What Kind Music Did You Listen To In 2003?
Lord_of_the_Dense replied to method77's topic in Kickin' it
Metal....as was the year before, as will be this year, and the years to follow until my elderly ears cannot handle it anymore. Then I'll prolly switch to elevator music. psychofun -
You left out the "Who cares?" Not that I don't...i just don't prefer any of the choices. I have 2 of Creed's albums, but if they were to stop recording or if Mr. Stapp really passed on, I could live with it. I couldn't say the same about Layne Staley. I was so bummed out about that. I played AIC all day long. psychofun

I really think it's not necessary. For some, it can be a welcome relief to the angst-ridden music they normally subject themselves to. On the other hand, sometimes listening to it makes us relish what we prefer even more. I don't personally run into the stuff enough to bother me. I WISH the places I worked at had music in the elevators. psychofun

Oh you can nail it....I would definitely nail it ;) That was pretty damn cool. psychofun

Actually, that just might make them sound better. psychofun

(just finished listening to it) I don't know why anyone would skip this. It's a great song to follow Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. The guitar work sounds totally cool. And the wah-wah sound is awesome too, volleying with Ozzy's voice. I will say that the one tempo change is kinda weak...they had a good thing going without the fruity thing before it gets hard again. Other than that, a true classic. psychofun

I had never seen it before until today. It was pretty damn good and actually done to a decent Metallica song. The download does, in fact, take a while though, even on a T-1.

Lawsuit Filed In Super Bowl Boob Caper
Lord_of_the_Dense replied to Kooperman's topic in General News
Stupid bitch: Woman Drops Lawsuit Over Jackson's Stunt KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Less than a week after filing a class-action lawsuit because of her outrage over Janet Jackson (news)'s Super Bowl stunt, Terri Carlin believes she's made her point. The Knoxville banker is withdrawing the suit filed last Wednesday in U.S. District Court against Jackson and Justin Timberlake (news), along with MTV, CBS and their parent company, Viacom. The lawsuit had sought billions of dollars in compensatory and punitive damages. Carlin alleged that she and others who watched the show during the Super Bowl were injured by the performers' lewd actions when Timberlake tore off part of Jackson's costume, exposing her right breast. The notice of dismissal filed in federal court says Carlin wants to see if "remedial measures" announced by federal regulators and the companies involved succeed in preventing similar stunts. Carlin and attorney Wayne A. Ritchie II, who filed the lawsuit on behalf of Carlin and has represented her for free, have received phone calls and mail from hundreds of supportive parents from across the country who wanted to be included in the suit, the notice states. In the lawsuit filed on behalf of "all Americans," Carlin charged that Jackson's exposure and "sexually explicit conduct" by other performers during the halftime show injured viewers. Jackson apologized for the incident, saying a red lace garment was supposed to remain over her breast when an outer garment was ripped away. Source: Yahoo News psychofun -

Off the top of my head, I would have to say Leather Leone of the band Chastain. This is one woman who can sing metal. The guitarist, David T. Chastain, aside from being known in this band had previously been in a project called CJSS. He had also done several solo projects which are all great.

I have Drain S.T.H.'s Freak of Nature album, and personally, I have to agree that they are much heavier than Kittie. I think Kittie is more along the lines of L7 or 7 Year Bitch, more punk-like or grungy. When you hear Drain, you hear metal. psychofun

Pantera is great also. I saw them live in Germany in '94 I believe. Show kicked ass. I have all of the albums and I would have to say that Far Beyond Driven is my favorite. :psychofun:
