  1. After unveiling a very mysterious video last month directing fans to the @12.18.20 page, Drizzy revealed the Nike NOCTA line. The line, as described in a press release, is meant for the hustlers and people on the grind "who want functional, comfortable fits that are adaptable from one environment to the next." The drop is set for Dec. 18th. "I always felt like there was an opportunity for Nike to embrace an entertainer the same way they had athletes. I thought about how crazy it would have been and what it would have meant for an artist to have a flagship Nike deal," Drizzy said in a statement. "NOCTA is a realization of all these thoughts and everything I had hoped for — from the culture it’s rooted in to the product and, most important, to the partnership and scale that allows me to share it with the world." Taking inspiration from Toronto, London, and Paris' unmatched love for the Nike Tech Fleece, Drake added in the statement, "With NOCTA, we were trying to make the hardest jacket, the hardest tracksuit, the hardest gloves." Now that the "Laugh Now Cry Later" rapper has officially unveiled his brand new collaborative subline with Nike, as well as the CLB drop, it appears more than likely that the official roll-out for Certified Lover Boy will arrive shortly after. After all, he did reveal that it would be dropping in Jan. 2021. [Via] View the full article
  2. It's all about Cali living in the music video for "Smoke Smoke." R-Mean and Berner reunite as they link-up with AD to glide through a single about kicking back and blazing up. The track was first shared months ago, and the recently-released first-person perspective visual shows what life is like for the artists: cruising down L.A.'s Pacific Coast Highway with a few models, catching some sun and sand at the beach, and vibing with friends at Cookies on Melrose. R-Mean took to Instagram to not only celebrate the release of "Smoke Smoke," but to boast about his end of the year Spotify stats. He amassed over 4.3 million streams this year with 1.1 million listeners, and he's ready to unload more music he has in the vault. "Grateful... Can’t wait to start releasing what I got in the clip!" the rapper wrote. "Let’s keep growing. Thank You." Check out "Smoke Smoke" and let us know what you think. View the full article
  3. At this point, none of us really know how many girlfriends or baby mamas NBA Youngboy has. Your guess is as good as mine. But in all seriousness, the 21-year-old rapper is said to have four sons, one daughter, another child on the way with Yaya Mayweather, and one non-biological child. His most recent baby mama, Drea Symone, just gave birth to their daughter over Thanksgiving weekend. Not sure if you've been keeping a tally, but that's seven children in total. At 21 years of age no less. But I digress. Video footage of Youngboy with yet, another young woman — presumed to be his new boo — has just surfaced the web, and fans have been reacting exactly how you'd expect: Predicting that his rumoured new girlfriend, Jazlyn, will be his next baby mama. Images Via The Shade Room Instagram Symone shared a photo of Youngboy's newest addition to the family with a heartwarming caption, revealing the baby's name. "I’ve been caught up cherishing the days after... it’s safe to say my heart is completely full!! Kodi Capri," she wrote. The name is rumoured to be mirrored after Youngboy's real initials, KCG — which she initialed at the end of her post — for Kentrell Gaulden. View the full article
  4. Cardi B was honored with Billboard Woman Of The Year in November which didn't necessarily resonate well with a lot of people. In all fairness, those who were critical of the decision probably didn't like Cardi in the first place. But still, the publication praised Cardi B for the success of the ever-controversial, "WAP" as well as her work in the political sphere. In the official story that was released today, Cardi B went into a dive on the events of 2020. She addressed protesters playing "WAP" outside of the White House on election night, especially after the backlash from Republicans who've never even seen WAP! "I just feel like it was such a big victory for me and for Megan," she said. "So many Republicans... were talking so much crap about 'WAP.' So it was just a victory for me seeing people celebrating Biden’s win with my and Megan’s song. Power of the pussy, ya heard?!" Of course, these political pundits on the right, like Candace Owens, have often benefitted from their Internet squabbles with Cardi. She explains that it played a factor in why she wanted to open her own OnlyFans account. "There’s certain people I want to curse out, but I don’t want to give them clout. For example, when me and Candace Owens got into an argument, I gave that bitch 2 million followers," she