Damn, it's cold in LA - earlier it rained. I guess I shouldn't complain - the country is blanketed with snow.

I will no doubt be spamming away - it's the season for music, film and book lists - and more are coming in. Hard to keep up with them all.

I have a Xmas get together tomorrow evening. Tonight I'm kicking back with a bottle of merlot and a movie or two.

I hope everyone's holiday season is moving into full gear - it's been a trying year for lots of folks.

How about you? Wassup?

i think it is all in my back yard ... unbelievable weather around here in new england ... last weekend, no power due to an ice storm like no other around here for many years ... this weekend, just happy to have power so far, but snow snowing continually since friday ... soooo, just staying snuggly inside this weekend, hearing some music .... happy winter solstice ... B)

My son's wife delivered a healthy 9lb 6oz baby girl a few hours ago. Now you can call me grandpa. :thumbsup:

      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
