Mortuary attendants in Durban were shocked this week when a man, who had been declared dead by paramedics and taken to a government mortuary, suddenly started breathing and woke up in front of them.

Gale Street Mortuary Unit Commander Thegran Moodley said: "The man had been involved in a car accident somewhere in the Umbumbulu area at the weekend. After the paramedics had certified him dead, my staff were called in to fetch the body."

After arriving at the mortuary the attendants had been preparing to label the body when the man had started breathing heavily and had woken up.

"The attendants ran away because they were shocked," said Moodley.

Moodley said the attendants were being treated for shock.

nah, you all don't really know me...i'm the one who went skydiving in 2000 and all the guys on the same plane were shitting their pants before the roll-out and i was going 'WHEEEEE! me first!' i LOVE getting 'scared,' used to read ghost stories before bed to ensure 'scarey' dreams. now i read HP Lovecraft (but it doesn't work that well). if i was in the whatchamacallit when the dude woke up, i woulda asked him like 'so...how was it?' (and then interviewed him for the hopefully-wild details).

hijacking thread mode: before i got here my BF checked and they won't let me skydive in england (too old) but if we go to France and jump 19 more times, i'll be certified* and then we'll be allowed to jump together in england, yay! i am so looking forward to that (even though i somehow don't wanna go to france...go figure).

to method: my BF doesn't think i'm human, so i dunno.

Too old to skydive? I don't know if they have such a thing around here. I don't anybody crazy enough to jump out of a perfectly good airplane so I don't know who to ask. There was a guy where I worked that skydived although he quit after breaking both legs once when he had parachute problems. The six months in a wheelchair changed his mind about that hobby.

What's the story on that pic rainbow? Is the pic taken before the chute opened or did the chute not open? I am not a skydiver so I don't have a clue looking at it.

I don't know much about it myself. That picture just shows how scary it looks. i have no intention of ever doing anything like that!!

it looks like a photo of a skydiving trainer jumping w/a novice...you can't do it alone until you've jumped 20X like that (and i can't wait to do it again, wherever), wheeeeeeeeeee!
