  1. The profit margins are small, I agree, and ridiculously low. He makes his money from Ipods which now outsell imacs.
  2. Rolling Stones' arrests to become movie LONDON, -- U.S. cable network HBO has commissioned a movie about the 1960s drug arrests of Rolling Stones' Keith Richards and Mick Jagger. The Independent reported Sunday the movie, "A Butterfly on a Wheel," is to be filmed next year with actor Nigel Havers playing his father, Lord Havers, who was the defense attorney for Jagger and Richards, both of whom faced heavy fines and prison sentences. "It's a quirky bit of English history, but it has international appeal -- 1967 was just an incredible year and this incident was a very significant turning point in history and the way the media works," said screenwriter Nick Fisher. "It was perhaps the birth of a new kind of youth culture and a change in tabloid journalism -- it was the first big 'pop stars and drugs' story." In 1967, after a tip, police raided Richards' home, where traces of marijuana were found. In addition, amphetamine pills were discovered in Jagger's coat and heroin was found on a visitor. Both Richards and Jagger were con- victed and sentenced to prison, but there was a public outcry and the cases were appealed. Richards subsequently won his appeal and Jagger's prison sentence was reduced to probation. Via MSN 60s/70s Rock N Roll Club
  3. If people want to fight, they can do it by PM... If it gets out of hand, we maybe forced to bring in Jerry Springer, and nobody wants that
  4. Hey guys, we wanna respect all new members, and we want all new members to respect the other members. If everybody does that, then things will be cool. Nobody wants flaming on this site, or to have the other unmentionable site's problems here. We will make every effort to ensure there is no carry-over. Are you cool with that? If so, let's be noble here and give everyone a shot to fit in.
  5. Maybe not, but lets pretend this is Oz and the past doesnt exist.

  10. With all the corporate firing these days its a wonder any of these companies last. The bottom line today mentality makes no sense in the long run

  12. Im not surprised about the health ailments of aging rock stars. All those years of touring, drugs and alcahol and partying, must have taken their toll. I dont understand at all why Keith Richards is still living
  13. When I think of trippy albums, I think back to Hendrix's Electric Ladyland, Quicksilver Messenger Service, the first Jefferson Starship album, Funkadelic's Maggot Brain...stuff with alot of extended guitar instrumentals. Today, its the electronic bands who are trippiest...I still like early Tangerine Dream stuff (the electronica featured on the early Tom Cruise movie Risky Business)
  14. I think they all migrated eastwards...
  15. I guess we can have Jipper come up with a design for brown paper bags, too...
  16. that black and white scribbly suit is uber ugly and the cowboy hat doesnt go with it lol *** I guess this band has some fans, but when their first album came out in the 60s, I couldnt stand it. Give me the MC5, or give me Mitch Ryder's Detroit - now they could rock
  17. Actually, they have published data in the past that has not been to the RIAA's liking. I think the samplings simply vary from time to time I do think the RIAA is reactionary, and a horse and buggy operation out of place with today's technologies. But I dont think Steve Jobs is under their thumb--he marches to the beat of his own drum.
  18. This is a kinda interesting thing you would generally hear about on Art Bell. But I think its the residual effect of Jippers, Umma and MI partying down in some alternative universe on the other side of the pub with Method77 serving of course Now wouldnt that be a scary thought :read this: http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/enterta...-name_page.html
