via Rihanna Instagram Rihanna is set to appear on an upcoming episode of "Oprah's Next Chapter" and the two ladies caught up with each other in Barbados over the weekend. Oprah tweeted pictures of the two leaving a resort on the island, writing, "@rihanna and I finishing up interview. What a refreshing surprise she is!" while Rihanna followed up by captioning a picture of them in an SUV, writing, "Look who popped up in my Hometown BARBADOS #topnotch." Rihanna appeared on Winfrey's talk show back in January 2010, where she performed Bob Marley's classic "Redemption Song" to benefit the victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Oprah also dedicated an entire episode of her talk show to the issue of domestic violence one year before in March 2009. The episode was in part inspired by the 2009 assault of Rihanna by then-boyfriend Chris Brown. While Ri didn't appear on the episode, Winfrey did have a message for young women who find themselves in abusive relationships. "If you go back with a man who hits you, it's because you don't think you're worthy of being with a man who won't," Winfrey said during the episode. "I've said before, 'Love doesn't hurt, and if a man hits you once, he will hit you again.' The UK student has since fought a looming extradition to the US, but thus far without success. In March, Home Secretary Theresa May officially approved the extradition request from US authorities. In June the case was once again brought to the attention of the mainstream press when Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales [url="http://torrentfreak.com/wikipedia-founder-protests-extradition-of-pirating-uk-student-120624/"]launched a petition[/url] to stop the extradition. According to Wales, Richard O’Dwyer is a victim of the entertainment industry’s attempt to censor and control the Internet. The MPAA were not amused with the campaign and behind the scenes began to brief movie industry insiders on how to respond. In a leaked memo obtained by TorrentFreak we see how the group lists “basic talking points” and background on the case for “reporter briefing.” The memo starts by framing TV-Shack as a pirate website through which O’Dwyer made a healthy profit. “Richard O’Dwyer created TVShack.net, offering thousands of stolen movies and other pirated content to viewers in violation of both U.S. and U.K. law. In fact, O’Dwyer actively advertised the amount of money users would save by illegally streaming content via TVShack rather than by acquiring it legitimately. At the same time, he profited handsomely from advertizing on the site.” The claim of O’Dwyer supporters that Internet freedom is at stake is nonsense according to the MPAA. “This case isn’t about Internet freedom. It’s about a man profiting from theft. However, we do welcome a larger discussion about how best to protect intellectual property online while ensuring an Internet that works for everyone.” Taking it a step further, the MPAA claims that the movie industry is one of the main beneficiaries of “freedom of speech and expression,” which copyright law helps to protect. “Copyright law is a tool to protect the work of creators and makers, not censorship. The motion picture industry wouldn’t exist without freedom of speech and expression, which have been among our ‘time-honored’ core values for over a hundred years.” The memo then discusses some background on the case, with a fictitious Q&A with a reporter. The first question asks for a response to the Jimmy Wales petition, and the answer is clear. “We think it’s presumptuous of Mr. Wales to claim to speak for the ‘general public.’ That’s because the ‘general public’ includes the hundreds of thousands of creators and makers who create and make the compelling entertainment and content that virtually all of us enjoy on a daily basis. Their hard work deserves to be protected.” “We don’t believe in unlimited copyright, as Mr. Wales suggests. We do believe, deeply, that our values don’t change just because technology improves. And that people’s values don’t change whether we are online or off.” The memo then goes on to describe how the TV-Shack website worked and what O’Dwyer’s role was. The MPAA sees O’Dwyer as more than just a middleman, mentions how he continued after ICE seized the domain name, and points out that the operator of a similar website was [url="http://torrentfreak.com/surfthechannel-owner-found-guilty-of-conspiracy-to-defraud-120627/"]recently convicted[/url] in the UK. “O’Dwyer was not a mere ‘middleman.’ He knowingly set up a site with the purpose of acting as a clearinghouse for infringing content – he advertised his site as a place to find movies that were still in theatres and in-season tv shows. He profited heavily from this activity. Not only did the Chef talk about his mindset in creating his classic solo debut, he also surprised us by announcing that he will be adding another chapter to the series with Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt. III. "I know that, at the end of the day, people are paying attention to The Three, and my thing is when I give them The Three, I wanna give you The Three and I'm gonna give it to you at the level you can respect it," Rae told MTV News confirming that the LP will come before 2014. "I just want people to be open and understanding that he is concerned with us wanting to have Three, and at the same times, he gonna do other things to impress the masses as well." Before he drops the long-awaited third installment to the Cuban Linx series, Rae says he will drop another project equally as powerful. When Rae dropped the original OB4CL on August 1, 1995, his