A Text messaging woopsie

Lol this is stupid but I had to share it with you guys, I signed up for AIM text messaging on my cell phone. I thought it was just a certain amount per month and we got the bill today, shit was I wrong. Little did i know on the very bottom on Cingular's site it says ".10 a message"

So my mom comes at me with the bill 11 pages long of text messaging running it up 45.00 more dollars.

Has anyone ever gone over 11 pages worth of pages on your phone bill?

I know how you feel. When cell phones first got real popular, I had to have one. Well, they gave me free service for 2 months. So I used this phone like a madman! When the 2 months was up, I still used it the same way. The first bill almost made my heart stop!!

Text messaging spam is fast becoming a problem too.... there are so many premium number scams going on in this country. It's annoying that they can get away with robbing people who are gullible enough to believe they've 'won a major prize'.

oh lord, don't get me started on cellphones. my bills were enormous in NYC but i couldn't give up my phone. (yes i'm a moron).

if you txt a lot from home, use your IM client instead of your phone (it's free).

man...when my sister first got her phone she racked up like seventy dollars worth of texting in the first month...of just texts...she seriously had to text like five hours a day to do that...freakin' insane.

I went 268 minutes over my plan back in December and my bill was 100 dollars more than usual...

There are scams easier to fool for than that. Sometimes they get a bot that rings peoples phone for a split second then hand up. Curious people who ring back to find out who left a "1 missed call" are stung with a nasty phone bill.

that really is nasty.... hadn't heard about that one

There's another where they ring you and get you to press 0 to hear more information about whatever 'opportunity' they're coning you with... which apparently transfers the price of the call to your bill at premium rate.... though this one may only be applicable to a land line.... it's worth being aware of too.
