  2. He's regularly shared his love for music, and finally, Vin Diesel has premiered his debut single. Earlier this year, the Fast & Furious star spoke with James Corden about his work in the studio. Diesel uses social media to give brief sneak peeks into his musical journey, but up until now, he hadn't delivered to the world an official release. There is an album on the way, but in the meantime, fans can listen to Vin Diesel's "Feel Like I Do," a track reportedly released on Norwegian DJ and producer Kygo's label. "I'm really lucky to have some original, great music," Vin said back in March. "Nothing in the world is better than seeing my four-year-old daughter walking around the house, singing these songs that she hears me play. It's the most beautiful thing in the world. Sometimes they can't see the movies I'm in... So, to be able to share that, there's nothing more beautiful than that." Check out Vin Diesel's dance track and let us know what you think. 3. It's expected that after Tory Lanez released his album Daystar where he addressed the July shooting incident involving Megan Thee Stallion, the news cycle would be keenly focused on this story once again. According to Tory, he's being set up by Megan's team and denies being the person responsible for her injuries, but now Complex has spoken to a "source" who says otherwise. The outlet shared the source's version of events. “When she gets out of the car and says, ‘I’m just going to walk home,’ he pulls out a gun and says, ‘Dance, b*tch,’ and he starts shooting her,” the person said. Megan previously stated that she lived not far from the mansion where she was hanging out with Kylie Jenner, Tory Lanez, and others. The source also alleged that after the incident, Tory offered Megan Thee Stallion and her best friend Kelsey Nicole hush money. “As she’s going into surgery, this maniac is texting her,” the source said. “He’s basically trying to say he’ll pay. Her friend is [also] getting calls to receive money. He was trying to keep her quiet.” Complex also stated that they've looked at Megan's hospital records and according to the publication, they co-sign her version of events. “This is not okay and it’s not funny and it’s not something that we can just normalize,” the source said of Tory's album Daystar. Lanez's team "categorically denies" the "dance b*tch" allegation. [via] View the full article
  4. The tit-for-tat continues between Rick Ross and Tory Lanez as Rozay responds to the Daystar artist. Things kicked off when Ross dissed Lanez's recent release and teased the Canadian artist with a social media video. Then, Tory Lanez acknowledged Rick Ross's mention and tweeted, "I respect u 2 much as a black man to disrespect you in these times, however, I went out and marched 9 DAYS STRAIT for Breonna Taylor ..IN YOUR CITY ...I didn’t see the 'boss' out there once ?...also stop tagging your endorsements in post about her. It’s a poor decision." Not to be outdone, Rozay returned with his reply. "First off, little boy, I appreciate how you responded swiftly to Rozay. That's how you should have did the sister that accused you of shooting her. That's what you owe her family. That's what you owed all the Black women in the world," Rick Ross said. "More importantly, let's get to you protesting. You ain't protest in Miami. Only reason you was out there is 'cause the condo that you stay in for $1,500 a month, damn protests was coming right down there so you went down and took a photo op. That's cool." "A 'poor decision' is putting together an album and trying to profit off some sh*t. People like myself was [waiting] for you to address this sh*t and move on. Not get a wack song of a wack album that ain't gon' get you no money nor no new supporters. So little boy, boss up." Check out Ross's video below. View the full article
  5. Following Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputy Alex Villanueva calling him out about his comments regarding police-involved violence, LeBron James has spoken out to defend himself. Earlier this month, two deputies were shot point-blank in an unprovoked altercation that took place in Compton, California. At a press conference, Villanueva specifically told LeBron James that he should match the reward money that was posted to help identify the person responsible for the shooting. Ethan Miller / Staff / Getty Images People were confused as to why Villanueva thought it was James's responsibility, and after not responding to the remarks, the Los Angeles Lakers star has acknowledged the comments after his game earlier this week. “Not one time have I ever said let’s act violent toward cops,” the sports icon said. “I just said what’s going on in our community is not OK. And we fear for that, and we fear for our lives. It’s something that we go through every single day as a Black man, a Black woman, and a Black kid and a Black girl, we fear that moment where we’re pulled over.” When asked if there was anything he wanted to personally say to Villanueva, Lebron James replied, “I have zero response on the sheriff.” [via] View the full article
