  1. Antonio Brown was the center of attention for the first part of the NFL season thanks to his antics that got him promptly kicked off of the Oakland Raiders. Brown is one of the best wide receivers in the league so it wasn't exactly a surprise when Bill Belichick swooped in and signed him to the New England Patriots. After signing with the team, he was immediately accused of sexual assault in a recent lawsuit and was released from the team after just one game and countless other off-the-field antics. Since his release from the Patriots, Brown has been jonesing around for his money and is trying to recoup all of the guaranteed dollars he lost. Now that he is without a team, he is looking back fondly on his career and recently, he retweeted Skip Bayless of all people, who pondered what it would be like if Brown was still on the Patriots. Based on AB's interaction with the post, it's clear that he is feeling the same way about his partnership with TB12. It appears as though Brown and Brady were already good friends, with the six-time Super Bowl champion going to bat for AB countless times. If it weren't for the wishes of Robert Kraft, Brown would probably still be on the Patriots right now so the wide receiver must be feeling a little nostalgic. Perhaps once the investigation against Brown is complete, he can come back and help the Patriots win yet another Super Bowl. View the full article
  2. When he's not dropping new hits or belting out classic soul jams on Instagram, 21 Savage invests his time in his community. Not only does the activist host events for the families in the Atlanta neighborhood he once called home, but after being detained by ICE earlier this year, the rapper speaks out against what he claims are unlawful immigration policies and practices. Jerritt Clark/Getty Images He may not be in ICE custody, but that doesn't mean that 21 Savage doesn't have a long road ahead of him. The London-born, Atlanta-bred rapper is reportedly still fighting against being deported and, according to TMZ, he can't leave the country. There are plenty of money-making opportunities to be had, but the government is reportedly forbidding him from accepting any gigs outside of the United States until his case has been resolved. However, the outlet states that he's yet to receive a scheduled date to appear in court. Only recently has the rapper obtained a permit allowing him to work within the U.S., something that was denied him for eight months following his arrest. TMZ shares that Atlanta may have too many cases on their hands as there are people currently with court dates in 2022. If that is true, Savage could be at odds with the government for years to come and he could be stuck within America's borders. Meanwhile, it seems that he'll be talking about what he endured while detained by ICE in a new track that he recently previewed. You can check that out here. View the full article
  3. As Chixtape V's November 15 release date approaches, the world will see much more of Tory Lanez. The rapper-singer is making the press rounds promoting his forthcoming anticipated project, and recently he shared a few interesting tidbits with HipHopDX. We're expecting a bevy of guests on Chixtape V, but Tory claims that to date, he's never had to pay another artist for a feature. He credits that as being industry trade-offs with artists in an unspoken agreement of doing each other favors. Cassidy Sparrow/Getty Images "I have paid for a clearance for 2 Chainz," Tory added. "I didn't understand why I was paying for the clearance, but whatever. That's probably the closest thing I've ever... He charged me like, $50,000, bruh! I was mad as f*ck. I called that n*gga up like, 'Bruh, boy you trippin', bruh.' He was like, 'Nah, bruh. Lil Wayne charged me [$75,000], $100,000 one time.' I said, aight, cool." Tory did mention that the most he ever received for a feature was $150K after some artists in London dropped the cash to get him on their track. In another clip of the interview, Tory shared that he had to get his hair together so he called up Tyga to get the details on who restored his hairline. Tory said that for the information, he offered Tyga unlimited features for life. We all witnessed Tyga share the name and phone number of his surgeon last year, but Tory said that his deal with the hitmaker went down before that happened. Watch the videos below. 4. It seemed as if Adam Lublin was sitting at the top of the world. There was a time when Lublin acted as manager for Young Thug and Kodak Black, and he was also a bigwig for AEG, the touring giant for big-name artists. He attended all the exclusive parties and was jet setting around the world, but earlier this year, that all came crashing down after the executive was hit with charges of sexual abuse. We previously reported that Lublin faced two counts of burglary and one count of sexual abuse and as the weeks have progressed, more charges have been added. According to Rolling Stone, the Manhattan District Attorney's office has shared in court documents, "With respect to the November 22nd, 2015 incident, the defendant sexually assaulted a sleeping coworker. When she awoke to the defendant’s non-consensual touching, the Complaining Witness confronted the defendant immediately, waking up her friend who was sleeping in the room with her. She immediately reported what the defendant did to that friend and told others in the days that followed. The incident was also investigated by HR." The "non-consensual touching" cited in the above statement reportedly was the woman waking to find Lublin's fingers inside of her vagina. In September, Lublin was