  1. A$AP Rocky's "Sundress" was a breath of fresh air the moment it debuted in November, nearly 20 days after it had as an unsanctioned demo reel. Even hardened hip-hoppers were forced to lean back, at the thought of A$AP Rocky picking daffodils to the sound of a Brit Pop drum section. leaving no zero of Yam's sketch-up in passing. Kevin Winter/Getty Images But rest assured, A$AP Rocky's expanded musical horizons are a welcome addition in the greater sense of hip-hop. Part of the credit "Sundress" indubitably goes to his collaborators Tame Impala, whose influence is hard to mistake, if you're familiar with their solo material. For what it's worth, "Sundress" was one of two songs that Rocky previewed during last year's Camp Flog Gnaw with Tyler the Creator - the other being the unpublished "Shittin Me." With Tame Impala booked to perform at week two of Coachella last night, the opportunity for Rocky to join them onstage was there for the taking and he did just that. They performed "Sundress" in unison, while also repackaging A$AP Rocky's "LDS" with the backing of the band's live instrumentation. Thanks to the vigilance of the Coachella crowd, numerous videos were recorded, documenting the whole affair in a series of amateur postings. See for yourself. View the full article
  2. Easter should be a day of celebration. The Christian holiday is celebrated worldwide. The Easter holiday has brought with it a terrible massacre this year though. According to BBC, eight bombs placed in hotels and churches across Sri Lanka killed over 200 people and injured another 400. The attacks took place in and around Colombo. The first attack allegedly took place at Colombo's St Anthony's Shrine Catholic church. The second bombing occurred at the St. Sebastian's church north of the capital. A church in Batticaloa was attacked next, then, three hotels in Colombo were bombed. The attacks continued throughout the area surrounding Colombo. An estimated 450 people were harmed, and 207 people are confirmed dead, including 27 tourists visiting the country. The US state department said "several" American citizens had been killed. Those numbers are only preliminary, and officials expect that number to rise as the day continues. Investigators believe terrorists were targeting Christians, but no terrorist organization has taken responsibility for the attacks. There already have been several arrests in connection to the bombings. Defence Minister Ruwan Wijewardene told the media not to publish any names connected to the attacks, saying that it could lead to unnecessary tension. We will continue to follow up with this story as it unfolds. View the full article
  3. For almost every hot-right-now rapper deep into the trap scene, rolling up to the scene drippin' while flexing the latest fashions and jewelry is nearly as important as spitting fire on wax. With artists like Migos, Cardi B and 21 Savage all dropping chart-topping projects that popularize the term, arguably no other rapper in the game embodies the true sentiment of what it means to be drippin' better than Yung Gunna. So confident is this ATL-bred rapper in his style, his swag, and his drip, he doesn't care if you give him the credit that he's due for popularizing the term. With his discography existing as an evergreen testament to the lifestyle, (Drip Season, Drip Season 2, Drip Season 3, and Drip Harder, to name a few) you don't have to give Gunna props for his contribution to the mainstream - you just have to respect his drip. "I think it's always been in my life," said Gunna, waxing lyrical about his drip. "I always like to dress up, you know what I'm saying? Put on nice, expensive clothes. But before it was even "drip," I used to be like, "swag." That's what we used to call it back then. It's just a lifestyle," he continued. "Even artists who make songs now with "drip," they'll hit me up like, "Oh, I got a song for you, it's gonna say something about 'drip.'" So they just putting me to the word anyway, just because I came with Drip Season." Check out the Instagram gallery below to check out all of Gunna's drippiest social media uploads. Happy "Living life bro I’m happy on god!" captioned Gunna alongside a pic of him fanning some serious cash while covered head to toe in designer duds. With a fit like that, who wouldn't be happy? Flashin' Stacks There's so much color in this picture, you almost need shades. Frosty You can almost feel the chill from Gunna's ice in this picture. Cash War Leave it to Gunna to pair a neon belt chain with a Louis Vuitton billfold. Paris Sorry Yeezy and Jay-Z but according to Gunna, it's "Drippers in Paris!!" now. Shine "I’ll prolly have the Baddest Bitch N the Game Wearing my Chain ," captioned Gunna alongside a short video showcasing the incredible shine on his new ice. 4. Pivot Gang blessed the world with their debut this past week. Entitled You Can't Sit With Us, the compilation tape features appearances by Smino, Mick Jenkins, Kari Faux, Smino, Femdot, Jean Deaux, Sylvan Lacue and many others. Although the album is packed with jams, "Bad Boys" featuring Smino is a standout effort. The St. Louis rapper may be the most popular on the record, and "Bad Boys" is a banger that works best in the car or in the club. Joseph Chillams, Saba, and MFnMelo, take control of the verses, while Smino lays down the hook. A boisterous bass permeates the instrumental, giving the daedaePivot produced banger an immediate club feel. The bass will rattle your teeth, and the chorus is a little much at times, but the verses ride. Pivot Gang has the ability to make this a Summer single, and we'll be riding with "Bad Boys" for the next few months ourselves. 