A San Diego mother of three who was living with her family in an affluent Carmel Valley neighborhood is a fugitive wanted in Michigan for breaking out of prison three decades ago, federal officials said Tuesday.

... Lefevre, who is currently being held at Los Colinas Women's Detention Facility, told NBC affiliate KNSD-TV on Tuesday night that she made a big mistake in 1975 when she went along with a friend to deliver some drugs.

"It was a couple of hundred dollars worth of drugs -- a transaction that my friend did -- and I was just there in the car," Lefevre said in the jailhouse interview.

Lefevre said an undercover agent arrested both of them. She said she thought she would be put on probation, but instead she received a 10- to 20-year prison sentence.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - When Rock Hill school officials tell commencement crowds to hold their applause until the end, they mean it — police arrested seven people after they were accused of loud cheering during the ceremonies.

Six people at Fort Mill High School's graduation were charged Saturday and a seventh at the graduation for York Comprehensive High School was charged Friday with disorderly conduct, authorities said. Police said the seven yelled after students' names were called.

Linda Penn, a Bexar County justice of the peace, says:

I don't know what was more scary, the use of CS gas or the storm-trooper style of lining the street with cops. You see it at 1:23-4

What were the protesters shouting? Sounded like "free our streets".

EDIT: I see the storm troopers were just as bad at the DNC. What did the police say when you called Dude? Do you have an independent police complaints body to complain to?

Sex-With-Corpse Scheme Busted

Woman's obituary photo spurred Wisconsin trio's grave robbery attempt

"When Nicholas Grunke last week spotted a newspaper photo of Laura Tennessen, the Wisconsin man apparently became so smitten that he plotted a rendezvous with the 20-year-old woman. But the photo Grunke saw accompanied an August 29 obituary of Tennessen, who died in a motorcycle accident. Undeterred, Grunke allegedly plotted with his twin brother Alex and a friend, 20-year-old Dustin Radke, to rob Tennessen's grave so that he could have sex with her corpse."

Teens Charged In Nursing Home Abuse

Cops: Female caregivers spat on, spanked, humiliated infirm elderly

Source: The Smoking Gun

DECEMBER 2--A group of teenagers working at a Minnesota nursing home abused and sexually humiliated elderly residents suffering from Alzheimer's disease and dementia, prosecutors allege. The six young female caregivers were named yesterday in criminal complaints charging them with a variety of cruel behavior at the Good Samaritan Society nursing home in Albert Lea, a city in southern Minnesota. Only two of those charged--Brianna Broitzman, 19, and Ashton Larson, 18--are named in the complaints since they were not minors when the alleged abuse occurred. According to District Court complaints filed against Broitzman (pictured above left) and Larson (above right), nursing home residents were spat upon, spanked, improperly touched, and tormented by the teenagers earlier this year. Excerpts of the misdemeanor complaints can be found below. Broitzman allegedly poked one resident's breasts, spit into the mouth of another elderly person, and "put her bare butt" in the face of a Good Samaritan Society resident identified as "S.W." Larson once "inserted her finger into a resident's rectum," spit water on another "vulnerable adult," and would deliberately bathe a resident in a rough manner so the elderly man would get an erection. The minor caregivers are identified in the complaints by their initials and dates of birth. Broitzman, charged with 11 criminal counts, and Larson, charged with 10 counts, face a year in jail or up to a year in jail on each of the raps.

"... the New York Civil Liberties Union and other community groups called for an investigation into what they say is a problem that's been going on for years.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
