An ex-security guard at Michael Jackson's estate rocked the star's defence today, claiming he saw the star kissing, fondling and performing oral sex on a young boy in the 1990s.

On cross-examination, Chacon's credibility came under scathing attack.

***

"Did you say you forgot to say things about Mr. Jackson molesting young men in 1993?" asked Mesereau.

"Yes, sir," said the witness.

"And now you remember them in 2005?" Mesereau said.

"Vaguely, yes," Chacon said.

***

Jackson defense attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. quickly established that Chacon had sued Jackson, claiming he was improperly fired, and that Jackson had countersued, accusing Chacon of stealing from him.

The witness acknowledged he was ordered to pay $25,000 for allegedly stealing Jackson's property, which Chacon said was only a candy bar. He also acknowledged that he and others were ordered to pay more than $1 million in legal expenses to Jackson but that he had not paid anything because he had filed for bankruptcy.

The boy Chacon referred to received a multimillion-dollar settlement from Jackson in 1994 and refused to cooperate in a police investigation. No charges were filed against Jackson in that case.

Man Says Jackson Improperly Touched Culkin

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The latest in a parade of former Michael Jacksonemployees to take the stand against their ex-boss testified Friday that he once saw Jackson with his hand inside child star Macaulay Culkin's shorts but didn't tell anyone because "nobody would have ever believed this."

Under cross-examination by Jackson attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr., LeMarque acknowledged that he and his wife considered selling the story to the tabloids and that he told an intermediary he wanted $500,000. But he said he and wife backed out when they realized the intermediary "was so sleazy."

The Prosecution in the Michael Jackson case have not been supported by their own witnessess:

"The DA's come up empty-handed," said Jim Hammer, an analyst at Fox News and a former San Francisco prosecutor. "You shouldn't be surprised by your own witnesses."

For example, Mesereau will trot out all the receipts for the spending she did during her "kidnapping" in Calabasas, Calif., in February 2003.

Yesterday, Arvizo claimed under oath that using Jackson associate Marc Schaffel's credit card, she shopped once for replacement clothes.

But as I wrote in this column on February 10, 2005, the truth is that Arvizo shopped 'til she almost dropped during her Calabasas run.

To wit: On the day they arrived in Calabasas, the Arvizos' "kidnapping" began with dinner at the Outback Steak House ($131).

The next day, Feb. 26, 2003, this welfare mother, who also received food stamps, hit the Banana Republic ($415), Wilson's House of Leather ($127), Pacific Sunwear, The Gap, Jockey, Anchor Blue ($454), Robinsons-May Company, Abercrombie & Fitch, Jeans Outlet ($430) and a Ralph's supermarket ($127 for cosmetics and liquor). The family dined at the tony Black Angus steak restaurant in Woodland Hills ($175).

The next day Arvizo continued to eat her way through Jackson's money at Foot Locker ($85), stopped again at Robinsons-May and made one more trip to Anchor Blue.

On Feb. 28, she had a manicure and pedicure ($51) and she and all three kids also got haircuts.

The next day was March 1, and she hit the Topanga Canyon Mall and Anchor Blue again before taking in a showing of the movie "Old School" (concessions $32, dinner at Johnny Rockets $26). The family also consumed quantities of Baskin-Robbins ice cream that day.

On March 2, she returned to Robinson-May ($71 for "night repair and lipstick"), spent $171 at Champs Sports and grabbed a Starbucks coffee.

By the time the family was returned to Neverland, their "captors" must have been broke and exhausted.

Fox's Roger Friedman Says It's Time to End the Trial

"It's now time to stop the madness and declare a mistrial in California vs. Jackson. What happened on Friday in the Santa Maria courthouse should not have happened at all. Whether or not Michael Jackson is guilty of child molestation is no longer the issue.

The Santa Barbara District Attorney's office is now potentially guilty of exploiting a disturbed woman's condition to get a conviction. It's wrong, and it's not going to achieve anything but tarnishing the reputations of their well-intentioned staff."

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