5. As you'll recall, Laura Ingraham mocked Nipsey Hussle in the moments after his death, after incorrectly sourcing YG's part on "FDT" in a defense tirade of Donald Trump's "spotless record in office." This is the same Fox News pundit who insisted that LeBron James "shut up and dribble" because she didn't agree with the way he'd gone about politicizing his free speech. As a result of the remarks she made against Nipsey Hussle, a whole slew of public figures once again called for her head. Justin Bieber called for her termination, as did The Game by speaking on behalf of the greater "we" representing his LA constituents/hip-hoppers. Tory Lanez' response on the matter elicited pejorative language. To put it bluntly, no one on this side of the ledger stands for any of Ingraham's unlearned talking points. Although DJ Quik is one hundred percent in agreement with the other outspoken members of the hip-hop community, he thinks Laure Ingraham should hold onto her job for one particular reason. In speaking with TMZ in his backyard of Los Angeles, DJ Quik told the field reporter that Ingraham ought to "eat crow" for a couple of weeks instead of losing her job with immediate effect. The reason being: the mass media has the memory of a fish, so it might be best to let her stew in the consequences a little longer until they become etched into our collective consciousness. Makes sense don't it? Quik alluded to another major networking whose actions were quickly swept under the rug after being fired over controversial blackface remarks. "Don't fire her like they did ole girl from NBC," Quik said in reference to Megyn Kelly, who famously came away with a $30 million settlement package after Fox News forced her exit without taking the proper legal steps. 6. The Internet's dormant pockets of resistance have been wakened by the unexpected release of Young Nudy's new 12-track project. To be honest, no one knew anything about his current plight. He was grouped into that messy ICE scandal with his cousin 21 Savage, who as you may noticed hogged most of the attention - allowing Nudy to slide right back into position. But in truth, Nudy peeled away just like his cousin. And yet, the Slaughter Gang's fanbase finds itself at the crossroads of disassembling the "Free Nudy" apparatus, but why bother... let's reinvoke it with new meaning instead. Nudy's cult persona could use a push in the right direction, so much as he's earned it himself "Keep It 100" is a good place to begin our appreciation of Nudyn and his understated quality. The 11th track on the project boasts every single trait worth championing: Nudy's nasal voice, unflinching detail, entropy, and on the opposite end of the scale, complete emotional indifference when it matters most. See for yourself on Faded in the Booth. Quotable Lyrics: Hold that m*therf*cker til I can't squeeze You know I got two "3"/23s Shoot that m*therf*cker til I can't breathe And I cant get no sleep. 7. According to TMZ, Kodak Black's recent US-Canada border issues could produce dire repercussions close to home in South Carolina. Last week, Kodak claimed he took a wrong turn at the border crossing due to the incomprehensible effects of a GPS navigator; he was reported missing by his entourage soon thereafter. The "Florida Man" was travelling to meet the requirements of a Boston concert booking when it all went down. Authorities were obliged to make his arrest after finding contraband in his Cadillac Escalade. Nicholas Hunt/Getty Images As it turns out, the Florence County Solicitor’s Office caught wind of Kodak's ill-conceived border crossing and wants a piece of the action too. Officials in the principality are reviewing their preexisting dossier on Kodak to see if he violated a bond agreement that was made in April 2017 over a lingering sexual misconduct case in the SouthEast state. As you know, Kodak Black was indicted back in April of 2017 after being accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in a South Carolina hotel. Within days, Kodak Black secured a $100,000 bond allowing him to avoid any further imprisonment/punishment up to this critical juncture. Kodak's arrest close to the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge has no correlation with his actions in South Carolina. It does however set of bells in the National Registry - better left untouched by an individual with such a spotty rap sheet. [Via] View the full article