said. And on the topic of new music, Cardi B revealed that there's one particular song with a mysterious female feature that made her cry in the booth. "I have one song that is very personal and deep. It’s with another female artist, but even when I was recording it, I had to take a lot of breaks. I was looking at my engineer and he was looking like, 'Yeah, Cardi, I feel you,'" she said. "The only song that has ever made me tear up hasn’t come out, and it was about my daughter. I just felt like, “Can you guys stop looking at me recording this? Matter of fact, stop!” I really wanted to put the song out, but I was pregnant and had a really bad cold, so I didn’t sound right. My nose was just too stuffy. Putting it out now [would just be] weird because I’m not pregnant anymore." Cardi B unpacks a whole lot. Check out some of her looks from the photoshoot below. [Via] View the full article
  5. The holidays are just around the corner and it seems like the holiday music is officially inescapable. It's pretty much everywhere and for some reason, it's like the same five songs on rotation. Thankfully, Apple Music tapped a slew of artists for exclusive holiday singles. Giveon dropped off "O Christmas Tree" but we got Fivio Foreign turning a classic holiday record into a certified drill anthem for the festive season. Fivi is back with his new single, "Baddie On My Wish List" and it's everything you could probably want from a Christmas record in 2020. The rapper flips "First Day Of Christmas" with an aggressive flow as he details exactly what he wants to see under the Christmas tree on December 25th. Peep the latest offering from Fivio below. Quotable Lyrics On the first day of Christmas I put a baddie on my wish list No mistletoe, she wanted some kisses She got a shape and her walk vicious I took a Percocet and got addicted I'm off the drugs, lifted I fell in love with all of my bitches View the full article
  6. In case you've been living under a rock, a photo of Larsa Pippen and NBA player, Malik Beasley holding hands and walking through a Miami airport together surfaced online this week — first exciting fans with their budding romance, then appalling them as they realized it was actually a cheating scandal unfolding. Beasley's wife, Montana Yao — who claims to have found out of her husband's alleged affair the same way we did: Online — shared her reaction to the news via her Instagram story. "Wow… I don’t even know this man," she wrote. "The truth always comes out one way or another. I’ve always and will forever remain true to who I am and GOD has never let me down. Appreciate all the love y’all for real." As more and more details of their alleged affair come to light, eagle-eyed fans pointed out a comment that Beasley had left on Pippen's Instagram back in October, suggesting that their relationship goes back a tiny bit further than we thought. The Minnesota Timberwolves player commented on one of Pippen's selfies posted on October 23. "I just want to take you on a date and treat you like a queen," he wrote. Image via Larsa Pippen Instagram Leaving a flirty comment under somebody's photo seems like a really great way to get caught cheating. I'm amazed that he was outed by the paparazzi before this comment was uncovered. View the full article
  7. Juice WRLD was one of the greatest songwriters of his generation. He was a talented rapper and had a serious knack for melody, carving out a clear lane for himself as he became one of the most popular artists in the world. He passed away at the young age of 21. We all know that Juice had a lot left in him, so it's truly heartbreaking to be celebrating his legacy today, on what would have been his twenty-second birthday. With a new posthumous single out called "Real Shit" with Benny Blanco, Juice WRLD is being celebrated by all of his friends, fans, and family on what should have been a happy day for the artist. As we near the anniversary of his passing, Carmella Wallace, Juice's mother, sat back and reflected on all of the birthdays that she spent with Juice, sharing a touching message on his Instagram page. "Jarad and I both loved celebrating our birthdays - mine is just two weeks before his," wrote Carmella. "On our special days we used to wish one another Happy Birthday dozens and dozens of times throughout the day. Now I like to think of all the 'Happy Birthdays' we saved for the future. Jarad would have been 22 years old today. He will forever be the light of my life. Today, we celebrate him, his immense talent and creativity and his contributions to the world. Through his art, he spoke his truth." Isabel Infantes/PA Images via Getty Images Send your love to Carmella Wallace, as well as the rest of Juice WRLD's family, friends, and loved ones today. LLJW. 8. At the end of every