  2. Curren$y is an underground legend, for more than just his ability to out-smoke practically every rapper in the game. He has been releasing music steadily for almost 20 years now, proving he's far from a lazy stoner. After being associated with high-profile labels such as Master P's No Limit imprint, and Lil Wayne's Young Money, Curren$y decided to remain independent before finally launching his own imprint, Jet Life Records. Since starting his label, Curren$y remained active, releasing several charting-albums, as well as many mixtapes, and even more collaborative projects. Curren$y has become the face of collab projects, knowing when and whom to lock in with, in order to turn out a great project. For his latest endeavor, he is ready to introduce to the world to one of his Jet Life signee's Fendi P. Josh Brasted/Getty Images The two have teamed up for the Smokin Potnas album, which is set to release this Friday, March 13th. In anticipation of the project, the two released a music video to "Strategize", the intro track of the album. Curren$y comfortably spits on top of the running drum beat. He remains casual but has no problem getting braggadocious. Fendi P shines on the track, bringing up the energy and leaving us wanting more. 3. Rexx Life Raj might have the summer on smash this year. If you need any sort of indication of this, look no further than his latest two singles, "Dreamer" and "Rose Bowl." The latter is surely going to make its way on plenty of pool party playlist. "Rose Bowl" is an upbeat banger with tinges of afrobeats informing the rhythm while his R&B vocals deliver rap-like flexes. "Way back when they was ignoring us/ Now we pullin' up, big foreign truck," he sings on the verse. "Rose Bowl" was produced by Kyle Bettencourt and Reece Beats who's previously worked with Boosie, Kehlani, and more. Perhaps these two new singles from Rex is a promising sign of what he has in store in 2020. Check the new single below. 6. Every now and again a vacation can be very beneficial, and rapper The Game decided to make Dubai the destination for his latest journey across the globe. Photo by HNHH The Compton-bred rapper declared that he himself was "the vibe" based off the good time he's currently having in the Emirates. In one pic he's swimming in Cove Beach, the next he's riding around on ATVs through the desert with the homies. Of course, our favorite flick that he shared on Instagram shows him hanging out with an actual camel, to which The Game wrote as a pretty funny caption, "Closest I ever been to a camel toe without any women around." We definitely wish him all the beast and safe travels as he navigates out there with the Money Gang, and let's hope this trip inspired him to come out of retirement and give us a follow-up to his "final" album Born 2 Rap. Take a look at The Game coasting through Dubai below, from lip-singing Maxwell's 1996 single "Ascension (Don't Ever Wonder)" in the telly to rocking a pair of Jordans on the desert while doing his best impersonation of Dr. Doolittle: View the full article

  9. Lizzo has confessed that she can now see herself starting a family someday, despite feeling differently about the future before. The Grammy-winning artist spoke to The Sunday Times recently about her current feelings toward her relationships with others and the possibility of having children. "It's different now," she revealed. "Like my relationship with my family, I'm working on that. I open myself up to friendships. I open myself up to the idea of children, which is big for me, because my albums are my babies." Though she may feel this way today, she hasn't always. There was once a time where Lizzo truly believed she would have "no children" and "only two friends." Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images The singer has previously opened up about how crucial her painful experiences were in molding her into the person she is today. "As f*cked up as it sounds, I needed that heartbreak experience," she told Rolling Stone back in January. "I'm not sad, because I use the pain so constructively. The pain is human experience." While there are no promises to get started on building a family anytime soon, it looks like we may be seeing a baby Lizzo running around in the future. Hopefully her kids will inherit her musical abilities, because they've got some big career shoes to fill. View the full article
  10. Jason Statham decided to pull out of a Kevin Hart comedy-action film weeks before the cameras were set to begin rolling. According to Deadline, The 52-year-old English actor was set to star in a movie entitled The Man From Toronto but decided to decline on participating in the venture just four weeks prior to the start of production. Statham is coming off the box office blockbuster success of The Fast & The Furious Present: Hobbs & Shaw (2019) and was recently spotted alongside Post Malone shooting the upcoming film, Cash Truck. Now, the famed action film star has backed out of a commitment with Sony Pictures that could have been yet another box office smash. Cindy Ord/Getty Images Famed director, Patrick Hughes, who's responsible for movies like The Expendables 3 and The Hitman's Bodyguard now has to produce another notable action film star to replace Statham which will most likely result in the movie's production being pushed back and cost Sony Pictures millions of investment dollars. In The Man From Toronto, Statham was set to play the world's deadliest assassin who accidentally pursued Kevin Hart's character described as "New York's biggest screw up" after an AirBNB mixup. Evidently the odd couple would eventually end up pairing up in the flick as the film's duo of protagonists. Unfortunately, the Death Race actor had some creative differences with the studio, wanting the movie to be rated R while it was set for a more family-friendly rating at PG-13. With Kevin Hart coming off of the success of his Netflix docuseries, Don't F*ck This Up (2020), and remaining to be one of Hollywood's hardest working personalities, Sony Pictures is sure to find a willing replacement for Jason Statham to star alongside the Jumanji actor. Check out Jason Statham's legendary #BottleCapChallenge in the Instagram video provided below. View the full article

