  8. The man who broke into the home of XXXTentacion's mother, Cleopatra Bernard, and has allegedly been stalking her, has officially been charged. According to The Blast, the Florida Assistant State Attorney has filed 5 criminal charges against Donovan Marlon Banton. Court documents read that Banton has been charged with damage to structure/dwelling, burglary, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools, and stalking. This news comes after the court's recent order that Banton undergo a mental examination to determine whether he is competent to stand trial. David Livingston/Getty Images Banton has been accused of stalking the late rapper's mother over the course of several months. A police report reveals that Banton allegedly drove from New York to Florida on a few separate occasions in an attempt to make contact with Bernard. During his last attempted intrusion, he allegedly tried to get Bernard to open the door of her home and threw a brick through her back window, before retrieving the brick and smashing the window of her Range Rover. The police were called, and officers found Banton with a small ax, a pry bar, and two pairs of gloves. Bennett Raglin/Getty Images for BET During questioning, Banton admitted that the reason he has been trying to contact Bernard is because he has supposedly been receiving "sadistic messages" from X in his dreams. He believed that the only way to put an end to these "sadistic games" was to find X's mother. Bernard was granted a criminal protective order against Banton, who has entered a not guilty plea to all charges. This developing legal battle follows Bernard's separate custody dispute with X's baby mother, Jenesis Sanchez, which has officially reached settlement. View the full article
  9. Antonio Brown continues to be seen as one of the best wide receivers in the league although unfortunately for him and the fans, we haven't been able to see it. Brown's off-field issues have caught up to him and it's going to make it hard for him to ever get back into the league, even if he has a co-sign from none other than Tom Brady. Brady recently signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and reports were saying Brady wanted Brown to come with him. Yesterday, we reported that the Buccaneers were rumored to not be interested. This didn't stop Brown from reacting to the announcement of Brady's signing this morning. The receiver called into The Mike Calta Radio Show in Tampa Bay where he sounded off on the move. "He's one of those guys that have befriended me," Brown said. "One of my close friends around the NFL. I congratulated him, wished him well." Brown seemed hopeful that he would be back in the league soon although he realizes he will have to wait for the NFL's decision in regards to their investigation against him. As free agency goes on, perhaps we will see a team make a play for Brown. After all, he is one of the best receivers the game has ever seen. View the full article
  10. Dave East is one of the many rappers finding ways to pass the time amid the ongoing state of self-isolation. After all, East is a native New Yorker and what choice does he have but to stay put, and rightfully so. And while some of his hip-hop colleagues have taken to charging Jenga towers like a cabin-fever fueled rhino or picking up the guitar for an impromptu jam session, East has opted to spend some quality daddy-daughter time complete with matching designer masks. Noel Vasquez/Getty Images East took to Instagram to update fans on his well being, as well as that of his daughter Kairi Chanel Brewster. Posted up in the East Harlem home base, Dave stared coronavirus in the eye and didn't blink. "Corona who?" he captions, implying that family should never be placed second even in the direst of straits. Curiously, the picture arrives following another image of East out and about, boldly roaming the streets of Harlem with a cavalier tone. "Still In Harlem Fucc A Virus!!!!" he captioned, twenty-two hours removed from the lockdown picture. In any case, it would appear he had a change of heart and has since decided to buckle down and wait for the storm to pass. Whether this ultimately has an impact on his next album Karma 3, which is set to include a Jay-Z-flipping banger, has yet to be seen. View the full article
  11. Not only have citizens across the world been forced to live in fear for their physical health due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but the rampant layoffs and increasingly unstable financial circumstances have let to increased anxiety from a different angle altogether. And while many measures are being planned to lighten the load during this time of crisis, one immediate change has been confirmed by U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. "We are moving Tax Day from April 15 to July 15," announced Mnuchin, by way of a Tweet. Making it abundantly clear that the decision was made at President Donald Trump's discretion, Mnuchin explains that the three-month delay will benefit both taxpayers and businesses alike. It's no secret that Trump takes great pride in a thriving economy, and as such, the President has attempted to do his part in alleviating the burden. Unfortunately, the economic toll left in the wake of the coronavirus has already led to a massive spike in unemployment, the full impact of which has yet to be revealed. In truth, the fallout is difficult to predict, especially when it comes to more localized businesses-- expect more news to surface as the government seeks to implement new measures to combat an economic downturn. 12. Josh Hart has been the subject of a lot of memes over the last couple of years. Of course, he is known as the guy who constantly gets left hanging by all of his teammates. Whether he is on the Los Angeles Lakers or the New Orleans Pelicans, he is constantly being dissed up by his teammates, although at this point, it's become one huge inside joke. Recently, Hart was streaming video games on Twitch along with Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz and De'Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings. At one point, Hart noted that Fox is the only player keeping Kings fans engaged and that one day he will bring them back to the glory days. That's when Fox noted to Mitchell that Hart has never made the playoffs before which led to a hilarious exchange. Hart took it all in stride as he claimed the team would be able to get there, next season. With a healthy Zion Williamson, the Pelicans would certainly be a deadly team that could compete on a nightly basis with some of the league's powerhouses. For now, though, Hart will have to continue being subjected to the slander. In the meantime, you can expect more NBA players to keep streaming on Twitch as they wait for NBA basketball to start back up again. View the full article