year, Spotify subscribers celebrate finding out what their most listened to songs were and who their most listened to artists were for the last 365 days, and this year has been no different. Last night, Spotify released this year's wrap-up and the results have been surprising to many. Tory Lanez, who has been ostracized by the masses ever since he allegedly fired shots at Megan Thee Stallion, had an especially smug reaction to still being at the top of many people's lists, in spite of the incident that supposedly canceled him. Now, to be fair, Spotify Wrapped is a summary of each subscriber's entire year of streaming. Lanez's canceling didn't begin until July — and he had just released his album, The New Toronto 3 in April, leaving three months of guilt-free listening. So, it seems warranted that he would be at the top of many Spotify Wrapped results, and not entirely a reflection of his recent run-in with cancel-culture. "Lmao some of y’all going thru your minutes on playlist and realizing u didn’t really cancel sh*t ..... love u too," he tweeted. "Can’t believe u even tried to play with us like this," he followed up in a subsequent tweet. In mid November, it was reported by the Los Angeles District Attorney's office that Lanez would be pleading not guilty of one felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. If found guilty, the Canadian rapper can face a maximum state prison sentence of 22 years and eight months. View the full article
  9. Snoop Dogg is having himself an outstanding week, watching a bunch of million-dollar offers come in for him to commentate future sporting events. The recent surge stems from his incredible job at the commentator's desk during the Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. fight, which convinced everybody watching that the 49-year-old rap legend has a definite future in the booth. As he fields offers, Snoop is still spending time entertaining the masses on social media. He's known to share some relatable memes through the week, making him a must-follow on Instagram, and he did not disappoint this morning, coming through with a roast of all the women that have slid into his DMs. "Type of bitches in my DM," wrote Snoop on Instagram, sharing a picture of a woman whose wig is all out of sorts. Her hairline doesn't look believable and the part in her hair prompted Snoop to tell even more jokes. "We gone have to part ways," he said. It doesn't come as a surprise that there has been an increased interest in Snoop Dogg on the ladies' part. After all, he was one of the most entertaining parts of Saturday's fight. However, he's got a wife at home and probably shouldn't be checking out those DMs if he knows there's trouble in them. PA Images via Getty Images View the full article
  10. R&B singer, Giveon, 25 — whose debut EP Take Time was recently nominated for Best R&B Album by the 2021 Grammy Awards — just released his first holiday single, "O Christmas Tree." The track is exclusively available to Apple Music subscribers at the moment, but well worth going out of your way to listen to if you're subscribed to a different streaming service. If his other tracks this year, like "FAVORITE MISTAKE," "LIKE I WANT YOU," and "HEARTBREAK ANNIVERSARY" are any indication, "O Christmas Tree" is just as likeable — beyond typical Christmas music standards. His sonorous, sultry, velvety-smooth vocals are timeless ear-candy, regardless of how seasonal the lyrics he's singing are. Giveon's rendition on the classic holiday tune is enough to make even the Grinch feel festive. Quotable Lyrics: O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree Such pleasure do you bring me O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree Such pleasure do you bring me In every year this Christmas tree It brings to us both joy and glee O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree Such pleasure do you bring me View the full article

  12. Amid the 2020 US presidential election in early November, Cardi B shared a video of herself on Instagram puffing on three cigarettes at the same time, ranting about politics and venting about how anxious she was to see the results. In an interview paired with her recent "Woman of the Year" cover, issued by Billboard, Cardi went into more detail over her controversial post, revealing that while she doesn't do drugs, she does smoke the occasional cigarette (or three). "I was having fun with my kid, but then I kept looking on Instagram and was getting jittery. [Before the election], I just felt like Biden had this in the bag," she told Billboard. "Then Election Day came, and I’m seeing so many states are just red, period." "It just surprises you when you don’t hear people around you saying, ‘Oh, I don’t support Trump.’ There’s other people that don’t really think like us. Millions of people who are not on the same page as you and don’t understand what he did wrong and why we’re so anxious. I’m like, ‘Oh, shit. I’m getting nervous now," she continued. "If I didn’t voice my feelings, I would probably be one crazy b*tch on drugs." "I don’t do drugs; I smoke a little cigarette here and there, drink a little wine and Hennessy in the club, but those drugs I don’t do," she clarified, adding that she knows she has to watch what she says on social media to avoid backlash. "Let’s say something is ugly, right? Everybody in the comments is saying it’s ugly, but you’re saying it’s pretty. If you have the unpopular comment, then you’re in the wrong. So you gotta be careful with what comes out of your mouth. You can’t even call people ugly nowadays! I’m not saying I want to call people ugly — you just can’t even be yourself anymore." 16. More details have reportedly emerged about Casanova's federal RICO case. News broke on Tuesday (December 1) that the 34-year-old rapper was wanted by the FBI in connection to a case that involved an alleged gang called Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation. Casanova, real name Caswell Senior, is accused of being one of 18 members of the crew who have been hit with various counts including gun charges, racketeering charges, and allegations that they misappropriated COVID-19 relief funds. We previously reported that Casanova's specific charges are conspiracy to commit racketeering, conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. If convicted, it's reported that the rapper could face life in prison with a minimum of 10 years. At the time of this publication, Casanova remains missing as the FBI has issued a public plea on social media. "As the indictment alleges, the violence and drug activity committed by these gang members threatened the safety of our communities and placed innocent lives at risk," FBI Assistant Director William F. Sweeney Jr. said. "Their unabashed criminal behavior, as alleged, included the murder of a 15-year-old and even extended to defrauding programs meant for people suffering economic hardship due to the pandemic. But thanks to the partnership and hard work of all law enforcement agencies involved in this investigation, we were able to stop this violent criminal organization — and show that Gorilla Stone is actually not 'untouchable.'" According to a report made by The Shade Room, the FBI has accused Casanova of "trafficking cocaine and marijuana in and around New York City's boroughs." This information was reportedly included in the unsealed, 32-page indictment that the outlet states they've obtained. Casanova and his alleged co-conspirators are also accused of maintaining these crimes for at least a decade. The FBI considers the Roc Nation rapper to be a fugitive. 18. A rant by a frustrated restaurant owner recently went viral and caused a conversation about where it's acceptable to...well...twerk. On Sunday (November 29) evening, things got heated at True Kitchen + Kocktails, a Dallas eatery that opened back in August. In a clip that quickly circulated on social media, attorney and restaurant owner Kevin Kelley is seen and heard scolding his patrons after they were enjoying the DJ a little too much. There are multiple reports that people stood on chairs and cushions as they twerked to the music, but Kevin wasn't having any of it. “I invested a lot of money into buying this building and developing this concept so Black people can have somewhere nice to go to,” Kelley said in the clip after asking for the music to be shut off. “But all this twerking and [expletive], take it to [club] Pryme, take it to Pink, because we’re a restaurant.” For those who didn't like his rules, Kevin added that they could “get the [expletive] out of my restaurant" and told them to "get out because I don’t need your money.” The video was shared over one million times and garnered mixed reactions. Some people believed that he was overreacting while others, including many of Kelley's fellow restaurant owners, supported his remarks. His critics commented that if he didn't want people to dance, he shouldn't play music that encourages that behavior. The following day, Kevin Kelley returned to social media to apologize for his "poor choice of wording." However, he is unwavering in his stance. “The fact that we have music at our restaurant doesn’t mean that you can stand on our seats, lean on glass, and twerk,” Kelley told reporters. He added that he attempted to politely tell the guests not to dance and twerk, but they continued to do so. “This is a restaurant, we don’t have a dance floor, and these were the only ladies who ever acted that way. This is a less than one percent situation." He did ask a handful of his guests to leave. “They didn’t have any respect for us or the other customers, so it was necessary,” he said, mentioning that he now wishes he didn't use profanity during his rant. “But if that’s the only thing people are caught up on, they should consider the behavior of the guests in the first place. We’ve created a restaurant that’s here to serve the community. We created 70-plus jobs during a pandemic. Ninety-nine percent of our guests are fantastic, and we love them. We are not going to have their experience ruined because we have a few guests who want to stand on furniture and twerk. We’re not the restaurant for that.” [via] View the full article