arrested for the alleged assault of two roommates—incidents that occurred at differing times. In one, Lublin reportedly broke into his neighbor's apartment, felt her up as she was sleeping and then stole her underwear along with a distinctive flamingo straw. Police canvassed the apartment building and saw him tossing out a cup with the same straw design. When they inspected the cup, the woman's underwear were reportedly inside. Lublin also stands accused of assaulting the woman's roommate after she claims she "awoke to find a man in her bed touching her breasts and put her hand on his groin." The DA wrote in court documents that there has been a forensic search of Lublin's phone and incriminating evidence was found including searches of the women's names, photos inside their apartment, and pornography photos of unconscious women being groped sexually. Now, Rolling Stone shared that Lublin, who now faces upwards of 37 years in prison, has new charges of two counts of sexual abuse, second-degree burglary and second-degree burglary as a sexually motivated felony. 5. Two entertainment greats came together to have a casual conversation about music. Hitmakers Rick Rubin and Pharrell Williams chatted on a sunny afternoon about being inspired and creating hits, and during their conversation, Pharrell talked about his plagiarism controversy. Last year, a jury ruled that Pharrell and Robin Thicke copied Marvin Gaye's 1977 classic track "Got to Give it Up" when they created "Blurred Lines." A $5 million judgment was issued against the musicians, and Pharrell shared that it was a moment that "set [him] back." Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images "Stevie Wonder told me you gotta get the right musicologist in there because juries don't understand," Pharrell recalled. "It's very technical what you've done." Rubin chimed in and said "Blurred Lines" is nothing like "Got to Give it Up." Pharrell agreed and added, "But the feeling was." Rubin said you can't copyright a feeling before the pair agreed that all salsa, reggae, and trap songs pretty much sound the same. “And it hurt my feelings because I would never take anything from anyone. And that really set me back," Pharrell added. About the two tracks, the mega-producer said, "Rayon and silk feel the same, but we understand that there's a clear difference... I really made ["Blurred Lines"] feel so much like ["Got to Give it Up"] that people were like, 'Oh, I hear the same thing.'" “It’s bad for music because we’ve had an understanding of what a song is, and now based on that one case, now there’s a question of what a song is,” Rubin replied. “It’s not what it used to be because in the past, it would be the chords, the melody, and the words would be the song. And your chords, your melody, and your words...none of them had anything to do [with "Got to Give it Up"]... It leaves us as music-makers in a really uncomfortable place making things because we don’t know what you can do." Pharrell said: "I failed you." Watch the clip below. View the full article
  6. Conscious rapper Common has used his platform to inspire for years. Whether aspiring emcees want to be like him or enlightened youths want to learn from him, Common Sense has used his popularity to motivate others. A Milpitas, California teacher poked fun at the rapper's expense for Halloween, and what he thought was a joke has landed him in trouble with students, teachers, and the community. Arnold Turner/Getty Images NBC News reports that the unidentified teacher imitated Common, much to the ire of the administration. The Milpitas Unified School District school board president Chris Norwood released a statement saying the teacher "chose to wear black face paint and satirically imitate a TV commercial and well known national social activist of the African American community," adding the move was "inappropriate, unprofessional and insensitive." Common has been featured on the national campaign for Microsoft as he speaks on the importance of artificial intelligence technology. A student recorded the teacher mocking the commercial in the front of the class as he said, "Opportunities limitless, possibilities senseless, what will you do? Millions of people, not enough to eat, what will we do? With A.I. Microsoft technology, the future...it's up to you. You can do it. With A.I., the future will blow your mind." The teacher has reportedly been placed on administrative leave, and the School District Superintendent Cheryl Jordan along with the school's principal Francis Rojas released a joint statement condemning the teacher's actions. "In a school community where we welcome learners and families from over 50 languages who represent cultures and religions throughout the world, and where our long-standing neighborhood, Sunnyhills, was established as the first city in the nation for planned integration, it hurts to know that this type of cultural insensitivity and lack of cultural awareness still hovers in the background," the statement said. 7. It was just about a month ago when Tiffany Haddish made a public announcement that she was going to refrain from sharing too much of her personal life with the public. The declaration came following her tit-for-tat with Chingy after she told Ellen Degeneres that she and the rapper slept together. "I am done being a open book," the comedian wrote. "Sorry world no more raw entertainment from me.. But if you do me wrong everyone will know!" Paul Morigi/Getty Images Haddish just couldn't help herself during her appearance on How Hungry Are You? with Toronto Raptors baller Serge Ibaka. On the show, Serge cooks up strange cuisines