  1. Flipp Dinero has everything he needs to secure a major year ahead. The New York native has been steadily grinding over the years which ultimately resulted in a deal with DJ Khaled's We The Best in partnership with Cinematic Music Group. While there's a good chance we'll hear him deliver something for Khaled's Father Of Asahd, we're hoping he blesses us with his own project. Over the past few months, he's delivered a few new singles and today, he drops off two new tracks that are both produced by Tay Keith. Flipp Dinero is showing all sides of his artistry today with the release of his singles, "If I Tell You" and "Not Too Many." The former is a more soothing and chilled out track while the latter is more fitting for the streets. "If I Tell You" finds Dinero showing off his melodies over guitar-based production. Peep "If I Tell You" below. Quotable Lyrics I don't really trust nobody else My feelings are for you I swear it's for nobody else I'm grinding till the sun up While I stack up all my wealth View the full article
  2. Chicago has really come through today with some strong contributions. The city has been represented well in the form of Pivot Gang's debut album and SoloSam's brand new EP. On top of that, we've got a brand new Valee single. SoloSam may still be relatively unknown to many outside of his hometown but he's making a strong case as the most tenacious newcomer on his new project. Releasing a duo of new songs, we've decided to shine the spotlight on "High Tonight." The second track on Sam's new EP is ready for your house party. The young rapper was able to create a song that's both smooth and hype at the same time. It's lyrical and melodic. SoloSam could very well be the future of Chicago rap. Keep your eyes peeled on this up-and-comer and check out his new EP here. 3. Flipp Dinero is gearing up to have a major year ahead of him. He's already been aligning himself with some of the biggest names in hip-hop. "Leave Me Alone" helped put a spotlight on his name and gain the attention of the Kardashians, Travis Scott, OBJ, and DJ Khaled who signed the rapper to We The Best Music in a partnership deal with Cinematic Music Group. Drake even credited as an inspiration for Scorpion. Now, the rapper returns with not one, but two new songs. Both produced by one of the hottest producers in the game, Tay Keith. Flipp Dinero released two new songs today including "Not Too Many." This track is a hard-hitting banger in comparison to "If I Tell You" which is the other song he dropped. Tay Keith delivers gritty production while Dinero uses his melodic flow to bounce over the beat. Quotable Lyrics Niggas they flip with you, you know you're next How you go platinum but still totin' straps? 4. In the comment section of a TBT 50 cent posted on Instagram yesterday, LeBron James chimed in to demand the re-release of 50 Cent's Power of the Dollar. G-Unit historians often point to the importance of the record, in light of the fact it sparked 50 Cent's career, and the adversarial persona he took on for year's to come. Theo Wargo/Getty Images "Re release 'Power of A Dollar"! Straight flames!!!!" LeBron wrote in the comments. The Lakers' forward is widely known to be wise beyond his years when it comes to his knowledge of Y2K-era rap. James was born in Akron in the year 1984, placing him in the confines of a Kindergarten classroom the year 50 Cent dropped the all-important mixtape. And yet, when LeBron looks into the lens, all he can think of is a currency exchange in the year 2000 or the scolding manner that Jay-Z once asked, "I’m about the dollar, what the fuck is 50 cent?" 50 Cent did eventually drop down in response, amazed by the millennial baller's far-reaching knowledge. "@kingjames Damn boy you real be knowing this music shit for real," 50 responded in astonishment. Power of the Dollar features notable contributions from Destiny's Child, Noreaga, and Bun B. It hasn't been re-released to the masses since it became a hot commodity in the streets, during the bootleg era. [Via] View the full article

  6. Tee Grizzley is fresh off of the release of his latest single, "God's Warrior" which arrived yesterday. Timbaland held down the production on the track but it looks like it's not just a one-off collaboration. Tee Grizzley announced that his next project will be produced entirely by Timbo. Tee Grizzley recently sat down with Zane Lowe on Beats1 Radio where he discussed his latest single and his upcoming project before Timbaland FaceTimed in on the conversation. Tee Grizzley announced that he and Timbaland are dropping a joint project together and explained how Kanye West was a catalyst in making it happen. Joe Scarnici/Getty Images "Kanye wanted me to come to the studio," Grizzley said. "He wanted to hear some of my new stuff, and for me to come hear his new stuff. It was my first time meeting him. It was crazy. My objective in the room was don’t say nothing, just listen. If somebody talk to you that’s the only time you can talk. So I’m just sitting back and