  1. Tupac Shakur's untimely death in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas back in 1996 has been an unforgettable moment in the hip hop world and pop culture alike. Since then, his name and legacy have been kept alive by fans and friends of the late rapper, constantly being referenced by them for his admirable character. In addition to being kept alive through cultural references, the "Changes" artist's camp also released a posthumous greatest hits collection nearly a decade ago back in 2007. Now, for the first time ever, Best of 2Pac is going to be available on vinyl. The well-received effort from the iconic rapper is now available to purchase on vinyl via his official site. Announced by the Shakur estate via his Instagram account, his camp shared a photo of the vinyl A and B side, representing the first and second parts of the compilation collection, Thug and Life, respectively. Thug consisted of songs mostly released before his death, while Life featured songs released after his death. “The Best Of 2Pac”, On vinyl for the first time. Link in bio to purchase," wrote his estate. Wildly considered to be one of the most influential hip hop artists of all time, Tupac's impact on the rap landscape is undeniable. Becoming a central figure in West Coast hip hop, his legacy lives on because of his unparalleled impact. Rachel Murray/Getty Images for Madame Tussauds Hollywood Will you be copping the new vinyl? 2. Does anybody have more energy than Sauce Walka? The Houston rapper bought a new chain this week and showed it off for the world to see on Instagram, bouncing off the walls and going absolutely nuts at his jeweler's office. The 30-year-old Sauce Father is one of the most well-known rap figures from Houston, and he's seemingly got a lot of money to spend because his new pick-up apparently ran him around $600,000. "I WON!! 600k. NEW CHAIN ALERT," wrote Sauce Walka on Instagram, uploading a 9-minute video where he runs around, periodically shows off the chain, and goes insane. "I GOT ALL 7 #DragonBalls n***a I WISHED TO BE 'UNFUCKWITABLE' My n***a #Shenron granted my wish." The new piece is incredibly hard and any fan of Dragon Ball Z will appreciate the inspiration. However, $600,000 is an awful lot of money. If Sauce Walka has it and can make it back, he's cool, but many are wondering how he can explain this large of a purchase when there are arguably smarter investments that could have been made with that money. Just the other month, the rapper also had a $250,000 diamond teardrop implanted on his face. On Thursday morning, Asian Doll showed off her new chain, dropping $85,000 on an ultra-realistic pendant with King Von's face on it. Are you a fan of Sauce Walka's new chain? View the full article
  3. If Eminem's recent Music To Be Murdered By projects are any indication, White Gold may very well be one of Slim Shady's go-to hook singers. And given their track record of "You Gon Learn" and "Zeus" so far, it's certainly a welcome partnership -- salute to Royce Da 5'9" for making the introduction. Now, with a new solo record under his belt and more on the way, White Gold recently chopped it up with Shady Records fan site Southpawer for a quick conversation, during which he dropped a few interesting gems. For one, he revealed that he was attempting to get both Eminem and Post Malone on one of his tracks. "I sent [Em] ideas the week the project was coming out, so he didn't get to that yet," explains Gold. "I got some shit man. There's one I really want him and Post Malone to do. I have the perfect song for them to be on. That'd be dope. Other than that, it's always ideas. Whenever he's ready to start recording, I'll hear from him if there's stuff he wants me to jump on." When the interviewers ask White Gold's thoughts on Royce Da 5'9's absence on Side B, he claims that the Grammy-nominated Allegory emcee simply wasn't recording much at the time. "He hasn't been recording that much," says Gold. "He's been on Instagram Live and Zoom talking about everything going on. He's not focused on rapping right now. He does little shit, but not in album mode or anything like that. There was one song we were going to do, I think it was called "Cemetary" or some shit. That shit was fire." Unfortunately, White Gold admits he doesn't think we'll be hearing "Cemetary" anytime soon, but it's certainly exciting to know that there's another Bad Meets Evil cut sitting in the vault somewhere. Check out the interview below, and look for big things to come from White Gold as he continues to deliver new solo music. View the full article