for his guests, and in this case, he diced up some fried worms for the actress. The NBA star also interviewed Haddish and asked her if it was true that she once took a bowel movement inside of her ex-boyfriend's shoes. She confirmed that it did happen—in his brand new Jordans—and went on to explain why she decided to defecate in his kicks. "I was very upset. I was emotional and I felt like he had pooed on my soul," she joked. "So then, I decided to poo on the sole of his shoes." Haddish shared that after she pulled the disgusting move, she invited her then-boyfriend to play basketball with her. Since the shoes were brand new she crapped in them, put them back in the box, took them to his house, watch him put them on, and then yelled at him for cheating with another woman on her birthday. Check out the full episode below where she dishes about her Emmy nods, hosting Saturday Night Live, and how she feels about being a black woman in the entertainment industry. View the full article
  8. Kylie Jenner became TikTok's most influential user, pulling in seven million views with her Rise & Shine singing video, becoming the app's fastest-growing trend since it's inception. The latter makes it clear how many users are on the app and it's seemingly for that reason why it's under government investigation, sources report. As the story goes, Senators Chuck Schumer and Tom Cotton wrote a letter to the US Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire stating how the app is a "national security risk" due to the 110 million downlands in the US alone. Presley Ann/Getty Images TikTok is owned by Beijing-based ByteDance, which bought Musical.ly two years then merging it with TikTok. Lawmakers are calling the move a “potential counterintelligence threat we cannot ignore.” “I remain deeply concerned that any platform or application that has Chinese ownership or direct links to China, such as TikTok, can be used as a tool by the Chinese Communist Party to extend its authoritarian censorship of information outside China’s borders and amass data on millions of unsuspecting users,“ Senator Marco Rubio wrote in a statement. “I welcome today’s news that an investigation has reportedly been opened.” The Committee on Foreign Investment (CFIUS) reviews deals made by foreign acquirers and is working diligently on uncovering any potential risk to users' information that ties into TikTok’s growing influence. 9. Just hours prior to their iHeartRadio Live event at the Apollo Theater in New York, Big Sean called into Angie Martinez's radio station for a quick chat about his forthcoming album. The Detroit rapper has shared singles like "Single Again" featuring ex-girlfriend Jhené Aiko and "Bezerk" with A$AP Ferg, and fans have been excited to see what this new, more self-aware Sean Don will deliver. Theo Wargo/Getty Images Sean has shared with the public that he's back to enjoying the music-making process now that he's taking the proper steps to care for his physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. "When you have the mentality that you gotta stay hungry, gotta stay on people's necks, gotta stay hot and all of that, you kinda neglect yourself a little bit," the rapper told Angie. "I did that for like, years and years and years and years and then all of a sudden it really started catching up with me and I realized, man, I can't even deliver my best if I'm not nowhere close to my best. So, I just needed to take some time for myself." Sean also shared that he has "so many surprises" in store on his next album and that he'll formally announcing the project very soon. 10. Recent Eminem leaks have put the controversial rapper in the center of attention. Last week, a track reportedly titled "What If" with Joyner Lucas made its way online and the lyricas caused quite the conversations on social media. "What if I told you I was out of place / Wait, what if I told you I was gay?" Joyner reportedly raps. Em also chimes in, "What if I'm a hypocrite who's just afraid to face truth? / Wait, what if I told you I'm gay, too?" Theo Wargo/Getty Images According to Insider, over the weekend a Reddit user shared a short, seven-second snippet of Eminem rapping, "Of course I side with Chris Brown, I'd beat a b*tch down, too." The song reportedly comes from an unreleased version of "Things Get Worse," a track the Detroit rapper completed with B.o.B. in 2011. However, the outlet states this controversial lyric dates back to 2009, just months before Brown was officially charged with assault. The snippet, and the bar, have made the rounds on social media but it's being snatched down as quickly as it goes up. That hasn't stopped the public from taking to social media to share their reactions. Eminem would go on to collaborate with Rihanna on the hit song "Love the Way You Lie" in 2010, an award-winning single that earned the duo five Grammy nods. Rihanna also lent her vocals to Em's chart-topping hit "The Monster," as well. View the full article

  13. Angie Martinez is a legend in the hip-hop radio and interview space which has led to her being beloved by audiences and even the artists she interviews. Whenever Martinez sits down with an artist, you know you're going to get an amazing interview that will certainly leave you knowing a lot more about the artist than you did before. Unfortunately, Martinez was in a scary car accident over the weekend and this morning, she addressed her fans about what happened. It seems as though no one knew of the accident prior to her giving the details and based on her injuries, it seems like it was pretty scary. As Martinez describes, she has a fractured lumbar and shattered vertebrae, which means she is in for a long recovery. “I’ve always believed in angels and mine was with me the other morning,” Martinez wrote. I’m recovering and will be for some time, but I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to do that… I am in the best spirits possible and determined to be back better than ever soon!” With this horrible news in mind, we are wishing Martinez the best and a quick recovery. Car accidents and the like are always incredibly scary so we hope Martinez is able to get back on her feet and being great at what she does. View the full article

