  1. Have a good time Slum! Have no idea what I am doing this weekend yet. Hopefully the April showers are over for now, so maybe I'll get to get something done outside.
  2. The Talking Heads song "Mind" appeared originally on Fear Of Music, which was released on August 3, 1979. This live version is from a documentary of a 1982 London Wembley Arena show.
  3. Talking Heads - Mind Time wont change you Money wont change you I haven't got the faintest idea Everything seems to be up in the air at this point I need something to change your mind I need something to change your mind I need something to change your mind I need something to change your mind Drugs won't change you Religion won't change you I haven't got the faintest idea Everything seems to be up in the air at this time I need something to change your mind, mind! I need something to change your mind, mind! I need something to change your mind, mind! I need something to change your mind, mind! 4. This is true. This is protected by the same right that Christian Scientists and other religious nuts groups can withhold medical treatment for their kids. Also, we had our dog Misha spade.
  5. Happy Birthday! Eat Cake, Get Laid
  6. Our dog's name is Misha. She's a German Shepherd--I was trying to remember the name of one of those Soviet space dogs, and for some reason I thought Misha was one of them. It was not. This is very tangential to both the topic and the spirit of this thread, but when has that ever stopped me before?
  7. Meanwhile the music industry continues to abuse the airwaves with yet another payola scandal. Fuckers want to have their cake and eat it too.
  8. I kinda liked this one...somewhat existentialist!
  9. Thank ya, thank ya very much! At an average of two posts a day, it will only take me about 41 years to catch up with the Dude!
  10. What is this spam that you speak of?
  11. Duh, i get it! One letter... Pam
  12. Oh. I thought it was going to be a thread about the quite excellent Built To Spill tune, The Plan. SO...now it is. The Plan The plan keeps coming up again The plan means nothing stays the same But the plan won't accomplish anything If it's not implemented Like it's always been And it makes me think of everyone And the cause of this is evident But the remedy cannot be found Cause it's so well hidden This history lesson doesn't make any sense In any less than ten thousand year increments Of common sense edit: didn't realize the sound and the video on this was so poorly synched; the sound quality is still good though, so I don;t know what you're all complaining about
  13. Built To Spill - Cortez The Killer ...been listening to Neil's original version as Zuma has been in heavy rotation lately--just thought of rechecking out this superb 20 minute live remake by Doug Martsch & crew He came dancing across the water With his galleons and guns Looking for the new world In that palace in the sun. On the shore lay montezuma With his coca leaves and pearls In his halls he often wondered With the secrets of the worlds. And his subjects gathered ’round him Like the leaves around a tree In their clothes of many colors For the angry gods to see. And the women all were beautiful And the men stood straight and strong They offered life in sacrifice So that others could go on. Hate was just a legend And war was never known The people worked together And they lifted many stones. They carried them to the flatlands And they died along the way But they built up with their bare hands What we still can’t do today. And I know she’s living there And she loves me to this day I still can’t remember when Or how I lost my way. He came dancing across the water Cortez, cortez What a killer.
  14. yeah rbd, get off the crack and pass the glue!
  15. I was excited at first read, but skimming through the comments, it seems this is not quite ripe--main complaint being that both firefox and foxtorrent are huge RAM sucks; someone else complained it has trouble handling torrents with multiple files. That it runs in the background is a nice feature though--no need to keep the browser open after starting to dl a torrent. Methinks I will continue to use uTorrent, but if they can make this more efficient I would consider trying out.
  16. Danger Bird - Neil Young & Crazy Horse Danger bird, he flies alone And he rides the wind back to his home Although his wings have turned to stone And we used to be so calm Now I think about you all day long 'Cause you've been with another man Here you are and here I am. That's the moment that he cracked long ago in the museum with his friends. The jailbird takes the raps And he finds himself spread-eagled on the tracks But the training that he learned will get him nowhere fast. And I know we should be free But freedom's just a prison to me 'Cause I lied to keep it kind When I left you far behind. With the rain pounding on his back he recalls the moment that he cracked long ago in the museum with his friends. And like those memories the rain keeps pounding down, down, down. And though these wings have turned to stone I can fly fly fly away. Watch me fly above the city Like a shadow on the sky. Fly, fly, fly.
  17. Congrats Nate! and good luck!
  18. Hey (Q) Bear! Good to see you made it over here from FF! Great thread, btw.
