  1. Over the last three seasons, Patrick Mahomes has arguably been the best quarterback in the NFL. In the past two seasons, he has made two-straight Super Bowls and even won one of them. However, Mahomes lost in the Super Bowl on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and it turned to be the worst loss of his NFL career, thus far. Now, Mahomes has to go back to the drawing board, and fans are hoping to see the young QB bounce back in a massive way. According to NFL Network reporter James Palmer, Mahomes is already back at work and has been studying film from the Super Bowl. As Palmer reported, Mahomes is particularly interested in the mental aspects of his game and battling his own sense of what's happening around him. Mahomes felt like he missed a lot of opportunities last season, and he wants to change that. After losing in the Super Bowl, it would seem that Mahomes also wants to work on getting the ball out quicker, and finding his receivers in a more efficient fashion. In terms of arm strength and skill, Mahomes is already well ahead of the pack, although consolidating his mental game would make him that much more of a weapon. The Chiefs will be in a position to make another deep run next season, and we're sure Mahomes will be ready for that call. In fact, if he does improve his mental game, the league might not have much of a chance. Patrick Smith/Getty Images http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/nEbAfsG_RWIView the full article
  2. Although he's one of the most polarizing young artists in the music industry, NBA YoungBoy has a steady grip on the young generation of Hip-Hop enthusiasts. Within the past few months alone, the Baton Rouge artist has welcomed his latest child with Yaya Mayweather and reportedly become the center of an FBI investigation, but even throughout his ups and downs, NBA YoungBoy is one of the most unstoppable forces in rap today. Gary Miller/Getty ImagesIn a recently leaked clip, NBA Youngboy is seen shooting a music video for an unnamed song, and the rapper appears to be channeling another controversial and legendary figure in rap: Tupac. In the clip, NBA is seen rocking a bald head, a '90s-style sweater, and a full goatee. Of course, Twitter users were quick to respond to the Top artist's surprising new look. Yet as we've seen with Tessica Brown's Gorilla Glue fiasco, the internet is truly undefeated, and the aforementioned video, like countless others circling social media, isn't exactly what it seems. Many users pointed out that the 38 Baby artist's new look was simply the result of a Snapchat filter, causing mixed reactions from fans. Although it would have been interesting to watch, it appears that a Tupac-inspired NBA YoungBoy isn't on the way after all. Seeing as NLE Choppa just released a music video that saw the Memphis rapper recreating iconic Tupac imagery, would you have been excited about a potential music video in which NBA YoungBoy would be doing the same? 3. Can a day go by without people trying to pit two successful women in rap against one another? Cardi B was in attendance at the Super Bowl game this Sunday, hanging out with Offset, Meek Mill, Lil Baby, Quavo, and more in a luxury suite. Notably missing from any pictures though was Saweetie, Quavo's partner-in-crime. The Bay Area rapper confirmed that she was also in Tampa Bay for the weekend, so many were shocked not to see her in the box with Cardi, Offset, and her boyfriend. Of course, speculation started flying that Cardi had ordered for the Icy Girl to stay out of her space. As the chatter got louder and louder, Saweetie and Cardi B remained silent on the matter. However, Cardi's sister Hennessy Carolina stepped in to clear everything up, prompting a whole other kind of speculation. Prince Williams/Getty ImagesAfter somebody called her out for allegedly shading Saweetie in a video where she speaks about facial fillers, Hennessy responded, "I never followed sawtie [sic] so wtf are you talking about and secondly saweetie manager and cardis spoke yesterday about a project so stop trying to create narratives! Feen!" Wait, hold up? A full project from Cardi B and Saweetie? Sign me up. The two rappers have been linked for the last two years through their Migos affiliations, but they haven't done much work together in the studio. Hopefully, Cardi's sister isn't capping about the project, because that sounds like something that a lot of people would be interested in. Jeff Kravitz/Getty ImagesNow that we know Cardi and Saweetie aren't beefing, would you be down for a project from the two rappers? 