Hi! I'm a vocal/guitar of the band "Targetoy". We are registered users of www.artistnow.com. Check profile: http://www.artistnow.com/index.php?m=vp&a=1&id=11636

Here?s our story:

Well, we play somewhat a strange mixture of indie/funkcore. We are popular within our district rocking our friends? pants out on gigs! But it?s not enough for us!! So, we?ve registered to many sites providing promotion for bands. Nevertheless, it wasn?t much a success. After becoming users of ArtistNow we?ve got 17 gigs invitations during 1 (!!!) month! No doubt, this community is ok as well. But you simply need to check ArtistNow one! It?s worth visiting, believe me.

Best Regards,

Targetoy band

a quick look at artistnow shows they stress 'social networking.' is that how it works, how your band got more gigs? from referrals and audiences of friends of friends &c? however, good luck.

2 slum_goddess (thanx for wishing us good luck:))

Actually, they stress somewhat business networking. They have a on-line device letting memebers of the site send invitiation letters to each other. We've contacted several industry officials. They got interested. That is it. Actually, we were pleased (even a little bit shocked) with the thing how fast ve've got so many gigs invitations!

Yeah, you are right... Actually, there are some profiles that can be viewed by unregistered users (but not all of them). They are permanently changing as far as I understood. Yesterday my profile was available. Today it is not. Par me.

Nevertheless, if you got interested you can register to the ArtistNow database. Actually, there's nothing to push:) Currently they have free registration.

P.S. I've just sent the ArtistNow team the message with a request to make my profile viewable to all the Internet surfers. Waiting for a reply!

So, what do you think about this site?

after getting the log-in page (but w/o the explanatory text i saw the other day), i clicked here. unless i'm missing something, it's just another showcase for unsigned bands &c. i would think they'd lose the sign-up thing to allow anyone to check out their stuff, but what do i know?

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
