  1. After over three months of speculation, TMZ reports that Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner are officially back together again. The signs that the couple was going to reconcile soon were in the air since Thanksgiving. Travis and Kylie spent Turkey Day together, and then a month later they were spotted celebrating Christmas together as well. The online rumors intensified even further after the couple went to Disney together and reunited for their child Stormi's second birthday. When Trav sent Kylie flowers on Valentine's Day, and the latter hopped on Instagram to share a "mood" post, fans knew the two would be back together in no time. Sources tell TMZ that Travis and Kylie have been back together for weeks, although they have not put an official title on things yet. Still, they are allegedly exclusive, sleep under the same roof, and raise their child together. The source told the media site that the breakup benefitted both partners since their relationship got very serious very fast. Kylie got pregnant with Stormi not long after she and Trav first started dating. They both needed some space, and the move appears to have brought the couple back together stronger than before. 2. Although coronavirus seems to be making people do strange things, like stock up on endless toilet paper, it doesn't appear to have hurt the box office. According to Variety, this weekend was an exceptionally slow one for ticket sales, but experts believe it was because of the movies themselves and not the coronavirus scare. Disney and Pixar's Onward, starring Avengers buddies Chris Pratt and Tom Holland, took first place at the box office with a $40 million haul. The opening is one of Pixar's worst, and with a nearly $200 million price tag before marketing it doesn't look good for Disney. Ben Affleck's "comeback" film The Way Back also hit theaters this weekend, earning $8.5 million on a $20 million budget. It took third place, and reaffirmed Affleck as a lead actor in contemporary adult dramas. The Invisible Man, which was released earlier this month, placed second with another $15.5 million for a total of $98.3 million worldwide. The film only cost $7 million to make, marking another big win for Blumhouse. Sonic the Hedgehog took fourth with $8 million for a total of $300 million worldwide. The family film was made on a budget of $85 million. Disney’s The Call of the Wild finished off the top five, earning $7 million for a worldwide total of $100 million. The adaptation of Jack London’s novel starring Harrison Ford cost $125 million to make. View the full article
  3. A woman in Texas was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to life in prison after being accused of stabbing and beheading her five-year-old daughter, back in 2017. 27-year-old, Krystle Villanueva, was officially sentenced by a Hays County judge and jury this past Thursday (March 5) in connection to the death of her daughter, Giovanna Hernandez. The adolescent girl was reportedly murdered by her mother at their home in Kyle, located approximately 20 miles southwest of Austin. Johannes Simon/Getty Images In 2017, Villanueva was arrested after police were called to the home she shared with her daughter Giovanna, Giovanna’s father, and his parents. The prosecutors claim that the young mother told 911 operators that she killed and mutilated her daughter's body after she "asked for cereal." According to AP News, Villanueva was also found guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the stabbing of the five-year-old's grandfather. Krystle Villanueva's defense attorney attempted to claim that she was clinically insane which should have garnered her a not guilty verdict. Her lawyer, Carlos Garcia, released a statement to The Associated Press on Friday (March 6) declaring his client suffered from psychosis for a multitude of years. In court, Garcia stated that on the day of the attack and beheading, Villanueva believed that her family had been taken over by clones. Prior to Villanueva's official verdict, the Austin American-Statesmen revealed that the authorities had previously only told the media and general public that the child’s body had been 'mutilated.' But now, with Villanueva officially locked up behind bars for life without parole, they revealed her horrendous crime to the masses as one of the most brutal and unnecessary murders of this current generation. 6. Saturday night, Israel Adesanya’s defended his title against Yoel Romero. The fight ultimately concluded with a fifth-round decision in favor of Adesanya and left many fans unsatisfied with the uneventful turnout. Notably, Dana White expressed his regret for setting the fight up, citing fighter Paulo Costa as a much more formidable opponent. “When I’m sitting here today talking about this, the matchmakers didn’t love that fight and didn’t want to make that fight,” White said post-fight. “They didn’t want to make Romero vs. Adesanya, but the goofy fan in me said, ‘Are you sh*tting me? Come on, this will be a fun fight to do. And the fact that (Adesanya) wants to fight a guy that nobody else wants to fight.’ Now hindsight is 20/20, probably shouldn’t have done that fight and should’ve waited for (Paulo) Costa, but oh well, we did it.” It was an injury that kept Costa, the rightful No. 1 contender, from taking on Adesanya. Per White, pitting the Brazilian against the Nigerian-born Adesanya will be his next move. He adds: “Costa vs. Adesanya will be a ridiculous fight. I guarantee it, I absolutely guarantee it. He got what he wanted, he got him (Romero) on his resume, he beat him, and onto Costa.” View the full article
  7. Bree Runway has all the makings of a pop star on the rise. The Brixton native's seamless advantage in vacillating between hard-hitting raps and angelic vocals all while packaging it in a catalog that chooses to ignore genre and lean into an impalpable quality that's made fans out of the likes of Rihanna, Missy Elliot, and Stormzy among others. Now, Bree touches down with her newest "Apeshit" track, an energetic delivery that evolves with each passing minute into a textured and impressive output with an equally energizing clip to match. “For black girls making music, we tend to only get reduced to soul or R&B, but I’m a pop girl, and there’s other black girls who may be rock girls, experimental girls, dance girls, or pop girls too," she tells i-D. "I just want my journey, this year and beyond, to be a testament to staying true to yourself and thriving; you don’t have to do what they expect of you. You can do you and still win.” View the full article
  8. After arriving with a D Smoke-assisted remix to her "Kinda Love" track, singer-songwriter TeaMarrr has doubled down with a James Bland-directed flick to match. This time around, the new video further extends on the premise set up by the original video as TeaMarrr test drives the perfect guy--fresh from the factory. "I'm really big on things coming from me and having them reflect my ideas, my soul," TeaMarr reflects on the clip. "My team doesn't rush me — they know things take time before coming to me. But I'd always had the idea of 'Kinda Love' having to do with a factory, and the label was down with it immediately. I'm so used to being low budget and indie, so I didn't know if it would happen, but the label made it happen [...] trust [director James Bland] with my vision, and he had the idea of continuing the workshop and seeing what it would be like to live with the man I made from scratch. That's where the video came from — being put under pressure and whipping out whatever came to mind. It sounded outrageous, but people were like, 'wait, this could work!'" Watch up top. 9. Weeks after dropping off her latest "Generous" track, songstress Amber Mark has returned to deliver on the track's music video. Capitalizing on the track's nostalgia, (courtesy of a 1961 Henry Mancini sample) the new clip turns Mark into a vintage Hollywood film star as she turns up the heat in her most sultry outing to date. “I’ve always been so in awe of the aesthetic of the late 50s – early 60s," Mark says of the clip. "I wanted to create a visual that was inspired by this era but also incorporated the contemporary style we have now. ‘Generous’ has such a beautiful balance between the classic Hollywood era as well as the hip-hop world we live in now. I felt it was key to express that visually”. View the full article
  10. While a typical contraction of the Influenza A virus is usually nothing to cause alarm, the Golden State Warriors have gotten over Steph Curry's recent diagnosis in light of the current coronavirus-fueled climate. Saturday, the organization issued a statement outlining Curry's condition and giving fans an update on his return--or lack thereof. "This morning Stephen Curry was diagnosed with influenza A by a positive viral testing," says the Warriors. "We have identified his probable source contact who is not part of basketball operations. He has no specific risk factors for COVID-19. He has the seasonal flu. We have begun treatment for Stephen and have instituted our team protocol for influenza exposure." The news comes just one game after returning from an injury that had him benched for months. Listen in the NBA Injury Report, Curry sat out the Warrior's match against the Philadelphia 76ers Saturday night. The need to quell the alarm seems standard considering the concerns surrounding undisclosed illnesses and the COVID-19 disease. In California's Bay Area alone, large mass gatherings have been canceled while they've been outright banned in city buildings in an effort to contain the coronavirus. Across the way, New York State issued an official state of emergency as cases for the illness spiked. View the full article

