It all depends on what happens with my car... a tire flew over the median the other day and hit my car so that needs to be looked at... it'll be at least a week before I have my car back the way it's supposed to be. :(

The second one looks worse in person. The picture is actually quite flattering!

If I hadn't swerved the little bit I could, it would have hit my windshield.

If the car place that's fixing the other stuff I have wrong needs my car overnight, then I have a weekend of absolutely nothing planned.

If they don't need it overnight, then I'm going to meet the boyfriend's family and enjoy a weekend of Spam...

That's part of the broken mirror.

Let's hope they fix it quickly, so you can party with the rest of us -- looks like fun times for all

Baseball District Tournament for our All-Star team of 10 year-olds. We have our 14th practice (3-4 hours) in the last 15 days tomorrow morning, then the tournament starts for us on Sunday. It's been so hot here, I think I've consumed a barrel full of Gatorade this month, along with buying an iceberg of crushed ice for the cooler. And I'm real sick of smelling the goopy sunscreen I slather on while I'm out on the field so long...

got to spend friday afternoon & evening in boston ... enjoyed walking through the common and gardens, perfect weather ... beautiful flowers in full bloom ... fun to watch all the kiddles playing, splashing in the little pond there ... then to see riverdance at night ... great day ...

saturday, i enjoyed a bike ride with a few guys i met on a h-d forum ... we rode over 200 miles on the mohawk trail ... was a great ride, another perfect weather day, only to be outshined by the riders of the ride ... was nice to be able to meet them & ride with them (and to keep up with them, too ... hehe) ... another great day ... good on you, potato. i'm glad it was only your car and not you.

practically forgot what i did last weekend just about now. oh right, i was in london at two parties after the Showband gigs. they were pretty wild, complete w/girls crying at the end, plenty of extra-legals and a LOT of broken hearts (not mine). poor liddle girls.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