  19. It's unbelievable to think that we're quickly approaching the one-year anniversary since Juice WRLD lost his life in an accidental drug overdose. It was on December 8 of last year when the tragic news began to circulate, and as his friends, family, and fans continue to grieve his loss, the rapper is remembered through his music. On July 10, Juice WRLD's team released his posthumous album Legends Never Die, and in 2020 we've heard his collaborations with Eminem, Polo G, G Herbo, and more. We previously reported earlier this year that there were rumors of Juice having thousands of tracks in the vault, so it isn't surprising to hear yet another posthumous sonic gifting from the late artist. In honor of what would have been Juice WRLD's 22nd birthday (December 2), benny blanco shared his collaboration with the rapper: "Real Sh*t." Over on Instagram, blanco penned a lengthy yet emotional tribute to his departed friend. "He was an absolute genius to say the least but above all he was one of the kindest and most considerate people i have ever met," blanco wrote. 20. The big show on Saturday (November 28) night may have been in the ring, but there was almost an altercation after the bout was over. Boxing champs Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. faced off in an exhibition match at the Staples Center last weekend, resulting in a draw. However, it's reported that a fan thought it would be wise to step to Tyson after the fight, and thankfully, Tyson was able to laugh off the prodding instead of taking him on. According to a report by TMZ, Mike Tyson and his entourage were reportedly exiting the venue when he bumped into a group of adoring fans waiting for a familiar famous face to sign autographs and take pictures. Tyson happily obliged, and as he was making his way over to the small group, a man decided to yell at the prized fighter. It seemed that the man challenged Tyson and wanted to know why he couldn't fight the boxer. The outlet states that Tyson made light of the situation and joked with the man that if he did accept his challenge, he wouldn't fare too well. Then, the deranged man took a swing at Tyson before reaching into his waistband as if he was going to pull out some sort of weapon. Tyon's team immediately jumped into action and diffused the situation, but the man reportedly ran off before anyone could question him. It's said that some members of Tyson's team recognized the man from another event where he also caused a scene. [via] View the full article
  21. Things got testy at Disney World in Florida, according to a local report. Pretty Ricky singer Spectacular Smith was taken into custody after allegedly getting into an altercation with a Disney employee, or as they call them, cast members. A report made by WESH2 states that the Love & Hip Hop Miami star was involved in an altercation that stemmed from him not wanting to leave the line of an attraction after being asked to do so. As the story goes, Spectacular was at Disney's Animal Kingdom and as he was walking toward a ride, the singer made a gesture that looked as if he was going to sneeze. He followed up the move by saying "coronavirus," to which a cast member told him that it wasn't funny to do that at the park. Spectacular allegedly disagreed and said, "I thought it was." The cast member told Spectacular that he needed to remove himself from the line, but the singer reportedly refused to budge. When the cast member stood in Spectacular's way to prevent him from moving forward, the reality star is said to have attacked the Disney employee. The arrest report reportedly states that the cast member was punched twice. As a precautionary measure, the cast member was taken to a local hospital. Spectacular was later released on bail and reportedly faces a battery charge for the alleged assault. [via] View the full article
