  1. There has been a horrifying rise in the number of school shootings in the United States in recent years. When it was announced that XXXTentacion and Lil Wayne's song "School Shooters" would be getting a new music video, fans of the late Florida rapper were excited to see what would come of it. Despite his controversial past, XXXTentacion was outspoken in his fight against bullying in the months leading to his death. The Bad Vibes Forever cut has officially been granted a video release, directed by Elf Rivera, and it is dedicated to all those who lost their lives in the Parkland shooting. "School Shooters" begins with a message for Anthony Borges and the seventeen victims of the shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School. A photo of XXXTentacion with Borges is shown before the video begins, showing a bullying scene in the school bathroom. A gang of boys makes fun of a teenager who voices that he is fed up with them constantly picking on him. The short film features terrifying scenes of children running for their lives, police combatting the situation with gunfire of their own, and Lil Wayne rapping on top of a cop car. It ends with an important message about the effects of bullying. Watch the video above. View the full article
  2. When Hot 97 asked Kanye West fans what the best release from the "G.O.O.D. Fridays" era was, one song was mentioned far more than the others: "Christian Dior Denim Flow." Arguably the most memorable track from Kanye West's string of free single releases on his website, "Christian Dior Denim Flow" remains one of the legend's best songs ever. With some of the craziest lines about models, sex, and designer clothing, Kanye West truly blossomed on the record. But he was not alone. The track, which was never officially released on streaming services, features guest appearances from Kid Cudi, John Legend, Pusha-T, Lloyd Banks, and Ryan Leslie. It includes a truly stand-out portion from Kid Cudi, who finishes the cut perfectly. The near seven-minute-long banger has some fantastic quotables from all of the artists involved, but West himself delivered the bar of his life when he uttered the following: "I told her I’m tryin' to eat out, so what we goin' to dinner for?" Re-visit one of the best G.O.O.D. Fridays releases below and pray that this ends up on streaming services sooner rather than later. Quotable Lyrics: Miami nights, on the search for some T and A Tryin' to hide what’s obvious to see in me We conversate a bit about your DNA And my salmon-colored suit from the VMAs Oh, you was watchin'? Who the fuck wasn’t? Me skip across that stage in five dozen Yuuugh! Six grand for a minute's time Italian Vogue styled a n***a for a minute-rhyme View the full article
  3. Rudy Gobert went from being one of the best defensive players in the NBA to the biggest laughing stock, in a matter of days. It all started when he decided to not take the Coronavirus seriously and touched a bunch of microphones during a press conference. Just a couple of days later, he tested positive for the virus. The next day, Donovan Mitchell tested positive as well. Gobert's diagnosis led to the immediate shut down of the NBA and sports leagues around the world. Simply put, he was the man who started it all. Ever since Mitchell's diagnosis, there have been rumors that he is extremely upset with Gobert and that the two have a bad relationship. It is unclear who had the virus first but Mitchell feels like Gobert was too reckless. According to The Athletic, things are so bad that a source in the Jazz organization is calling their relationship unsalvageable. This is horrible news for Jazz fans when you consider how the team was doing quite well before this whole scandal. The Jazz could have been a darkhorse team in the Western Conference but if their chemistry is ruined, perhaps we could see Gobert traded away from the team. Stay tuned for updates on this story as we will be sure to bring them to you. [Via] View the full article

  5. President Donald Trump said that he wanted to re-open the economy before Easter and look where that got us... Not only are things just continuing to get worse, but now it is being reported that New York officially has more cases of the novel coronavirus than any country in the world. In case you aren't yet convinced that the United States' response to the COVID-19 pandemic has been unacceptably slow, this should do it for you. As reported by the BBC, New York has now reported more cases of the coronavirus than anywhere else in the world, including Italy, China, Spain, and other countries. Jumping up 10,000 cases on Thursday (April 9), the state of New York has a total of 159,937 confirmed cases of the virus, which is more than Spain and Italy. The United States as a whole has 462,000 total cases and 16,500 deaths. John Moore/Getty Images 7,000 deaths have been reported in New York, which is less than countries that have been struggling to contain the virus. However, the state has been experiencing record-high days in terms of the number of deaths this week, meaning that they could end up surpassing Spain and Italy soon. Mayor Bill de Blasio previously said that he expects half of New York to become infected with the coronavirus. Hopefully, things slow down before that point. Stay safe. [via] View the full article