4. This season, the New York Knicks have been a pleasant surprise to many throughout the league as they are currently in the hunt for a playoff spot. Their young roster has been thriving under the leadership of Tom Thibodeau and with Derrick Rose now on the roster, it's clear this team is looking to do big things this season. With this in mind, it should come as no surprise that the Knicks are looking to make even more big moves in the near future. In a report from Marc Berman of The New York Post, it was revealed that the Knicks have a couple of other players in mind, including the likes of Bradley Beal and Victor Oladipo. Patrick Smith/Getty ImagesAs it stands, Oladipo is on the Rockets while Beal is on the Wizards. There have been rumors that Oladipo could be traded in the near future, while Beal has stated that he wants to finish this season with the Wizards, no matter what. The Knicks have plenty of future assets to give these teams, and it seems reasonable that they could end up in New York if the price is right. While the Knicks have been poorly run over the past decade, they seem to be heading in the right direction and fans can't wait to see what they do next. With this latest report in mind, Knicks fans should be excited, albeit while exercising some caution. 5. If you're a fan of the NBA, then you know that the Brooklyn Nets are one of the most loaded teams in the league right now. While their depth may leave a lot to be desired, there is no question that their starting lineup is elite thanks to the likes of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden. These players are already finding a way to co-exist although, as expected, their biggest problem right now is a lack of defense that seemingly hasn't resolved itself. Today on First Take, Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman debated which player on the Nets will need to be their key guy if they want to win the title. Shockingly, Kellerman went off script and said DeAndre Jordan, which surprised Smith, who could only help but laugh at the absurdity of it all. In the clip above, Kellerman actually makes an interesting case as he notes that the Nets have struggled mightily with their defense and that Jordan is a guy who can grab rebounds and get defensive stops when the team needs it most. A good defense is a good offense, and Jordan could ultimately prove to be a facilitator on both sides of the floor. While these are certainly great points, it's clear that if the Nets want to win it all, it will have to be their big 3 that ultimately steps up. If Harden, Durant, and Irving consolidate their defensive efforts, there is a reason to suspect that this Nets team can turn things around. 6. If you haven't been tapped into Philadelphia rapper Lil Muk yet, it's time to get hip to the 19-year-old making noise locally and nationally. The young rapper has had a few successful single campaigns but his fans have been begging for a full-length project, which he happily delivered on Thursday. His debut project About Time is out now and it's sure to get a lot of attention because of the second track, "Living Life", which features Lil Baby. Back in June, Lil Baby announced that he's expecting six figures for a feature, so it's safe to assume that Lil Muk cashed out for his latest record with the superstar. "Living Life" is a melodic song that also features YXNG K.A., showcasing Muk's storytelling ability and cementing him as one of the upcoming faces of Philly. Listen to the new song below and let us know if you've got Lil Muk on your radar. Quotable Lyrics: I told my mama that I got her so many times I told my brother that I got him so many times No, I can't trust you, all my life they told a n***a lies We in this race and I'ma see 'em at the finish line http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/cM-tx43a-I4View the full article
  7. People love to pit others against each other. Especially in the music business, we've seen this competitive rap game turn violent because of beef, or because of jealousy. Because of the sheer volume of new releases on a daily basis, it's only natural for rap fans to rank their favorite artists, often sharing their opinions on forums like Twitter. Recently, with the rise of Lil Durk into superstardom, it's been asked whether the Chicago rapper's success is sustainable. Many are arguing that he'll hold his spot for a long time, while others are considering his ranking in the overall landscape of where hip-hop is at today. When DJ Kam Bennett, known for his work with Lil Bibby, shared his opinion on Lil Durk's incredible year, he argued that Smurk has surpassed the likes of Meek Mill in terms of his relevance as an artist. His tweet sparked a debate on Twitter. "I never thought I’d see the day where Lil Durk would be a bigger artist than Meek Mill... but here we are," wrote Bennett, getting Meek's name trending as users responded to his thoughts. For the most part, people disagree with the take, claiming that Meek is a "certified legend" and has been in the game for longer. However, what people are failing to realize is that Lil Durk only gained mainstream favor in the last few years. He's been hustling since before Meek's debut album dropped. Both are incredible artists who have developed tremendous careers for themselves. Since this topic is being discussed on social media though, let's bring it to the comments. Who's the bigger artist? Lil Durk or Meek Mill? http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/jfUtgGj08jMView the full article
