  1. Lil Wayne is a free man, though he wasn't actually in jail. The rapper was facing 10 years in prison over a gun charge that he pled guilty to last month. However, before Trump made his way out of the White House, the former president granted pardons and clemencies to over 100 people that included Weezy F. Baby. Johnny Nunez/Getty Images Trump received plenty of praise from the hip-hop community for his actions. Wayne extended his appreciation for Trump in a tweet. "I want to thank President Trump for recognizing that I have so much more to give to my family, my art, and my community. I also want to thank @bradfordcohen for working so diligently to secure another chance for me," Weezy tweeted. Of course, his pardon meant that there was a need for a celebration so Wayne hit the town last night. The rapper was spotted at a Miami nightclub where many believed he was hosting a "pardon party." That was not the case. Instead, the rapper went to show love to Stevie J on his birthday but still, fans were ecstatic. The second Weezy, who was maskless, entered the party with a blunt in one hand and a styrofoam cup in the other, fans went ballistic. Who wouldn't be? View the full article
  2. Over the last few months, fans have been waiting patiently for Drake's brand new album Certified Lover Boy. This project has been thoroughly teased for months and many thought it was going to be released in January. Of course, this is a timeline that Drake himself had announced back in 2020 when it seemed like the recording process for the album was finally wrapping up. However, Drake has since gone back on that promise, noting that the recovery from his recent surgery cut into his availabilities when it came to working on the project. Now, Drake is back in the studio where he has been hard at work trying to craft the best project possible. There is no telling when the album will be released at this point, although it's clear he is locked in. This was made obvious in a recent IG post from Drake, who wrote "Tried me 100 times" while showcasing himself listening to his new music. While it might just be an Instagram post, this should get fans excited for the prospect of new music in the not so distant future. Drake has always come through for his fans and there is no reason to believe he is going to stop now. Stay tuned for updates on Certified Lover Boy, as we will be sure to bring those to you. 3. It seems that his baby mama is still unhappy with London on da Track. London on da Track has been hitting headlines recently more about his drama with baby mama than his music. Eboni Ivorii, his daughter's mother, took to her Instagram stories as usual to demand child support from her child's father. She made light of the situation by making a play on words with the famed producer's name. "London on da track to go to jail," she said with a laughing emoji. She continued addressing her child's father, stating she won't have any respect for London until he provides for his daughter. Eboni has been blasting London on da Track on Instagram, alleging that he does not take care of his daughter. Earlier this month, Eboni accused the Memphis producer of buying a fake Christmas present for their daughter, sharing that Paris was “never gon get that fake lil truck.” She went on to say that everything London does is a “facade,” and that she’d “let anyone slap me the day Paris sees that truck and or her daddy.” She also claimed that London had not seen his daughter in over a year now. "London bro do better," she said earlier this month. "You do all this big cap sh*t all the time and I act more like a grown man than you. I swear this man does this sh*t on purpose bc he like me talkin dumb." London on da Track said he would "disrespect the mother of his children" in an Instagram story post last November. Hopefully, the two can take their differences off Instagram and resolve them in person. How do you feel about this drama? Let us know what you think in the comments. [via] View the full article
  4. Yak is home. For the past few months, Kodak Black and his attorney made public pleas to the 45th president of the United States to help get the Florida rapper out of prison. It was never clear if Trump actually caught wind of these comments until recently. The rapper was freed from prison this week after Trump commuted his sentence, along with many others. It was 45th's bid farewell to America. Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images Trump's exit from office has been messy and with an impeachment underway, it appears that he might not ever be able to hold office again. In fact, it looks like his post-presidency will be filled with legal issues stacked to the roof. Nonetheless, the people who Trump helped did offer public appreciation for his acts but Kodak's eccentricity takes the cake for being the most creative. Kodak shared a meme of Donald Trump's face photoshopped onto his head with the rapper's iconic Wicks and all. "I Was Already Fuckin Wit Yo Campaign But Shidd We Locked In Na," he wrote, tagging the @POTUS45 account. Shortly after, he shared a picture of a brick of gold with Trump's name across it. This was sent after he released a formal statement after his release from prison, thanking Trump for his commitment to criminal justice reform and for shortening his sentence. The rapper didn't waste time getting into the booth, releasing his first post-prison record, "Last Day In" yesterday morning. View the full article