everybody’s just vibing, kicking it. I play him some new stuff and they start going crazy." Grizzley continued to detail the studio session with Kanye, explaining how the "Yikes" rapper told Timbo and Tee that they needed to work on a whole project together. "The focus shifted from them doing something to 'we need to do a whole tape. You and Timbaland need to do a whole tape.' Ye said you and Timbaland need to do a whole tape," Grizzley said. 7. SoloSam is one of Chicago's hidden talents. We know Chi-Town as a city where superstars are bred. You think of people like Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, and so many others. Could SoloSam be the next to join a list of such illustrious artists? At the rate he's been working, the young rapper is on pace to be the next to blow up out of his city. While he's still relatively underground, Sam has impressed with each of his efforts so far. Last year, he released his ITIS EP, which featured the stand-out "Breezin & Coolin," and he followed that up at the beginning of 2019 with "Highly Favored." Now, he's returning confidently with "Safe Keeping." The rising talent decided to treat his fans on Good Friday, dropping off a duo of new songs and packaging them as an EP. SoloSam's "High Tonight" and "Can't Take It" are officially out now for your consumption. Let us know what you think in the comments! Tracklist: 1. Can't Take It 2. High Tonight View the full article

  10. Kanye West's celebrity outreach knows no limits. Unless we're given access through social media, the general public remains on the outside-looking-in. Privacy is the last tenet our Society, let alone the pencil-pushers, have any say over. When Kanye gives us access to his private dealings if comes into effect like a slalom. When Ye deprives his fans of that access, they lash out like they've been starved of attention. In the case of David Blaine doing a private performance for Kanye West during the "Christian Dior Denim Flow" era, the general public was asked to wait a whole decade to gain the slightest bit of insight as to what was going on behind the scenes at GOOD HQ. According to a retrospective piece published by Briana Younger, David Blaine was taking part in one of the many "GOOD Friday" gatherings when the illusionist decided upon himself to perform "wild magic" to the astonishment of the intimate crowd. "There was a studio session where they were recording 'Christian Dior Denim Flow' and Chris Rock was in there and so was David Blaine and he was doing all types of wild magic," Pusha-T's longtime manager Steven Victor relayed to Briana Younger. "That shit was crazy, he was bending quarters and splitting hundred dollar bills in half. Kanye was making a beat and David Blaine was doing fucking tricks." Kanye West famously commissioned private performances by Kenny G and Lana Del Rey as a serenade to his wife Kim Kardashian. On at least one of those occasions, Kanye West made the arrangement just to even a marital score, and not because of a formality like St. Valentines, etc. Check out the other incredulous anecdotes highlighted by Younger in her piece at the link provided below the write-up. 11. This week, Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown reunited on record for a track off Breezy's upcoming album Indigo. We've now heard a trio of songs that are expected to make the tracklist, which means that Chris could be gearing up to take us all for a ride pretty soon. The release date for Indigo has not yet been announced but you've got to believe it's on the way. Perhaps, by the time he goes on tour with Nicki Minaj in the fall, we'll all be singing along to a new batch of his songs. Scott Legato/Getty Images You read that right, folks. According to Variety, Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj will be heading on tour together later this year. The two just linked up with G-Eazy on "Wobble Up" and they may have more planned because, while an exact schedule has not yet been shared, one tour date in New Jersey popped up for September 13 at the Prudential Center. It's currently unclear whether the two will be co-headlining or if Minaj is a support act for Brown. The way it's being listed on the Prudential website makes it seem like the latter is more likely, but we wouldn't expect Nicki Minaj to be okay with taking second billing. After all, they've both enjoyed long, successful careers. This news comes just a day after Nicki decided to part ways with her longtime managers, entering a new stage in her professional career. Will you be shelling out some cash to witness both of these tremendous artists on tour? Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic/Getty Images View the full article

