  1. My first albums that I actually personally chose to buy were Kiss - Dynasty and Foreigner - 4. I got them both from a swap meet shortly after moving into a new home. I recall my parents being disapproving b/c the faces of Kiss on the album looked evil or satanic. I recall that the first song, "I Was Made For Lovin' You" was scratched, but I loved it anyways. I would sing it with the scratch. It is the only album I've had in LP, cassette, & CD. As far as cassette goes, I think my parents gave me an Elton John album. Something with a song that had "paradise" in the title. I don't know what possessed them to buy EJ for me. I never asked for it. Guess they figured it was better than Knights In Satan's Service. lol And finally, I think the first CD I received was Kiss - Music from The Elder. I don't know how I acquired it, but I know it was a couple years before I even got a CD player. Aside from the EJ reference, Kiss and Foreigner were the bands I grew up with and basically started me on my path to Rock & Roll. I still enjoy both bands to this day.
  2. Megadeth is a favored topic of mine. I actually considered Dave (Mustaine) god for a while. I was introduced to Megadeth with the "Peace Sells..." album and have been with them ever since. One of the greatest albums that they put out was Rust in Peace. The addition of Marty Friedman was badly needed. A truly great guitarist. The two following albums, Countdown to Extinction and Youthanasia were also brilliant. Cryptic Writings was decent and Risk took a turn for the worse, especially the song "Breadline." 2001's The World Needs A Hero was a decent return and now the band is no more. Dave, however, states that he will be back in the music scene. I hope that whatever project he does, be it Megadeth or other, is better than his M.D. 45 project. It may be old-school, but there is plenty out there right now that cannot touch Megadeth. Dave's voice is unique and, much like Metallica, they had their days of brutality. Whether you want to call it selling-out, or just maturing, they are still a band to reckon with. psychofun
  3. Cool deal. Good luck with that. And we'll be the first ones to know the new, soon-to-be-famous, record label!
  4. I've seen it on ZP ever since I joined that site. (ok, well maybe not that long). Last week I received an IM there cordially inviting me to check it out. That's what I've been doing. To provide a twist to this question, how did BeatFactory find this site and if he created it, what was the motivation?
  5. These may be a run for the money... Peter Pan Sabrina
  6. 298.1..Oh well X-mas is over so the big man lost weight and didn't cruise as far.
  7. Is that the best question you have?
  8. Why you gotta post a weak, cliche question, man?
  9. I have heard of this band before, though not the music. I keep thinking Soulfly for some reason.
  10. I actually do not like the Beatles, soon to be Beatle. They never did anything for me. I shudder at the idea of falling into the hype of their heyday. For the most part, I do not understand it all. But that must be due to my not being born at that time in history. Based on my musical perference, I most likely will never accept them as a great band, regardless of what history has shown. But I am also one who does not believe the hype, along with a lot of other things.
  11. This was a great album too. I would say that any lover of the rock in the 70's should have this in their collection. It took me a while, but I got it.
  12. A great album in my opinion. Future albums were great, but every track on this one meant something. It stood for the late eighties. I really hope they can match the thunder of this album when/if they ever release a new album. One of their new guitarists, Buckethead (seriously, he wears a KFC bucket on his head and what looks like a Michael Myers mask on his face), is a very skilled guitarist, although a bit odd.
  13. Yes, I have yet to add this album to my collection. Definitely some amazing stuff from this band. I joined them late. I picked up The Division Bell and enjoyed it very much. But the classic songs off this album I know well. Will have to make it a point this year to get.
  14. Score: 157 131-160 - You're enjoying life to the max.
