  1. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie once declared himself to be the king of his city, sparking speculation that he was staking his claim for the coveted and oft-debated New York throne. Yet A Boogie confirmed that he wasn't quite ready to don the crown -- at least, not yet. And while he isn't always the first name that springs to mind, few can deny that his numbers are as impressive as any top tier Big Apple rapper. Already boasting twenty-eight gold and platinum plaques to his name, his mainstream appeal is simply impossible to deny. Jerod Harris/Getty Images What's more impressive is the fact that A Boogie's numbers only continue to grow. Over the past few days, the RIAA has officially confirmed the arrival of eight new platinum plaques, bringing his total tally to an impressive thirty-six. By the latest count, "Demons And Angels," "Artist," "Swervin," "Beast Mode," "Drowning," "Still Think About You," "Lool Back At It," and the PNB Rock & Kodak Black collabo "Horses" have all hit platinum status. Of those, a few are simply upgrades. "Horses" and "Still Think About You" are now double platinum. "Look Back At It" and "Swervin" are quadruple platinum. "Drowning" with Kodak Black is quintuple platinum. For anyone doubting whether or not A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie is one of hip-hop's most commercially viable names, look no further than the insane statistics. Congratulations to A Boogie for his latest batch of plaques, and sound off -- do you think he deserves deeper consideration for the "King Of New York" title? View the full article
  2. Over the course of the last 35 years, the Air Jordan 1 High OG has cemented itself as one of the best sneakers ever created. There is a very good reason for this as the shoe has a gorgeous high-top silhouette that offers a design that lends itself well to a multitude of colorways. Every single year, Jumpman comes through with a plethora of new offerings for the shoe, and every single one seems to be a huge hit amongst sneakerheads. The latest to be teased is the Air Jordan 1 High OG in "Dark Mocha" which was clearly inspired by the Travis Scott collab from May of last year. Today, Nike released some official looks at the shoe, which can be found below. As you can see, the upper of the sneaker is made with white leather while the overlays and Nike swoosh are black. From there, we have brown suede on the back heel to bring the entire look together. Overall, it's one of those colorways that is certainly going to excite fans, especially those who missed out on the Travis Scott release. These are slated to drop on October 31st for $170 USD so keep your eyes peeled to your local store as the release approaches. Image via Nike Image via Nike View the full article

  6. A lavish birthday celebration ended with shots being fired, but that hasn't stopped Moneybagg Yo and Ari Fletcher from enjoying their time together. Yesterday (September 22), Moneybagg Yo turned 29-years-old, and as many others do, he gathered a few of his nearest and dearest for a Las Vegas party. Photos and videos of the get-together made their way through social media, as did the news that there was a shooting at the event. Moneybagg came forward to say that he wasn't the intended target, and after the buzz about the controversy dissipated, his girlfriend Ari Fletcher returned to Instagram to declare her love for the Memphis native. "Thank you for loving me, correcting me when I’m wrong, never letting me quit when I wanna give up, being a man of your word, making me a priority when I know you got a million things on your plate, always being protective and making sure I’m okay," Ari wrote in a post dedicated to her boyfriend. "I see how hard you work everyday and how much you do for everybody else. You a king, you deserve it all gang." To prove her words, Ari gifted her man with a new Maybach. Moneybagg replied by posting two black heart emojis in Ari's comments. Check out Ari Fletcher's post below. View the full article
  7. A romance that many wrote off as a rebound has spelled true love for Machine Gun Kelly. During the quarantine, the rapper went public with his relationship with actress Megan Fox after it was announced that she split from her husband of 10 years, actor Brian Austin Green. Some teased Machine Gun Kelly as Green hinted that he and his wife could possibly reunite in the future, but for the rapper, meeting Megan Fox was love at first sight. In a recent interview with Howard Stern, MGK expounded on his love for Fox. "I didn't know [love at first sight] until me and her made eye contact," he said. "That's when I was like, 'Whoa.'" He added, "After I made... the big chunk of the album, I did fall in love for the first time. It was my first experience with being open to love and stuff like that. I definitely wasn't set up to believe that that's something that could ever exist." Machine Gun Kelly also said that if he and Megan ever tie the knot, best friend Pete Davidson would be his best man. One thing the rapper isn't used to is the media attention and he's still uncomfortable with being followed. "It's kinda hard... my house isn't gated, you know? So that's the one problem. Everyone knows where my house is, so it's like this odd moment, where I was kinda living my life super normal and the next day, there were paparazzi outside my house every day." 8. Social media users may have been able to breathe a sigh of relief after President Donald Trump's TikTok ban was lifted at the last minute, but it's only been