  13. We've seen the establishment of emo-rap in recent years, bringing us artists like XXXTentacion, Juice WRLD, iann dior, and more. Several artists have taken a dive into screamo territory, like X, but it has proven to be a difficult task to perfect that lane. Could Dayton, Ohio native Jasiah be that guy? A classically-trained opera singer, Jasiah is one of the most versatile up-and-comers on the market. Knowing that he has a history as a choir boy, "Break Shit" will come as a major surprise to you. The rapper is fixing to turn the entire industry on its head and this is the perfect song to do so with. If you were a fan of 6ix9ine in his prime (without taking into account any of the snitching shit), you'll probably rock with this record. In the same vein, if you're a fan of XXXTentacion's heavier music, this one is sure to take you to a similar place. Discover this new artist through his new single "Break Shit" and let us know what you think! Quotable Lyrics: Cruising down the street with my n***as, we gorillas I don't give a fuck where I am, I'm fuckin' villain No, you can't hang, boy, you plain, you vanilla Fuck the one-percent of crackers, mad 'cause I'm a n***a View the full article

  15. Swae Lee will be performing a concert free of charge over Instagram live on Friday night, in order to keep his fans at home entertained while the world self-quarantines due to the spread of coronavirus. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced tons of people around the world to practice social distancing and avoid venturing out into the streets, which means music lovers can no longer go see their favourite artists perform live. Rick Kern/Getty Images for Live Nation As a result, many musicians like John Legend and Coldplay's Chris Martin have taken to performing at home over Instagram live to make up for all the cancelled concerts due to coronavirus . On Thursday, Swae Lee become the latest artist to join these ranks, as he announced that he'd be hitting the "stage" via Instagram live on Friday to perform for his fans. "Instagram live concert tomorrow @8:00," Swae wrote on IG, although he failed to specify whether he meant Pacific or Eastern time. "Free tickets see y'all then hitting the stage @ 8." On Friday, he clarified that the concert would be held at 8:00pm "western" time, likely meaning PST as Swae resides in California. Swae was on the road with Post Malone on their Runaway Tour when the pandemic reached new heights, forcing them to postpone the remaining dates and head home. However, going into isolation has been too difficult for Swae. "Social distancing is easy," he wrote on a photo of himself in a custom, bedazzled surgical mask earlier this week. "I was doing that anyway." Don't miss Swae's free concert tonight! View the full article
  16. Everywhere you turn, you cannot escape the impact of the Coronavirus. It's affecting our lives, your lives, and the lives of your favorite artists. People have plenty to say on the topic, and it's no wonder that Slim Thug has taken to the booth to address the ongoing state of affairs. With a new album set to arrive next Friday, March 27th, the rapper has set it off with a reflective new single called "This World," its message enhanced by some highly topical--and inevitably evocative--visuals. Taking to a soulful sample packed with Southern charm, Slim spits some honest bars about his own come-up story. "So many in the pen moving too fast," he spits. "Tried to tell them slow down but men make they own path / stay G, but please stay free, there's too many ladies with babies without their family." To drive home the significance of his message, Slim slides in a 2Pac interview sample, made all the more relevant through a reference to none other than Donald Trump. We could all use a little perspective in this unprecedented time. Take a listen to "This World" and sound off below -- will you be checking out Slim Thug's upcoming album Thug Life next Friday? QUOTABLE LYRICS So many in the pen moving too fast Tried to tell them slow down but men make they own path Stay G, but please stay free, there's too many ladies with babies without their family View the full article
  17. Rightfully so, everybody is freaking out right now. If there is one thing that most of us are afraid of, it's the unknown. Right now, everything is uncertain and it's pretty unsettling. It would be a safe bet to assume that the National Basketball Association will cancel the rest of the season after a number of players tested positive for the novel coronavirus. As of now, players from the Utah Jazz, Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, and Boston Celtics have confirmed multiple cases. Chicago rapper G Herbo is an avid basketball fan, and he's torn about the news. He reacted on social media. "WHEN I HEARD KD HAD CORONA VIRUS," wrote G Herbo on Instagram, sharing a video of himself hilariously belting out "no, no, no, no, no!" from a classic R&B record. " @nba YALL BETTER GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS SHIT ASAP" In a second post, the former Lil Herb asks why only NBA players are being infected with the virus. Of course, there have been thousands upon thousands of confirmed cases but the media -- and specifically the media that G Herbo has chosen to consume -- is focusing on athletes. Thankfully, in times like this, we have social media to keep us in semi-good spirits. G Herbo's response to Kevin Durant's positive test is pretty hilarious and will likely put a smile on your face. 18. Everything is shutting down because of Coronavirus. Tours are getting canceled, festivals are getting postponed, and the remainder of the NBA season has been suspended. That being said, Lebron James has a lot more free time on his hands these days, especially since he, like his buddy Drake, is in self-isolation after being exposed to Coronavirus. Earlier today, he hopped on Instagram Live where he entertained fans and dished out on the status of the forthcoming Drake project. Drake has revealed that he's hard at work on his new project and presumably, he's still cooking up even though he's quarantined at his luxurious Toronto mansion. We still have no idea when it's going to drop but given Lebron's relationship with Drake (and his access to unreleased music), many would presume that he would be able to get some details about when it's going to drop. He doesn't. "Can you tell Drake to drop his album already?" Lebron read from the comments on his IG Live. "Nah, not 'til it's done. Nothing it worth having unless you can wait on it, you know what I'm sayin'? But Drizzy album coming soon." Drake's been slowly rolling out new music over the past few months including the most recent drops, "Chicago Freestyle" and "When To Say When." In addition to December's "War," Drake definitely has some ish in the stash. Peep the clip below. View the full article