For nine tracks, Athe actor and rapper weaves a narrative as he essentially breaks up with the country. "The record is a breakup album -- but with your country," he says in a statement. "So many of us feel like we're being dumped by the place we call home, a home that we built. This album takes you on the journey of this breakup; through the stages of denial, anger, acceptance, and finally, self-love to counter the hate." The United Kingdom officially left the European Union on January 31, 2020, with the Brexit movement. 13. Jussie Smollett's most recent criminal charges will not be dropped after all. Smollet''s lawyers previously attempted to get the charges dropped, accusing a judge of violating his authority when he ordered that a new special prosecutor be assigned to the case. Friday, however, the Illinois Supreme Court opted to keep the charges intact as Smollett still stands against six counts of disorderly conduct stemming from Smollet's alleged staging of a racist and homophobic attack. Meanwhile, Chicago state's attorney Kim Foxx slammed the decision, reducing it to "bullshit" and casting Smollet't's case a mere "prank." Before being removed from the case, Foxx attempted to have the charges dropped. Scott Olson/Getty Images "We have an abysmal homicide clearance rate; we have horrible violence; and [the attention is on] this case about a low-level offense with an actor who pulled a prank,” said Foxx while speaking on the Ben Joravsky Show Thursday. She would double on her comments on the Frank Spielman Show on Friday, adding that her concerns echo what she's heard from members of the community. “I talk to too many family members of [victims of] violence who are frustrated that we spend more time talking about this case than the unsolved homicide rate. I talk to people who are worried about their young people who say, ‘Why do we keep talking about Jussie?' [...] It’s not me. It’s what I hear from the community:`We can’t believe we’re still talking about this'." View the full article
  14. A Texas man by the name of D’Adrien Anderson is going to jail for posting a video of himself licking a carton of ice cream in Wal-Mart and putting it back on the shelf. Anderson was supposedly influenced by a 17-year-old girl who committed the same revolting act in a video that went viral in July 2019. The young woman who was later identified by authorities inspired a string of social media videos of people contaminating grocery store products and putting them back on the shelves. While the trend has officially come to an end, it has led to multiple arrests across the country including Anderson's who be serving time in the clink for his attempt at social media fame. Jamie Squire/Getty Images In Aug. 2019, the 24-year-old posted a video of himself licking a carton of Blue Bell creamery ice cream and putting back on the shelf of Wal-Mart's refrigerated aisle. In court, Anderson revealed that he paid for the ice cream that he licked in the video and even provided a receipt for the container as concrete evidence. Unfortunately for him, he was still arrested and charged with criminal mischief due to Wal-Mart having to dispose of all the Blue Bell ice cream in their refrigeration system. According to NBC's WHTR, Anderson was sentenced to 30 days in jail with an additional 180 days probation over the next two years. D’Adrien Anderson is also obligated to finish a total of 100 hours of community service. Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office court documents state that Anderson is required to pay a fine of $1000 and compensation in the amount of $1,565 to Blue Bell Creameries. Check out the video of the class A misdemeanor charge that led to Anderson's jail sentence in the video provided below. View the full article

  16. An enjoyable fan moment happened this past week when Back to the Future stars were seen posing with each other at an annual Michael J. Fox Organization event. This year, Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd participated in a poker tournament to benefit Parkinson's research. Of course, the two have been close ever since they starred in the 1985 cult-classic, Back to the Future, however, it is always nice to see good friends together - especially for a cause as important as this. Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991, at the age of 26. In the year 2000, he founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Actor, Chris Lloyd, his Back to the Future co-star and good friend has stayed showing his support for his friend's organization over the decades, but I am not sure any of those events would have concluded with pictures as wholesome as these. Parkinson's is a tough disease for anyone to be diagnosed with, but thanks to people like Michael J. Fox and his supportive family and friends, the organization is thriving. Please visit their website to learn more about how you can help. Are you guys ready for a Back to the Future reboot? Who do you think should star? View the full article