delayed. The Chinese-owned app boasts approximately 800 billion active users to date, making it one of the most popular social media platforms in the world. The fate of the app is unclear as American buyers are still vying for ownership, and President Trump has stated that on September 27, he will bar TikTok from app stores. Cindy Ord / Staff / Getty Images President Trump called TikTok a threat to national security without explaining how he has come to that conclusion. TikTok executives have filed a preliminary injunction to stop Trump from banning the app, citing that his motivation stems from “political considerations relating to the upcoming general election.” “There is simply no genuine emergency here that would justify the government’s precipitous actions,” said TikTok. “And there is no plausible reason to insist the prohibitions be enforced immediately.” The Department of Justice responded and stated that an emergency ruling is "unnecessary and unwarranted.” The ban will keep new users from downloading TikTok while existing users will no longer be able to update the app. Parties are set to appear in court on Thursday (September 25) morning. 9. Halloween is just around the corner and you know what that means... an overload of horror-themed series and films are about to hit our favorite streaming services, including the brand new Haunting Of Bly Manor. While this is set to tell a new story, it's produced by the same people who made The Haunting Of Hill House, which was a major success for Netflix. The creepy anthology took us into Hill House, introducing us to some truly terrifying monsters, including the bent-neck lady and countless others. The show also dealt with addiction, the dynamic of a large family, and more. The "sequel" is about to grace us and, although we're moving to a new house, there will still be plenty of scares. The trailer has officially been released for The Haunting Of Bly Manor, which appears to include a prominent role for Oliver Jackson-Cohen, who played the adult version of Luke in Hill House, and appearances from Henry Thomas, who played the patriarch of the family. The plot remains pretty vague in the trailer but one thing is for sure, it looks pretty creepy. T'Nia Miller, Rahul Kohli, and Tahirah Sharif have all joined the series as newcomers. The Haunting Of Bly Manor is set to premiere on Netflix on October 9. Will you be watching? View the full article
  10. News of the indictment against Louisville officer Brett Hankison has caused discord throughout the United States as thousands take to the streets in protest. It has been expected that Louisville, Kentucky would see disgruntled citizens gather together as a press release yesterday (September 22) stated that the city would be enforcing a curfew and would have the National Guard patrolling the streets. Still, defiant residents have vocalized their ire in Louisville, and it's now being reported that two officers have been shot. Drew Angerer / Staff / Getty Images Initial reports stated that one officer was injured, but news has been updated to say that two police officers were shot and wounded. The status of the officers and the severity of their injuries has not yet been shared at the time of this publication. Max Gersh, a photographer working for The Courier Journal, said he saw "a line of officers move toward a gas station with rifles up. Shortly after, they had somebody pinned to the ground and cuffed." It's also being reported that along with protesters, there is a heavily armed, White, far-right militia named the National Patriotic Defense Team who are also marching through the streets of Louisville. This comes weeks after two Los Angeles sheriff's deputies were ambushed and shot while sitting in their patrol vehicle. [via][via] View the full article
  11. Say what you will about staying at home, but it's undeniably better when you have something to watch. Luckily, International funnyman and routinely shirtless stand-up comedian, Bert Kreischer, seeks to do just that. He's already generating some buzz with the release of the trailer for his new docuseries with Netflix, The Cabin with Bert Kreischer. The series is set to follow Kreischer as he steps away from the stage to enjoy some laughs in the wilderness. Of course, it comes with an expectable combination of events in the realm of camping: drinking, sitting by a campfire, axe throwing with Caitlyn Jenner. You know, the usual stuff. While Kreischer may be best known for his humorous takes on mundane issues, he shows no signs of hesitation on recruiting A-list celebrities to keep him company while he explores the unknown. Additional slated guests include Kaley Cuoco, Anthony Anderson, Tom Segura, and Gabriel Iglesias. Netflix’s two-minute tease of the five-episode series indicates there will be an abundance of memorable interactions to captivate viewers as Kreischer leads this “business retreat” so to speak, with his pop-culture peers. Among the moments shared in part are group conversations, wherein Kreischer muses on more serious topics of failure, life motivation, and the desire for approval. The hinted blend of comedy and camaraderie may serve to form an expansion of Kreischer’s brand into something mildly folksier, letting him fall deeper into the diverse hearts of viewers quarantined at home with little to do but sympathize and laugh. The Cabin with Bert Kreischer is set to exclusively air on Netflix, starting October 13th. [via] View the full article