  6. When Vince McMahon announced the return of the XFL, people were incredibly skeptical. Eventually, once the league started, fans came around and began to believe in what McMahon was selling. The first few weeks of the XFL were incredibly entertaining and the whole thing was a good time. Then came the Coronavirus. Once it became clear that the league needed to shut down, they opted to completely cancel their season with the promise they would be back next year. Well, it seems like the XFL could be done for good following the decision that was made today. According to Konnor Fulk, every single league employee was laid off today and the league has suspended all operations. The employees were alerted to this during a conference call and there was no word on whether the league would come back and the employees could get their jobs back. This is disappointing news for a lot of people. Of course, the fans suffer, the players suffer, but more importantly, the employees who depended on the league for their income, will have to look elsewhere during a time where no one is hiring new workers. The Coronavirus continues to be a sad reality for people around the world and hopefully, we can squad it soon so people can get back to their normal lives. View the full article
  7. One of Flavor Flav's baby mothers, Kate Gammell, fired back at Wendy Williams' accusations that the Flavor Flav merch she's been selling to help take care of their son is not authentic. Earlier this week, Kate, who is the mother of Flav's nine-month-old baby, Jordan, announced that she'll be selling T-shirts, hats, and various other items with Flav's name on them in order to cover the cost of her son's "everyday needs" since she is "not getting any child support." Kate filed a paternity lawsuit against Flav back in October and had a DNA test to determine if he was in fact Jordan's father, which came back positive. However, since Flav hasn't been supporting her financially, she decided to sell his merch that she acquired back when she was his manager. Wendy Williams addressed the situation on her at-home edition of The Wendy Williams Show on Thursday (April 9th). Wendy asserted that the merchandise was not authentic and claimed that Kate was "taking advantage of someone who was less smart at the time." Kate proceeded to call out Wendy on Instagram for lying about her on her show. She disputed Wendy's remarks and explained why she's selling the merch at a discounted rate and where all the proceeds will be going. "@wendyshow, on today’s show you brought up that the Flavor Flav merchandise I am selling is not authentic," Kate wrote. "I have no idea where you came up with this. Flavor was very much involved in the choice of the colors and designs. See the above screenshot posts from @flavorflavoffical where he is promoting the merchandise. The merch was produced and is now being sold under a licensing agreement between Flavor and me. Under the agreement, he is to receive a percentage of sales, but because he owes me money, to reduce his debt to me, I am withholding his share which will go to Jordan with a percentage to Children’s Hospital." Frazer Harrison/Getty Images for The Recording Academy "I am selling the merch at a reduced price because of the country’s current crisis and many people are out of work," she continued. "Another reason is that I need to recoup some of my costs for Jordan’s care since I am not receiving child support. I will not even break even for the money I put into his merch as some of the hoodies cost almost $30 wholesale. I just hope now that your comments do not sabotage my efforts to provide for my son and give to Children’s Hospital." "Also, regarding Jordan, @wendyshow you said I took advantage of Flavor 'who was less than smart at the time.' Where on earth did you come up with that?" she asked. "Flavor is very aware of everything he does. Anyone that knows Flavor and me would find this to be absurd. You should have mentioned, as @hiphopdx reported, that Flavor owes me $50,000, which he refuses to pay and that he is fighting having to pay child support. So, who is taking advantage of who? So, @wendyshow, I am just trying to provide for my son where his father refuses to step up to the plate." [Via] View the full article

  17. Her style may have been heavily influenced by the late singer Aaliyah when she was growing up, but Bia has created her own lane. The rapper's star has been rising for quite some time, especially after she was signed to Pharrell Williams's i am OTHER record label. However, her career came to a bit of a standstill in the years to follow after she was shelved. Now that she's able to spread her wings, we've seen much more of the Massachusetts native. Russ added Bia to his single "Best on Earth," a hit song that not only introduced Bia to a larger audience but also received a co-sign from Rihanna. "I would say that was one of the best days for me of my career," the rapper told HipHopDX. "Because Rihanna, she is one of my favorite people in the world. And to have a co-sign like that from a peer, it already means a lot. But to have co-sign, like that from your favorite person. Like one of the people that you look to for inspiration or one of the people that you feel like set the bar. It was overwhelming for me. It just hit different." Bia calls herself a "real student of rap" who studies the styles and flows of those to be considered icons as well as her peers. "When it comes to rap and flow, I’ve always been heavy on rap. I’m a flow type of person," Bia added. "I love Big Sean’s flow. I love Nicki Minaj. She influenced me a lot. I love Bankroll Fresh. Bankroll Fresh to this day is one of my favorite rappers of all time. People ask me, 'Who was my biggest inspiration?' They always think it was Big Sean and I always tell people it was Bankroll Fresh. I’m a real student of rap. I just love rap. I love music. I’m onto sh*t at least a year or two before it pops." 18. Fans were curious as to whether or not Usher would issue a response to The Weeknd's recent remarks. The After Hours hitmaker is the cover star for Variety's latest issue. Inside, The Weeknd talked about his latest album and the rise of his career that began after he made waves with his 2011 mixtape, House of Balloons. One year later, Usher shared his single "Climax," a track that The Weeknd says mirrored his talents. Theo Wargo / Staff / Getty Images “I heard ‘Climax,’ that Usher song, and was like, ‘Holy f—, that’s a Weeknd song'" he told the publication. "It was very flattering, and I knew I was doing something right, but I also got angry. But the older I got, I realized it’s a good thing.” That was a bold statement to make about the R&B veteran and fans were divided while discussing The Weeknd's comments. Instead of clapping back, Usher decided to kick off a "#ClimaxChallenge." The singer took to his Instagram Story to share a video of himself singing his track while also highlighting other vocalists who wanted to give their take on his sexy single. Not everyone could hit those high notes like the R&B icon, but they did their best. Check out a clip of Usher along with the music video for "Climax" below. 