  3. As fans expected, Ariana Grande is giving her viral hit "34+35" an upgrade with the help of Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat. There have been requests for these ladies to hop on a track together for months as each of their dedicated fan bases has flooded social media with requests, and on Thursday (January 14), Ariana revealed that she'd obliged. Grande's hit single "34+35" arrived courtesy of her chart-topping album Positions that she shared the day before Halloween last year. The single would have been a pop hit without the help of TikTok, but having the song go viral on the popular app certainly helped. Megan and Doja add their flavor to Ariana's pop princess mix, so check out their remix to "34+35" and let us know what you think. 4. Several artists have shared posthumous collaborations with Juice WRLD, and Young Thug is the latest to deliver a track with the late rapper. Last month marked the one-year anniversary since we lost Juice to an accidental overdose, and since his passing, his family, friends, and fans have kept his memory alive. There were rumors that Juice WRLD has thousands of songs and verses in the vault, so it comes as no surprise that these posthumous projects have been slowly rolling out. Following Thugger's announcement regarding the arrival of the collaboration, "Bad Boy" has finally hit streaming services. The track arrives with an accompanying visual directed by Cole Bennett, and fans once again are excited to hear new music from a life lost far too soon. Let us know what you think of Juice WRLD and Young Thug's, latest and give "Bad Boy" a few streams. 5. He's hoping to repeatedly recreate the success of his hit single "What's Poppin," and Jack Harlow isn't taking anything less. The Kentucky native has been making waves with Generation Now since he crept into the scene, but last year's viral hit help put him on the map as a contender in the rap game. Harlow wants to keep that momentum going for as long as he can, and he's posing himself to have career longevity with some of our favorite legendary artists. Rich Fury / Staff / Getty Images As enthused as Harlow is about his success, he told HipHopDX that he's trying to keep a "cool head" about it all and added that quarantine has helped him in retaining humility about his successes. The rapper admitted that following his recent release That's What They All Say, he does feel pressure to surpass his visibility in 2021. “I like to keep people engaged,” said Harlow. “All these people are listening so I don’t want to just say nonsense or just say something that I halfway mean. I want everything I say to have conviction and be compelling. I see myself as a great and a future great. So I just treat the music that way.” "I think my mission was to prove that I couldn’t really be pigeonholed and put in a box," he added. "That’s why you get such a range and depth to the styles and production because I wanted to show people I wasn’t just my one hit record and I wanted to show people that they didn’t have me right. They really got me fucked up. They really don’t know who I am or what I can do. You can’t pigeonhole me. You can’t put me in a box." Do you think Jack Harlow is a "future great" in the making? 6. For those who may still be holding out hope that the original G-Unit lineup will reunite in the future, Young Buck is here to dash those dreams. The rapper has been on the outs with his previous collective for some time, and his online tiffs with 50 Cent have been messily played out in front of a global audience. After weighing his options, Buck has concluded that even if a G-Unit reunion of some sort were to take place, he wouldn't be taking part. Kevin Winter / Staff / Getty Images "You know, I'm at a point now where I'm just focused on moving forward with my career, with my artists," Buck told VladTV. "I got a helluva team. I got a helluva artist, a group of artists at this point, that's making a lot of noise right now. I've wrote records for 50. He's recited my lyrics, word for word. I've played my part with G-Unit in every kind of way as a loyal soldier, loyal brother, and everything." "At this point, I don't think nothing can move forward with myself unless I'm kinda, you know, paid attention to on what's really owed and what's really the business is on my situation," he continued. "If we could get past that, then I probably would consider it, but I see a lot of different pushes from Game's manager and sh*t in regards to trying to make the Verzuz thing happen and sh*t." Buck said he supports the idea, but his relationship with 50 Cent and G-Unit is "a little bit deeper" than what people may understand. "I'm dealing with somebody that's worked [tirelessly] to end my career, should I quote-unquote say," added Buck. "It's just a different feel when you see somebody go as hard as he's went in regards to me. I really can't see myself being apart of G-Unit or being involved with G-Unit at this point in no kinda way." As much as he's dismissed the idea, Buck stated that he didn't see himself working with the crew back in the day and he ended up being a member of the collective, so anything could happen. "God has his ways of doing things and Imma stay on God's time more than anything... Anything's possible but right now, I'm not considering it." Later he added, "I'm alright. I'm alright regardless. Throughout all the bullsh*t talk and everything that they say, hey man, I'm still sitting here doing alright." Check out the clip from his interview below. View the full article