  12. A few simple photos have caused people to question the relationship between Armani Caesar and YFN Lucci. The First Lady of the Griselda collective has been making a name for herself, especially after dropping her anticipated debut effort The Liz just days ago. The project has been applauded in hip hop circles, and as a rising fem-cee, people have been quick to link Armani Caesar to one of her fellow artists. Recently, Armani shared a few photos to Instagram that showed her sitting in bed with Atlanta rapper YFN Lucci. Fans haven't heard of Lucci being romantically tied to anyone since his on-again-off-again romance with Lil Wayne's daughter Reginae Carter was officially over. After rumors spread that Armani Caesar and Lucci were cuffed up, she took to Twitter to debunk the gossip. "I'm single relax," Armani tweeted. She followed things up was another post, this time with a racy video that showed her in lingerie in a red-lit room straddling Lucci. He stars as her love interest in her upcoming music video for "Palm Angels" that is set to premiere tomorrow (September 24). Check out the sexy shot below. View the full article
  13. The response to the grand jury's decision in the case of the police officers involved in the shooting death of Breonna Taylor has been overwhelming. On Wednesday (September 23), it was announced that only one of the three officers involved was indicted on charges related to the event. Brett Hankison was charged with a count of wanton endangerment for shooting into Breonna's neighbor's home during the no-knock warrant search that ended the 26-year-old EMT's life. Jon Cherry / Stringer / Getty Images Tens of thousands of people have responded on social media and thousands have already begun protesting in their prospective cities. Officers in Louisville, Kentucky where Breonna Taylor called home have already lined the streets in riot gear as they enforce a curfew. Daniel Cameron, the Attorney General of Kentucky, spoke out about the charge against Hankison and said there won't be any others raised against the other officers as he assured the public that the investigation into Breonna Taylor's death was thorough. Colin Kaepernick, like many others, took to Twitter to share his frustrations with the grand jury's decision. "The white supremacist institution of policing that stole Breonna Taylor’s life from us must be abolished for the safety and well being of our people," the former sports star and activist wrote. "#BreonnaTaylor #SayHerName #AbolishThePolice." The topic of abolishing the police or defunding the police has been a much-argued topic throughout 2020. Kaepernick's polarizing tweet has already caused a hailstorm but considering his previous statements, it doesn't come as a surprise. View the full article
  14. This year is moving by quickly as we approach the last week of September, and it's hard to believe that we're crawling into Grammy-voting season. To help with the countdown, Rolling Stone is chatting with artists who have a good chance at receiving a nod for the 2021 event, including DaBaby. The rapper took over the summer months with his Roddy Ricch-assisted, No. 1 single "Rockstar," and DaBaby is ready for his Grammy-winning moment after being nominated last year. He may not have taken home the 2020 trophy, but the rapper told Rolling Stone that he's been talking about holding a Grammy award since the launch of his career. The North Carolina icon also discussed the criticisms about his music sounding the same and shared whether or not he feels pressured to switch things up. "The fact of the matter is, I’ve been making records like that since before the first record," said DaBaby. "I’d been making crossover records, diverse records. With this being my third album in 12 months, I thought at that point fans would be ready. At the end of the day, they take it in how they take it in. I’ve never been afraid to jump in the water. If there’s a style of music I can take it to, I’ll do that. I want to push the envelope and grow as an artist. Now, whether or not the fans are ready to grow with me, that’s something I have to find out in hindsight. They don’t know what they need till you give it to ’em." If you're sick of hearing from DaBaby, an artist who has released multiple projects in the span of a year, he said he has no plans to slow down anytime soon. "Some people wait because they have to. Fortunately enough, I wasn’t put in that position. I had the green light, and everything I’ve dropped was hot. If I didn’t put out new music, there wouldn’t be 'Rockstar.' I’d still be trying to beat out 'Suge.'" [via] View the full article
  15. After teasing her much-talked-about memoir for months, Mariah Carey will sit down with Oprah Winfrey to discuss her book, The Meaning of Mariah Carey. The celebrated diva is relatively private about her personal life, but there have been rumors that she plans on sharing the good, bad, and ugly of her life. Last month, rumors began to spread about Eminem being "stressed" about what Mariah Carey would say about him in her memoir, but it seems farfetched that anything could place the Detroit emcee on edge. Tomorrow (September 24), Oprah and Mariah's chat will take place on Apple TV+ for The Oprah Conversation and as they cover never-before-heard stories that the singer shares in her memoir. During the interview, Oprah asks Mariah Carey about her romance with baseball icon Derek Jeter, whom she met while still married to Tommy Mottola. "He got his own song, he got a few songs," Mariah said of penning tracks for Jeter. "He was a catalyst that helped me get out of that relationship