#zeropaid chat looking for new home

Sounds cool--I think the music community here would gain by access to such an envirionment. We currently dont have a chat room for the membership and I think we need one. What requirements would have to be fulfilled. How can we help?

#Zeropaid would not be separate as much from the #zeropaid site in name as much as it would be a natural evolution. Jorge has not added #Zeropaid back to the site since his current revamp, and the chat has evolved, although the name has not. The members of the site are diverse and the name has held back discussion due to the name's limiting nature.

We want something that encourages dialogue, but does not cause members that enter to think that we are consorting with the few due to commercial issues.

We have therefore decided to change the name. We are not yet sure to what... the name #ZP has served us well and focused similarly minded individuals to the same place, yet the zeropaid name is no longer the same thing. We want to expand beyond these parameters and become a portal for the issues beyond p2p.

Help us discover these parameters. Join #zeropaid on the p2pchat.net in the next few days to discover where we are headed...

I think it's a great idea... BeatKing could benefit from a chat room, and to be offered association to an already established one is a big plus. :dancin:

Unlike the creation of #zeropaid (which was from the ground up), we bring you a self-sufficient channel full of seasoned IRCers that are there to help and have fun... many of whom you know here already, including (but not limited to) potato, me, wingnut2600, ken, and m77 .. as well as some other long time ZP members like cpugenius and grab_grab. Let's not forget all of the P2PChat users who come into the room as well.. they helped make it what it is.

Well first of all, yes Yoda you are appreciated too. You help make the room fun as well. I am still just a little bit angry at you for that link, but I am slowly getting over it.

Second, the java applet and any coding will be supplied by me. It won't be a complex thing, and will most likely be hosted at p2pchat.net unless someone disagrees with this.

Lastly, we have no problem with the name beatking.. but we want to make a name that has no association with any one site. We are a single entity, not the tail feathers of another. Get what I mean ? lol probably not. I haven't had much sleep!

P.S. - Thanks for all the warm responses. In all honesty, I was fearful of a bunch of negative replies... I even had a dream about this thread turning into an 18 pager with a flame war ensuing. Yeah it's sad that I DREAM about forums, but that is besides the point.