Other comments followed suit, "Everyday being a Kanye fan gets harder and harder." Kanye's newest album Jesus is King may be polarizing, but the sales are indisputable. 15. The UFC 244 main event for the "Baddest Motherfucker" title didn't have the dramatic finish that fight fans had hoped for, but you won't catch Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson complaining about the way things went down at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night. The Rock, who presented Jorge Masvidal with the BMF belt following his 3rd round TKO victory against Nate Diaz, took to instagram several times over the weekend to explain how honored he was to be a part of such an electric event. He also took some time to praise both fighters, specifically Masvidal, who earned himself the title of "The Baddest Muthafucka on the planet." One of The Rock's other IG post reads: "I’m always impressed with an individual’s discipline and commitment to succeed. But I’m impressed more with how one handles their success and that level of intense pressure to be #1. Congrats @gamebredfighter for being that example, raising the bar and getting the job done. My goal was to help promote this fight as much as I could in hopes that Jorge, @natediaz209 and all the fighters could make as much moneyas possible at the Garden - that was completely sold out. Congrats! Thanks brotha for having the brilliant idea to have me present the BMF Title to you. Always got you. Hardest workers in the room. BMF in the game. Now go destroy some MF’n cheat meals" Masvidal cut Diaz open in two different spots during the first three rounds, one above his right eyebrow and another just below the eye, which led doctors to call the fight before the start of the championship rounds. Diaz is already angling for a rematch but we'll have to wait and see if Dana White will grant him the opportunity. View the full article
  16. This past weekend, Solange Knowles announced on Instagram that she was splitting up with Alan Ferguson who she has been married to for five years. The break-up came as a bit of a shock to people as they have been joined at the hip for a fairly long time now. Solange has been very open about her life with the public, so the details she expounded on in her initial post made sense considering the circumstances. Immediately after the announcement, fans began to theorize that she might have been cheating on Ferguson with her co-manager, John Bogaard. Solange wasn't exactly a fan of these rumors and took to social media where she scolded those making up alleged lies about her. “Yo, John [Bogaard] is my former co-manager y’all gotta chill. I’m not about to be silenced into letting complete lies narrate my life. To take my words ‘my body left me with no choice but to listen and be still’ after speaking about my health journey…which has already been painful enough and turn [it] into an interpretation of unfaithfulness is just…wow,” Solange said in a now-deleted tweet. In another deleted post, Knowles said “I hate to even give this energy, but I will not let something so untrue follow me when I’ve tried to lead my life in truth. I hope y’all spread this with the same conviction and energy that [you] did that false narrative. Much love.” Twitter and social can be a pretty dangerous place so it's not surprising that rumors like this would be circulating, even if they are extremely far from the truth. Regardless, Solange is going through a hard time right now and most likely has better things to deal with than rumors. [Via] View the full article
  17. It's officially Savage Season. Last week, we got a Halloween drop from the Atlanta rapper - a new song entitled "Immortal". For four minutes, he comes for heads over a haunting Kid Hazel beat. The next day, 21 Savage was pleasantly surprised to realize that the song had shot to #3 on the Apple Music charts. To show his gratitude for the great reception, he said he would soon be sharing the first single off his forthcoming project. We might have just received a taste of what it will sound like. Savage comes out swinging on this new snippet, too. The first bars we hear, as he raps along in his car, is: "They keep talking that shit like I don't got AK's / Like whenever I see these motherf*ckers I won't spray spray." He's clearly referencing the abundance of memes that surfaced when ICE detained him in February and his citizenship was called into question. When it was revealed that the rapper originally hailed from London, many people online came up with jokes about his closeted U.K. ways. Although Savage has clarified that the memes did not bother him, leave it to him to spin the situation to deliver more threats in his songs. Either way, it sounds fire. View the full article
