After the Pittsburgh MC made history becoming the first indie artist to debut with a #1 album in 16 years with Blue Slide Park, you’d think he’d be feeling a bit of pressure while prepping LP #2, but nope. "Making history was awesome; I don't care about that with this album. I don't care if we go #1, I don't care about selling records," Miller told MTV News from his tour bus before performing at New York's Jones Beach on August 2. "That sh-- is awesome, but this album, I just need to do something different." The LP doesn't have a name just yet and isn't slated to drop until early 2013, but Mac is knee-deep into the project. He will continue recording it in the coming months and narrow down a solid track list. "I have, like, 22 records that could be on an album right now. Obviously, I can't make it that long, because with the youth and their A.D.D. problem," he said, laughing. The entire industry took notice after Miller sold 144,000 copies of his debut album in its first week of release last November. Without the aid of radio, Mac was able to drum up excitement for his LP by touring and pushing singles like "Frick Park Market" and "Party on Fifth Ave." online. After his #1 spot was solidified, Mac checked in with "RapFix Live" via Skype. "It's crazy. I've been trying to take it all in," Miller told host Sway Calloway last year. "I've just been in constant motion, so I haven't gotten a chance to really stop and realize how crazy this is that we got the first #1 in 16 years. It's nuts, man." In the middle of last week government investigators arrived at ColoCall, Demonoid’s webhost, to shut Demonoid down. “Investigators have copied all the information from the servers Demonoid and sealed them,” an anonymous ColoCall source confirmed to local news site Kommersant. With the dust settling today, the sequence of events is becoming a little more clear. ColoCall Commercial Director Peter Vlasenko has now confirmed that his company had repeatedly warned Demonoid of complaints being made against it. He added that the company had also cautioned Demonoid’s operators that problems could lead to the ISP severing its relationship with the site. Last week, that’s exactly what happened. “The Division of Economic Crimes [DEC] received an international request from Interpol to send a request to the company ColoCall. DEC sent the request to the provider, after which the ISP decided to stop working with Demonoid,” [url="http://www.kommersant.ua/doc/19967"]said[/url] Sergei Burlakov of Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs. But the bad news for Demonoid doesn’t end there. The Interpol request that finally forced the closure of the site was the result of call from thousands of miles away in North America. “In Mexico a criminal case against the owners of Demonoid has been initiated and the tracker is charged with intellectual property rights violations,” Burlakov confirmed. Demonoid’s links to Mexico have been rumored for some time, but it was action taken last year that finally gave them credibility. TorrentFreak learned that in October 2011, Mexican authorities carried out a raid in Monterrey, the capital city of the northeastern Mexican state of Nuevo León. The prime target was one of Demonoid’s staff. Following the action the authorities completely blocked access to the site in Mexico. Movie industry sources confirmed to TorrentFreak that the raids had indeed resulted in the arrest of one of Demonoid’s administrators. If you let Kellz tell it, with the emergence of new spitters like Maybach Music’s Rockie Fresh, King L and Cheif Keef, his hometown is in good hands. "I feel really good that Chief Keef and all of those guys, those guys are from my hood, so I'm definitely proud of the fact that finally Chicago has got the light on 'em," Kells told MTV News when he paid us a visit in July. Thanks to his breakout track "I Don't Like" and its sensational viral video, Chief Keef has emerged as rap's most sought-after rookie of 2012 thus far. Both Birdman and T.I. put in bids to sign the teenage spitter and Kanye West reached out to do a high-powered, G.O.O.D. Music remix to his buzzing track. In June, Keef revealed to MTV News that he signed his deal with Interscope Records, but he isn't the only Chi-Town newbie to ink with a major. In July, Rockie Fresh signed with Rick Ross and his Maybach Music Group label and King L (formerly known as King Louie) inked-up with Epic Records. Lil Durk and Lil Reese also hit the majors this spring when they signed with Def Jam Records. Kim Dotcom has been giving evidence in the Auckland High Court today. The hearing, which is scheduled to run for three days, follows on from a [url="http://torrentfreak.com/megaupload-search-warrants-ruled-illegal-by-high-court-120628/"]court ruling[/url] in June that found the search warrants used to conduct the January raid against the Megaupload founder’s home were invalid. This week his lawyers will argue that the raid was unreasonable. Dotcom told the court that at the time of the raid he was in bed installing a Windows update on his computer. Dotcom said he heard a helicopter outside and thought it may have been some guests arriving for his birthday celebrations. However, he realized that something was wrong when the downdraft of the helicopter’s rotors started kicking up stones onto the glass of his Coatesville mansion. After hearing banging on his door, Dotcom said he fled to a pre-arranged safe room in the house. He stayed in this “red room” until police arrived. “I heard loud banging noises. I was just scared and worried. I thought I’d better wait for them to come to me rather than popping out and scaring someone who might shoot me,” he [url="http://www.stuff.co.nz/technology/digital-living/7429534/Kim-Dotcom-takes-the-stand-over-raids"]said[/url]. Dotcom said he had access to a firearm in the “red room” but in the interests of safety and to simply ward off would-be attackers rather inflicting more permanent damage, the first two rounds in the gun were rubber bullets. Dotcom denied allegations he refused to cooperate with police and told the court that he had his arms in a “surrender” position when the police entered the room. Apparently that passive attitude didn’t help. “And then they were all over me. I had a punch to the face, boots kicking me down to the floor, a knee to the ribs. One man was standing on my hand,” he said, added that he was then pushed to the floor and his wrists cable-tied. “It was really tight. I was screaming,” he said. Dotcom told the court that the force used was completely unnecessary and if only the police had asked he would have complied straight away. “If someone had knocked on the door and said they had a document with charges I would have let them in,” he [url="http://www.nbr.co.nz/article/dotcom-police-raid-under-scrutiny-court-ca-125265"]said[/url]. The hearing, which is due to last until Thursday, will also hear from New Zealand’s Special Tactics Group, the elite [url="http://torrentfreak.com/elite-anti-terror-police-went-after-megauploads-kim-dotcom-120207/"]anti-terror force[/url] that carried out the raid against the Dotcom mansion. Kim Dotcom and his alleged co-conspirators were due to appear in court on August 6 in an extradition hearing scheduled to last 3 weeks. If you've waited all season for Stevie J to get what was inevitably coming to him, then it was episode 8 of "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" that you needed to see. When singing didn't fix things up in his relationship with Mimi, the producer decided that therapy was the way to go, but when Joseline joined him and Mimi for a session, things got ugly quickly. Punches were thrown and there were no regrets. The punches happened to be thrown by Joseline, who had no trouble attempting to beat Stevie J to a pulp. This fight in particular began when Stevie made the decision to wipe sweat off Joseline's nose--with Mimi sitting on the other side of him--causing the doctor to call him passive aggressive. For the first time, this seems to suggest to Joseline that Stevie might want to continue his relationship with Mimi...and she loses it. “You guys living together?” she asks Mimi and Stevie, somewhat in disbelief. Not only did the Philadelphia spitter put out hit records, Big Willie also navigated his way through Hollywood proving that there is life after rap. "I named my mixtape The New Fresh Prince first and foremost, obviously, to pay homage to Will Smith, who came from West Philly," Tone Trump told Mixtape Daily of his latest offering. In May, Tone made headlines when he signed with Young Jeezy's CTE record label, and while the Snowman may be his favorite rapper, it's rapper-turned-actor Will Smith who motivated Trump to get his money up with this new tape. "He inspired me a lot to turn my empire into a billion-dollar empire like he did, and he let me know it's true," he said of the rapper, who has made unforgettable rap hits like "Parents Just Don't Understand" and "Summertime" alongside his partner DJ Jazzy Jeff and starred in blockbuster movies like "Independence Day" and "Men in Black." Though The New Fresh Prince is much more aggressive than any of the lighthearted hip-hop material that Big Willie has ever released, Tone Trump draws a correlation mainly due to his ambition and the fact that he and Smith both hail from the same part of the city.