  13. Frank Ocean's new wave of being open with his fans, joining Instagram and doing more interviews is everything and more we could have asked for from the Blonde music maker. The latest feature had by the singer sees him raising his right hand high on the cover of GAYLETTER, opening up about writing music, his life in New York and as we posted, his previous complicated label situation. Another tidbit of information we think is worth noting is a part of the interview where Frank reveals that he's been in a relationship for a while now. The publication asked the "Nikes" singer what it's like to date, considering his fame, and if he dabbles in dating any apps. "I don’t use dating apps. I’ve been in a relationship for three years," Frank responded. "I definitely wasn’t using dating apps before then. I don’t think I would use dating apps now. I fuck with Marc Jacobs’ philosophy on that, so I wouldn’t rule it out, but it is a little hectic being a famous person on dating apps." As for who's the lucky person Frank calls his partner? We don't have the tea on that but Godspeed to him and his love. View the full article
  14. It's essentially Christmas for the Beyhive. Earlier this week, Netflix released Homecoming, a behind-the-scenes documentary into Beyonce's historic Beychella set. Netflix is a lot more accessible than other streaming platforms but considering Beyonce's relationship with HBO over the years, many wondered why they weren't the go-to platform to air Homecoming. According to Vulture, Netflix had a bigger bag for Beyonce. Beyonce has worked with HBO on numerous occasions in the past. The company aired Lemonade, as well as 2013 documentary Life Is But a Dream and the On the Run concert special. HBO was reportedly speaking to Beyonce about securing the rights to Homecoming but Netflix swooped in at the last minute. Apparently, Netflix offered big money for the doc and HBO couldn't justify a counter-offer. However, it's still unknown how much Netflix actually dropped for Homecoming. Netflix has previously used this approach to secure other types of music and comedy specials from some of the biggest names in entertainment. The streaming giant reportedly dropped over $20M on Springsteen On Broadway and $60M for Dave Chappelle's comedy special. In other Beyonce-related news, the singer isn't done blessing her fans just yet. With the three year anniversary of Lemonade coming up next week, reports claim that for the first time ever, the whole album will be available on all streaming platforms next week. 15. LaMelo Ball is sporting some new ink these days - a massive chest tattoo that spans from shoulder-to-shoulder. LaMelo, who previously had "Fear" and "God" tatted on his wrists, got his latest tattoo from Herschell Carrasco (@rockrollg), the same dude who covered up Lonzo's BBB logo with a pair of dice, and inked some tiger eyes on LiAngelo's bicep. As seen in the photo posted by @rockrollg, LaMelo's latest tattoo includes his jersey number, 1, along with some wings, a halo and a few stars for good measure. LaMelo, 17, will be heading to either Australia or China to play basketball next season because he definitely won't be eligible to play in college. At the "Big Baller Brand All-American Game" a few weeks back, LaVar Ball explained (H/T USA Today): “I’m going to let you know the plan now, so everyone can just stop. In college, I already knew what they were about to do. ‘We’re going to investigate, we’re not going to let him play until we let him play, LaVar. We’re not going to let you do all that big-mouth talking and then we’re going to hold him back and a whole year go by.’ The G League: I’m not going to let no 28, 29-year-old dudes tee off on him. And try to make a name for himself, so he’s definitely going overseas … Either Australia or China. One of the two.” View the full article
  16. Right before he hit the slammer in the state of Texas, 03 Greedo recorded a slew of recordings under the supervision of DJ Mustard - of which "Wasted" with YG and "Trap House" featuring Shoreline Mafia figured among the preliminary teasers. The project's announcement (a month ago) came as a surprise to those who weren't privy to the particulars, details Greedo elucidated in an LA Leakers interview before surrendering to authorities. It was inevitably DJ Mustard revealed their plans in March in a conversation with Rolling Stone. "I got so much music by myself. I do like 15 songs a night, but I mean, certain times I’ll be doing special projects with certain people, so it’ll be a little slower ‘cause I work kinda too fast," Greedo told the LA Leakers co-hosts. “But when you got a type of stuff I got on my mind, you just gotta get it out or else I’ma be in the streets getting my anger out in a different way." In the end, the projected 15-song tracklist was whittled down to a more digestible 11 songs in length. Still Summer in the Projects is available in all the usual places. Thanks to his careful prodding, 03 Greedo stands to reap from the proceeds even though he remains incarcerated for the foreseeable future. Still Summer in the Projects 1. 10 Purple Summers 2. 