The song was originally from Jackson's Captain EO 3D film made in 1986. It was not intended to go on the Bad album, but producer Quincy Jones decided to replace the song "Street Walker" with it. It is the Sunday Night Band from a short lived television show called Sunday Night. You can find more information here. It was a pretty good show but when comes to jazz music nothing seems to last on television. When VH1 was created it was created for the more mature crowd and on Sunday mornings they featured a number of jazz and world artists. That to was short lived. :(