  17. Remember when you were younger and your parents used to ask you, "If your friend jumped off a bridge, would you do it?" The question was meant to feel dumb about not properly exercising your free-will. Turns out, the youth is still in need of this valuable lesson, especially with the advent of TikTok. The video-sharing app largely thrives off short clips of people participating in viral trends, also known as challenges. While a TikTok challenge could be as simple as imitating some dance moves to a particular song, sometimes they challenge your physical capabilities to a greater extent. For example, can two people kick your legs from beneath you while you're mid-air without seriously injuring yourself? This brilliant idea is fittingly referred to as the #SkullBreakerChallenge. The person who has their legs kicked isn't actually supposed to know what's coming for them. The goal of the challenge is for two people to humiliate a third person by flipping them with this trick. It's done by the two people convincing the third that they will all jump at the same time for some irrelevant reason. Once the middle person is in the air, the two terrible friends on the edges kick the floating limbs to send the victim into a painful fall. As you could imagine, this trick could result in injuries so bad that it may not be worth however many views the TikTok manages to rack up. This possibility has already became a devastating reality. After two 13-year-olds in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, performed the #SkullBreakerChallenge on their unsuspecting classmate, the victim sustained a head injury and concussion that led to a seizure. The child’s parents, Marc and Stacy Shenker, told CBS News they received a call that their son had been injured and arrived at the school 20 minutes later to find him “laying down non-responsive.” The two seventh-grade culprits have been arrested and charged with third-degree aggravated assault and third-degree endangering an injured victim. Out of fear that these sorts of horrific outcomes will continue, TikTok has released a statement regarding this challenge and other similarly-dangerous ones: "We do not allow content that encourages or replicates dangerous challenges that might lead to injury. In fact, it's a violation of our community guidelines and we will continue to remove this type of content from our platform... Nobody wants their friends or family to get hurt filming a video or trying a stunt. It's not funny—and since we remove that sort of content, it certainly won't make you TikTok famous.” View the full article
  18. Day Sulan gets cocky on "Mascara," her debut single and first release under her partnership with YG's 4HUNNID and Epic Records, after recently signing to the joint venture. As YG's first signee to the recently launched collaboration between the labels, Day is breaking out in a big way. The former stripper-turned-rapper delivered the intimidating "Mascara," on Friday, complete with ferocious visuals to match. Speaking to Rap-Up about the message behind "Mascara," she noted the gap in certain types of anthems for the female population. “I feel like women needed that ‘Knuck If You Buck’ type song, ’cause we didn’t have one of those," she explained. "So I made that off of b*tches not liking us for no reason." She certainly delivers on this sentiment, spitting, "You don’t like me, b*tch, I don’t like you,” over and over with a tough-girl fervor. In the visuals for "Mascara," Day reps her hometown of Compton, tearing up the streets of the Westside on a four-wheeler and rocking a sweatshirt bearing the name of the city she calls home. 19. An outbreak of the novel coronavirus has forced Italy to quarantine approximately 16 million people. Last month, government officials of the highly-populated area of Italy's Lombardy region were forced to quarantine approximately 50,000 people after confirmed cases of the virus sky-rocketed from five to more than a hundred in less than three days. The Italian coronavirus outbreak allegedly began in the city of Codogno after a 38-year old man, known as 'patient zero' had been diagnosed with the disease. Now, Italy has become Europe's most contaminated country on the continent with government officials taking extraordinary precautions to stop the spread of the disease. Marco Di Lauro/Getty Images According to BBC, the coronavirus has struck the country's Northern and Central provinces resulting in stricter quarantine methods in the region. Under these temporary regulations, citizens in the Lombardy region and the 14 other Central and Northern provinces will need special authorization to travel throughout the country. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has taken command closing schools, gyms, museums, nightclubs, sporting events, and other establishments across the country. Highly-populated cities including Milan and Venice are currently under quarantine orders affecting approximately 16 million Italian citizens. Conte released an official statement to the Italian media advising people to stay indoors, stating: "There will be no movement in or out of these areas, or within them, unless for proven work-related reasons, emergencies or health reasons," Conte told the public. "We are facing an emergency, a national emergency. We have to limit the spread of the virus and prevent our hospitals from being overwhelmed." This past Saturday (March 7), a total of 5,833 confirmed cases flood the country with a total of 230 fatalities caused by the virus have been confirmed including a reported 36 deaths in 24 hours. Italy's Chief of Staff for the Italian Army, Salvatore Farina, is among those affected and is currently 'self-isolating.' The United States is currently taking extra precautions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in major metropolitan cities like New York and Los Angeles as well. Check out BBC's official report declaring a quarantine of 16 million people in the video provided below. View the full article
