  1. Sorry to be contrary, but I think it sounds terrible. Worst song on the album. Disturbed needs to stop doing covers. They destroyed "Land of Confusion" also. Not that either of these original songs were great to begin with, but if I had to hear them, I'd prefer the original artists.
  2. NASHVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Gibson Guitar, the world's premier musical instrument manufacturer and leader in music technology announced today the limited availability of the world's first guitar with robotic technology, the Gibson Robot Guitar. True to the spirit of innovation that inspired Gibson to invent the legendary Tune-o-matic bridge, the powerful humbucker and the revolutionary HD.6X Pro digital Les Paul guitar, the Gibson Robot Guitar is set to make music industry history. The Gibson Robot Guitar eliminates tuning problems for guitarists. It automatically tunes to standard A440 tuning. It also allows players to access six commonly used altered tuning presets at the push of a button. These tunings were used on many well know hit songs, giving players easy access for the very first time. The Gibson Robot Guitar allows the guitar to be intonated in seconds after string changes, truss rod adjustments or change in weather conditions. Finally, with the locking tuner, single string changes or changing the entire set of strings are an automated breeze. The system consists of five high technology components which are extremely light and do not change the instrument in any way. A control knob (which also serves at the volume knob) enables the tuning with a simple push or pull. Each tuner is equipped with specialized servo motors. As the motorized tuners adjust the pitch of the strings they are monitored by means of a Tune-Control Bridge. Read entire story here.
  3. MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - A scooter-riding Mickey Rourke was arrested Thursday on suspicion of driving under the influence. Rourke, star of "Sin City," "Diner" and "9 1/2 Weeks," was arrested at 4:20 a.m. and booked at the Miami-Dade County Jail, said Janelle Hall, a jail spokeswoman. He was released on a $1,000 bond, she said. A telephone message left at the office of Rourke's agent wasn't immediately returned. A Miami Beach Police report said Rourke made a U-turn with a red light and then swerved several times while on a green scooter. He had a flushed face and bloodshot, watery eyes, his speech was slurred, and he had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, the report said. Read entire story here.
  4. NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Reuters) - Honky-tonk baritone Hank Thompson, the "King of Western Swing" who churned out a string of top 10 country hits during a decades-long career, has died at 82, his family said on Wednesday. Thompson's death was announced by his wife on Thompson's Web site, which carried a notice that he died on Tuesday in the Fort Worth, Texas, area where he lived. He had been treated recently for lung cancer. Thompson got his first break in 1948 when fellow singer Tex Ritter got him a contract with Capitol Records and he immediately began turning out hits. 5. Check out Vol. 1 Wow. Where do I start? I appreciate you humouring me with this sentiment. But it is taking so much for me to restrain myself from challenging this individual to an online debate let alone a major virtual ass-kicking for displaying what he thinks is an in-depth knowledge of metal. I thank you for opening my eyes to this eye/ear sore. I'm sure your intent for a thread was not the same as where I plan on taking this. My musings: This guy has a deliberate thing out for Megadeth. If asked, I wouldn't be surprised if he said he created it solely on the fact that he believed Megadeth sounds like Megadeth (whooda thunk?) OK, so I was biting my tongue at 20 seconds into the first installment of this series. MEGADETH NEVER MADE A SONG CALLED "ONE THING" IN 1997!! It's not on thier official website and it sure as hell isn't in my collection. "Mechanix" sounds like "The Four Horsemen" because it IS "The Four Horsemen!" It was a demo that Dave Mustaine helped write before he was kicked out of the band. The song was rewritten. Dave also had credit writing several other songs from Kill 'Em All along with "The Call of Ktulu" and the title track of Ride the Lightning. The creator of these videos should be shot for comparing Megadeth to Nelson. Since when...I mean how...or better yet....WTFH!!! Chicago...Metal??? Yeah, there are some strong similarities but there are several slight similarities. Not enough to warrant a series on it. This is a severe case of "HEY....LOOK WHAT I CAN DO!!!!" Believe it or not, it's these subtle differences that keep the music from being exact duplicates of other music. But you know what, they went and did something amazing. They created a term for these similarities. It's called a GENRE!! Oh my dearest Santa Puppy Jesus...this guy's created 9 or more in the series! I'm not going to even bother. All this coming from an alleged 22 year old, too. Touche, Sir Dude. This was indeed a challenge to bear. NEXT WEEK: Music that sounds like Music!
  6. Absolutely. You have several answers at ZP also.
  7. http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1784622 I didn't know if this was embeddable. I'm not currently in-beddable. :(
  8. Hey, you never know...it could have been our Hunter. He's been MIA as of late.
  9. Heavier stylings??! Is this writer a complete moron? S&M was grand. Everything from the Black Album and earlier was heavy. Everything from Load on was gay. I agree, bmc. Very hard indeed.
  10. Are these sticks deleteable? May not be worth it for the price, but I do like the freedom to chose.
  11. I'm an hour north of the northermost fire(s). No smoke has reached us, but we're also in a bowl on the opposite side of a major mountain pass that separates us from Castaic/Santa Clarita.
  12. So I gather that Ziggy has precedence on the larger stories of the main page? Someone posted a story after Ziggy did, but only Ziggy's stories are shown. I, Robot, anyone?
  13. Happy Birthday dude! (bmc, tell him we need more CKY news..lol)
  14. Actually he has about 3 singles out (I've heard them) and I believe there's a video on his site for one. I may have posted it someplace here.
  15. Or the simple misinterpretation that she had sex with her son.
  16. Who's to say that if there is life there, they are way ahead of us? They may have spotted us light years ago and are halfway here to visit/destroy us.
  17. Thanks, you guys. Always nice to know I'll be getting a warm response here. Thanks for being the peeps you are.
  18. I prefer the dark. Looks fresh.
  19. Kiefer Sutherland charged with DUI LOS ANGELES - Kiefer Sutherland, already on probation for a 2004 drunken driving arrest, was charged Friday with misdemeanor driving under the influence in a case the city attorney's office said could put him in jail for more than a year. The star of the Fox TV drama "24" was charged with single counts of driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or above, said city attorney spokesman Nick Velasquez. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of a year in jail and a minimum of four days, Velasquez said. "We also charged him with a second DUI offense within 10 years, which we believe also violates the terms of his probation," Velasquez added. Read entire story here.