19. Healthcare workers are on the frontlines of this COVID-19 pandemic, exposing themselves to a virus that has been deadly for tens of thousands of people worldwide. As people complain about being bored while stuck quarantined inside, "essential workers" like medical staff, food service workers, mail carriers, and others are allowed, and somewhat required, to interact with the public. According to a report by Detroit's ABC 7 Action News, the Motor City has been hit hard by coronavirus after nearly 700 Henry Ford Health System workers tested positive. WPA Pool / Pool / Getty Images “When you are talking about testing positive in the midst of this pandemic... if we are to test the whole population, you are going to see staggering numbers of people who are testing positive,” said Dr. Adnan Munkarah with Henry Ford. “We need to remember that testing positive is just a measure of how contagious this virus is at the present time.” Rapper Jeezy took to his Instagram to share a screenshot of a news report regarding the staggering numbers for Henry Ford Health System. "Praying for Detroit... We gotta to stay inside and be safe," he wrote in the caption. "Not put the same people trying keep us safe in harms way. These are mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers. They have families too." Check out his post below. [via] View the full article

  22. The Barbz are known to fiercely defend their queen whenever people talk about Nicki Minaj and her personal life. The rapper has been a target for criticisms following her marriage to newlywed husband Kennth "Zoo" Petty. People have had much to say about his controversial past, including his prison stint for manslaughter and being a registered sex offender. Comedian Godfrey sat down with Vlad TV recently and discussed the hip hop couple, including saying he could have had a chance with Nicki if she's out here hooking up with men with such scandalous past histories. Vlad and Godfrey joked about Nicki's relationship and Vlad added that right after Nicki and Safaree Samuels broke up, he sat down with the Love & Hip Hop New York star. Vlad asserted that Nicki is a verbally abusive partner and "a lot has to be said when it's the female that has control of all the money as opposed to the man." The pair also talked about Kenneth Petty being fitted with designer clothes and expensive items, all purchases that they say are made by Nicki to make her man look good. "He doesn't have a job," Vlad said. "His job is to have sex with Nicki Minaj." Godfrey added that Safaree is "and artist" and "ain't no punk" so Nicki was "challenging his manhood [and] nobody wants that kind of sh*t." However, Godfrey assumed that Kenneth doesn't have aspirations because he's with an international superstar. Check out their clip below. View the full article
  23. Many people may find themselves bored during this quarantine, but others are struggling to maintain. Whether they're facing mental health issues or dealing with steps in recovery from addictions, being under lockdown is a mountain that many can't climb on their own. Red Table Talk discussed a few of these topics with Adrienne Banfield-Jones, mother to Jada Pinkett-Smith and grandmother to Willow Smith. Adrienne was once again candid about her past drug addiction and shared how she's been coping during this COVID-19 quarantine. "As some of you may know, Gammy was a heroin addict and has been in recovery now for...how long?" Jada asked her mother. Adrienne replied, "Twenty-nine years. I celebrated 29 years in December so I'm in my 30th year... It's been a long time since I've had to rely on going to meetings daily. The quarantine, believe it or not, actually put me back into going to meetings." She may be decades into her recovery, but that doesn't mean that Adrienne doesn't have a support system. She shared that her sponsor contacted her just in case this quarantine was a stressor and told her about online gatherings. "I went to my old homegroup back in Baltimore. I'm telling you, it was such a good feeling," she said. Jada also chatted with Entertainment Tonight about her mother's recovery. "She just has some really veteran, useful tips in regards to how to stay clean, how to stay connected, and what to do. ...It's like I always tell people, 'Never judge the journey you've been on because once you get through on the other side, you're gonna have so much to offer other people who are going through it as you once had." 25. Since making an impact in 2018, Thutmose made rounds with opening slots on Billie Eilish's tour, appearing on the soundtrack for Spider-Man: Into The Spider Verse, and recently collaborating with artists like Rema, Tory Lanez, Becky G, and Keke Palmer. With the wide range of artist that he's collaborated with, he's shown his ability to smoothly transition from one genre to another without sounding contrived. Today, he returns with his latest single, "Fashionably Late." Using a spacey and atmospheric beat as his backdrop, Thutmose dives into his vices as the worlds of fashion and lust intertwine with each other. Though it follows the afrobeats infused single, "Love In The Morning," the Nigerian influences still seep into his latest song but far more subtly. Putting his own spin of the merge of R&B and hip-hop, Thutmose's latest record is another glimpse into what he has in store.