  22. In a world where Zoom and virtual interactions have become the norm thanks to COVID-19, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has shared that the 2021 Oscars will be in-person. As a global collective, we've lived a vastly different year than ever before as the world underwent a lockdown due to the pandemic, causing the entertainment industry to adjust to the times. Award shows have been held virtually as personal contact has been restricted because of social distancing, but a recent report states that the Academy is determined to bring the rich and famous together for their coveted 2021 ceremony. “The Oscars in-person telecast will happen,” a rep from the Academy and ABC reportedly shared with Variety. For months, production for film and television was shut down, causing tens of thousands to be out of work. Only recently has the entertainment industry jumped back into the swing of things, and because of such, the Academy pushed back their eligibility dates. That caused the ceremony's date to be delayed, as well, and it's all set to go down on April 25, 2021. The Academy Awards is typically held at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Calif., but just how producers plan on logistically seating attendees in the 3,400 capacity venue is unknown. An awards publicist reportedly told Variety, “The Academy has done a walkthrough of the Dolby recently to see all the multiple options." [via] View the full article
  23. The West Coast may have almost had another super-team in the making. Last month, the Golden State Warriors suffered the devastating news that Klay Thompson would be out for the season. The 30-year-old basketball star reportedly injured himself during practice, and it was allegedly so severe that he wasn't able to stand. An exam determined that he tore his Achilles, so with one of their star players on the bench, many are hoping the Warriors will be able to pull through. According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, prior to Klay Thompson's injury, the Warriors were looking to expand the team with another NBA star. "The Warriors at one point made a call in for James Harden," Charania told Complex's Load Management podcast. Harden is reportedly unhappy with his placement on the Houston Rockets as some have stated he isn't thrilled that the team's owner, Tilman Fertitta, supported Donald Trump. "The Rockets are expecting James Harden to be in training camp," said Charania. "He clearly made it known to people within Houston that he wants to be a contender somewhere else. I don't think talks ever really progress on James Harden. I think you had several teams inquire." There were apparently hopes by some that there would be a trifecta formed with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and James Harden, but it wasn't fruitful. View the full article
  24. As people continue to call for justice for Nipsey Hussle, it looks as if the murder trial of suspect Eric Holder has been delayed. It was back on March 31, 2019, when the 33-year-old rapper and community activist was murdered in Los Angeles, prompting a global storm of support. As Hip Hop honored Nipsey's legacy, millions of others jumped on the bandwagon as they learned of his community building, mentorship, and entrepreneurial endeavors. Nipsey Hussle remains a motivational figure in music and beyond, but a judge said on Tuesday (December 1), that Holder, who is accused of shooting and killing Hussle, won't face a trial for at least another three months. “I really don’t how we can realistically expect to see this case go to trial anytime in the next 90 days or more,” said Judge Robert J. Perry. It seems that the COVID-19 pandemic is the cause of the delay. “Mr. Holder, I don’t know what to tell you except that the court system and this county are plagued by a sickness that we call the COVID virus, and the court system has been very much impacted." The judge added that Holder has "the right to a speedy trial," but he, and his attorneys, will have to return on January 21 to reassess how they will move forward. At that time, the judge said that he will attempt to get the trial started within 30 days of that date, but added, "I don't think that's going to happen." Perry then asked Holder if that was acceptable, to which Holder said yes. The accused killer also confirmed that he had his own prison cell. In addition to the murder charge, Holder also faces "two counts each of attempted murder and assault with a firearm and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon." Holder has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. [via] View the full article

The last time we received a project from the 27-year-old rapper was back in August when he dropped off his 7-track V Tape—a collection of songs that fans and fellow artists alike applauded. On Monday (November 30), Mensa returned with more music for the masses, this time delivering his "Breathe (Freestyle)." Mensa raps over the beat to Fabolous's classic 2004 hit "Breathe," a song that has prompted many emcees to share verses over its Just Blaze production.
