What's with all of the insane teachers?

We have on average 2 stories a week about insane teachers. I'm with Red, let's start keeping track of where they're from over a period and see the good states to opt for home-schooling.

I'm sorry but I really think these people need not only background checks but psycho checks before handling children/special needs/elderly etc . It's terrible to have to have something so horrible happen to anyone before people think. "hmmm, maybe we should change this stupid policy" or what not.

I am really not a violent person but again let me tell you that if anything like this happened to one of my kids I'd be going to jail also.

Garrett was booked into the Seminole County Jail but released Wednesday night.

No, no. They've got it all wrong. You're supposed to keep the animal INSIDE the cage. Why would anyone let it out?

In my opinion, she's too dangerous to be let out, and has a great potential to flee or possibly hurt someone in revenge.

I don't know Koop.  I see lots of stories from Tx, Ga, and Cal as well.  Those states seem to have a disproportionate number of wacko stories.  Maybe we ought to start keeping score.

don't bother, redneck--i'll dig the statistics up, but the most/worst crimes against people (divorce for fucked-up reasons, emotional crimes like spur-of-the-moment murders &c are ALL from southern so-called bible-belt states).

this makes me laugh my ass off at all those religious right moral values hypocrite nutjob assholes.

and as an ex-special ed. teacher i agree w/amber about the background and psycho checks.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