  8. Tom Brady was feeling on top of the world on Wednesday and with good reason. His Tampa Bay Buccaneers had just won the Super Bowl and yesterday, he got to celebrate in epic fashion during a parade out on the water. Throughout the afternoon, Brady was getting increasingly drunker as he continued to down some alcohol with his teammates. One clip of Brady went viral as he could be found laughing while stumbling around, all while being helped by a friend. Brady has always had a good sense of humor about this stuff, so when he saw the clip, he opted to take to Twitter, claiming that his drunkenness was "Noting to see her...just litTle avoCado tequila." This then prompted a reply from LeBron James, who completely understood where Brady was coming from. "Man o man I wish we were able to have our parade too cause I would have been walking beautifully just like you," LeBron said. Of course, the Lakers couldn't engage in a real parade due to COVID-19. Instead, the team had a small party in Las Vegas, although it was nothing like what the Buccaneers did. LeBron and Brady are two of sports' greatest champions right now and even at their current ages, they can still compete at an insane level. After the season, perhaps LeBron and Brady will have to get together for some of that aforementioned Avocado Tequila. 9. B. Simone may soon find her ‘boooyfriend.’ The Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Chris Smith shared a boomerang post on his Instagram Story, posing with the Wild ‘N Out comedian and thus stirring rumors. Screenshot via InstagramSimone has been looking for love for quite some time, as we’ve seen on Zeus TV’s You’re My Boooyfriend. The 11-episode series featured an unlikely group of people that didn’t necessarily bring love into Simone's life, but rather, a world of chaos. The Texas native spent a year trying to bag DaBaby on Wild 'N Out too, but unfortunately, that didn't work out in her favor. Smith has also had his fair share of heartache in the past. In September 2019, the NFL player’s girlfriend, and mother of one of his three children, died tragically in a car accident. He played for the Cleveland Browns at the time, and was waived from the team shortly after. Despite the difficult year, the Raiders’ player has moved forward. On an IG post that declared the two were an item, fans seemed to be happy for the would-be couple. While the pairing seemed to come as quite the surprise, social media admirers couldn't help but comments on how cute they look together. “She finally got a boooooooooyfriend,” one user commented, referencing the title of the dating show, You’re My Boooyfriend, which B. Simone starred in two years ago. “He’s nice. He’s been through a lot. I hope they work,” another person commented. Can you see these two as the next power couple? 10. Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers became Super Bowl champions last Sunday in what was a blowout of a game. Many thought the Kansas City Chiefs would come away victorious, although, in the end, the Bucs proved to be too good on the defensive and offensive ends. Since the match, the Buccaneers have been doing a lot of celebrating, especially on Wednesday as the team had their parade on the waters in Tampa, Florida. While Rob Gronkowski is typically known as the team's big party animal, it seemed as though Brady took to the crown on Wednesday. In the clip below, Brady seems to be having a hard time walking as he laughs uncontrollably. It was clear that Brady was drunk and needed just a little bit of help moving around. At one point during the festivities, Brady threw the Lombardi trophy off of his boat to another one that was trailing him on the water. It made for a great moment, and it was yet another example of just how much fun the Buccaneers were having during the evening. Moving forward, celebrations will most likely be continued well into the offseason, as this Bucs team looks to enjoy the fruits of their labor. This was a massive achievement that everyone on the team will remember for the rest of their lives. 11. Though Tom Brady has elicited no shortage of haters throughout his legendary career, his seemingly endless slew of accolades has many praising him as one of the greatest athletes of all time. Even 50 Cent, who is largely critical of damn near everything this side of #LeCheminDuRoi, couldn't help but pay respects to the esteemed quarterback. Now, as Brady continues to drown himself in celebratory libations following his massive Super Bowl victory, Eminem has taken to social media to give a shout out to the seemingly unstoppable winner. Dave J Hogan/Getty Images After Brady shared a brief video clip set to the soundtrack of Eminem's classic "Without Me," Em returned the favor by offering up some kind words of encouragement. "Congrats, @TomBrady," writes Em, alongside Brady's original video post. “They hate us cuz they ain’t us!” Of course, the slogan has been long adopted by Brady's former team, The New England Patriots, but perhaps Em found himself relating to the defiant flex. Slim has long fielded no shortage of haters, despite the fact that he remains one of the greatest rappers of all time. Not to mention the fact that Em has previously drawn a comparison between himself to Brady on Music To Be Murdered By's "Premonition," where he lamented how quickly fans will turn their back on a public figure during a moment of adversity. "They do the same shit to Brady," he warned. "More people hate me than love me, this game will make you go crazy.” Check out Eminem's congratulatory message to Tom Brady below. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/jst83miqzGAView the full article

