Gigs and Gigs and Gigs! It's Email Insanity!!

Now this one's a tad different than Spymac or Gmail.

It's called YouSendIt (at http://www.yousendit.com/)

The idea here is that you can send any file attachment to someone with a filesize as big as a gigabyte!.

To help avoid clogging up the receiving person's inbox, YouSendIt had this to say:

Choose who you want to send a file to. It can be anyone with an email address. You can specify multiple email addresses separated by commas.

Select a file to send. You can send photos, audio, documents or anything else. Your file will be stored by YouSendIt without ever filling up your recipient's mailbox.

Click on Send. YouSendIt will automatically email your recipient a link to your file stored on our server. Your file will be deleted after seven days.

If you remember a service from a few years ago called Filepool, this is similar.

Hmm,

Call me skeptical but they would have to have a ton a room to accomodate all of those files.

Files uploaded to yousendit are deleted in 7 days.

If the file is over 10mb, the file is deleted either after 25 downloads (or 7 days), whichever comes first.

If it is anything like spymac, it's not worth the trouble. All I encountered with that service was endless problems, until I finally gave up.

I'd rather just wait until Gmail shows itself.

I just emailed myself 2 songs as a test. It worked perfectly and instantly. The transfer speed was a little slow, 1 min for 3 meg, but I love it. It is the easiest to use thing I have ever seen. I am old and stupid so I need simplicity.

I had a problem with Hotmail. My computer guru son retrieved the file. I sent the next one to Yahoo email, right clicked on the link, save target as and bam....worked so perfectly. I LOVE it!