  5. Alycia Bella has had an impressive start to her career and fans are catching onto the fact that she has a great voice coupled with some phenomenal songwriting ability. With these traits in mind, fans have been hoping to hear her debut album and on Friday, she delivered with a 14-track album called Muse. Coming from the Bay Area, Alycia Bella wears her inspirations on her sleeve throughout the project, and even enlists the likes of Bay Area legend E-40 on the song "Bay Baby Interlude." 6. The Black Mafia Family's head honcho Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory has been behind bars since September 2008 when both he and his brother Terry "Southwest T" Flenory were indicted by the DEA and sentenced to 30 years in prison each for running a nationwide cocaine-trafficking ring between 2000 to 2005. Despite all of the most recent pardons and clemency requests granted due to COVID-19's high prison infection rate, the street legend remains locked up. A new picture of Meech behind bars shows that the former promoter seems to be holding up pretty well. Although he was denied an early release because of an alleged laundry list of behavioral issues in prison, the BMF leader appears very healthy in a new photo that surfaced this week. His brother Terry Flenory was granted a compassionate early release to home confinement due to COVID-19 concerns back in May 2020 in an effort from the Federal Bureau of Prisons to limit the rapid spread of the virus within federal prisons. Big Meech is still serving his 30-year-sentence but and is currently scheduled to be released earlier than originally anticipated in 100 months. Seeking out a compassionate release under the same guidelines, a federal judge rejected his motion, claiming that his prison records suggest he has not changed and still promotes himself as a drug kingpin. He was denied an early release back in July of 2020. [via] View the full article
  7. 2020 was a wild year for Kanye West which says a lot considering how the last few years have gone for him. The rapper made some major moves while announcing the presidential campaign that he ultimately lost. On top of that, the world got a clear view of his marital issues with Kim Kardashian which is now leading to their divorce. In the midst of all of this, Lil Baby found himself dragged into Kanye's drama after 'Ye claimed that the Atlanta rapper didn't want to work with him. That wasn't true. Baby didn't even know that Kanye wanted to work with him until that infamous tweet. Shortly after, they were spotted together in the studio with Kanye recently hinting that a music video for their collaboration is on the way. During a recent interview with NME, the rapper delved deeper into connecting with Kanye West in Wyoming. “[After the tweets] I tried to reach out to him,” Baby said. “I got his number to give each other a direct line then he sent me on a jet to Wyoming – and the rest is history.” Adding that it was "definitely amazing to hear" someone like Kanye West give him his flowers, he explained that it was never his mission to get 'Ye's approval. Ultimately, that's what made it even more special to Baby. Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images "It’s not a regular thing that a lot of people get. A lot of people never get that opportunity or would die for that opportunity. And the fact that I wasn’t even pressing for that opportunity and I got it – I think I respected [that] more," he added. Fans might be anticipating new music from them on Kanye's next project. Baby confirmed that they locked into the studio where "[Kanye] had some songs that I started to lead on." However, it was seeing Kanye in his overall creative element that inspired him even more. Baby not only witnessed 'Ye cooking up in the studio but also witnessed the producer-turned-rapper-turned-designer work on new Yeezy shoes and clothing. “I didn’t actually see [West] work on music too much,” he says, “But I saw him working more in a different form – working on his clothing line and his shoes. That’s even more inspiring than the music.” Are you excited for the Lil Baby x Kanye collab? [Via] View the full article
  8. ChillPill is taking things to a new level. The producer came through with a brand new collaboration alongside Soleima and Rico Nasty titled, "Lil Bitch." With a pop feel from the production and Soleima's vocals, Rico Nasty swings through with a bit of liveliness that spruces the record up in contrast to Soleima's more soothing delivery. The song was released alongside a visual as well as a new video game that includes the three artists. Rico, Soleima and ChillPill run through the video game as they attempt to protect the world from 'lil bitches.' "On the surface level, it's a fun genre-blending idea, almost a tongue in cheek flip on pop culture. On a deeper level, it's really a dark comedy and commentary on the state of the music industry,” ChillPill said about the single. Check the record and video out below. 9. Playboi Carti and Iggy Azalea's public Christmas Day feud over his choice to attend his Whole Lotta Red release party over spending the holiday with baby Onyx was the most insight either one of the artists had ever given into their relationship. They notoriously kept their son's identity a secret and Iggy pledged to keep him out of the public eye before their break-up. In a new part of Adam22's VladTV interview, the No Jumper podcast host is giving his take on why Iggy was pushed to her breaking point right before the release of WLR. Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images Vlad begins the conversation by asking the podcast host why he accused Iggy of sabotaging Carti's album release. He explained she had been pretty quiet through the course of their relationship, but "essentially waited until the eve of Whole Lotta Red to unleash her actual opinions about him as a father." The interviewer then goes on to suggest that Iggy moved to the United States from Australia to get an authentic hip-hop experience, doing just that when she got pregnant by one of the biggest rappers out there "six years her junior," before questioning how Iggy could be shocked by it. A bit more sympathetic towards the "Fancy" rapper, Adam22 said, "To be fair, the scenario she was describing did sound f*cking crazy if he was really at her house the night before telling her they were going on this family vacation and all this shit and then right at the end choose an album release party...I feel for her." He later explained, "I feel like she was a woman who had been pushed to her very last strain of sanity." Listen to the full conversation with the podcast host above. [via] View the full article
  10. Since bursting onto the scene back in 2017, Lil Skies has been through a lot in his career and he has always made sure to profess his pain through music. On Friday, Skies blessed his fans with his latest effort called Unbothered which is his second full-length album. There are some dope tracks on the project, including the album's intro "Fade Away" which is a reflection on the trials and tribulations he has faced on the way to stardom. Throughout the song, Lil Skies offers some insight into his mindset over the past few years. For instance, Skies has always been about helping his friends although, at times, it has been hard to tell who the real ones are. Skies also raps about his childhood and how music was always going to be his way out. This success has continued to fuel the artist and this particular track sets up the content for the rest of the album. Let us know what you think of the song, in the comments below. Quotable Lyrics: I tell myself to hold it down, I know I'm blessed You goin' through the motions, that's gon' be a lot of stress Don't let them fuck up your vibe, know you got it out the mud Yeah, I do it for the love, know they do it just because View the full article
  11. Snitching has always been a hot topic of debate in the hip-hop world although now, it seems like a more pressing issue than ever before. This is especially true in light of the Tekashi 6ix9ine fiasco which saw the rainbow-haired rapper snitch on a plethora of associates, leading to a much shorter sentence than a RICO charge would realistically warrant. Numerous artists have come out against 6ix9ine and those that follow in his footsteps. In fact, artists like Lil Durk have been giving their takes on what snitching really is and whether or not certain actions are truly those of a rat. While taking to Twitter on Saturday, Durk offered an updated clause in the snitching definition, noting that people who take to IG Live with their stories are most definitely in the rat category. "If you talk bout murders and who did what to who on live and know they gone put it on YouTube you a rat," Lil Durk wrote. These definitions and clauses have been disputed over the years although there is no doubt that artists feel very strongly about them. At the end of the day, snitching can negatively impact a whole plethora of people and many in hip-hop are fed up with the politics of it all. Ilya S. 12. KOTA the Friend debuted on the scene with his 2016 mixtape Palm Tree Liquor, earning a small cult following from the success of the project. Turning down three major label deals and electing to remain independent throughout his career, the 28-year-old Brooklyn rapper released his fourth studio album Everything last year with features from Joey Badass and KYLE, and appearances from actress Lupita Nyong'o and Lakeith Stanfield. His collab with Nyong'o on "Lupita's Interlude" made its way on to President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris' Inauguration playlist, propelling the rapper's career to new heights. The rapper's team told TMZ that he was completely blindsided when his track was the very first song on the official inauguration playlist. Since then, he's been reaping the benefits of the shoutout from the West Wing. Since being included in the playlist with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Stevie Wonder, and MF DOOM, his collab with the actress has enjoyed a 90% jump in listeners on Spotify and Apple Music, increasing to 2.5 million total. The track does not feature the rapper's vocals, but rather is a 1-minute interlude of Lupita reciting a poem. KOTA tells TMZ that her moving words were the true driving force of the song being placed on the playlist, and he "hopes the healing nature of their work can help the country heal." Check out the interlude above, and be sure to check out KOTA the Friend's latest effort Lyrics To Go Vol. 2. [via] View the full article