  20. Some things, you just can't make up. One angry mother, Stefanie Carpenter, took to social media to share her story after her son was charged with a felony for using a toy gun. Carpenter says that she waited 217 days to have the Class 5 felony charge of menacing expunged from Gavin's record before coming forward with her story. As reported by Fox News 21, On July 24, Gavin and his friend were playing outside his grandparent's house before a planned sleepover that night. The two kids began to play with orange-tipped nerf guns, aiming at cars and pretending to play Fortnite. One driver became so irate that he turned around and returned to scold the kids. The interaction was captured on the grandparent's Ring system. The enraged driver called the police on Gavin and his friend which led to Gavin being cuffed and placed into the back of a cop car before his parents arrived. “They came back over, told me my rights, and told me what was going to happen. They put handcuffs on me, and I got into the car,” 10-year-old Gavin Carpenter said. The El Paso County Sheriff refused to drop the felony menacing charge, “It was just a hard no, that the District Attorney wasn’t going to throw this out,” Gavin’s father Chris stated. “That is when we moved into the diversion program.” The diversion program is much like probation, which meant Gavin had to complete community service, write an essay, and complete various tasks before the expunge occurred. 21. News of this year's Record Store Day comes after we learned from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) that last year, vinyl record sales were set to top "traditional" CDs for the first time in 30 years. We have all watched vinyl records steadily grow in popularity over the past few years, so it's no surprise many of us are excited about the new and exclusive releases coming up. Our generation grew up on CDs, but have since chosen to embrace vinyl. I guess history does repeat itself, and old really does become new. Since 2007, Record Store Day has celebrated and promoted independent record stores across the United States. The initial reception was so good, that it has since become an internationally celebrated event. This year, on April 18, record stores across the world will have plenty of great music to share with their customers. Spencer Platt/Getty Images Artists such as Tyler, The Creator, Summer Walker, Billie Eilish, Chief Keef, and Freddie Gibbs & Madlib are just a few who will be commemorated this Record Store Day, however, there are hundreds more. You can check out the full list of classic and current releases that are coming to shelves on April 18 here. Let us know what release you're most excited for in the comments below! 22. Dolly Parton is itching to bust out the bunny ears and recreate her iconic 1978 Playboy cover in honour of her 75th birthday next year. The country music icon paid a visit to Australia's 60 Minutes this week, where she was asked what she'd like to do once she reaches that 3/4-century milestone. Her answer? “I plan to be on the cover of Playboy magazine again!” she exclaimed. “I thought it would be such a hoot. If they’ll go for it. I don’t know if they will.” Dolly became the first country singer to grace the cover of the legendary magazine 42 years ago, when she rocked some of the brand's signature bunny ears and a busty black corset on the October 1978 issue. She'd even like to wear that same outfit, if she can help it. “I could probably use it," she admits. "Maybe. Boobs are still the same! I have my own look. I’m kind of cartoonish and cartoons don’t really age that much. When I’m 90, I’ll probably look about the same way. Just thicker makeup, bigger hair!” If Playboy does grant Dolly's wish, it would make her the oldest woman to be featured on the cover of the print publication, beating Jane Seymour, who appeared on the cover in 2018 at age 67, by 8 years. 23. It has been almost two years since Cardi B shook the world with the release of her debut album, Invasion Of Privacy. The songs on there hold up to this day and the charts reflect that people are still feverishly bumping them. In January, IOP became tied with Lauryn Hill's classic, The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill, for the longest-charting debut by a female rapper. At that point, both albums had spent 91 weeks on the Billboard 200. The following week, Cardi became the sole holder of this prestigious title, as IOP clenched its 92nd week on the chart and officially surpassed TMOLH's record. Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images Cardi's run did not stop there. IOH has gotten comfortable hanging out on the Billboard 200 and, according to the Chart Data Twitter page, its stay has now extended to span a monumental 100 WEEKS. Hopefully by the time I put my second album out IOP still charting .It will be dope to have two albums charting at the same time ! Ugh THE PRESSURE ! Thank you for the love . BGBGBG!” It seems likely she will secure that impressive milestone too.