  7. In the first season of BET's American Gangster, the network gave viewers an inside look at the criminal activities of famed figures like Tookie Williams, Ricky Ross, Nicky Barnes, Lorenzo "Fat Cat" Nichols, and more. For the second season, American Gangster: Trap Queens is highlighting crime bosses who are women, and we previously reported that Lil Kim will be narrating the series. The first five episodes were shared on BET+ today (January 14), and Kim recently spoke about her connection with one of the women featured and what she hopes the viewing audience takes from the show. “I speak about Brandi a lot,” said Kim of Brandi Davis, a "drug boss" out of Detroit who reportedly has ties to El Chapo and the Black Mafia Family. “I feel like we might’ve been in the same room a few times around the whole BMF movement and all of that stuff. I knew the guys so it’s, like, she probably was in the room with us a couple times.” “What I liked is she never stopped persevering," Kim added about Davis. "Even at the end, you can tell, she looks like she’s destined to be someone. Everybody has a past. You can’t be judged on your past but you make the decision to become a better person ultimately, you know what I mean? And I like that most of the girls have made the decision to become a better person.” American Gangster: Trap Queens is airing now on BET+. Check out a few posts from the network about the show below. The publication unveiled the photoshoot for the feature, helmed by famed multimedia artist and photographer Lorna Simpson, and the stunning images have been receiving praise throughout the day (January 14). Rihanna revealed that she's wanted to work with Simpson for some time, but she wasn't sure that she would be able to partner with the acclaimed artist. Frazer Harrison / Staff / Getty Images "Lorna is a legend," said the singer before adding with a laugh, “Honestly, I just didn’t think I could get her but I like reaching for the stars and I like challenging myself.” Meanwhile, Simpson was just as excited to work with Rihanna and called the experience an "amazing opportunity." On their Instagram page, Essence gave the world a look into the coveted collaboration. "Unveiling our January + February cover art featuring a stunning collaboration with global fashion and beauty founder @badgalriri and artist @lornasimpson," wrote Essence on IG. 9. The new "it" app is Clubhouse, a sort of invite-only platform that features a variety of rooms where people are only allowed to connect through audio. Early on, it was a space where industry professionals hosted panels as they discussed tech, finances, and entertainment. For the latter, label heads, executives, and award-winning performers often participate in discussions, and not all are industry-focused. Recently, Tiffany Haddish was accused of bullying after listeners complained on Twitter that she, Jason Lee, and Chakra Bars attacked medical professionals while pandering conspiracy theories about COVID-19. Frazer Harrison / Staff / Getty Images According to Clubhouse users, the celebrities were speaking about COVID, saying that it was a government-created virus that exists to help with facial recognition, and when a doctor spoke about the pandemic, the person was reportedly "bullied." Haddish soon caught wind of her critics and defended herself. "Now People on clubhouse saying I am bullying because I just told the truth," she tweeted. "Funny how some people can’t handle the truth!" she added. "There is a special place in Gods Kingdom for people that like to lie and make up stories on other people." Back in September, Haddish revealed that she contracted COVID-19 without experiencing any symptoms. You can read through some of the reactions below, including Haddish questioning a critic about why they believed her comments were offensive. View the full article
  10. For what fans are hoping is the last time, Keyshia Cole and Ashanti's Verzuz has been rescheduled. The epic Apple Music event will take place on Thursday, January 21, and due to concerns regarding rising COVID-19 numbers, Verzuz will return to hosting their battles in separate locations for safety purposes. The first scheduled date for this matchup was delayed after it was reported that Ashanti contracted coronavirus, and now that she's recovered, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz are taking extra precautions to ensure everyone involves remains healthy. Showing that she's ready for anything, Keyshia Cole gave fans a sneak peek into what she has in store for Verzuz. The R&B powerhouse has been teasing her forthcoming project for some time as she's taken minor breaks from social media in order to grind out the album in the studio. Yet, instead of previewing a new track, Keyshia shared a post where she's seen singing her "Enough of No Love" hit from 2012. She shared a video of herself along with Elijah Blake on a private jet as they jammed out to her song. "N*ggas be running from they past, while running from yo future! Pun intended!" penned Keyshia in the caption. "Meanwhile I was all about my business!! #Verzuz #Album8 period #EnoughOfNoLove My brother @sirelijahblake @kelseyashley_ was there and @cancerblake shot the video!!! Say less." Fans have been speculating just what she may have been talking about in that caption, but we'll let the public be the judge. Check out Keyshia belting out her track below. View the full article