  13. The Bow Wow challenge took on a life of its own. The rapper's attempt to flex on the 'Gram only to be called out has happened one too many times. He's made fun of himself in the past but it appears the pump faking isn't limited to the 'Gram. Maino has his own story of Bow Wow's odd flexes. On the latest episode of the rapper's Kitchen Talk podcast, he recounted his own run-in with Bow Wow in the club where the child star "did something funny." Maino explained that Bow Wow was in the club in New York City when he received a call to come through. After hanging out in the club, and mingling with others, Bow Wow reportedly told Maino that he'd walk out whenever the Brooklyn rapper decided to leave. "He like, 'Yo, my car is around the corner,'" Maino recalled. "We get around the corner and my car is parked right where I thought his driver was at -- where he said his driver was at. So I seen a black truck. My car's right there. I'm like, 'Cool.' We standing there talking, we standing their talking and then like, time is just passing and nobody's leaving. And I guess, like, maybe somebody was waiting for me to leave first or we just vibing. And then he's like, 'Yo, I'm out.' And when he went to leave, I'm like, 'Oh, he jumpin' in the truck.' He went into the street and flagged down a taxi cab... I thought this was your driver?" His co-hosts added that the behavior is kind of weird, especially given Bow Wow's track record. 16. On Saturday, it was discovered that the third-largest lottery prize of all time was won by someone in Michigan. The ticket was apparently purchased at a Kroger grocery store in Novi, which is a suburb of Detroit. The winning numbers of the Friday night Mega Millions drawing were 4, 26, 42, 50, and 60, with a Mega Ball of 24. January of 2016 held the largest lottery jackpot ever in the US, totaling $1.586 billion. That prize, however, was split by three different tickets from California, Florida, and Tennessee. October of 2018 held the second-largest lottery prize of $1.537 billion, which was won by one ticket purchased in South Carolina. This week, the Powerball jackpot was nearly as high as the Mega Millions, totaling $731 million. On Wednesday, someone in a small Maryland town won this massive prize. Scott Olson/Getty Images While we obviously don’t know the identity of the lottery winner, it is clear that this unfathomable prize will completely alter the life of the person who receives it. Since lottery winnings are taxable income and the IRS will tax winners at the highest possible bracket, they will only receive about 60.4% of your winnings. Therefore, the winner of this week’s massive jackpot will likely receive about $600 million of their winnings. [Via] View the full article
  17. Eminem blessed fans back in December when he dropped Music To Be Murdered By: Side B with no warning. The deluxe arrived nearly a year after the standard was released last January and featured tons of new hits for fans to appreciate. Em has just unleashed the visual to "Higher," which appears as the ninth track on the album. Produced by the Detroit legend himself, the song shows off his lyrical wit and discusses his life after fame. The video for the song, which is the official theme song to the fight, debuted on Saturday during ESPN's UFC 257 Countdown: Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor 2. The "Higher" visual includes exclusive footage from the fight in montages throughout the video, while other scenes show Em portraying the role of both an artist and an athlete, highlighting the parallels between the two professions. Instead of fighting another opponent, Em is tasked with fighting against his own demons instead. Dana White and ESPN's Michael Eaves also appear in cameo roles for the video. In a statement made by Interscope Records Sports and Gaming VP David Nieman, he expressed his goal in working with the sports network. “We have always been interested in fostering the synergy between music and sports and along with ESPN we have created many great moments together,” said Nieman. He continued, “Working together to amplify Eminem's artistic vision in such a unique way for this highly anticipated UFC event is absolutely a high point.” Check out the video above and drop a comment letting us know what you think. 18. In 2020, Lil Baby came through with his album My Turn which quickly turned into his biggest commercial triumph to date. The album remained atop the Billboard charts for much of the year and it was the best-selling hip-hop album of 2020. Lil Baby also crushed the year with his multitude of features that immediately made him one of the most demanded artists in the music industry. Needless to say, it was a great year for Lil Baby, and with the success came a whole lot of cash. When it comes to making money, everyone has their own unique way of spending it, and Lil Baby is no different. While he has been known to splurge on some diamond chains, Baby also likes to own a fair amount of cars, and recently, he got to show off some of the vehicles in his collection. In the video above, you can see that all of Baby's cars are black and a lot of them are large trucks. For instance, he got to show off a Lambo truck that will certainly have car enthusiasts jealous. Meanwhile, he appears to have a Hellcat, as well as some foreign cars with unique features, including one truck where you can see the engine through the hood. Based on these revelations, it's clear that Baby is doing extremely well for himself, and we're sure that trend will continue throughout 2021. Cindy Ord/Getty Images View the full article
