Mr. Glickman, 59, will resign his current position running the Institute of Politics at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government to take over the association in September, ending a search that has taken more than two years. 2. Sharapova and Williams Reach Wimbledon Finals By CHRISTOPHER CLAREY Published: July 1, 2004 Sharapova had her first opportunity today in the semifinals of Wimbledon against former champion Lindsay Davenport, and by the time it ended with a 2-6, 7-6, 6-1 victory, there could no longer be any doubt that Sharapova has the right stuff as well as the right technique.... ...In her first Grand Slam final, the 13th-seeded Sharapova, who represents Russia but has trained primarily in the United States since the age of 8, will face Serena Williams, the No. 1 seeded player and defending champion. Like Sharapova, Williams had to overcome a compromising situation today, pumping her fists, arching her back and howling at the often overcast sky and digging deep into her emotional reserves before defeating Amelie Mauresmo of France, 6-7 (4-7), 7-5, 6-4... 3. As I sadi in the other thread, John McLaughlin is a pretty amazing guitarist...on a given day, he could spin circles around most... i wonder where john cippolina of quicksilver could have done if he had stuck with it
  4. I agree--the studio version is much better...
  5. And then there are the jazz/rock guitarists... Pat Matheney, John McGlauglin..these guys are no slouches..
  6. Its ok, Ken...apparently you dont flaunt it
  7. Hendrix played the guitar with his teeth!
  8. I liked the song, and the musicianship, but dont really care for his voice at first...but its growing on me as I listen to more. Prety nice tune.
  9. The drum, of course - its easier to connect
  10. Some of the people on that OTHER list ...should be on this one

  17. I liked the build in Alien Invasion and How Low Can You Go. Curious as to what melodic lines you plan to build over that... ** I love the bass in this tune, which Ive been playing lately. http://www.patrickohearn.com/music/facing_the_sun.mp3 Whatdoyathink?
  18. 26%--that's still 3 percent too close to Jippers
  19. Yep, Jeff Beck is another must be on the list
  20. I also like this guy Henry Frayne from Lanterna - this guy is mostly a rhythm guitarist, but the sounds he gets out of that thing are extraordinary. I would probably add Dave Navarro to your addition...James Iha of The Smashing Pumpkins... We should probably start a 90s/2000s guitarist thread..
  21. Off the top of my head, I like Jack White and Johnny Lang...but Im sure there are a couple other virutosos I missed. It seems to me that the 90s was more about the total group sound than individuals, as opposed to say the 60s and 70s... I might look at it differently if I was you, cause you know more about today's bands than i probably do