  18. The Los Angeles Lakers are riding a five-game winning streak following a pair of road wins over the weekend, including an overtime victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night and a 103-96 win against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. During that visit to the AT&T Center last night, noted Lakers fan Snoop Dogg joined the Lakers' Spectrum SportsNet broadcast for a little play-by-play. Check out the footage in the video embedded below. Anthony Davis led all scorers on Sunday night with 25 points to go along with 11 rebounds and four blocks, while LeBron James posted another triple-double with 21 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds. Dwight Howard chipped in 14 points, 13 rebounds and a pair of blocks. "Dwight Howard was huge," James said, per ESPN. "Every minute that he played. Great performance by him, crashing the glass, catching lobs, getting great strips defensively, giving us extra possessions. He was vintage tonight in the minutes that he played." As a result of Sunday's win, the Lakers improved to 5-1 on the season with their lone loss coming in the season-opener to Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers. Up next for the Lake Show is a Tuesday night matchup in Chicago before they return to Staples Center for a pair of home games against the Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors. View the full article
  19. Cleveland Browns safety Jermaine Whitehead found himself in an odd predicament on Sunday after the team lost to the Denver Broncos. Whitehead wasn't playing particularly well and his team suffered because of it. After the match, Whitehead seemed to be a little bit angrier than usual and took his frustrations out on everyone who was criticizing him. In fact, Whitehead was so mad that he started to threaten people, saying that he would shoot at them and also kill them. Not to mention, he began calling people "cracker" which didn't exactly help his case. Whitehead was also responding to people in his Instagram DMs and this was all happening immediately after the game when he was still in his uniform. After a while, the Browns were able to get a hold of him and he stopped his social media antics once and for all. The safety then took to Instagram where he issued an apology but by then the damage has been done and saving his reputation was too late. The Browns announced this morning that they would be waiving him which means he will no longer be a part of the franchise. Whitehead's antics are yet another blemish on a Browns season that has been pretty abysmal. You really hate to see it. [Via] View the full article
  20. Heading into this season, many people believed the Cleveland Browns could be one of the best teams in football. With a solid defense and a plethora of offensive weapons, this Browns team was primed and ready to become a real contender in the AFC, especially after having a relatively decent season last year. Well, the Browns haven't even been close to living up to the expectations and after a 24-19 loss to the Denver Broncos, the team has a record of 2-6 and almost virtually no chance of making it to the playoffs. It seems as though recent acquisition Odell Beckham Jr is starting to feel the frustration as quarterback Baker Mayfield isn't finding his targets properly. In a report from a CBS analyst, it was revealed that OBJ allegedly said “I can’t get the ball to save my life” and that he didn't want to be anywhere near Mayfield. Mayfield and Beckham Jr were expected to be one of the best one-two punches in the league this season but so far, they have fallen way short of those expectations. It will be interesting to see how Beckham decides to roll on with this moving forward as he may just decide he's had enough of losing. With just eight games left in the season, the Browns don't have much time to turn it around and become the team everyone thought they would be. [Via] View the full article

  22. The stream of collaborations between Dom Kennedy and TeeFlii runs deep and now the duo has returned once more to bless us with a few more tracks via TeeFlii's newest self-titled EP. The effort comes outfitted with 5 total tracks with Dom accompanying a total of four cuts while TeeFlii uses the opportunity to continue to flex his talents as a hitmaker, appropriately taking on the role of crooner this time around. The new outing serves as check-in from last year's Next Level album. This summer, TeeFlii, along with 2 Chainz and DJ Mustard, reached a settlement agreement over his debut "24 Hours" track from 2014. It was songwriters Allen Georgia, Sten Stonebridge, and Frederick McFarlane who originally accused the artists of ripping their 1993 song "Back It Up." Listen to the newest EP below. 23. Keyon Christ and Bibi Bourelly are well-known for their prolific work behind-the-scenes--Christ as a producer and Bourelly as a songwriter. This weekend, however, the two collide in the forefront to create Christ's newest "Booze Right" selection as Bourelly floats over Keyon's backdrop. To commemorate the track's arrival, Christ also hopped on Reddit to host a little AMA. Naturally, however, the bulk of the conversation focused on his relationship and work with Kanye West and the G.O.O.D. Music team. The recurring question would be surrounding the whereabouts of the reported project that Keyon Christ had in the works with Kanye West post-Life Of Pablo. "I guess it got trashed," he admitted. "I signed to the label and they told me I was producing six more songs that year. Also Kanye said he was releasing a few more albums that year so everyone was hype. They had just signed me, 070 Shake, Desiigner, etc. But things fell apart when Kanye had to take some time away and do some important self care which is understandable. Props to him for getting back to his self. But overall things changed drastically for the label after that and projects got trashed."
