  2. Most pets need psychiatric help; we just don't know about it.
  3. I just saw a rap artist murder the "longer, harder, faster, better, bigger, uncut" song of theirs.
  4. "I'm sorry sir, but if you don't have a ticket, you cannot board the (inside of) the plane."
  5. Not one of their best (too redundant), but listenable. I enjoy most of the other stuff.
  6. LOS ANGELES - Kiefer Sutherland had a bad 24 hours. The dashing star of the TV drama "24" was arrested for investigation of misdemeanor drunken driving early Tuesday while still on probation from a similar 2004 conviction. Sutherland, 40, failed a field sobriety test after he was stopped for making an illegal U-turn in West Los Angeles shortly after 1 a.m., police spokesman Kevin Maiberger said. Sutherland tested over the state's legal blood alcohol limit of .08 percent, Officer Karen Smith said. Police declined to reveal the level. Read entire story here.
  7. Oh it's gonna pain you... Don't check the mail Thursday.
  8. I think we need to form a Dead Performer's Society. Not the literal sense, but you know what I mean.
  9. Didn't even think about it again until I saw this thread. It came back to my original skin. Yay.
  10. I'll admit it's got a funky groove and my inner soul man gets jiggy at times.
  11. Unbelievable. I don't think I can possibly wait that long.
  12. I've got BeatKing Beta in green at the top and the boards are stuck on the basic Invision skin. It sucks.
  13. NEW YORK - Hey, ho, let's go ... to court. A drummer who spent four years in one of the greatest punk bands of all time, the Ramones, filed a federal lawsuit Friday claiming he is owed nearly $1 million in royalties on songs sold over the Internet. Richard "Richie Ramone" Reinhardt, who performed with the Ramones between 1983 and 1987, sued Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Apple Inc., RealNetworks Inc., the band's management and the estate of its lead guitarist, claiming he had never fully signed over the rights to the six songs he wrote for the group. Specifically, Reinhardt said there was never any written deal authorizing the sale of those songs digitally. He said he is owed at least $900,000 in royalties, and asked the court to issue an injunction preventing further use of his compositions without permission. Read entire story here.
  14. LOS ANGELES - Alice Ghostley, the Tony Award-winning actress best known on television for playing Esmeralda on "Bewitched" and Bernice on "Designing Women," has died. She was 81. Ghostley died Friday at her home in Studio City after a long battle with colon cancer and a series of strokes, longtime friend Jim Pinkston said. Ghostley made her Broadway debut in "Leonard Sillman's New Faces of 1952." She received critical acclaim for singing "The Boston Beguine," which became her signature song. Read entire story here.
  15. You're absolutely right. It would almost seem like you're calling me serious and ornery. I hereby reserve that right for Redneck4sure. Michael Jackson's not black.
  16. Wow, I'm glad you actually wrote this instead of asking in person. Kinda hard to start an argument anyways if you have to run to work. But I appreciate your extreme need to respond in your pre-work haste. Sally can blather her opinions all she wants. When she's invited to do so. If she is entitled to do so during an award show, then so is every single person who has a moment on the stage in front of the microphone. And if that were an actuality and every single person voiced their opinion on a topic during the awards show, you would no longer have a show. You'd have a rebuttal, documentary, debate, argument...whatever the hell you want to call it. Ultimately, it would be inifinitely more boring (whether they have a worthwhile argument or not) and defeating of the whole purpose of the show's existence. She is not "taking advantage" of an opportunity where all the other stars are either ignorant or unaware of. She basically considers her opinion above that of others and the show's premise. Matter of fact, I'm willing to bet when she got the invite, she immediately started writing her little speech, regardless of whether she would win or not. So let's not subdue Sally entirely here. Sure she's entitled to her freedom of speech. That's why she can go write a book about how she feels. Or request a visit to The View, Oprah, Larry King Live, or some other program that actually wants to hear her random thoughts. I will be watching the Oscars next year. I know some idiot will detour off being thankful and throw out a bunch of his or her opinions. While I think Michael Moore is a great guy, bashing Bush (when he already did it in his movie) when he gets an award just makes him look stupid. Quality live presentations are a rare occurrence these days. They are already extremely lengthy and don't hold the wow factor very long. I want to watch the program and reflect on why someone is being rewarded and possibly find enjoyment in doing so. Transposing subject matter in that situation for me is about as exciting as straying off topic in a thread. People decide to check out a thread based on what it's called. Reading through the thread flows smoothly when the contributors play along with the topic. But then you got that one person that throws the wrench in the gears. Sometimes the machine is strong enough to keep moving and ignore the little wrench. But if it's big enough, or enough wrenches are thrown, the machine will stop and it will be time to attend to the wrenchers. Dammit, Sally Field, you make my fingers hurt.
  17. I will create a religion to Sally Field if even a micron of her words actually produces results. It's been tried collectively before. Everyone at the Emmys has an opinion. Even those in favor of Iraq. There's a time and place for everything. Don't tarnish award shows that barely cut it these days and save your maternal martyrdom for your own family. I am so glad I have little interest in television awards.
  18. I will just say "stupid bitch." You get an award and you talk about something totally unrelated to why you're there. I say give the Emmy back.
  19. CARACAS, Venezuela - Venezuelan pianist and composer Aldemaro Romero, whose music was interpreted by artists from Tito Puente to Dean Martin, died Saturday. He was 79. Romero had been hospitalized for nearly a month due to a digestive illness, and his death was caused by complications from an intestinal blockage, said Lila Lapeloso, a spokeswoman for the family. Romero, who was born in 1928, began his musical training under his father, Rafael, who also was a musician, and by the age of 9 was already in demand as a singer on Venezuelan radio stations.