group, the Wu-Tang Clan, was already taking the world by storm with their kung-fu-themed rap standouts. With Cuban Linx, the Chef took the Wu's already familiar sound and added a mafioso twist by crafting a cinematic crime narrative throughout the course of the 18-track opus. Before the LP was released, Raekwon knew he had an album that would resonate with rap fans everywhere, even if the people at his label did not. "When I made that album I had so many visions for it; I was a super-visionary," he told MTV News over the phone on Wednesday. "I would try to create everything to prove to the world, to prove to my company that this album is classic; it's ahead of its time." Not everyone was a believer. "I remember a lot of times people didn't understand that I was a dreamer on the level that I was with this project. And to be able to know that it attacked the world in the great way that it did and that it's legendary, all I can remember is telling people 'I told you so, I told you so.' ... I told them then it was a classic." With songs like the sinister-sounding "Criminology" or the dramatic "Glaciers of Ice," Rae, along with the album's co-star Ghostface Killah, left a rap blueprint that would inspire future generations of MCs. Even R&B superstar Chris Brown paid homage, first at the 2012 MTV VMAs when he danced to Wu-Tang Clan's "Protect Ya Neck" and then again in June when he performed on "The Today Show" wearing the Polo brand Snow Beach pullover which Rae made famous in the Clan's 1993 "Can It All be So Simple" music video. "I love that kid Chris Brown for that. He just really been showin' his Wu support forever to me," Chef said. Though Rae has released a number of highly regarded LPs, Cuban Linx, or The Purple Tape as fans have so affectionately dubbed it, remains his crown jewel. It's been quite the eventful season of VH1's "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta," and the upcoming reunion special won't disappoint. According to singer K. Michelle, the experience was definitely a draining one. "People were really emotional," K. Michelle told MTV News, describing the atmosphere on set and admitting that it was difficult to watch the old footage with everyone present. After watching the season again, is there anything the R&B singer wishes she'd done differently? "I don't like to regret things, but I wish I could've gotten my point across better than yelling it," she admitted, pointing specifically to her beef with fellow entertainer Karlie Redd. "The whole Karlie situation, it's just so not important, but if it's in your life at that point, it looks like it is. It was very difficult sitting there and watching reactions and seeing people's faces on the stage — it's a lot, but all in all, it was a great show, and I feel like a lot did get accomplished from the show." No matter how over-the-top the drama may seem on TV, K. Michelle maintained that everything you see is as it happens. "I don't think it's amplified; it honestly goes on," she said of the conflict. "With me and Karlie Redd, nothing was put together. ... I guess she was intimidated by her lack of vocals, and she was just kind of picking and consistently bothering me. So I don't think anything's forced. It does happen, people are emotional, this is their life. Even with Mimi and Joseline — that's real. I'm friends with Mimi, I see her very hurt." The Cool Kids MC linked up with Mac Miller and Casey Veggies on his new track “Great” to illustrate the point. "'Great' is one of my favorite tracks off the project," Sir Michael Rocks told MTV News of the track that appears on his newly released mixtape, Lap of Lux. "We made this track all together in Chicago a little while ago when Mac was on tour with Casey." The track, which was produced by the Taylor Gang's Cardo, finds Mikey, Mac and Casey talking to the ladies in a most peculiar way. While in the studio, the three MCs — who rate their dates on a scale of 1 through 10 — all agreed that while a 10 may sound appealing, dealing with a woman who they designate as an 8 is the way to go. "After 9's, they start getting a little uppity, and you gotta start watching out for a bunch of different things," Mikey said, explaining the song's concept. "When you start dealing with the 10's, you start dealing with a lot of maintenance, a lot of requirements, but I think at the level we at right now, a strong 8, that's probably the most level you want to deal with so you can have fun." Lap of Lux is an important step in the career of Mikey Rocks, who got his start as one-half of the Chicago duo the Cool Kids. Though the album was most recently expected to debut in September, the Atlanta rapper said he refuses to rush the process. "Me being the perfectionist that I am, I'm still tweaking and fine-tuning, trying to perfect all parts of this project," Tip told MTV News, confirming that the album won't be complete for another few months. "I did, like, 124 songs, and I've narrowed it down to 86 now, so now I have to continue to narrow down and continue to make it better. "I'm not trying to paint myself into a corner with a date," he added. "I'm trying to make sure that the project is the absolute best it could be, and I'm trying to get it down by the end of the year." From those 86 options, T.I. is hoping to whittle his track list down to 14 or 15 tracks that will create a uniform project. In the meantime, he's promoting his recurring role on the Starz series "Boss" and keeping an open dialog about a tour with the entire Grand Hustle team. "That's a very likely possibility," he said of heading out on the road with B.o.B, Iggy Azalea and crew.