  10. This Friday (January 15) is poised to be a big release night as artists are looking to push out new music at the top of the year. We're expected to receive tunes from Young Thug and Juice WRLD, Nyck Caution, possibly Lil Durk's The Voice deluxe, and Ariana Grande has a remix that her fans can't stop talking about. The singer dropped her chart-topping Positions project at the end of October 2020, and a fan favorite single from the album is "34+35." Grande teased her forthcoming remix by hinting that two other artists would share her spotlight, and after Megan Thee Stallion dropped off a series of eyeball emojis on her post, people are convinced the H-Town Hottie will be making an appearance. Megan is no stranger to sharing the stage with her fellow performers as her collaborations with other women in the industry haven't gone unnoticed. Meg's pairings with Beyoncé and Cardi B have proven to be lucrative—No. 1 on the charts kind of lucrative—so hopping on a pop single with Ariana Grande wouldn't be a bad move. As for the second person who may be showing face on Grande's remix, fans believe that person will be Doja Cat or Nicki Minaj. When fans were speculating that Doja collaborated with Ariana back in September, she shut that down while referring to it as a "great idea." Check out Ariana's "34+35" below along with her enigmatic tease about the song's remix. View the full article
  11. He's been laying low for the last months after there were reports that a shooting occurred at his birthday brawl, but according to a report, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie has been hit with a lawsuit. Weeks ago, the rapper was reportedly arrested on drugs and weapons charges, and now it's said that Boogie stands accused of destroying a rental property in Mahwah, New Jersey. Cindy Ord / Staff / Getty Images According to AllHipHop, A Boogie rented the luxury home from a doctor back in September 2017. The lease stated that they had a 12-month agreement with a $15K security deposit and $10K per month in rent. The following year, the owner accused the rapper of "allegedly [abandoning] the leased property without proper notice," but it was the reported damage to the home that caused the doctor to file a lawsuit. Boogie is accused of marring the landscape, clogging the toilets, cutting up the carpet and putting in replacement pieces that didn't match, letting water "infiltrate" the property, and abandoning two vehicles at the home. When the owners went back to inspect the property, they reportedly found the doors to their house not only unlocked but open. After taking it all in, the owners contacted the authorities and filed a lawsuit against A Boogie and his company, High Bridge The Label. This isn't something that will be swept under the rug as the owners have reportedly claimed that the rapper vandalized their property and they are requesting a trial in front of a jury of their peers. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie has yet to publicly respond to the accusations. [via] View the full article
  12. Days ago, Twitter became the catalyst that launched the domino effect of suspensions and bans of Donald Trump across several social media platforms. The most recent was Snapchat as the popular filter platform shared that they'd planned on permanently banning the President of the United States—a move that came on the heels of YouTube announcing their seven-day suspension of Trump's channel. These unprecedented actions have caused conversations about censorship, and while pro-Tump supporters are angered by the president being shut down, his detractors believe it is a necessary step following last week's shocking insurrection on the Capitol. Justin Sullivan / Staff / Getty Images As many Twitter users celebrate the absence of Trump on the app, Twitter CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey expressed that he didn't find pleasure in removing the president's account. In a lengthy message shared on Twitter, Dorsey revealed why the company had to act to that extent. "I do not celebrate or feel pride in our having to ban @realDonaldTrump from Twitter, or how we got here," wrote Dorsey. "After a clear warning we’d take this action, we made a decision with the best information we had based on threats to physical safety both on and off Twitter. Was this correct?" "I believe this was the right decision for Twitter," he continued. "We faced an extraordinary and untenable circumstance, forcing us to focus all of our actions on public safety. Offline harm as a result of online speech is demonstrably real, and what drives our policy and enforcement above all." He also made it clear that if people are unhappy with the regulations set in place, there are other options. "If folks do not agree with our rules and enforcement, they can simply go to another internet service." Read through his explanation below. Twitter Twitter View the full article
  13. Once internet sleuths saw that Future and Dess Dior weren't following each other on Instagram, that was all that they needed to spark rumors that their developing romance was over. The pair of rappers have been slowly unveiling their relationship to the world and have been under heavy scrutiny from prying eyes. That hasn't stopped either of them from living the good life arm-in-arm, and on Wednesday (January 13), Future shut down those breakup rumors by supporting his leading lady on his Instagram Story. Prince Williams / Contributor / Getty Images Dess Dior, 22, has been focused more heavily on her rap career in recent months, even dropping her latest single "Rich B*tch" and its accompanying music video back in December, and it looks as if there's more to come. On Future's Instagram Story, the 37-year-old "Life is Good" rapper helped promote Dess's next single. "Big DESS dnt play that sh*t #SOON," he wrote over a video of what looks to be Dess's next music video. There's no word on whether or not the pair of loved-up artists will ever collaborate in the future, but only time will tell. Check out a clip of Dess Dior spitting a few bars in Future's IG post below. View the full article