  11. James Harden was officially traded to the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday which means he will now be on the same team as Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. These three players have the potential to be incredibly dangerous alongside one another and fans are eager to see them all on the court at the same time. They are clear contenders to win the Eastern Conference and if they remain healthy, all while building chemistry, there is no reason why they can't give a team like the Los Angeles Lakers a hard time. Not everyone is excited about this latest move, including legendary NBA player Shaquille O'Neal, who was quite critical of Harden recently, noting that the superstar never gave the Houston Rockets his all and that he never came up big when it mattered. Shaq made note of all the superstars who have played alongside Harden and how it never seemed to work out even though it should have. For Shaq, going to Brooklyn is the easy way out and not a great look for a player who won an MVP trophy not too long ago. It's certainly a harsh assessment but coming from Shaq, it isn't too surprising. Kevin Winter/Getty Images for Turner Sports View the full article
  12. The film that John David Washington and Zendaya shot during last year's quarantine finally has a release date. The pair of acclaimed actors star in Malcolm & Marie, a film that explores various aspects of what it means to be in love, and last Friday, the movie's trailer was shared on Netflix. While this is an anticipated project that fans can't wait to see, some people criticized the real-life 12-year age difference between the leading actors. Washington, 36, and Zendaya, 24, are both legal adults, but still, critics took issue with the age gap. Washington addressed the controversy while speaking with Variety about the film and said, "People are going to see in this film how much of a woman she is." The actor added, "She has far more experience than I do in the industry. I've only been in it for seven years. She's been in it longer, so I'm learning from her. I'm the rookie." "Some of the stories she's shared about what she's had to go through with Twitter and everything," he said. "I appreciated her wisdom and discernment when it comes to this business. I admire that." He also stated that he's excited for the work to see "how mature she is in this role" while praising Zendaya's "versatility." Check out the trailer for Malcolm & Marie below. 13. James Harden is now a member of the Brooklyn Nets which is a fact that seemed impossible to fathom just a few months ago. Harden is one of the best offensive players in the entire league and on the Nets, he will be joined by juggernauts like Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Some are skeptical about whether or not these players can co-exist although for now, many are just excited to see three All-Star players share a starting lineup together. Unfortunately, Harden's old tweets have resurfaced recently with one, in particular, displaying his "promise" to remain in Houston for the rest of his life. Of course, Harden ultimately forced his way out of Houston in the worst way possible, making this tweet look even worth in hindsight. As one can imagine, everyone began to comment on the old tweet, delivering some very funny jokes about being caught in 4K and how NBA players are constantly lying about their loyalty. Overall, it's just some harmless fun and we're sure Harden doesn't care too much considering he got his wish now that he's in Brooklyn. You can check out some of the responses, below. 14. The height of his career came when he portrayed the dorky, yet lovable, teen Screech Powers on the 1990s hit series Saved By the Bell, but Dustin Diamond's life has been fraught with struggles. His most serious battle has recently been confirmed after rumors surfaced that the sitcom icon had been hospitalized as he battles cancer. A representative for the 44-year-old actor has come forward to announce that Diamond is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment at a Florida hospital to combat stage IV cancer, calling the diagnosis "serious." "He's undergoing chemo so he will be there at least another week and then we will figure out when he gets to come home," said Diamond's rep. "By next week, we'll have a much better understanding of the severity of his condition and what treatments he will need so that he's comfortable." He added that the actor is feeling "fine" today, but when he was admitted, his health seemed grim. "He was fading in and out, feeling sleepy and tired. On top of all this he also has shingles, so he's been in a lot of pain," explained the rep. While the type of cancer hasn't been revealed, Entertainment Weekly reports that another rep for Diamond added that the actor has "a huge lump on his throat. Peacock has recently revived Saved By the Bellwith the members of the original cast, sans Diamond. On the show, Screech is referenced but it's said that he's spending his time with his robot on the "International Space Station." Fans are hoping to see Diamond return with his former cast in the future. [via] View the full article