  8. Believe it or not, James Harden claims he didn't his 0-15 shooting to the start last night's Game 3 contest. His early struggles marked a career-low up to that point. Never before had Harden missed so many consecutive shots at any point in his career - and yet, "The Beard" inevitably rose to prominence when it counted most, scoring 14 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter to power the Houston Rockets to a 104-101 margin of victory over the Utah Jazz - and a commanding 3-0 series lead. Gene Sweeney/Getty Images "Keep shooting, keep being aggressive," Harden told the press after a reporter brought up his head-scratching totals. "0-of-15, 14-of-15, 15-of-15, my job is to go out there and produce and be aggressive and in attack mode. Nothing changes." Beyond registering as a personal low, Harden's 0-15 shooting also goes down the most consecutive playoff misses in over 20 year's of NBA basketball. Put this in perspective, the Rockets guard didn't score a single basket until 7:34 remained on the clock in the 4th quarter - when a fastbreak dunk marked the beginning of a manic spree to the end the game. From there, it was all step backs and daggers, and there was little the Utah Jazz could do to prevent it from happening, given how close the scoreline going into the 4th. Game 4 takes place in Utah with a 10:30 pm ET start time. Hedge your bets! [Via] View the full article
  9. As if the anticipation already building around the final season of Game Of Thrones wasn't enough, HBO and Columbia Record's stacked lineup for the official For The Throne soundtrack has sent fans into a frenzy with the likes of A$AP Rocky, Joey Bada$$, and Chloe x Halle set to make appearances. One of the most anticipated outputs, however, arrives in the form of "Power Is Power," featuring The Weeknd, SZA, and Travis Scott. The track officially arrived on Thursday and now, SZA and Trav have taken to social media to preview what looks to be the accompanying visuals for the song. Notably, Travis took to Instagram to post up in Game Of Thrones-inspired garb, delivering on a very on-theme caption: "House of Flame, Son of lord Jacques B Webster the 1st, Husband of the Goddess K , Protector of the Seven Kingdoms, Blatt." While our guy did forget to wedge Stormi in there somewhere, Kylie, or Goddess K, took a liking to post, commenting underneath with her allegiance. “Protect my realm," she wrote. "Oh lord Webster!” Equally, SZA took to her Instagram stories to share a video of herself in a dressing room, with thematic headwear that underscores Travis Scott's own uploads. The arrival of the video will likely be soon as For The Throne is attached to a slated arrival of April 26th. View the full article
  10. While he's become a familiar face through his role in Starz's Power series, Rotimi is shifting the focus back into his music and with that new focus, the Nigerian-American actor and singer has returned with an Afrobeats-inspired track "Love Riddim." The new effort is smoldering and infectious cut that also marks the beginning of a new partnership between Rotimi and EMPIRE following his departure from 50 Cent's G-Unit imprint. "I wanted to sign to EMPIRE because I didn't believe in an artist under a label," Rotimi tells Billboard. "I wanted to do a partnership. I wanted to have creative freedom. I wanted to have conversations in a room where we collaborate on things and not go to a major because that system is old and I feel like this is a new wave where artists can express themselves and then they have a machine truly backing them. I wanted that. I wanted that for myself." Listen to "Love Riddim" below. Quotable Lyrics Nobody knows I just keep it in my head I don't say too much I'm just here to touch View the full article
  11. Ice T recently announced that his metal band Body Count would be making a return, sending out a clip teasing the follow-up album to 2017's Bloodlust. “Headed back to the Studio today,” Ice penned in a caption. “New BodyCount album in progress. First two songs locked. Hard as F!! We’re going in. #Carnivore @BodyCountBand.” HipHopDXreports that the title of the new project has been confirmed to be "Carnivore." Body Count first appeared in 1990, a venture between Ice T and guitarist Ernie C at the time. Since its inception, the group has become pretty well-versed in ruffling feathers. Notably, stirring controversy with their "Cop Killer" track, prompting responses from the likes of President George H.W. Bush at the time. The heavy metal band made significant waves with Bloodlust with a politically-charged track such as "No Lives Matter" and "Black Hoodie," tackling race relations and police brutality. “Give me a fucking break," Ice famously uttered at the beginning of the video for the latter. "I’ve been talking about this shit for over 20 years. And now you can kill a motherfucker just because of how he’s dressed. Are you fucking serious?” The track earned the band a nomination for Best Metal Performance at the 60th Annual Grammys, losing out to Mastodon’s “Sultan’s Curse.” View the full article
