  1. Pretty snazzy little java applet... Unfortunately you have to use the keyboard and it is in a tiny wndow. Still, it works pretty well and is great for people that know not of ROMS.
  2. Cursive is a fun band... I was going to see them on the Curiosa tour... but Robert Smith had a family member that was ill, so they cancelled the tour on the date I had purchased :( BTW... I think that "Domestica" is a better album by them... The strings are a little overwhelming on the Ugly Organ, from time to time.
  3. ooooooh... Ken, I never expected this from you... this is quite telling. I respect all life and want everything that is born to be respected, but I believe that everything gestating inside a person is their individual responsibility. That is the cool thing about being pro-choice... I would not kill an unborn fetus, but that does not preclude others from doing so. Life is an abstract thing... even when we are alive, some people are not living. Honestly, I would not encourage another to do so, but that does not give myself the ability to take away another's right to terminate their pregnancy before the lifeform is born. Basically, I believe people have rights over their own bodies. I do not have the right to say a fetus should die or not. I do not have the right to say what they ingest, inhale etc. is wrong or right... What is a fetus? Is it really alive? If it could not live outside of the womb is it living? If it could is it? I have this convo with my wife and I realize there is quite a bit of grey... but I am not the one to define this issue. Each person is the definer of their reality. The law is even abstract. I believe that an entity that could live outside of the womb if disconnected with the mother is alive, but if a person has extenuating circumstances, this can change... I believe in compassion Ken. We are all human and should try to help each other out... it is really not black and white.
  4. the answer may be yes Ken... BTW... I was meaning atavistic like HST would use... If you read anything he writes, he always uses "atavistic," "fear and loathing" and "shitrain." It seems as if I do mock outrage, I must call a person atavistic, or it just isn't genuine. File it under "homage."
  5. I was using atavistic in a Hunter Thompson sort of way... basically that it was a throwback... like cavemanesque. Think of the definition referring to a discarded trait that has reintroduced itself into the genetic sequence, but in a social way (I realize this is quite similar to a regression in programming). People often take being a vegetarian (I am an ova-lacto one... i am not really that hardcore about that, again, I am anti-death and it is more of a philosophical choice - I am a bit nihilistic and think that if I put no value in some life it nullifies all life and that everything - even my own life - has no meaning) as being weak. I just thought I would post something aggressive, such as people do when they are faced with those that don't eat meat, But not in a fanatical/PETA/animal liberation sort of way. I like to tweak things on occasion. Koop... I wasn't really aiming at you. I just post to challenge people's beliefs from time to time... but there really aren't enough people here to really shock, outrage and cause this to perpetuate into the future. What is truth? Isn't it different from person to person? I realize I don't consider myself a vegetarian, since I hate the gut-reaction by people to their pre-conceived notions. i am not that person... I wish that people weren't always what I expected. As i said, I don't really care if people eat meat. I do not partake in the consumption, and I think it is nice that some car company that sells luxury vehicles gives consumers a choice.
  6. I think this is awesome. Why should people have no choice in their vehicle interior? Cowhide is difficult to clean and easily destroyed. Why would you want this? Not to mention the senseless slaughter of animals for their flesh. I am a hardcore vegetarian (I am hardcore in reasoning--I don't care if you eat meat... I don't care if most people live or die)... I don't eat animals because what is to keep me from eating humans too? Some of them are far less intelligent than animals (look above for examples), and I just don't really see the difference between killing an animal or a member of an animal from your own species... in both cases something is dead... something has been taken away that neither your Gods nor science cannot give back. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see people dead or kill people... far from that idea. I don't think either should be killed. I think there is a natural balance that man has thrown aside for something artificial and unsustainable. What I want is to shock people into seeing that their assumptions and beliefs about different things are small. There is so much beyond what people hold as true, and much truth beyond what is seen explicitly apparent. I await the inevitable atavistic response that will come from the ignorant and close-minded.
  7. I am reading "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe... very good... but too much Resident Evil 4 to have finished it in a timely manner.
  8. I have heard it; it is pretty good, but not better than many other indie groups that are around nowadays....
  9. tools (and not the powered kind)
  10. Thank you very much all! I had a splendid birthday (although I had to work) filled with cheer. My birthday was just what I needed... laid back and fun.
  11. Right there, the liberals would have my vote.
  12. Notbob... how dare you forget how on September 11th the US was attacked by the Iraqi government... wait... people linked to Iraq.... oh... never mind... some religious fundamentalists with no links whatsoever to Iraq. I am impressed (or perhaps dismayed) by the power of the illusion that that whole thing that happened a few years ago was linked to the Iraqi government and the current administration's attempt at making Al Qaeda/Iraq functionally equivalent... perhaps not as impressed as horrifed by this insane idea working. Terrorism will never be solved by waging a war--only through understanding and dialogue. I like to call 911 the day the terrorists won.
  13. I think the first guy was using the area-code... that is the way it is done yo. I represent the 206... freewaywise... I am very near I-5...

    Irony

Google Adsense working wonders I see... BTW... I thought that irony died on 9/11
  15. Happy Birthday man... I hope that you get laid, and, if you choose to drink, be responsible and safe!

    punk

I like the minutemen, Husker Du and the Clash (as well as other things...).
  17. I have heard the spud... and she has a sexy, refined manner of speech. She does not sound like Jesse Ventura, whom I assume all Minnesotans speak in a manner similar to for some reason. BTW... at the Grand Canyon, this person from Texas commented that I had an awesome accent and wondered where I was from... I replied Seattle, but my wife and I joked (later--behind her back of course)that we have no accent and speak pure, untarnished English. I realized the proper response would have been, "the accent, person that sounds like a caricature, is 'well-spoken without accent.'" :P
  18. Happy Birthday you cleaner of demons you! Take a day off! Let the demons clean themselves. Perhaps, if you feel so inclined, get laid. Kick back and read some fine literature whilst sipping on a delicious coffee beverage (or another fine form of liquid refreshment... perhaps pink lemonade). Have a superb day CTC. I hope that I look as good at 99 as you do.
  19. You answered "yes" to 35 of 50 questions, making you 30.0% sexually pure (70.0% sexually corrupt); that is, you are 30.0% pure in the sex domain. Your Weirdness Factor (AKA Uniqueness Factor) is 45%, based on a comparison of your test results with 140739 other submissions for this test. The phrasing of some of these questions allowed me to answer them as "yes" even though I have technically not done so (i.e. 'teach' and 'fox' lol).
  20. I am going on vacation for about three weeks on Monday. I am spending the fourth cleaning and packing. BTW... if anyone cares, I am going on a National Parks Tour of the West... I am going to about 10 Nat'l Parks and my in-laws... pretty exciting eh?
  21. Every time I see the damned commercial it makes me excited... Then again, I have a policy of never purchasing anything I see a commercial for unless I actually need it and have researched it somewhat. I fight the oppression of the media! That dance is still off the hook.
  22. I enjoy your posting... keep it up. I was just being playful while making light of my sporadic posting style. I am never able to post all that often...
  23. I concur with the spammer (my God, two days and you are near the amount of posts I have made in two months... shame!). Edit... oh wait... 4 months :(