because I believed that there was somebody else." "Honestly, I don't think it was like, oh my god, he was the love of my life," Mariah explained. "At the time I did, because I didn't think I would ever meet anybody who wouldn't, what's the word, not look down but feel superior to me because of the fact that I'm not one way or another in most people's minds and the preconceived notions. He was a catalyst and I think that it was beautiful and his family was a healthy family and they changed my viewpoint of, oh, it's the biracial situation of why my family is so screwed up. As opposed to [understanding] it's them." Mariah Carey also spoke about why she's decided to be so candid. "When there are people connected to you as a person that achieves a certain level of success, you are a target, you're vulnerable, but I wouldn't have gone here if things hadn't been done to me, if I hadn't been dragged by certain people and treated as an ATM machine with a wig on," the singer continues. "Like, all it is is [motions to make it rain] ... like, 'Let me get some money, and let me get some money no matter what.'" [via] View the full article

  20. Deviating from his regular time frame, California rapper Mozzy created his latest project quicker than usual. Typically, Mozzy spends upwards of a year working on an album, but he was able to craft his Occupational Hazard record in just one month. The Sacramento artist released his previous project, Beyond Bulletproof, back in May, and because he was inspired to return to his artistic roots, so he began thinking about how he would incorporate pieces of his old self into his current maturated state. “This is my favorite project to date out of all my EPs, mixtapes, albums. I had to get back to the old me, the Hellgang Mozzy, and bring people that heat that talks directly to the streets," said Mozzy. With Occupational Hazard, I want to let people know it's not always velvet or rainbows at the end of the tunnel. 21. The last few years of Megan Thee Stallion's career have launched the young artist into new heights. Along with her fame, Megan has faced tragedies, like losing her mother, to scandals, like her recent shooting altercation involving Tory Lanez. She has been entangled in legal battles with her label, 1501 Entertainment, and is often criticized for her style and explicit lyrics, but the Houston rapper continues to make a name for herself. Most recently, Megan Thee Stallion topped the charts by assisting Cardi B on "WAP," and now the 25-year-old star celebrates her inclusion on TIME's annual "100 Most Influential People" list. Inside the magazine, actress Taraji P. Henson penned Megan Thee Stallion's entry. "I remember hearing Megan Thee Stallion on one of those famous DJ radio shows a few years ago. She rode the beat like I’d never heard anybody ride the beat in a long time,” wrote Henson. "There was something about this woman. Once you discover her, you become a fan. I don’t like to put the stigma of the word strong on Black women because I think it dehumanizes us, but she has strength—strength through vulnerability." "She’s lost much of her family—her mother, her father, her grandmother—yet she is the epitome of tenacity, of pulling herself up by her bootstraps. She was shot this summer, and still people tried to tear her down. But she’s out here still loving and being sweet," said Henson. "She’s deep. She’s enrolled in college. She’s an entertainer. She’s a free spirit; I see that in her." On Instagram, Megan shared her TIME cover. "STILL I RISE YOUNG BLACK WOMAN FROM HOUSTON TEXAS ON THE COVER OF TIME MAGAZINE AS ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE IN THE WORLD," the rapper wrote in the caption. Check out the cover below. 22. She's a polarizing figure in the political arena as her opinions are often debated in pop culture. Candace Owens and her far-right ideologies aren't always welcomed in certain circles, causing her to be constantly criticized on social media and beyond. Recently, Owens released her book Blackout: How Black America Can Make Its Second Escape from the Democrat Plantation, and while it's all the rage among her fans, Owens claims that Amazon's employees have attempted to destroy her work. "Dear @amazon. About 1,000 people have written to let me know that your employees appear to be stomping on and in this case, smearing Vaseline on my books before mailing them," Candace Owens tweeted. "I know it must have pained you to ship out all 90,000 copies you had in stock— but this is unacceptable." Owens went on to share a few dissatisfied customers' books and added, "The pettiness will do nothing to thwart sales. Let’s try to get the next 100,000 that I plan to sell out of your warehouse, treated with a bit more respect by the looney lefties packing the product, please." Amazon has yet to respond to the allegations that they mishandled her products. Check out Owens's tweets along with a few images below. View the full article

Conway sat down for a virtual chat with Ebro in the Morning and was asked about his lyrics regarding music keeping him out of the line of trouble. "Buffalo, we went without a lot of resources an up and coming artist might need. So, these guys really took they last money and made studios. Not only was they just studios, but they was places where we could get out of the street and stay out of trouble. Music definitely saved my life." "If it wasn't for this sh*t, it ain't no telling what I'd be doing right now," Conway continued. Check out the rapper's interview below. View the full article