  13. Dr. Dre appears to be recovering well, after suffering from a brain aneurysm that landed him in the ICU. Since returning home, it seems not only has his health returned, but his love life may also be thriving. The producer was spotted out at BOA Steakhouse in West Hollywood, California for dinner with a woman on Wednesday night, whom many are speculating is none other than Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood star Apryl Jones. In both photos and video captured from the evening, th rapper seemed to be keeping things casual in an all-black fit. The “Nuthin But A G’Thang” rapper sported a black hoodie, black sweats, and a black baseball cap. The woman wore a bold plaid coat with matching leggings tied together with a black lace bralette. Despite the inability to identify faces due to masks, fans believe Dre’s mystery date is none other than Apryl Jones, Omarion’s ex-wife who was under fire for dating his former B2K bandmate, Dreux “Lil Fizz” Frédéric. The Shade Room uncovered photos of Jones' tattoos (below), showcasing an identical tattoo in the same location on Dre's date. Mike Coppola/Getty Images & Maury Phillips/Getty ImagesThe Compton native is in the middle of finalizing his divorce with estranged wife Nicole Young, whom he married in 1996. According to a report from TMZ, the Beats Electronics founder has been providing about $294,000 monthly to Young since their split. The former couple continues to work things out in a rather nasty court battle, including the handling of a prenuptial agreement that Dre reportedly destroyed during a good part of their marriage. Young has reportedly requested the court to look into the cash flow of the three mistresses the rapper was involved with during their 25-year long marriage. 14. Virality is a phenomenon that is central to the internet age. The internet has allowed anyone to become famous, for better or for worse. Virality is especially important in the music industry, as it can help an artist become discovered to the masses. The most recent example of this would be Lil Nas X, who got famous for his TikTok hit "Old Town Road." Of course, there were quite a few forefathers to the viral movement and chief among them is none other than Soulja Boy. Back in 2006, Soulja Boy became famous for his track "Crank Dat," which was discovered on Limewire after the artist was giving misleading titles to the song, so that people would download "Crank Dat," instead of the song they really wanted. As a result, Soulja Boy has continued to live in infamy, and recently, he proclaimed his role in the era of virality. Soulja Boy certainly makes a good case for himself, although viral videos were certainly circulating prior to 2006. However, in the music space, one could make the argument that Soulja was the first, and ultimately laid the groundwork for generations to come. Let us know if you agree with Soulja's assessment of himself, in the comments below. Rich Polk/Getty Images http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/b7GsCcLgfbQView the full article
  15. Rileyy Lanez is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter signed to Columbia Records, and the emerging artist is poised to become one the most authentic voices in R&B. Last year, Lanez dropped off her Beautiful Mistakes EP as well as a stripped-down piano version of “I’m Leaving,” and she was also featured on 50 Cent’s “Part of the Game,” which is serving as the official theme song for the upcoming Power spinoff, Raising Kanan. Now, Rileyy returns with a heartfelt single that's near and dear to her heart. "When I See You (Lamont's Song)" paints the story of the pain and hardships that the Bronx artist and her family experienced following the loss of her father. Throughout the song, she graces one of R&B's most iconic instrumentals and flips Fantasia's classic record "When I See U" to honor and remember her fallen father. The song was also released alongside a music video, which begins with archival news footage that details the aftermath of the 2014 shooting that resulted in the death of Rileyy's father. Together, the single and music video make for an authentic and heartfelt effort that offers fans a poignant glimpse into the talented singer-songwriter's struggles. 16. While Russell Wilson had a great start to last season, it quickly became clear that the Seattle Seahawks simply didn't have enough pieces to go far in the playoffs. Their defense was particularly suspect and their offensive line struggled mightily, which forced Wilson to scramble around, more often than not. Recently, Wilson was on the Dan Patrick Show where the QB was asked about how he feels about the Seahawks. That's when Wilson voiced his displeasure with the team, stating that he got hit way too much last season. Following this revelation, Patrick got word from people around the team that Wilson and the Seahawks are not on good terms. In fact, this could be spelling trouble for the future. “A source told me that the Seahawks’ management is not happy with Russell Wilson and his camp for taking this to the media,” Patrick revealed. “You wonder if they’re going to be able to co-exist. . . . The current situation is not sustainable. That’s what I was told.” Interestingly enough, it was revealed last weekend that teams had called the Seahawks asking if Wilson was available, although the team immediately hung up the phone. With this latest news in mind, perhaps more teams will have the guts to start calling the Seahawks front office, especially if things get worse between the two sides. 