  6. Divorce can be exceptionally difficult for children, but that can be magnified when the world sits as a captive audience. Months ago it was shared that Dr. Dre and his estranged wife Nicole Young were divorcing, and as time has moved forward, the headlines have shown that the separation has become contentious. There have been reports about disagreements over prenuptial contracts and it's said that Nicole is seeking $2 million per month in support. 50 Cent regularly weighs in on pop culture and he took to his Instagram to share a post about Dr. Dre's relationship woes—and it caught the attention of Dre and Nicole's daughter, Truly Young. Amy Sussman / Staff / Getty Images "These b*tches be crazy how do you even ask for 2 million a month," Fif captioned his photo of Dre, Nicole, and Truly. The message didn't sit well with the college student so she had a few choice words for 50 Cent. "Haha... coming from an ugly, washed up, early 2000s rapper who filed for bankruptcy and is only envious of my family's wealth and lifestyle. Have fun spending the rest of your savings on steroids. F*ck you," Truly wrote. She also took aim at Xzibit who commented "Wtf????" on 50 Cent's post. "Wow Alvin... After everything my parents have done for you and your family, this is how you respond to a picture of my parents and I, and a quote calling my mom and b*tch... f*ck you." Check out her posts below. 7. A British star has made headlines after he claimed cyberbullying ran him off of TikTok. Taio Cruz recently joined the mega-platform like over 800 billion others who actively use the social media app, but he claimed his experience wasn't a positive one. The award-winning artist is celebrated globally so it seemed as if his fans would open him to TikTok with open arms. However, Taio Cruz shared on Twitter that being on TikTok led to him having "suicidal thoughts." Ethan Miller / Staff / Getty Images "I am DEFINITELY NOT going back to TikTok anytime soon. My body was shaking and I had suicidal thoughts. I pride myself on being mentally resilient so the fact that I felt that way, shocked even me," Cruz wrote. "Some users posted hateful, mocking videos which spurred a feedback loop of negativity, where more and more people began to join in on the mockery and hate." Taio Cruz added that his only intention was to make funny videos, but after his mental health became affected by the hateful messages, he's chosen to exclude himself from the app. "Social media shouldn't be like this. Sadly, it is," he concluded at the end of his post. [via] View the full article
  8. Okay, so maybe Avengers: Endgame wasn’t quite the endgame after all. This, at least, is what fans are left to surmise with the latest announcement from Disney+ to Variety magazine today, confirming that prolific actor and Avengers alum, Samuel L. Jackson, will reprise his role in the franchise as Nick Fury. Though to be fair, the specifics of the show’s storyline have been kept under wraps in typical Disney/Marvel fashion, so we don’t know if the program will be a prequel or sequel. Nonetheless, it joins a slew of other Marvel spinoffs planned for the coming few years, including this year’s WandaVision and 2021’s Loki, and The Falcon and Winter Soldier. Executives have not publicly commented on the possibility of these programs overlapping, crossing over, or serving as accessories to one another. The untitled series remains without a release date but has garnered swift attention with sources claiming Jackson has agreed to star and writer Kyle Bradstreet has agreed to both write and executive produce. Bradstreet is a new addition to the creative team behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), as his most notable writing credits up to this point have been as a writer for Berlin Station, Copper, and Mr. Robot. Contrastingly, Jackson’s role in the MCU dates back to the 2008 release of Iron Man, with his debut of the character in the film’s post-credits scene serving as the starting point for his appearance in more than a half-dozen films in the universe. Jackson’s most recent appearance in the franchise as Nick Fury was SPOILER ALERT: in Spider-Man: Far From Home, where he was aboard a foreign spacecraft. [via] View the full article

  10. As the Verzuz phenomenon presses forward, artists who previously stated that they wouldn't participate are now open to the idea of showing face. The last Verzuz saw two icons, Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight, come together to perform some of their most beloved classics. The series has highlighted talent that spans generations as music is celebrated in real-time, and now Toni Braxton is reexamining her stance on appearing on the music series. Jesse Grant / Stringer / Getty Images Fans have been begging Toni Braxton to take part in Verzuz for months, and recently, the celebrated singer sat down with Missy Elliott for Interview where the two discussed their inclusion. Missy has openly stated that she wouldn't make an appearance, but during the conversation, she said she may do "Missy versus Misdemeanor." Braxton, on the other hand, named the artists she would agree to sit down with on Verzuz. “I’m like, ‘It would have to be me, Mariah [Carey] or Mary J. [Blige] or something. Us girls from the ’90s,'" Braxton shared that she reportedly told Swizz Beatz and Timbaland. “But no, I haven’t put it on the register to do it yet.” Do you think those would be fair match-ups for Toni Braxton? 11. When he was first arrested, YNW Melly assured his friends and fans that he would be free sometime soon. The young rapper even released an album while behind bars, but it's been months since we've received updates on his court case. According to new reports, it looks as if Melly will remain in custody until 2021 as news has surfaced that his next court date is scheduled for late January. YNW Melly stands accused of participating in the double homicide of two of his associates: Anthony Williams known as YNW Sakchaser and Christopher Thomas Jr. also known as YNW Juvy. Williams and Thomas were killed in October 2018 and prosecutors allege that Melly and his associate Cortlen Henry, known as YNW Bortlen, acted as co-conspirators. Meanwhile, Melly has maintained his innocence and after reportedly contracting COVID-19 while incarcerated, the rapper reportedly petitioned to be released on house arrest. Melly continues to be held without bond. In related news, last week a 43-year-old man connected to YNW Melly was shot three times because of his relationship with the rapper. An 18-year-old named Traveion Banks was arrested in connection with the shooting. [via][via] View the full article
