a devastating blow for the Xscape singer who finally was able to clear her name after others involved admitted to their part in the scandal. Paras Griffin / Stringer / Getty ImagesWe've previously reported on the accusations made against T.I. and Tiny, including at least two women who have reportedly sought legal counsel. The famous couple has denied the allegations against them, and now their good friend Kandi is comming forward to speak about her fellow Xscape singer's recent troubles. "Um, I don't really wanna speak on that situation," Kandi told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live. "What I want to say is people put out any rumor about somebody right now...this society has become a 'you're guilty until proven innocent' instead of 'you're innocent until proven guilty.' And I do not like that. I will say they're like family to me. Honestly, Tiny and I grew up together. Because of the things that were even said on our show, people always try to wrap me up into any rumor that happens right now, I wanna say, I don't like that." Robin L Marshall / Stringer / Getty Images"I don't like when people start rumors on folks and I would like for society to stop [being] so quick to try to make somebody guilty without taking the time to get [information] or anything," she continued. "So, I don't like what's happening right now and I'll just leave it at that. What I will say is Tiny is my sister and I have never personally seen her doing any of that." 21. He's earned his stripes as one of the most respected and celebrated Rap legends in the history of the genre, and while his accomplishments are coveted, there are a few regrets that Rakim has when he reflects upon his life. The New York rapper has remained successful in the music industry for decades, and while he is hailed as one of the best lyricists in the world, Rakim recently shared that he wishes he hadn't viewed his fellow rappers as enemies or opponents. Astrid Stawiarz / Stringer / Getty Images"For years, I used to beat myself up because I was that dude. I wouldn't conversate with too many other emcees. If I did, it was 'What up,' 'Peace,' 'Thank you,' [or] 'Later,' type of thing," said Rakim of the competitive energy during his era. He added that he had a street mentality and he used that way of thinking with other artists. Rakim admitted to keeping everyone at arm's length but it took maturation for him to reflect on that approach with a bit of remorse. There were plenty of rappers from his era that he respected, but he wasn't emotionally aware at that time to express his feelings. "I drew a line in the sand and dared somebody to step over it. That's all I knew. I beat myself up for years when I grew up and matured and realized that these brothas are not really my enemies and I treated them like that for years," he added before mentioning a few noteworthy names. "You know, [LL Cool J] is doing his thing. Big Daddy Kane, EPMD, Slick Rick. All these brothers that I came up with—it wasn't like they were against Ra." "I just realized, growing and maturing [that] I just wanted to make things right and let these brothas know, regardless, so you know what we've been through or what I might have said, or vice versa, I have a lot of love and respect for them. To this day, EPMD, Kane, and KRS-One, there is nothing but love." This video is lengthy, but you can jump to Rakim's addition around the 32-minute mark. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/B8Uxywbn1poView the full article

  23. She just wanted to "manifest love all 2021" but instead, B. Simone once again faced the wrath of the public. The social media mogul has often wanted to share advice about how she's been able to build her empire, and aside from the business posts, B. Simone regularly speaks about manifesting one's reality. Her manifesting journal became a hot button of conversations after she faced accusations of plagiarism, but that hasn't kept her from speaking out. For Valentine's Day, B. Simone returned with an impassioned video where she let women know why they aren't able to attract the man they desire. "We got all these things we want in a man," she begins. "He gotta be tall, he gotta be dark, he gotta be handsome, he gotta have pretty teeth, he gotta bee a family man, he gotta be financially stable, he gotta be rich, he gotta be successful. He gotta be all these things and we ain't even have the things on that list. He gotta be a family man. B*tch, you ain't talked to yo mama in six months but you want him to be a family man." She goes on to mention many of her points, noting that women who want a successful, rich man often can't match his bank account and women without employment want a man with a job. B. Simone also called out women's personal care, as well, claiming that some ladies want a man to look a certain way without taking care of themselves to the same standard. She encouraged viewers to become the things they desire in a partner. The video was met with mixed reactions as many co-signed her sentiments, however, some believe she's only speaking about this because she's rumored to have a new man: Los Angeles Raiders star Chris Smith. People also mentioned her publicly thirsting over DaBaby last year and co-signing his relationship with DaniLeigh. There were a select few who attacked the social media mogul over her clip, but we'll let you watch for yourself and let us know if you agree with B. Simone's take. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/X1p1tBtZN2wView the full article

  25. When Hip Hop and Rap beefs are executed on wax, fans receive hard bars on controversial tracks that go down in music history. However, some fanbases thrive on pitting artists against each other for amusement and often, we, unfortunately, see violence or even death as a result. It's unclear just how long there was rumored animosity between Baton Rouge rappers Fredo Bang and NBA YoungBoy, but we've watched it play out on social media. There have been insults thrown and allegations made, but Fredo insists that he doesn't have issues with the Top rapper. During his interview with Supa Cindy and Jill Strada for 99Jamz in Miami, Fredo Bang was asked if he and NBA YoungBoy were at odds. "I ain't got no beef with him," said the rapper. "It be social media—I feel like fans, they find it more entertaining for people to be into it than people to just be cool. I feel like a lot of that come from that." "I wish him the best," he continued. "Especially coming from where I come from, like, somebody else come from where I come from make it. All that [does] is give me hope like I can do it, too. So, I appreciate him for gettin' on and lettin' me know I can do it, too." Fredo isn't the only rapper to speak out against the power of social media and fans using it create tension between artists.