  15. James Harden is officially a member of the Brooklyn Nets and considering Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are also on the team, it's hard to believe the Nets got so lucky. Now, they have three of the best offensive players in the entire league and it seems like they have all of the pieces necessary to win the Western Conference and become title contenders. Of course, Harden and Durant have a long history together as they were both teammates on the Oklahoma City Thunder a few years ago. Now, they have been reunited and fans can't wait to see their chemistry on display again. In fact, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the two have been talking about a potential deal for a while and ever since Harden made it clear he wanted out of Houston, KD has been behind the scenes trying to work something out. Streeter Lecka/Getty Images Clearly, KD's efforts paid off as he, Harden, and Kyrie now make up the most potent starting lineup in the entire NBA, as long as Kyrie does eventually come back to the roster. For now, it remains to be seen when Harden will make his debut although KD seems more than happy to carry things by himself, at least for now. Let us know in the comments below how you think this new lineup will work out for the Nets. Ronald Martinez/Getty Images [Via] View the full article
  16. The longstanding friendship between Chris Rock and Busta Rhymes is a sight to behold. The comedian made an appearance on the rap legend's most recent release, Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God, but that's just a small fraction of the real-life brotherly love that Rock and Rhymes have for each other. Throughout his decades-long career, Chris Rock has developed relationships with several Hip Hop and Rap artists, including Run DMC's Jam Master Jay—an icon that was brutally murdered while at his New York City studio in 2002. Rock revisited those painful memories while chatting with Hip Hop icon MC Serch on the Serch Says Podcast. According to Rock, while he attended Jay's funeral those many years ago, Busta Rhymes was there to comfort him. “I love Busta as an entertainer, as a hip dude. I don’t know, I just love Bus,” said Rock. “I remember I was at Jam Master Jay’s funeral. I was crying, I almost fainted I was crying so hard," he said. "I remember Bus kind of picking me up and carrying me out like a soldier, like, ‘You will not be left behind.’ I always remembered that like, ‘I like this guy.’ I just love Busta Rhymes. He never really lets you down. He’s not even underrated, he’s underappreciated.” Check out the brief clip from MC Serch's podcast with Chris Rock below. [via] View the full article

  19. James Harden is one of the best players in the NBA and on Wednesday, he was part of a blockbuster trade that sent him from Houston to Brooklyn. The Nets gave up a lot of draft picks to make this happen although the team feels like their time to win a title is now and they would rather give up their future than sacrifice their present. There has been a lot of discussion about who won the trade and so far, this has elicited some hot takes from the NBA media establishment. Today on ESPN's First Take, Max Kellerman delivered his own view of what took place, noting that he believes the Rockets are now in a better position. As Kellerman explains, the Nets will be horrible once Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Harden leave, while the Rockets will have a much brighter future. "By 2024 do we know what Brooklyn's gonna be?! ... Given the age of the roster and what they gave up, Brooklyn's gonna be really good for a little while, and then probably not so good," Kellerman explained. Of course, if the Nets manage to win a championship within their window, the future won't matter nearly as much considering every franchise dreams of an NBA title. Needless to say, it will take a little while before we know which teams truly came out on top. Jason Merritt/Getty Images View the full article