  12. In 1994, the only thing anyone could talk about in the United States was the double murder case against football icon O.J. Simpson. His ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman were found brutally stabbed to death at her Brentwood home. Simpson became a prime suspect after allegations of domestic abuse arose, further substantiated by recorded police phone calls. While the case itself has been over for decades and Simpson was acquitted of those heinous charges, it continues to be one of the most memorable pop culture, true crime moments of our generation. On October 3, 1995, O.J. Simpson stood in a courtroom and learned that he had been found not guilty of two murders. To commemorate the anniversary, Investigation Discovery will air a two-hour documentary titled O.J. & Nicole: An American Tragedy. Reports state that Nicole's sister, Tanya, will personally read her Nicole's private notes and journals to a viewing audience—memoirs that allege over 60 incidents of domestic violence that Nicole endured at the hands of Simpson. These are notes that "weren't admissible" at O.J's 1995 trial. Additionally, investigators involved in the case will revisit the tragedy 26 years after the shocking incident occurred. Both Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman's families have maintained that they believe O.J. Simpson is responsible for the deaths of both parties. [via] View the full article

  17. DJ Khaled's Khaled Khaled has yet to land a release date, but we've already seen the first two singles the project has to offer in "Popstar" and "Greece." And while neither of the Drake-assisted tracks broke any particular boundaries, it's never a bad idea to line an album with Drizzy features when one is concerned about the sales numbers. Now, with his twelfth studio effort set to arrive at some point this year, Khaled continues to tease some Khaled Khaled's possible guest appearances -- including a potential collaboration with Jay-Z. Noel Vasquez/GC Images/Getty Images Taking to Instagram, DJ Khaled shared a picture of himself and Jay-Z in the studio, along with the caption "Shawn Carter Khaled Khaled." Now, it could be a simple case of Khaled highlighting their birth names -- but it could just as easily infer that Jay will be appearing on Khaled Khaled, as he has graced Khaled's previous albums with "Top Off," "Grateful," and "I Got The Keys." Given the track record, it's all but ensured that the Jigga Man will carry on the tradition. Again, this is purely speculative, based on off history and the usual outcome following two artists connecting in the studio. Provided a new Jay-Z and DJ Khaled collaboration does come to fruition, however, one has to wonder how it will sound. Given that both have come to emobdy that mogul life, it wouldn't be surprising to see that particular ground get covered -- though in reality, it could be nice to hear Jay-Z let loose a bit like he did on "I Got The Keys." 20. For the last few months, many have been demanding justice for Breonna Taylor, who was shot and killed by police while sleeping in her own apartment. Since her death, conflicting details have been reported surrounding the circumstances of what happened, however, it still remains clear that her death was unjust, regardless of any context. Yesterday, Lousiville police declared a state of emergency prior to it being announced that none of the officers involved, would be charged. This has already led to mass protests around the country, including in Louisville where two police officers were shot. Various athletes and celebrities have spoken out about the verdict and how it's a disturbing case of injustice, especially since so much effort was put into making sure the cops would be held accountable. Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz was one of those athletes as today, he took to Twitter with an emotional apology to Taylor. As Mitchell stated, he felt personally connected to the story as Louisville is like a home to him. He also noted that he wanted Taylor to get the justice she deserved, and he's ultimately sorry that the system failed her. Throughout their time in the NBA bubble, various NBA players have fought against systemic racism and with this latest verdict in mind, it's clear they will be continuing that fight for the foreseeable future. 21. After declaring a state of emergency in anticipation of a decision that was bound to be controversial, the city of Louisville has experienced turmoil that has only intensified following the announcement that only one out of three officers was charged in relation to the Breonna Taylor case and not for her death. Crowds quickly formed nationwide, with sizable groups of protesters in Los Angeles, New York, and Atlanta. In Louisville, tensions reached a boiling point after two police officers were shot in the midst of a heated standoff. Two LMPD officers were taken to hospital, with one entering surgery after being shot in the abdomen. The suspect, 26 year-old Larynzo Johnson, was quickly apprehended after "intentionally [using] a handgun to fire multiple bullets at officers" near the area of East Broadway and South Brook St in Louisville. In response to the shooting, police started declaring all other gatherings elsewhere in the city "unlawful assemblies" and threatened to arrest uncomplying protesters or subdue them with chemical weapons. Brett Carlsen/Getty Images Johnson reportedly has "no prior arrests for violent crimes or felony convictions." He was charged with two counts of first-degree assault on a police officer and fourteen counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. Ironically, he received the same charges filed against Brett Hankison, the sole charged officer in the case, for the shots he let out that failed to hit a target. [via] View the full article