  14. Twenty-four hours after it was reported that YFN Lucci was wanted by the authorities, the rapper has turned himself in. We previously reported on the shocking news that the Georgia rapper, real name Rayshawn Bennett, was wanted by police on murder, gang, and weapons charges. It all stemmed from an incident that took place in southwest Atlanta on December 10 that resulted in the shooting death of 28-year-old James Adams. Cassidy Sparrow / Stringer / Getty Images Earlier today (January 13), Lucci shared the music video for his Mozzy-assisted single "Rolled On." Hours later, it's reported that he turned himself in to police and was booked into the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta. The rapper's attorney, Thomas Reynolds, reportedly refused to comment on Lucci's charges but did say, “Every person has a presumption of innocence.” News outlet 11 Alive detailed the Dec. 10 incident and stated that it was approximately 5:20 p.m. when police were dispatched to a location where they found Adams laying in the street. He'd been shot in the head and was rushed to a local hospital before succumbing to his injuries. Not long after, a second shooting victim made their way to a fire station and was treated. That person survived their injuries. An investigation led police to three people they claim were involved in the incident, including 17-year-old Leroy Pitts who was charged with "felony murder, aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony." A man named Ra'von Boyd, 23, was also arrested and charged with "felony murder, aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon." 16. Yesterday (January 12), viewers sat wide-eyed as Azealia Banks shared a video that showed her digging up her beloved deceased pet, a cat named reportedly named Lucifer, before setting him to boil. Soon, headlines ran rampant with claims that the rapper was planning on consuming the dead animal, but Banks has come forward to not only deny those reports but to question other religions and their associations with cannibalism and bloodshed. Tim P. Whitby / Stringer / Getty Images "Why do you think i would eat a dead cat," she said on her Story. "When I can barely eat a dead cow. It's called taxidermy.... Plenty of hunters with preserved deer heads hanging off their wall. Darlings..... You guys are being racist and this is very un-black lives matter of you all. The cat's head is soaking in peroxide to fully clean him, then I'm taking him to a jewelry shop to have it gilded." "Lucifer was an icon," she said of her late pet. "He deserves to be preserved. You girls are not tough like me." Banks went on to mention that "Catholics ritualistically consume the body and blood of Christ at mass," suggesting that they are "essentially vampires and cannibals." In another Story slide, Banks wrote, "Rabbi's suck the blood off of a newborns circumcised penis. I really don't want to hear sh*t about preserving a cat skull." Check out Banks's posts below. 18. Vacations are times when people unwind and remove themselves from the stressors of their everyday lives, but Rebel Wilson and her friends found themselves in a panic when they were allegedly kidnapped. During an interview with Ant Middleton on Straight Talking, the Brides Maids actress recalled a time when she was vacationing in Africa and was suddenly met with a band of alleged smugglers who ordered her group out of their vehicle while they were in rural Mozambique. "These men come on another truck with a lot of guns," said Wilson, who also mentioned that the truck pulled alongside their vehicle. "Yeah, with the big guns, and were like, 'You've got to get off your truck.' They took us to this house in the middle of nowhere... I feel like I was very good in the crisis. I was like a team leader." "They sat us down. I said, 'Everybody link arms.' I'm petrified in the night they might want to take one of the girls or something. Luckily, we weren't harmed," said Rebel. The following day, without explanation, the group of women was freed. "They came and said, 'Oh, your truck is ready now you can go,' you know," she said. "So we just didn't ask any questions, we got back on that truck and just got back out of there and then crossed the South African border a few hours later." A fortunate ending to a frightening situation. In other news, Wilson will soon be featured on her forthcoming dog-grooming ABC series, Pooch Perfect. [via] View the full article
