Speaking of Joshua Redman, there is an upcoming concert featuring Joshua Redman (tenor sax), Brad Mehldau (piano), Christian McBride (bass) and Brian Blade (drums). They are going to play a tribute to Monk and Trane's recently discovered/released Carnegie Hall performance of 1957. Friday, May 4 at the Herbst Theatre in San Fransisco CA. Complete program notes here. I would so love to go this show--Redman, McBride, Mehldau are just totally amazing.

Lets see--tomorrow doing a bunch of stuff with the kids--swimming lessons at the Y, then going to celebrate Steven Hopkins 300th birthday (he was one of the two dudes from RI to sign the Declaration of Independence), then after the kids are in bed go see The 300. And getting up early and picking up my 13th year coin from the AA in the AM meeting before all that stuff--my anniversary was this Wednesday past. Sunday, I seem to recall there's a bunch of similar things happening but I can't remember the exact details other than the kids have Indian dance class in the morning. (That's dancing from India, not Native American--have found the w/o the clarification everyone just assumes its the latter)