17. There's probably a case to be made that the Griselda camp has already delivered at least one classic album, though that should be left to the hip-hop purists to debate. Of course, between Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, and Benny The Butcher, there is certainly enough material befitting of the classic title, given how dominant their run has been over the past few years. And it's not set to slow down anytime soon -- not with Benny gearing up to launch his new album The Plugs I Met 2. Johnny Nunez/WireImage/Getty ImagesToday, The Butcher shared a promising update from his balcony in Miami, teasing that his next body of work was about to be a big one. "Plugs 2 on the way," he confirms. "Everytime I come to Miami it's right before I drop a crazy project. Never question what I do. Four years straight, three classics, about to be four. Put some respect on my shit, this is what I do. Big BSF. Big Griselda. Plugs 2, Harry Fraud what up?" Few can argue that Benny hasn't earned the right to be confident in what he brings to the table, having easily solidified himself as one of the game's most consistent emcees. With The Plugs I Met 2 having been confirmed to be arriving in full on March 19th, be sure to keep an eye out for further glimpses at guest appearances and artwork as they surface. 18. Lil Muk is staking his claim as one of the fastest rising stars from Philadelphia, releasing his debut project About Time. In the mind of the 19-year-old rapper, it's about time for Lil Muk to get the attention he's deserved. The up-and-comer has been bubbling for the last little while, and he's making sure that he doesn't go underlooked. The budding star comes through with a collection of nine tracks for his first project, recruiting one of the world's biggest stars to bring eyes to his product. Of course, I'm referring to Lil Baby, who is featured on the melodic "Living Life" alongside YXNG K.A. While that's the song that will likely get the most attention from Lil Muk's new tape, the entire project requires a listen through. About Time spotlights the pained-yet-triumphant "Best For You", as well as the buzzing "26 Missed Calls". Listen to the new release below and let us know if you're a fan of Lil Muk. Tracklist: 1. 19. Last Friday, Pooh Shiesty unleashed his highly-anticipated debut mixtape Shiesty Season, a 17-track effort that housed features from artists such as Foogiano, Gucci Mane, 21 Savage, Lil Durk, and more. If you haven't yet heard the project, it's filled with bangers, and as a result, fans have responded accordingly and ran up Pooh Shiesty's first-week numbers. On the brink such a milestone achievement, however, Pooh Shiesty got into it with fellow Memphis rapper EBG Jizzle this past week. After hearing that the artist (who had previously released a diss track aimed at Pooh Shiesty and Lil Durk) was rumored to be paralyzed, Pooh Shiesty took to the 'gram to mock and taunt his rival. Soon after, EBG Jizzle confirmed from the hospital that although he was shot, he hasn't been paralyzed, contrary to previous reports. Whether there's still smoke between the two artists remains to be seen, but for now, Pooh Shiesty is bringing the focus back to his artistry with the release of his latest music video. "See Red," a standout from Shiesty Season, is the latest song from the tape to get a visual treatment. The two and a half-minute video is a minimal offering that's mainly set in Shiesty's home and driveway. Color-tinted visual effects complement the video's hazy shots, and two women dance beside the Memphis rapper throughout the video. As previously mentioned, there's not much going on in the video, but it's still a welcomed victory lap from one of rap's most captivating new artists That being said the "See Red" video, like the song, is heavy on the "Blrrrd," so check it out for yourself. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/fsI10xOe2lgView the full article
  20. Mark Cuban has always been forward-thinking when it comes to being an NBA franchise owner, and this past week, it was revealed that he was experimenting with something new. Simply put, Cuban was no longer playing the American National Anthem before Mavericks games. Since the team wasn't hosting fans, Cuban felt like it was unnecessary, and also questioned why we have this tradition, to begin with. While some fans were offended by the premise, others praised Cuban, noting that the tradition is fairly pointless. Now, however, the NBA is stepping in as fans have been allowed back in the arenas. According to the New York Times, the NBA came out with a statement Wednesday, noting that the anthem must be played prior to every game. Hector Vivas/Getty Images“With N.B.A. teams now in the process of welcoming fans back into their arenas, all teams will play the national anthem in keeping with longstanding league policy,” NBA Spokesman Mike Bass said. This eventually led to a response from Cuban saying “We are good with it." At this point, it seems like the NBA wants nothing to do with changing their current policy. While the NBA has been supportive of players over the past year, there are some institutions that they feel are unnegotiable. Perhaps this attitude will change, although for now, Cuban will have to go back on his initial plans, until further notice. 