  22. Earlier this week, Rolling Stone unveiled the revised edition of their massive 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time list, a gargantuan undertaking designed to highlight the best projects music has to offer. And while hip-hop remains rather underrepresented throughout, that's not to say its presence was not felt. In fact, many notable classics made the cut, including several stemming from the legendary Wu-Tang collective. Monica Schipper/Getty Image Today, Raekwon The Chef took a moment to acknowledge his appreciation for being included. As it happens, his timeless Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... locked in the 219th spot, a milestone he addressed with a proud post on Instagram. "OF ALL TIME !!!!!!!!!!" he declares, alongside a few screenshots from the publication's list. "Wow. Again! Much love to @rollingstone for still being on the top 500 albums of all time!!! (New Updated List) We got 4 on there y'all!!!" Aside from his own, Rolling Stone placed Ghostface Killah's Supreme Clientele at 403, GZA's Liquid Swords at 307, and the Wu-Tang Clan's own debut album Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) at 27. While The Clan's debut was one of the higher hip-hop albums to top the list, it didn't quite crack the top twenty. There, rap was represented by Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly, Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and Rolling Stone's pick for the best rap album of all time, Lauryn Hill's The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill. Check out Rae's message and sound off -- should the Wu-Tang albums have been placed higher on the list? View the full article
  23. Kanye West is certainly one of the most prolific men in all of Twitter, at least for right now. Whenever he goes on rants, they end up lasting for days and this time around, they have actually gone for a couple of weeks. Today, West has seemingly been focused on the world of Adidas and how he desperately wants them to give him a board seat. In fact, West stated that if he doesn't receive a board seat, he will continue to wear Jordans until they give him what he wants. More recently, Kanye explained exactly what he would do upon receiving this coveted board seat. Effectively, Kanye would like to bring the sneaker brands together. As he stated, he would do a collab between Nike and Adidas, which is certainly the unlikeliest sneaker collab we have ever heard of. "My first pillar when I’m on the board of adidas will be an adidas Nike collaboration to support community growth," West wrote. Of course, getting Nike and Adidas to collaborate probably isn't going to work out in his favor, as the new have already established their own unique lines and aesthetics. Regardless, you have to admire Kanye for trying to bring new ideas to the table. View the full article
  24. Detroit rapper Bandgang Jizzle P, also known as Bandgang AJ, has reportedly been confirmed dead after a shooting in the city. The rising rapper was reportedly shot and killed on Tuesday evening. Details are currently very limited but one of his associates, Bandgang Javar, spoke on the situation, tweeting: "I appreciate the love but i dont want sympathy i know what come with the territory, just respect Aj family." As reported by Vlad TV, there were reports of a homicide on Tuesday night, which killed one man and injured another. It's not clear whether that pertains to Bandgang Jizzle P's killing though. Some outlets are reporting that his shooting was captured on Instagram Live. That much has also not been confirmed. We will continue to keep you updated as more news is released regarding the murder of Bandgang Jizzle P. RIP. This news follows up the tragic death of FXXXXY. The Freebandz rapper, who was signed to Future, passed away following a routine medical procedure last week. With FXXXXY, Bandgang Jizzle P, and other rising rappers recently losing their lives, it continues to be a difficult ride for hip-hop fans, who are seemingly mourning artist after artist. 25. LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers may have a 2-1 series lead in the Western Conference Finals right now, although that doesn't mean they're happy with how everything has played out. When it comes to getting to the foul line, the Lakers feel as though there have been some discrepancies over the past two games, especially when it comes to LeBron. So far, James has only taken 10 free throws all series long, which is fairly bizarre given just how much he drives to the basket. While speaking to the media, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel admitted that the Lakers have filed a complaint with the league as they try to figure out exactly why the free-throw situation is the way it is right now. This is all in an effort to get more foul calls in the future. Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images “We’re dealing with the fouls through the proper channels with the league,” Vogel said. “I think he’s gone to the basket very aggressively, and I’ll just leave it at that.” It's important to note that in Game One of this series, the Lakers had a clear advantage when it came to getting to the line, which makes their recent protest look just a tad disingenuous. Either way, it will be interesting to see how this affects the officiating, moving forward. [Via] View the full article