  12. Dutch-born songstress Nicole Bus has been making waves with her breakout "You" track, delivering a remix to the track with Rick Ross. It appears that the remix was not the only update offered of the track as Bus and now recruits Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah who lends two verses to the song. The collaboration is all too fitting as "Bus" originally samples The Charmel's "As Long As I Got You," the base of Wu-Tang Clan's "C.R.E.A.M." track. Bus, a Roc Nation signee, is certainly off to the races with this one and will be capitalizing on her momentum this summer as she joins the likes of Cardi B, Teyana Taylor and the City girls on the upcoming Femme It Forward tour in May before hitting the Summer Jam stage in June. Until then get into the newest version of "You." Quotable Lyrics Only you can get me right babe And I love the way you love me Like Kanye loves Kanye So sexy what can I say? View the full article
  13. In Weekend 2 of his Coachella debut, Murda Beatz kept the surprises coming as he brought out DMX for delivery of the legend's "Ruff Ryder's Anthem." Throughout the week, the Canadian producer teased that he had something up his sleeve but after such a stellar showing last weekend, there was no telling what direction he'd take things this time. During Weekend 1, he brought out A$AP Ferg and Rich The kids to the crowd's delight, a decision he says was made at the last minute. "It’s kind of a spur of the moment thing. ASAP Ferg, he’s the fucking festival God, I was just like 'Yo I’m at Coachella, I need to bring out ASAP Ferg!'" he told Variety. "Me and him have a relationship already, we’ve never made any music together but been in the studio a bunch of times. I hit him up and he was down. Shout out Rich the Kid, that’s my dog. Been my brother for seven years. I met him with the Migos a long time ago." On Sunday (Apruil 21st), DMX is scheduled to hit the stage again alongside Kanye West in the Coachella edition of his Sunday Service. Lauryn Hill is expected to make an appearance as well. 15. It's been quite a season for Jacob Banks. As he runs through an itinerary that includes Moscow, Milan, and Lisbon, Banks has taken the time to deliver on a new single with "Every Age." The new track finds the genre-bending talents of Jacob Banks as he floats over a piano-driven backdrop, creating a heavy track that seems to be in line with the coming Earth Day (April 22nd) as Banks declares, "Take your time, build a home/Build a place where we all can belong." 16. While performing a show in Houston, NBA YougnBoy faced the consequences of being too close for comfort with fans when his ring was allegedly stolen in the midst of the show. Friday night (April 19), the Baton Rouge rapper hit the Ayva Center in the southern city and new footage has surfaced of him onstage, demanding that his $10,000 piece of jewelry be returned to him. In the clip, YoungBoy delivers on that signature stare of his as attempts to get the culprit to cough up the ring. "Stop moving," he says. "One of these little bitches right here got my, aye, they got my ring, Montana. Get my ring." After nothing happens, he begins to yell toward a particular section. "Stop all that fucking moving. If you right here stop moving. I ain't playing." Toward the end, it appears all hope is lost for the ring and NBA YoungBoy calms the crowd down after such an intense moment. "You trying to provoke me. I'm a million-dollar nigga. That's a $10,000 ring," he says to the crowd. "Like I said, I'm here for y'all. It's good. I ain't even tripping. It ain't gotta be all that." Given NBA YoungBoy's propensity to get more violent when faced with the idea of having his belongings stolen, he handled this one relatively well. View the full article

  18. When Pardison Fontaine shared his two "Rodman" and "Madden Flow" tracks, he showcased two different narratives as he effectively made the vacillated between the story of his come up and the need to keep his focused while reflecting on unpolished background, staying close to his truest self. Now, he returns with some new music videos to accompany the track in the clip that comes attached to "Rodman," a nod toward Dennis Rodman," Pardi keeps things gutter as she sports a bright orange ski mask while toting enough firearms to send his message as he growls, "Y'all niggas livin' in luxury/Where I'm from, living's a luxury /Niggas been shootin' all summer long/You would think this is the summer league." 19. At the top of March, Pardison Fontaine dropped off a duo of songs with his "Rodman" and "Madden Flow," and this week he returns with a set of new visuals for both. On the latter, Pardison takes his place atop a stool against a dynamic background to deliver on the more pensive of the tracks. Co-directed by Michael Ho and Pardison, the new clip's backdrop shifts with extensive special effects, intensifying with each new bar as he rips: "Never been an exit, where the fuck them niggas get off?