  12. Governor Andrew Cuomo has declared an official state of emergency in the state of New York after new cases of the COVD-19 diseases caused by the coronavirus spiked in number. The total number of new cases so far is 89 with 11 of the cases coming from New York City. The majority of cases, however, are in Westchester County and are linked to Midtown Manhattan lawyer. In Westchester, public school closings have been announced. However, such a decision has not been taken in NYC. “We are seeing more community transmission between people who have no direct connection to travel to one of the affected countries,” said New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio in a statement. “I urge New Yorkers to remain vigilant—not alarmed—and take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their loved ones. As we continue to see more cases of COVID-19, we will be providing as much guidance to New Yorkers as possible to keep our city safe.” The last time a state of emergency was declared in New York when in March 2017 for a blizzard. With the newly-issued status, $40 million will be allocated to local health departments to monitor thousands of potentially infected patients. Cuomo added: "People say, ‘Oh, no, more people have it.’ We say that’s good news, that we know who the people are so now we can put them in an isolated situation and they won’t contaminate more people." 13. As shared by the Hollywood Reporter, HBO is set to develop a show based on the Naughty Dog and Sony creation, TheLast of Us. The story arch will be inspired by the first game, as well as its sequel, set to release later this year. The Last of Us follows the story of Neil, a hardened survivor of a lethal fungal outbreak, and 14-year old Ellie, who may be the cure for the pandemic. HBO is working with the game's director, Neil Druckmann, and the creator of the digital-series Chernobyl, Craig Mazin, to adapt the game into a screenplay. The game's sequel is set to release May 29th and it does not look like the team will be taking any breaks. Adapting an on-going storyline into a television series can be a daunting task, as some of us may know, but Neil and Craig do not seem worried. Both Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin maintain high praise for each other, with the latter admitting that “Neil Druckmann is without question the finest storyteller working in the video game medium". Neil believes that "with Chernobyl, Craig and HBO created a tense, harrowing, emotional masterpiece". He also shared that he "couldn’t think of better partners to bring the story of The Last of Us to life as a television show.” Whenever a team is this excited to work together, it works out well. 17. Coronavirus continues to wreak havoc. After a week in which plenty of artists and live shows have downsized or canceled altogether following fears of the COVID-19 disease. Ciara now joins the list of those changing plans because of the novel outbreak. The singer was scheduled to perform in Fort Hood, Texas at the breaking of a new USO community center, however, following medical advice, she's opted to postpone the March 19th show. Frazer Harrison/Getty Images "With the continued spread of the coronavirus throughout the U.S., as a pregnant woman, my doctors have advised me to limit travel and large group gatherings," Ciara penned in a statement Saturday. "I am disappointed I won’t be able to return this month to the place where I was born, Ft. Hood Texas, and put on the amazing show we had planned however I look forward to being able to bring it to you at a later date in 2020." While heavily associated with Atlanta, Ciara knows her birthplace to be Austin, Texas, 60 miles out from Fort Hood. In addition, Ciara grew up in a military family, making this homecoming particularly special as the USO specializes in putting together concerts and other live entertainment engagements for members and families of the armed services. 18. If you look at the rap releases from the past few weeks, or 2020 so far, you'll see that it has essentially been a takeover by the youngins. Two weeks ago, YoungBoy Never BrokeAgain dropped Still Flexin Still Steppin, which debuted at No. 2 with 98,000 album-equivalent units moved. Last week welcomed new projects from G Herbo (PTSD) and Lil Baby (My Turn), which both landed within the Billboard 200's top ten. This #NewMusicFriday was marked by surprises from Lil Uzi Vert (Eternal Atake) and Megan Thee Stallion (Suga). With all this going on in such a short period, it's hard not to notice that the youngest tier of rappers has been stepping on the gas. Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images While the hip hop community has often been fraught by intergenerational debates, Meek Mill did not hesitate to commend his successors. I'll point out that Meek Mill, 32, is by no means "old". However, he seems to see himself as belonging to a different class than the artists listed above - perhaps drawing the line between artists in their twenties and those in their thirties. The Philly rapper took to Twitter to praise them for out-hustling his own generation and those that preceded him. "The young artist got the older artist shook after further review ima just be the first to say it [multiple crying emojis]", he wrote. He then warned that their reign may not continue for that much longer, since he plans on reclaiming power with his forthcoming release. "Ima light y’all lil asses up when it’s my turn tho .... keep snapping youngbulls!!!" The rappers that Meek thinks are "shaking shit right now" are Lil Baby, Lil Uzi Vert, NBA Youngboy, Roddy Ricch, DaBaby, G Herbo, Megan Thee Stallion. After followers suggested other young game-changers, Meek conceded that A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Moneybagg Yo and Money Man are all also deserving of praise. View the full article
  19. Imagine being this cool of a parent. Grand Theft Auto V has been entertaining kids and adults alike around the world for seven years now. Rockstar has created a game that has brought in millions for them for almost a decade, and it hasn't lost its value. Parents have been rallying against the game the entire time, wary of the sex and violence depicted in the game. The more people criticize the game though, the better it does. Some parents have tried to regulate their children's gaming, to no avail. Others have tried to ban the game, but that hasn't worked either. Now, one set of parents think they've found a solution. As reported by Complex, this weekend Lancashire Road Police in England pulled over an 11-year-old boy. The cops realized that he was too young to be behind the wheel but found the situation puzzling. The parents of the child told authorities that they were frustrated with him playing Grand Theft Auto V all day, so they "brought him out to practice driving on a car park." Lancashire Road Police used some GTA humor by posting the story with the caption "BUSTED" in the video game's font online. View the full article
  20. The charges against Nicki Minaj's husband Kenneth Petty for failing to register as a sex offender in California have been dropped by the Los Angeles District Attorney's office, but only because there is now a federal case against him for similar charges. According to The Blast, a hearing was held in L.A. court on Friday, where prosecutors told the judge that they were dropping the local charges against him. Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images for Marc Jacobs Kenneth was charged in Beverly Hills back in November after he was pulled over by police and they discovered that he had never registered as a sex offender upon moving to California. Since it is against the law to move states or change addresses without reporting the move to the sex offender registry within an allotted amount of time, he was arrested by the Los Angeles District Attorney and ultimately released on a $20,000 bond. Gotham/GC Images/Getty Images While these charges have now been dropped, it's only because there's a more pressing case against him. Kenneth was indicted by the Federal Government this week, after still failing to register in California. He turned himself in and was arrested on a $100,000 bond. Now that there's a federal case against Kenneth, the D.A.'s office decided to drop the charges against him. "The case was dismissed today because he is facing a similar charge in federal court," a rep for the D.A's office explained. Kenneth is facing up to 10 years behind bars if convicted on a federal level, but, according to The Blast, his lawyers may be under the belief that he could knock some time off if he manages to convince the judge in federal court that he didn't explicitly intend to avoid registering after moving to Los Angeles. Upon his recent arrest, he was forced to hand over his passport and will be required to wear an ankle monitor upon his release. Kenneth is required to register as a sex offender in the first place due to his conviction in 1995 for first-degree attempted rape. He served almost four years in New York federal prison for the crime. Nicki has been ridiculed for her association with him ever since she went public with their relationship, and she's been on the receiving end of even more criticism since the news broke of his indictment. 