Fucking sucks. I have watched him since I was a little kid. He has always been the voice that i could turn to in really mainstream news. He is an innovator and a name and voice you could really trust. I will miss the man and his kindly, yet confrontative manner. Rest in peace sir... you will be missed...

I am continuing to unpack and maybe a little exploration of my new environs. Maybe I will also buy new phones and cancel my old ones. Today I am going to look for an acceptable new comic shop. I went to one nearby, but it was an amalgam store that sold sports cards. If there is one thing i hate, it is a comic store that sells sports cards. They also told me they wouldn't give me a discount for subscribing through them... fucking idiots. I would go there and drop money on their comics... they would lose a bit, but I would buy toys and more fucking comics. Instead, they will not see me again.

I had a similar problem at one time... My problem was that I was using a codec pack (K-Lite, to be exact). I googled the problem and error code and tracked it to a part of a Matroska filter. I would suggest that you uninstall your codec pack (if you have one) and just dl what you need. I am now just using FFDShow and some basic Matroska filters and everything opens and works fine.

I am sure that you are much nicer looking than you believe spud (in real life). We all have a hard time looking over the little things to see the big picture (which, in your case, is your hotness). My avatar is a 2600... because that is my damned name. I would change it, but to what? Maybe I could make a new name...

You know... this article descibes almost exactly what I have always thought grab_grab to be like in the real world... Honestly, I am not against guns as much as I am sad that the world makes people desire them for their safety. I have shot semi-auto weapons, I have seen guns pulled on people a gun is just a focused explosion... safe as hell if noone is in the way. I think being rational is most important with guns. I realize that if I were to carry, i would think about it all the time... and it would eventually become a viable option... to kill instead of talk. I would rather get my ass beat down than see somebody die over something I was involved in... more than likely nobody will die. And, by the way, I will have better luck in the future, because i will not be stumbling, falling-down drunk in the worst area of town... If I were not drunk, i wouldn't have been attacked at all. A person put it this way... I was not mugged as much as I was a drunk that was rolled... and that was extra sad.

Yeah... the coward part was out of line... I was just in the mood to be extra snarky... but I would still hate to feel that sort of fear. I have been mugged before, but I was damned drunk (lets say about 5 doubles in an hour period... no shit) and walking home from a bar in the shadows near train tracks where the transients hung... so it was my fault. I was more depressed about other things than being mugged. That didn't really make me afraid... honestly, I am more the person that people have to worry about then the other way around. I knew somebody that packed concealed a nazi luger and was always talking about how when people walked towards him at night he would pull it on people. He was an intimidating guy too... A butcher with big knives. I think just being aware is a better strategy to keep from being rolled than to pack. Shit gets out of hand when you pull a gun. Man, do I have a related story to that...

My God, where do you live? The prison planet of biker rapists? Do gangs of mutated crack addicts adorned with rusty nails and carrying 2x4s with embedded saw blades walk the streets in broad daylight? I cannot imagine what sort of paranoid, fear-centered existence you must have on a day to day basis. Always looking over your shoulder; putting your hand on your gun to feel the reassuring cool metal of the revolver when you see a young man stroll past. I have a suggestion. Just stay in your home. That way you will not accidentally shoot some innocent person due to your being a coward.

I really liked ATD-I and thoroughly enjoyed the Mars Volta's first album, but the new one is not my bag... Too much prog sidetracks... I enjoyed their music a little more focused. I have seen them live, and they played a 35 minute version of a 10 minute song, which works live. I would like to see them make shorter songs, cutting out the filler.

I just read all five books last week... they were pretty good. I enjoyed the first three quite a bit. The fourth was good, but didn't really follow the third or lead into the fifth... it was kinda an island. The fifth was ehhh. Obviously, it was a very slow week at work. Two week before this I read "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe, and before this I read "To Have and Have Not" by Hemingway. "Apart" was superb, the Hemingway novel ended weakly. I am currently reading "into thin air" by John Krakauer, which is a novel about the tragic events that took place in 1996 on Mt Everest. I am going to read "Gravity's Rainbow" by Thomas Pynchon after finishing the previous novel.

I want your cam!! (but only when you are changing or showering... or it you were to invite a gentleman caller to your room). God, that makes me feel dirty... that might also be the reason I don't get a webcam and chat with you when yours is on... BTW... no webcam here (mostly for the potato reason). BTWAgain...
