Look miserable to help the war on terrorism

By Philip Johnston, Home Affairs Editor

Holidaymakers and other overseas travellers were ordered yesterday to play their part in the war on terrorism - by looking miserable on their passport photographs.

Under new security measures all mugshots must in future "show the full face, with a neutral expression and the mouth closed".

It did a facial recognition project for school and found that we could obtain pretty decent accuracy even if half the face was covered up. Image processing is pretty powerful, but they want their results as close to 100% as possible - hence this new rule.

They just want you to look how you look most of the time...

We're just a few years short of minority report in constant retinal scans...

lol - flip them off