  19. It’s no secret that Kelly Rowland has the power, and she showed just how powerful she is by still hitting the gym while nine months pregnant. The “Motivation” singer is expecting her second child with her husband of six years Tim Weatherspoon, and despite her due date being right around the corner, she's showing us that the grind never stops. On Wednesday, Rowland’s personal trainer Rebecca Broxterman documented their latest workout routine on Instagram. The post showed Rowland in black leggings and a peach sports bra doing wall-sits with her belly as large as ever. “She’s still pregnant so we are still working,” Broxterman captioned the post. Rowland has been putting in work in her home gym. She shared a series of clips doing bodyweight exercises, including a wall sit, squats, and donkey kicks. Broxterman posted another clip of the former Destiny’s Child member doing a set of squats. “What is this baby waiting for?” Rowland wrote when she reposted the story. Rowland opened up about her pregnancy for a cover story in Women’s Health last fall. She revealed that she was just as active when carrying her son Titan, who is 6 now. “I swam, I did yoga, I did weights, I jogged and walked," she told the publication, and it seems she’s stuck with staying active. Throughout her pregnancy, Rowland has shared a number of videos dancing in her backyard and living her best life with her pregnancy glow. [via] View the full article
  20. Earlier this week, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were sworn in as the 46th President and 49th Vice President of the United States, respectively. While there were many memorable moments through the course of the inaugural ceremony, Bernie Sanders' and his park-mitten combo truly stole the show and created a cultural phenomenon. Forgoing wearing a formal suit and dress coat, the Vermont senator's cozy get-up has become so popular that even J. Cole has shared an edit of the former presidential candidate edited onto the cover of his album 2014 Forest Hills Drive. In perhaps the best edit yet, Janet Jackson has just shared a raunchy edit of Bernie embracing the musical legend. The original image of Janet from the 90s features a topless Janet with her breasts covered by the hands of an unseen person. She simply captioned the hilarious post, "#FridayMood." The legendary photo is from the photoshoot for Janet's iconic self-titled fifth studio album released back in 1993 that cemented her as an international superstar and sex symbol. The album came after an intense bidding war over her recording contract that ended up with the songstress signing a $40 million deal with Virgin Records America, making her the highest-paid musical act at the time. Janet wrote all of the lyrics for the album and co-produced every single song on the album in an effort to distance herself from her family after critics tried to attribute her success to the family name. With such a rich history behind the seminal sultry snap, it's no wonder Janet reposted the perfectly-edited meme. View the full article

  23. XXXTentacion is an artist who polarized fans while he was alive although, despite the varied responses to his music, there was no denying that he had a massive fanbase. A perfect example of this is the fact that just this past week, X's 2018 track "SAD!" officially hit over 1 billion views on YouTube, which is a pretty incredible achievement. Today marks what would have been XXXTentacion's 23rd birthday and to celebrate, many fans are going back into his catalog and listening to some of their favorite X songs. As a way to honor the artist, XXXTentacion's estate took to his Instagram story, where they shared a birthday wish X had all the way back in 2018. In the image below, you can see that at the time, X just wanted to see a more peaceful world. Image via Instagram "My birthday wish is to unite the world and to end the huge physical and spiritual war going on, let us all agree to disagree," XXXTentacion wrote. Over the course of the last three years, it truly feels like the world has gotten worse for wear especially with COVID-19 continuing to rage on throughout the world. Hopefully, X's wish is someday realized considering it would be an immense positive for our world. Jason Koerner/Getty Images View the full article
  24. Last week, Skai Jackson made headlines after some NSFW messages leaked from her alleged former boyfriend Julez Smith Jr. The son of Solange claimed that Jackson had cheated on him during their relationship so he "got revenge." Alongside the texts, an intimate video of the young actress also leaked online, with many suspecting Smith was the source of the video released as revenge porn. The 18-year-old has remained pretty cryptic about the situation, doing nothing but sharing a shady message in her story. Of the many eligible bachelors who have surely reached out to Jackson since the news, one of them is none other than NLE Choppa. After another Twitter user tweeted to the actress, "if you ever see this I wanted to ask if you single because I fell in love with you, this was hard to say," the actress revealed that she was now single. After catching wind of the tweet, the Tennesse native simply replied "Umhm," to the declaration from Jackson. He later went on to name-drop the young actress during a live stream, once again making public his crush on the Jessie star. "I like Skai Jackson," he says, before asking viewers why they were "talking about his little boo." Tons of Instagram users were in favor of the two teenagers becoming an item, but its no telling whether this potential romance will ever come into fruition. View the full article
