  1. two cliches or whatever: 'oh how the mighty have fallen' and 'time has not been kind.'
  2. i can't handle stories like this, i can't even handle reading the comments (once i realised it wasn't our georgie boy-prez). scrolling down, i can't even handle the pics. just sayin'. :(

    Rammstein!

*snigger* another lebowski fan amongst us? anyway, Chris loves them; i've got a lot of their stuff in my i-tunes but rarely listen.
  4. for once i did, mostly cause it's Jon Stewart and i've been too busy or away to watch him lately. thank you, Dude. there's a lotta ins and a lotta outs to this case (sorry, lebowski again) but he did cover most of the main players (most but not all). :)
  5. good on her *proud for your mom and you for having her* well, neither do i but i'm still linked to rock (i mean the music for once) :)
  6. fuck off, asswipe (i'll believe it when i see it).
  7. so they finally figured out how to raise John and George from the dead? KEWL! details please
  8. i use adium which speaks to everything (and/or jabber) but i won't talk to or add my name/ID to anything M$. if people wanna talk to me, i tell 'em to get at least a yahoo IM. btw, my sister's on AIM or whatever, and i added her only cause she's my sister. i'm about to start raving here but i think i'll have another toke/drink instead. :)
  9. y'all got it, kiwi. i saw a preview of this about two weeks ago. as well as rethug conniving, BOOOOR-ING! *in a Homer voice* too bad there are so many idiots out there.
  10. and if this goes down, there goeth Chris from yahoo! or whatever it might be called /after/. but not before he gets all his stock options or whatever he'll get added to them from M$. he's verily pissed, first job he's had since i know him that he's doing what he digs. i don't know whether to laugh or cry or be happy or sad for him but he sticks to his principles and won't sell out for ANYone, especially M$.
  11. today, cleaning up the flat (i haven't been outside since tuesday apart from taking Hunter for his daily little run on his leash on the catwalk thingy), tomorrow (actually later today) Chris is visiting for 3 days (bank hol on monday), sunday: the Blowout Festival in Cardiff as guests of Captain Paranoid and then a party at his after they play, monday, recooperating (sp?) and taking a taxi w/Chris to the train station late monday night. oh my... i'm guessing you save it for the weekend? (joke!) i've wanted to see this (but obviously can't) since i saw Fracture w/previews of TFF last week. i'm getting jealous here, can't wait until some of what i've seen is out on DVD. please report in DETAIL! so now i know what you mean by that word 'party'. :) actually you're being so esoteric and vague an' stuff, but it's all good in the hood. and there we differ. but as i 'splained to you last week, we have totally dif experiences, it's all good anyway. what WF sed. :)
  12. Koop, your new av and caption are hilarious. so is this about old bands, new, or both? (i'm so out of it musically these days, i just listen to what people i know personally recommend and i can't even keep up w/what they send me). what kills me is seeing is this the same Johnny Burnette whom, a few years back, Alabama 3 permitted to play w/them? (and i do mean permitted, there was some fracas backstage about this). nb: he's (if it's the same dude) down near the bottom of the article linked. as well, i totally love(d) Alex Harvey, i have a pretty rare recording of SAHB w/his good friend the Very Reverend D Wayne Love headlining the gig onstage w/him. yeah, i know, i'm fixated w/my one track mind then again, i think Thee Hypnotics, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Underworld, Cosmic Psychos, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, Black Grape (and every other band of Shawn Ryder's) and on and on are pretty underappreciated, although MLWTTKK are making good money touring their heads off. ps, this thread could go on forever and ever, out of Dude's first post, i agree that the Pogues and Sonic Youth were/are totally underappreciated. good find, Dude, ty (even if it /does/ come from RS).
  13. oh right, blame it on me *snigger*. i had a FABAROO time, it was great to meet WF in person and it felt like we'd known each other for ages. but last weekend, my plane was held on the runway at JFK for like 90 min extra and by the time i got off, went through Customs (they make you do that now), the usual suspect had been up to Victoria Station, gone and had only to come back again. we got into BIG TROUBLE later on w/Chris when i happened to mention to Mark there was no way i could see them play cos i was up for nearly 3 days by then. WF, after i got home, i did my laundry (lol) and dried it and tried to crash at about 5AM but couldn't so i just stayed awake until the plane took off thursday night. apart from the trouble, we all went out to Jamm and had a great night listening to the band. and then the trouble began... bah. i should reallly keep my big mouth shut but i feel more allegiance to Chris than i do to Mark. but that's another story, not fit to go into here. WF, you were still hurtin'? you liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiie.
  14. why doesn't his lawyer make him get a normal haircut? w/the former afro or whatever, and this what-have-you, he's demonising himself. but what do i know?
  15. lol, i love the illo. thanks, kiwi. :)
  16. hahahaha, if she admits to that, lord knows what she's holding back. hey, i wanna Porsche as well. :)
  17. i'm feeling a huge case of Schadenfreude coming on here. just sayin'.
  18. i saw 'Fracture' last week, yes i know it's not on list above but i really dig Anthony Hopkins and one needs a brain to follow the story. hopefully, many more will; i can't wait until it's out on DVD. ps, first time i was in a real theatre in over ten years. apart from the 11$ admission, i was disgusted, actually. but the film was great.
  19. really! she might give them ideas about peace and shit. assholes. lots of them still get their news from corporate media and not from the 'net. and i believe i read somewhere that less than half of US vote. so...just my 2p.
  20. i'm sorry, WF. i was here briefly the other day and suddenly had to run out to GP's. hanging out w/you last wednesday night was one of the only high (and i do mean high) points of the horror of my trip back, as you unfortunately witnessed. GAH! 'the song remains the same.... i'm gonna mail Wayne as soon as i feel like myself more. for some reason, i've lost interest in doing anything (including posting to my own site and talking to Mark) and today i have 101,3 (38,5C) temp but can't see GP until tomorrow when i need to see him ASAP. so today i hate all that as well.
  21. as you must know by now WF, AFAIC 'disturbing' in fiction is good, lol.
  22. thanks you guys. WF i haven't got it yet but i do have your home number.
  23. i'm taking off for London tomorrow, to stay over at Chris's so i can make it to Gatwick and be off to NYC at fuck o'clock on saturday morning. i might not be near a machine for the next week or so (if i don't get popped for creating a disturbance or whatever on the plane) so i hope everyone has a great weekend and a great time next week. see y'all ASAP.