  19. We're only 13 days into 2021 and things have been wild. The political arena in the United States is a beast all its own, but pop culture is following close behind. Earlier today, rapper Cuban Doll and King Von's sister Kayla were involved in a heated Twitter Fingers fight as they slang insults at each other. The ladies had been going at it for hours and then, Kayla asked Cuban Doll if she wanted to meet up so they could settle their verbal spat. A location was set and the women let their fists fly. Twitter The reasoning behind their beef is unclear but it looks as if this has been brewing for a while and Kayla claimed that King Von told her Cuban Doll tried to sleep with him. Soon, videos of the fight began to circulate showing hair-grabbing, fists flying, and minor bloodshed. Following the brawl, Cuban Doll hopped on Instagram Live to deny that she'd lost the fight while Kayla was back on Twitter retweeting followers who praised her for taking on the rapper. It seems that the public played a part in this one by egging on the animosity, and while we can't post the fight here, it's an easy find if you're really interested. 20. The YSL camp grows every day. It feels like Young Thug has damn-near started his own musical cult of sorts with likeminded artists from Atlanta. 22. Brooklyn set the tone in 2020. The rise of Brooklyn drill officially proliferated into the sound of hip-hop at large but even pop music was adapting to it as well. Of course, Pop Smoke's a definitive artist to the genre but Sheff G is a founding father of sorts. 2020 was an incredible year for him that saw the release of two new project, One And Only and Proud Of Me Now. Young AP is an artist that appeared on the tracklist for Proud Of Me Now and it appears that Sheff G is now returning the favor. The two rappers connect for their new collaboration, "Drill Tonight." He's hosted the likes of Pressa, Chromazz, and even Chair Girl but somehow, Top5 is easily becoming the biggest star out of these Twitch streams. He's using the recent social media infamy to his benefit, as well, with the release of his latest single, "2 Cases." The song emphasizes his disrespectful nature with a bar that seems to pay homage to Gucci Mane's infamous "dig your patna up" bar. Top5 has been a growing name out of the 6ix over the past few years, largely due to a co-sign from Drake. In recent times, he's released several big hits such as "Steppaz" and "Head Of Me" alongside WhyG. Check out Top5's new single below. 24. On August 23, 2020, police officers responding to a call about a "domestic incident" arrived at a Kenosha, Wisconsin home. Witnesses reported that several women were engaged in an altercation while police claimed a woman called complaining that her boyfriend had taken her keys. When officers arrived, Jacob Blake was at the scene with his children in the car. The incident reportedly escalated—and depending on who you ask, the story changes regarding how that occurred—and after Blake was hit with a taser by cops, police claim he had a knife and was moving in a threatening manner. As he leaned inside of his car, Blake was shot seven times in the back, leaving him paralyzed. Scott Olson / Staff / Getty Images Recently, Kenosha County District Attorney Mike Graveley announced that officer Rusten Sheskey, the person responsible for shooting Blake, wouldn't be charged for the incident as it was a justified use of force. Immediately following Blake's shooting, Kenosha's streets were a staple for Black Lives Matter protests, including one where then-17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse reportedly shot three people, killing two. Blake, who was released from the hospital not long ago, recently spoke with Michael Strahan for Good Morning America where he relived that harrowing moment when he was shot in front of his children. "All I remember at that point was kinda leanin' back, lookin' at my boys," said Blake. "I said, 'Daddy love you no matter what.' It was the last thing I said to them at that point." "I thought it was gonna be the last thing I say to them," he continued. "Thank God it wasn't." Check out a clip of Jacob Blake's interview with GMA below and tune in tomorrow for the full discussion. 25. Donald Trump is running out of social media platforms to turn to. Last week's insurrection on Capitol Hill, which left five people dead, has gotten the president impeached. Twitter removed him before other tech giants followed with the latest being Snapchat. A rep for Snap confirmed that they will be permanently banning Trump from the platform in the "interest of public safety." David Becker/Getty Images Trump's now no longer allowed to use Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, as well, and YouTube recently revealed that they'd be suspending his page for a week for a video that they said is in violation of its policies prohibiting the encouragement of violence. This all stems from the riot as well as his poor handling of the situation. “Last week we announced an indefinite suspension of President Trump’s Snapchat account, and have been assessing what long-term action is in the best interest of our Snapchat community,” a Snapchat rep said in a statement to Variety. “In the interest of public safety, and based on his attempts to spread misinformation, hate speech, and incite violence, which are clear violations of our guidelines, we have made the decision to permanently terminate his account.” Trump's account was initially suspended last week but the latest development from the company reveals thathis account will be terminated come Inauguration Day on Jan. 20th.