/I am the original, the sequel and the spin off/How the fuck y'all gon' flex on me with some shit that I lent y'all?" 20. After a year and some months, Leven Kali has finally satiated the asses with a new video for his Syd-assisted "Do U Wrong" track. The soothing and upbeat cut gets a visual treatment that finds the duo cruising southern California as they reminisce on past transgressions with their other halves, a pair that includes model burgeoning video muse Widny Bazile. The new video precedes Leven's forthcoming Low Tide project, set to arrive on May 10th, the first of a duo of releases. "In 2017 I left school and ended up signing a record deal off of a demo tape made in my mom's garage," Kali said recently, reflecting on the new project. 21. When 03 Greedo bragged about being the only "street character" with a Lil Uzi Vert feature to his credit, he wasn't lying. Soon enough he'll have to alter that statement to reflect a more pioneering stance - the distinction is important because Chief Keef is now seconding the very same notion with an Uzi feature to call his own. Two hours ago, Love Sosa jumped on Instagram to debut a snippet of the collaborative song he's labeled "Mooliani," in the image of the ancients depicted on the money stacks he keeps on hand. Manny Carabel/Getty Images As you can see, the Instagram post depicts a two-face rendering of Lil Uzi Vert and Chief Keef split up by a skeletal demon that lies inside their heads. The graphic then turns to reveal a devilish Sun emoji enjoying a cup of lean. As the song snippet runs its course, the dual-uzis firing off in symbolic order like "anyone can get it." After running a check, it's come to my attention that "Mooliani" could very well be the song the pair debuted during a Philly concert in December. Based on the teasing elements at our disposal, "Mooliani" looks as though it's gone to be a chaotic affair. At a spectator's glance, Chief Keef still embodies the unhinged characteristics endearing him to the rap audiences in the first place - even though he lacks the critical support of fellow graduates of the Drill movement, namely Lil Durk. Love Sosa isn't necessarily in need of a comeback, like say Soulja Boy - but if he wanted to embark on the comeback trail, "Mooliani" seems like it would be a good place to start. 23. The Philadephia 76ers are facing the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the NBA playoffs, and the series has proven to be very entertaining. The underdog Nets pulled out one win against the heavily favored 76ers already. At the time of this article being published, the score between the two teams is separated by one point with about 8 minutes left in the fourth quarter. The 76ers are currently up by one game. As reported by ESPN, Jimmy Butler and Jared Dudley were both ejected from Game 4 of the series after Dudley shoved Joel Embiid and players from both teams had to be separated by officials. Dudley charged at Embiid with 7:42 remaining in the third quarter and Brooklyn leading 67-61. The incident occurred after Jarrett Allen was fouled near the basket. Dudley and Ben Simmons both spilled into the courtside seats along the baseline at Barclays Center during the altercation. Embiid was given a flagrant 1 foul on Allen, and both Dudley and Butler, who swung his left forearm at Dudley, were called for technical fouls and ejected from the game. Without Butler in the game, the Nets are likely to take Game 4 and tie the series at two wins apiece. View the full article

Although both of those games are first-person shooters, Respawn is switching gears for their next release. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is an action-adventure RPG, and after teasing the project on Twitter, an official trailer has been released for the game online. He appears to be succeeding at staying undercover until he uses his control over the force to save a co-worker from certain death. 25. Sada Baby's right-hand man FMB DZ dropped his last project on the cusp of 2019. The Gift 2 is a project based in the new tradition of Detroit rap. DZ's "Loyalty" stresses the type of street values you'd expect out of visual essay bearing such a simple and straightforward headline. ""Loyalty" was directed by MVP. They came up with the concept and really captured what I was saying on the song,” FMB DZ told HypeBeast before premiering the video on their platform, "We out here working and will be dropping 2 more videos from The Gift 2 for "Windsor" and "Big Unk" soon. I’m also working on a new project to be released on my birthday, July 13th." Interestingly enough, Sada Baby those thoughts in his summation of their friendship earlier this month. "Yeah, that's my brother. Everything we do for the rest of our lives, me and him we'll always be gelling," he told us quite earnestly. FMB DZ plans to release two more videos off the project he released in December project before focusing his attention on a July 13 release date pegged for the next one. Keep it locked, Detroit's undercurrent is becoming hard to overlook, of which FMB DZ plays an ever so persistent role. [Via] View the full article
