Are there any twitter users here on Beatking?

Im trying to get some followers as well as trying to find some like minded folks to follow.

My account is HERE if you want to add me.

I am also still looking for people to help me promote my ChipIn (HERE) page. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

On a different note, I finally found a job! It is seasonal but it is a job none the less. I will be back in uniform sadly. The only good news is that it is a UPS uniform and not an Army uniform.

My weekend will be spent preparing to help deliver hundreds of packages a day for $8.50/hr (ouch).

Aussie Bushfire Crisis puts a new face on social networking.....

Facebook, Twitter, My Space and their offshoots have a bad reputation. People communicate but they don't talk, they exchange words without a face and can function as part of a network without ever stepping outside their house. Because of this optional distance, social networking sites like Facebook are panned by the civic-minded for a lack of humanity and authenticity.

The bushfires in Victoria are now testing the usefulness and relevance of the social media. As the bushfires have multiplied to destroy towns, homes and lives, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, MySpace and other social networking sites have reacted.

I’m Sorry Robert, But It’s Time For A Friendfeed Intervention...

I’m a big champion of services like Twitter and the newer Friendfeed (can you believe Friendfeed is less than a year old?). But there’s a difference between liking a service and having an addiction. Robert Scoble...http://scobleizer.com...crossed that line, and I believe he’s asking for help.

but why would you want to?

The title is sort of a misnomer - the video does give you some terrific search suggestions that allow you to use twitter effectively no matter how many people you follow or follow you

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
