Defense goes on counterattack against former maid

Michael Jackson's defense team is on the attack, challenging the former maid who testified Jackson inappropriately touched actor Macaulay Culkin and other boys.

Today another former employee is on the stand, saying the maid stole squirt guns from Jackson's home.

The defense also said the maid cheated three children out of more than $30,000 and once profited by stealing and selling a sketch of Elvis that Jackson had made.

Today's testimony begins the first full week of Jackson's defense.

Culkin is expected to appear as a witness, but there's no word on when.

Jacko's Future: He'll Move to Europe

...With Jackson's trial winding down, every indication is that he will be acquitted, or that the jury will be hung (at least on the issue of child molestation). One thing looks pretty certain: he won't be convicted. There's too much reasonable doubt.

Defense Rests in Michael Jackson Trial

The defense rested Wednesday in the Michael Jackson child molestation trial without putting the pop star on the stand, wrapping up after a three-week effort to portray the accuser and his mother as shakedown artists.

Prosecutors immediately began their rebuttal. The jury could get the case as early as the middle of next week and begin deciding whether Jackson molested a 13-year-old cancer patient at his Neverland ranch in 2003.

During his closing presentation, Zonen showed pictures of Jackson's bedroom and bathroom taken during a raid on Neverland in '03.

Zonen pointed out the location of sex magazines and, at one point, mentioned that you could see a container of Vaseline!

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