  20. The discourse surrounding Kyrie Irving has grown tiresome over the past few months as many are always quick to criticize him for the latest thing he has found himself wrapped up in. Over the past week, Irving has been absent from the Brooklyn Nets and it remains to be seen when he will be allowed back with the team. In the meantime, many are up in arms about Kyrie's conduct, with some analysts demanding that he retire and focus on what he actually seems to be interested in. Perhaps the most egregious example of this criticism came from ESPN writer Jackie MacMullan who made some bizarre comments on The Ryen Russillo Podcast. In the episode, MacMullan recalls an argument she had with Irving, noting that she believes all players are "property." “So I will tell you this, I was thinking of all the conversations I’ve had with Kyrie (Irving) through the year,” MacMullan said. “One of them I had, I don’t know, two years ago, we got into an argument about, you know, something. And he’s like, ‘Well there shouldn’t be an NBA draft. Players should be able to go wherever they want to go. We’re not, you know, someone’s property.’ And I’m like, yeah you are dude. That’s the way it works.” These comments were immediately hit with backlash on social media, with many calling MacMullan and Russillo racist for their words. Bill Simmons was also criticized as he went on the same podcast and compared NBA players to dogs. Some of the comments in regards to the podcast can be found below. Let us know what you think of the situation, in the comments section. View the full article
  21. Jordan Brand has been making more of an effort to deliver unique colorways to women sneakerheads over the past few years, and for the most part, they have been extremely successful in doing so. The sneaker world has become more inclusive and with that, we have seen some pretty dope offerings that have certainly made some of the men jealous. One of the latest Jordan Brand silhouettes to get a women's exclusive colorway is the Air Jordan 3 which is about to drop in a "Rust Pink" offering. In the official images below, you can see that the shoe comes with a gorgeous shade of creamy pink that certainly has that unique rust flavor to it. This pink is also placed on the elephant print hits which are spruced up with some grey. Grey is also found on the tongue, where an infrared Jumpman logo is placed right in the middle. 23. LeBron James is currently in his 18th season in the NBA so it only makes sense that he would also be on his 18th signature model with Nike. Ever since breaking into the league back in 2003, LeBron has had his very own signature shoe and over the years, it has been reported that LeBron has a $1 billion lifetime contract with the brand. The latest signature shoe to make its way to the market has been the Nike LeBron 18 which continues to receive new colorways. 24. Asian Doll has had an increased presence in the media following the death of her former boyfriend King Von in a shooting outside of an Atlanta club in November of last year. Since then, the Dallas-native has been paying tribute to the late Chicago rapper in very large ways, even going under the needle a few weeks ago to get a permanent tattoo of Von's visage on her hand. Earlier this week, Asian continued to mourn the loss of her ex-boyfriend by dishing out $85,000 on a custom VVS chain with a bust of King Von on it. In response to haters telling her she's going too far with her bereavement process, the rapper simply said she's "been this way" even before his passing. "I use to rock shirts with Von name on it I use to wear his clothes I use to bang his set I talked like him since day1 been rapping like him," she penned in a tweet. She continued, "I been “queen von/ granddaughter” I been posting this man everything I’m doing now I BEEN DID WHILE HE WAS HERE don’t hate I’m blessed." At the top of the year, Asian Doll appeared on Taraji P. Henson's new talk show and discussed her reaction when she found out her ex-boyfriend had been killed. "When they were saying he was in critical condition, he had already passed away," she said. "Somebody from the hospital got in contact with me, one of the nurse's daughters. She just was crying on the phone, she was like, 'Asian I'm so sorry'. I'm like, nah. I'm like, 'You trippin', he's not.' What do you guys think of the self-proclaimed Queen Von's latest declaration? 25. James Harden was the number one trending topic on social media last night as he was part of a blockbuster deal that sent him to the Brooklyn Nets, where he will now get to play with the likes of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. This trade was massive as many believe it makes the Nets a potential suitor to knock off the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals. The Lakers have proven themselves to be an elite team for the second year in a row, and now, the Nets look like they can match them. In a hilarious Twitter sketch, comedian Mark Phillips recreated what it must have been like for LeBron after first hearing the news of the Harden trade. Phillips depicts LeBron as incredibly angry, all while taking it out on his teammates. Funny enough, James actually saw the clip and reposted it all while reiterating some of the lines. Clearly, LeBron found it all pretty amusing. The Lakers won't have to worry about the Nets too much throughout the season although if the Nets can make their way through the East, an intriguing NBA Finals matchup could be on the horizon. However, this all hinges on whether or not this high-flying Nets team can find the chemistry to stay competitive. Let us know how you think the Nets will do with Harden on the roster, in the comments below. Sean M. Haffey/Getty Images View the full article