23. Quando Rondo ended the year with a lot of media coverage stemming from his connection to King Von's shooting death. The Savannah, Georgia-based rapper was present on the scene where King Von lost his life. His associate, known as Lul Tim, reportedly fired the shots that ended Von's life after the rapper seemingly sucker-punched Quando, as allegedly seen on video. As Von's murder suspect remains behind bars, Quando is off the hook as it has been revealed that the rapper is not under investigation. He has been moving around freely, appearing to be pretty unbothered about his connection to King Von's killing. At times, Quando has gotten pretty menacing with his threats on social media. He continued that activity with a new picture, posing with a couple of his homies, Crip bandanas, and guns. "On Ralphie Grave I’m thirsty For Some [blood]," wrote the 21-year-old rapper on Instagram. "These N***as Think Sh*t Sweet Aint nobody Safe Not Even My kind , From Now On It’s My Way Or The Grave yard And I Mean That Sh*t." Quando Rondo doesn't seem to be playing around anymore, and he's definitely ready to tell even more of his story on his upcoming release. The rapper has been teasing his next mixtape, saying, "Y’all B*tCh Ass N***az Keep Smaccin Y’all Lipz And Shakin Y’all Ass ! Y’all Really Gone Hate Me When My Tape Drop !" 24. Over the past few decades, the NBA has been bubbling into one of the most popular sports leagues in the entire world. Athletes like LeBron James and Steph Curry are international superstars, all while teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, and Boston Celtics, are household names all around the world. As a result, many of these teams are worth billions of dollars, and their valuations continue to increase, regardless of the product on the court. Recently, Forbes put out its annual list of most valuable teams, and some of the names here shouldn't surprise anyone. As it stands, the New York Knicks are the most valuable team in the league at $5 billion, while the Warriors come in second at $4.7 billion. From there, the Lakers are third ($4.6 billion), all while the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics are fourth and fifth at $3.3 billion and $3.2 billion, respectively. Despite the Knicks' poor results, Forbes explained while the evaluation is so high. Michael Reaves/Getty ImagesPer Kurt Badenhausen: "The Knicks have lost nearly 70 percent of their games over the past six seasons and won only one playoff series since 2000 and have still managed to retain the No. 1 spot. The team's valuation is largely a result of the $1 billion renovation of MSG, a blockbuster local TV deal and the team's place in the largest and richest North American sports market." Teams that have new arenas like the Golden State Warriors have been able to increase their worth, although for now, it seems like the Knicks will remain at the top thanks to their market, and newly renovated home as Madison Square Garden. All of the teams in the top 5 have a ton of history, and we doubt the order will flip, anytime soon. 25. It's been ten years since we last received an album from Bad Meets Evil, the diabolic partnership forged by Detroit emcees Royce Da 5'9" and Eminem. And though there have been a few hints indicating that a sequel is on the horizon -- for the most part, Bad Meets Evil 2 falls firmly into wishful thinking territory. As such, it feels appropriate to highlight one of the project's highlights, especially in light of our recent conversation with the legendary Havoc. It so happens that the Mobb Deep producer laced the album's opening track "Welcome 2 Hell," conjuring up an appropriately dark and ominous backdrop for Em and Royce to body. On that note, the track contains some of Slim and Nickel's most fluid chemistry, with each verse arranged to segue brilliantly into the next. Should they indeed look to reunite for another new effort, it would certainly behoove them to bring Havoc back into the mix, as his grimy and notably dark approach speaks effectively to the group's preferred aesthetic. Be sure to check this one out now, especially if you need a reminder of why Em and Royce are revered as a duo -- would you welcome a sequel to Hell: The Sequel? QUOTABLE LYRICSGuess who just came through to blast you bitches? With the ratchet, the book of Matthew, a book of matches Lighting 'em under white linen You 'bout to have to admit it They pass you the mic, asked you, spit it And you got handed your own ass, your ass in your own hands I'm sure they gon' laugh when you're going to the bathroom with it http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/realhotnewhiphop/~4/DK7izOY8w1oView the full article