21. You'd be slightly forgiven for assuming OSBS is the latest rap duo to come out of Atlanta, but both emcees in the group are actually representing for South Central, Los Angeles. On their latest album Parental Advisory, SmokeOne and 5ivefrmdaSIX come together to prove that trap music has a solid place over on the West Coast. Jerritt Clark/Getty Images Their L.A. roots can be recognized straight from the jump on "Marathon Intro," a song in tribute to the late great Nipsey Hussle who both emcees associated with closely before his tragic murder last year. However, the album's sound itself is far from the usual G-Funk samples and cruise control bangers you'd normally expect from West Coast rappers. OSBS find more comfort in collaborating with Southern rap stars like Lil Baby and HoodRich Pablo Juan and adapting the trap production usually associated with those hailing from Atlanta. Overall though, the regional mashup is good for rap overall and could easily help usher in a new wave of trap stars out of California. Listen to Parental Advisory by OSBS below: Tracklist: 1. 22. The gaming wars have fans picking their favorite console. There are Xbox fans in one corner, Nintendo fans in another, and Playstation lovers in their own space. Computer gamers do their own thing, but the console wars carry on. Although many people do end up buying multiple systems, imagine having two in one? Once believed to be an urban myth, the super rare Nintendo NES Playstation prototype system exists and was placed on auction last month. The auctioneer website states that this model is "the last remaining prototype of the alleged 200 that were forged from the failed joint-venture between Sony and Nintendo." The mythical console was recently sold for $360,000 through Heritage Auctions. Vice reports that the Nintendo PlayStation has become the highest-priced video game console ever. Although the buyer has remained anonymous, the previous owner of the system told Engadget that it was purchased for $75 at an auction. It remained in the attic for years until the owner's son discovered it and thought it may be worth some cash. The console still works, but there are no commercialized games that were developed specifically for the system. Heritage Auction writes that the console can play "Super Famicom and Super Nintendo games" and also includes, " A CD-ROM drive that was meant to play disc-based media and presumably video games as well." 24. Kylie Jenner is considered a world-class beauty by millions around the globe. Her looks have helped launch her beauty line, which is very successful. So Jenner probably isn't used to people pointing out her flaws. When the gorgeous businesswoman posted beach photos of herself with her sister Kendall and Anastasia Karanikolaou, the last thing she expected was that people would start making fun of her toes. The internet takes no prisoners, and the ruthless trolling of her feet began. After seeing the jokes about her toes online, Kylie hopped on social media to clear the air. "OK, so everyone wants to come for my fucking toes," she states in a video that focuses on her feet. "By the way I have cute ass feet," she continues. "And I broke this middle toe in middle school. There's nothing you can do for a broken toe so I just had to let it heal how I wanted it to heal." Kylie then tries to flex her toes, showing off the inability of her once injured toe to follow along. Just as you're thinking about how strange this video is, Kylie chips in with, "This is a weird-ass video." Check out the clip below. View the full article
  25. Yung Mal knows that in the rap game you gotta flood the market to get your name out there. When you're first coming up, you need to prove your hunger. This is especially the case when you hail from Atlanta, a region with no shortage of competition in this field. After amicably splitting from his former rap partner Lil Quill, Yung Mal dropped his debut project, Iceburg, back in August via Gucci Mane's Alamo Records. He followed this ferocious entrance with a tireless procession of loosies, which included "Juggernaut" and "Started Actin Funny" among several others. It was only a matter of time until he concentrated his work ethic into a full-length effort again. It arrived on Friday in the form of a collaborative tape with Baltimore producer Pyrex Whippa, entitled 6 Rings. It's a challenge to make yourself stand out from among the bustling crop of Atlanta up-and-comers. However, a promising strategy is to just join forces with fellow members of your freshman class to prove they're not threats to your own success. Yung Mal made use of this tactic when recruiting brothers Lil Keed and Lil Gotit to hop on his track, "Shut Up". It's a highlight on 6 Rings which shows that, while the three rappers can mesh well together, they still possess distinct styles.