17. Deyjah Harris will soon be turning eighteen years old, which is a pretty big deal. If she decides to visit Canada, she'll be able to legally drink in most cities. She can also enjoy much more freedom than before because her parents are no longer responsible for her at this point. That's not saying that Tiny and T.I. will completely let her out of the nest, though. Watching their reality show, you can see that the family is extremely close-knit so something tells us she'll still be spending a lot of time at the Harris home. Ahead of her eighteenth birthday, Deyjah wanted to send a message to any men that think she's fair game now, issuing a PSA on her Instagram story. "I just wanna quickly say that just because I'm turning 18 in June, that doesn't mean..." wrote the social media star before listing off a couple of things. "1. That y'all will even get the chance lmaoooooo. 2. More importantly, that still don't make it right for you grown ass men to try and get at me.. eighTEEN. I will still be A TEENAGER!!!! If you're not ok with someone your age tryna get with your daughter, sister, niece, etc. then don't think it's ok with me." Something tells us that her parents will absolutely co-sign this message. T.I. previously defended his 17-year-old daughter after somebody criticized her looks online. Read through the PSA below. View the full article
  18. DJ Khaled's anticipated 2019 Days Of Summer Cruise Fest has been in the works for some time now since Post Malone and Cardi B were the first headliners announced back in February. Steven Ferdman/Getty Images City Girls, DaBaby, Soulja Boy, Def Loaf, Lil Nas X, Pardison Fontaine, Murda Beatz, Kent Jones, Tay Money and Tyla Yaweh will all be joining DJ Khaled, Post Maone and of course Cardi B for one of the biggest boat parties the open sea has ever seen. 20. It's only right that a G.O.O.D Music artist comes through with some new music on Good Friday. If Kanye West isn't going to continue his tradition of dropping loosies at the end of every week, we're fine with fresh vibes from Valee. The Chicago rapper is one of the most influential figures in modern hip-hop history. His flows have been imitated by many but nobody is able to make them sound as smooth as he is. After teasing his new single for much of this week, Valee has officially returned with "You & Me Both." Produced by ChaseTheMoney, this is a whole vibe. The song is minimalistic in its structure with Valee choosing not to overthink the process. He stunts about copping new whips and designer goods for himself and his partner. The song starts out slow but near the end, he quickens the pace, unleashing a couple of memorable bars in the process. How are you feeling about Valee's new track? Quotable Lyrics: I got yellow bone bad, I might buy exotic fur coat I got jeans fadin' fast and that's for you and me both I got Louis plaid and you know it's not yet in the stores I got certain tags that's still in my closet on the floor I still do got checks, haven't been deposited before I got ice on neck, n***a, avalanche, eskimo View the full article
  21. Injury Reserve arrived on the scene with high expectations I initially felt they would never measure up to. In reality, Ritchie With a T and Stepa J. Groggs were only guilty of broaching a subject I personally never took a liking to: the current Zeitgeist and consumer culture. After re-listening to efforts like "Campfire" and the Rico Nasty-assisted "Jailbreak," I began to understand the faith bestowed upon them by Aminé in particular. It doesn't hurt that Injury Reserve are batting 1.00 when it comes to the juxtaposition created by their flashy visuals. On their latest single "Koruna & Lime," Ritchie, Stepa and their in-house producer Parker Corey re-position themselves as interdisciplinary artists. The premise for the video is simple yet effective. The performers take turns being carted around on a pully while they deliver their vocal parts. The drop of "Koruna & Lime" coincides with another major revelation, the group made yesterday on their joint Twitter account. Injury Reserve's debut LP will see light as of May 17th. The Loma Vista release is the first full-body project from the group since they debuted their Drive it Like it’s Stolen EP in 2017. Keep it locked for more. 23. Having been around some of the greats and enjoying a legendary career himself, Snoop Dogg has tons of memories to share with his fans on a regular basis. He can probably post one photo every day for several years and we wouldn't get bored. The Doggfather has spent time with some of the absolute legends in hip-hop and every Throwback Thursday, you can bet that we'll be getting a new moment from Uncle Snoop. Last week, he came through with a photo from a 1991 studio session with Dr. Dre while they were making The Chronic. Today, he's dropping another gem with his good ol' buddy Tupac Shakur. Snoop went back to his days with the long hair, posing behind Tupac, who proudly threw up his sign. The rapper rocked a fedora on his head, looking snazzy in a formal suit and dripping with gold on his fingers. Snoop looks smug in the back, clearly enjoying the night and peering over Pac's shoulder. "Look over your shoulder you’ll find me," wrote the artist as his caption.
